FWA
Posted 12 years ago So FWA was a blast. I met quite a bit of new furs and unfortunately i cant remember them all. But its always fun meeting new people at conventions.
I got to use my GoPro for the first time and it worked out great. I got hours of footage and a couple of pics. That Im planning on posting.
I believe the highlight for me was getting to meet Kwik, Step, and Ino89777. They were awesome to meet. They are some of the best dancers in the fandom in my opinion. And i got to hang with Foxglove whom i haven't seen in nearly 2 years. He's always fun to hang around, unfortunately i didnt get to see him dj.
The new hotel was nice, though the elevator situation could have been better. It always seems to be that if anything goes wrong at conventions its always the elevators.
I got to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and Meehan's Irish Pub, which both had excellent food. I dined like a king all weekend long haha, i didnt have a single meal that was less the 15 bucks. But it was worth it. At the Hard Rock the first time i had a hickory smoked bacon and cheese burger which was so huge that even pressing it together i could barley fit my mouth around it. And the second time i had twisted mac chicken and cheese. Both meals were amazing.
At Meehan's the first time i ate a meatloaf made from buffalo. Iv never had that before, it was so soooooo good. and the second time i ate a Jameson Irish Whisky Bread Pudding, Both meals were new to me and definitely worth visiting again next year.
On the last day i joined a bunch of furs at the bar inside the hotel and i ordered a drink called "Old Fashion". I cant remember what was in it, i just know it was a mixed drink. I ordered 2 of them and it cost me 17 bucks for both, then i put a 2 dollar tip on both drinks, so each one cost me about $10.50. Very expensive.
But with everything said and done i had a really good time at this convention and plan on making it again next year. Next up is AC. and with Spring just kicking in i feel motivated about getting into shape, I want to lose 30 lbs between now and AC. I hope to see all of you again at AC. ttyl :3

Rain rain rain
Posted 13 years agoI'm so sick of the rain. Its supposed to rain on into Saturday. That's fucking annoying. So i decided to kill the monotony with taco bell, beer, and watching horror movies and my little pony all day. XD I know some of that dosn't go together but its what makes me happy. :3 and yes. I love my little pony. :3
I love this

Fangcon
Posted 13 years ago Omg! Fangcon was so much fun. It was amazing. We had 201 for attendance and 40 of those were fursuiters, thats freakin amazing. Especially for a first year con. I made new friends and hung out with some old ones as well, which is what cons are all about for me. Bloohowler and KJ stayed with me, which are two of my favorite furs. Tofu which is another great friend of mine had to miss out due to work and the situation was the same for my good friend Fang. Its sad they couldn't make it but sometimes these things happen. I try to always keep in mind to save up for a con as though i would be paying for it myself. That way everything is covered.
I want to say thank you to two awesome furs for putting Fangcon together which are Draconis and Keefur. Thank you two for such an awesome convention. Hopefully next year will be just as awesome if not more so. Ill definitely be there. And don't worry Draconis i still owe you a 12 pack of Shinerbock. It was a tasty beer, all 6 bottles of it lol. :P
There are some furs that i wish were there, im not mentioning any names but i truly feel they missed out. The hotel and the hotel staff were great and easy to get along with. Even the non furs that came in had fun meeting us. I got to meet quit a few hot women that wanted to know more about us. I have a story about one of them that ill tell in another post.
Next years Fangcon will be my first year on staff. I think ill be on staff anyway. I have no idea what ill be doing.
A good friend of mind, Piston Pup, told me that when we started musical chairs, for me to go easy because they're were some new furs playing. Its never my intention to hurt anyone. I guess i just play to rough, and even at that I felt like i was going way easier then usual. I guess ill sit out of the next games or see if i can host them next year. During the musical chairs a good friend of mine, Roy, had gotten in a seat when the music stopped he had the seat cause i was just 1/3 of the way on the seat. I didn't know that when he sat down that he had his wrist in a non compromising position, placed there to give him good support. But as i was pushing trying to get him out of the chair Bloohowler started pushing me even harder and putting more pressure on Roy's wrist nearly breaking it. I felt so bad, Even now just talking about it I feel horrible.
But, all in all the con was a major success, everyone got along, No police were involved, nor were any ambulances called. The area we were in was beautiful and we didn't have to pay for parking. I really want to encourage and all furs that can come out to next years con to do so. This con will definitely grow and get better. It was two awesome of a con for it not to. :3

After MFM
Posted 13 years ago MFM was a blast. Not as many people this year but still it was alot of fun. I made a new friend, her name is Minzy and she was a blast to hang with. Minzy, Fang, and I hung out alot which was cool as well as having to take care of a drunk friend because he was to wasted to talk coherently.
I also turned 35 this past Monday so now im actually considered a gray muzzle. lol I feel like im apart of some elite group now. I don't know what that group would be called, but still for some reason its exciting to think about haha. I have no fear of growing old. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.
Thank goodness no drama this year. At least not with me. Some close friends of mine were having some trouble but things turned out for the better. My good friend Tofu actually made the con on Friday but then had to leave Saturday morning due to an emergency back home. I feel bad because he didn't even get to stay for a full 24 hours. So Ill be comping his room at Fangcon.
Fangcon is just around the corner and i cant wait. Its Fangcons first year and im anxious to see how its going to turn out. And its only 2 and a half hours from me so that kicks ass. Some of my best fur friends are on staff as well. So i hope all goes well, and ill try to post pics of mfm as soon as possible. ttyl :3

Still alive.
Posted 13 years ago Me and two of my friends were involved in a car wreck with an 18 wheeler. Apparently we were in the rigs blindspot when they decided to come over on us. At first we heard a loud crunch where the truck first hit us. As it did my car turned to nearly a 45 degree angle and was being pushed by the rig. After a few seconds the car broke free and we spun and caught the rear wheels of the trialer where it drug us some more. After the car broke loose that time we spun again towards the right side of the road, getting hit in the rear by another car that was unable to stop. The car came to a stop off the highway on the right side of the road.
Some how no one was injured. I was waiting for the tire to jump up on the car crushing me to pieces as i could feel the tire right outside my door just inches from my knee. But the most we had asides from injuries were sore necks and headaches.
"Death be not proud, though some have called the mighty and dreadful, thou are not so. For those whom thou think'st thou dost over throw die not poor death. Nor canst thou kill me."
John Donne, "Death Be Not Proud"

AC was a blast
Posted 13 years ago I had a blast at AC this year, i didnt get blitzed drunk like i did and throw up all over the place like i did last year. I shared only a few drinks with some close friends and still had a blast the rest of the time. My only complaint was during the dances and a beat would get started it would only last for a short while before the beat changed. Im not good at dancing so i was unable to keep a rythem with the beat changes. But all in all it was a great con.
I got to stay with two good friends of mine, Tofu, and KP, and a fur i never met named Southpaw. Southpaw was preaty down to earth and easy to talk to, he is a great fur to know. So thank you for being great roommates. :3
Watching the dancers makes me wish i could dance but i feel like im to old to start. lol I would feel rather imbarrased if i walked into dance classes, tell them my age and say i want to learn to dance. But maybe thats just me being insecure. It would be a great way to loose weight anyway.
I did miss some of the furs that i love to hang with that are normally there. They had other agendas so hopefully next year they will be there, and hopefully i will be able to go as well.
Well, Im back home now trying to get adjusted to normal everyday mundane life. Im just glad i work at a pet store, at least i get to work around animals. And i mean the pets, not the people haha. :3
My next con will be MFM, my room is reserved and im waiting to get comfermation from certain furs to see if they want to stay with me. I hope to see alot of furs that as i love watching MFM grow. Its my favorite con. See everyone there.
P.S. I love all you furs, you make life worth living.

out of control guineapigs
Posted 13 years ago Ahhhh, i was reminded today of how much love was involved with the Spring season. At work today i happened to notice the guinea pigs were being naughty. Very naughty. The first guinea pigs were humping the hell out of each other. And not just from behind in guinea pig style, but I seen one mount another's face and hump his face, then another humped another from the side humping his ribs. I wanted to look away but i couldn't. It was to funny. But what can you do you know. They don't make guinea pig condoms and I'm not sticking my hand in there to separate them. At least someone i know is getting laid. :P
Waiting for AC
Posted 13 years ago I guess i should feel lucky that i have a job that's good about letting have time off when ever i need it. Espically for conventions. I love furry conventions with all my heart and soul. It's what I live for. It's why i work. Not so much that i can pay bills and live on my own, but the fact that it allows me to go to these conventions and meet the people i truly care about. Iv noticed that out of all the furcons iv been to all furries have at least two things in common. One of course is fursuiting, and the other is music. We may not agree on the style of music, but sense iv started going to furry conventions, my mind has opened up to different styles.
Oddly enough, as much as i love metal and blues. I get most of my inspiration for wanting to play from watching fursuit dancers. That takes alot of mad skill to be able to move like they do and endure the heat from being inside the suit. On the other hand i wish i could dance. Even just a little bit. I guess its never to late to start.
I guess I'm feeling down because its been sense MFM 2011 sense I'v been to a convention. Mainly because iv been trying to catch up on bills. I might try to go to RCFM for a day or two if i can but im not sure ill have to wait and see. I just know that 9 months is way to long to wait for a furcon. I start going into withdraw after the first week lol. I guess i should use this time from now until AC to practice guitar and get into better shape.
Oh yea i joined a gym. and actually its preaty fun. =3 I went to the veterans hospital to get some lab blood work done because i was curious about my sugar and calcium levels. I have an over active Parathyroid which produces to much calcium, and by the time i hit the age of 50 my chances of a cardiac arrest due to cholesterol and me getting dementia increase by 50%. So I joined the gym, started eating healthier and watching my daily intake. I just want to make sure that i can live as long as possible and still be able to move like im in my 20's. Geez, I never thought i would hear myself say that. I love all my furry friends. Until the next convention.

Some things iv learned while working at Petsmart.
Posted 13 years ago Hello all, not much going on in life right now. Work is going great, getting bills payed on time and spending time with family and friends. Really theres nothing to write about unless its about things iv learned at Petsmart.
A couple of things iv learned about birds is that any bird, especially wild birds, can carry a virus called Sysicosis. If its transferred to humans its known as Chlamydia. Its even known as "Bird Chlamydia". Its transferred from bird to bird by secretion of the nasal cavity, feces, and eyes. It is also transferable through the air from bird to bird as feather dust. So for birds its highly contagious. As for its probability for humans catching it im not really sure. But its easy to look up on the interwebs so check it out if your interested in learning more.
Next on the list is Golden Retrievers. I love Golden Retrievers, they are very friendly pets and are very beautiful dogs. Every now and then we will have an adoption agency specifically for Golden Retrievers set up in the store, and everyone that has Goldens will show up with their Goldens. Ok not everyone but you catch my drift. Anyway, there was a Golden that had apparently been severly injured when its owner let it run around the neighborhood. It got into someones yard and that, "someone", whoever it was, didn't like it to much so they shot the Golden with a shotgun. The Golden had been parallized from the shotgun spread hitting its spine and was left for dead. Someone called the rescue and they actually managed to save the Golden. Though it was parallized in its hind legs, a doggy wheel chair was made that allowed it to use is front legs to pull itself as its back legs dangled off the back end, and it still had room to use the bathroom. So, while at work and talking to the adoption center about the fantastic pet, they would through it a tennis ball and he would chase after the ball, with great efficiency i might add, and return it to its owner. It was great to watch him overcome his condition and still live an energetic life.
On a sad note about Retrievers, it is almost ingrained in their DNA to get some form of cancer in their life, I don't know if its due to alot of inbreeding throughout the years or what the case may be but alot of Golden's will eventually get cancer, and other Retrievers as well.
Last but not least, its not a pet but actually it pertains to the food you give your pets. There are companies from China that supposedly have been putting ingredients in their treats that have been killing pets. I'm not sure if the ingredient is really that toxic or just some pet parents don't know when to stop feeding their pets and they get to much of a bad ingredient. I do know that the majority of our customers are switching to American made foods and treats because the ones coming from China are detrimental to pet health.
As for the American foods and treats, it doesn't necessarily make them entirely safe either. Though in my opinion they are better then the ones made in China. But, some american foods will have an ingredient called "Propylene Glycol", which is the bittering agent in antifreeze. There are plenty of holistic foods and treats that do not have this ingredient and that are much healthier for pets.
So in my opinion stay with the American made foods and treats, and away from anything that has Propylene Glycol.
Be very cautious of any wild bird, or any wild animal for that matter. They're just like people, you never know what they may have lol.
And as for the Golden Retreiver's don't be afraid of getting one as a pet. Its not a guarantee that they will get cancer, its just that the probability may be higher then others so its well worth looking into. And with a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition, they will live long and fruitful lives, as they make great pets and offer a lifetime of companionship. :3

ahhhh spring
Posted 13 years ago Well spring is here finally and there's one thing that i love about warm weather. Especially while I"m at work. Women wearing less clothing lol :3. It makes me realize how much i love BOOBS and ASS. I'm not trying to sound like a creep. It's just that everyone looks at someone at some point in time. It's in our nature to want and i have no trouble admitting it. It would be great if we could have a furry convention at some beach. But i guess all that sand wouldn't be good for the fur much less hard as hell to get out. :3
work during fwa weekend
Posted 13 years ago Well this weekend sucked more then anything in the kingdom of suckdom. Not because work was hard or anything but because i wasn't at FWA because i have to take care of some bills. :( I missed all of my old friends, and i missed Sparky dancing at the competition. The only thing that even remotely redeemed this weekend was the Golden Retreiver adoptions. I'll post the pics as soon as i get out of this depressing rut im in. Fuck it.
March 11/2012
Posted 13 years ago Today was only a 5 hour day at work so that's not bad. I also got to find out how immature i really am. I was taking out trash and i noticed a water testing kit for fish was to be thrown out. It had about 6 or 8 bottle in it that had to be emptied. They make us destroy things so people wont dumpster dive and try to return items they they didn't originally buy. Anyway, 2 or 3 of the bottle had a yellow liquid in it that looked like urine and i was pretending like i was peeing as i giggled the entire time. Then we had some Diet Mt. Dew that was out of date. There were about 7 bottles that had to be thrown away. So I took each one and shook them up and slammed them into the ground causing them to explode. However, i got drenched in the process. But, i had fun none the less. I love this job :3.
March 10/2012
Posted 13 years ago Today wasn't bad. It does seem weird to me however that the shorter days seem to take longer to get threw then the normal 8 hour days. Today i was announced as my stores first employee of the month. We just started last month and everyone got to vote. Yay for me :3. I got to choose between a gift certificate from Chick-fila, or Starbucks. Naturally i chose Starbucks. I won't give Chick-fila any more of my money as they support anti-gay and anti-transgendered "movements", i guess you could say, because they are a christian company. I hate that shit. God made us all equal and love is love if its heartfelt.
What I'm about to type maybe depressing for some so read at your own risk.
Today at the team meeting, we were talking about a special advertisement that we had for pet training classes. Twenty bucks will get you $120 worth of pet training coupons. And they reiterated that we don't advertise just to make money. We advertise because we care about how well the pet and pet parent get along with each other in their lives. This came up mainly because last week we had a couple come in with their pet that was aggressive. One of our pet trainers talked to the pet parents about our training classes and how it would improve the pets behavior. The couple decided to talk it over. Four days later the couple called back and talked to the trainer. They decided to put their pet down because they couldn't deal with it's behavior problems. Kinda makes you wonder who the real animal is huh?
90% of dogs are put into shelters because of behavior problems. 15% of dogs are euthanized because of behavior problems.
I don't care if some people cant afford training classes. The responsible thing to do is if you cant deal with its behavior then give it to an adoption agency. Adoption agencies will actually work with the pet and train it behave, give it vaccinations, and work with the pet until its ready to be adopted. I guess it is true that some pets cant be helped. I suppose people are the same way. But euthanasia should only be a last resort if absolutely nothing else will work, and even at that it should be handed over to an adoption agency or shelter and let them decide. Just my opinion, and you know what they say about those.
Posted 13 years ago I'll start off talking about the weekend in which i had to do an overnight from 10pm Saturday until 8am Sunday. Not much had happened, we just had alot of product in the back that had to be put out. That's about it. I did however find out Sunday morning before i left that there is a couple that brings their pets in to Banfield to get check ups, and their pets are so attached to me that they whimper when I'm not there. One of the pets is a Aussie Shepard named Pearl, and the other one is name Smug. I'm not sure what kind of dog Smug is but shes very lovable. It makes me feel bad when I'm not there to pet them because i always enjoy seeing the same pets over and over.
Monday was hellacous. Reason being is that we had inventory the week before. Anyone working retail knows what I'm talking about, and for those of you who don't, its when the store counts all of its product, every single piece. Then they have a team come in to count the product and do paper work on everything they've counted. Well the team that counted our products apparently didn't know how to count because now its showing in our negative inventory that we have a bunch of stuff missing. What does that mean? It means that the following week they try to compensate for everything that was miscounted by sending extra so we can basically catch up. Well instead of our normal 9 to 12 pallets they send us 17. Nine of which were mine. That's a whole hell of alot for a store our size. I guess i should just be happy that i at least have a job.
Well yesterday which was Tuesday, i woke up with a sore throat. And now it has escalated to a sore throat with slight drowsiness and a slight headache. Bunny needs someone to cuddle with. :( I'v need taking Dayquil and Nitequil, hopefully i wont have to go to the doctor.

Posted 13 years ago Today is actually the first of March, but i was so tired after work yesterday that i just came home and went to bed. Its not like work was extra strenuous, but i started my workout again Tuesday and had a protein shake after words for muscle recovery. Then Wednesday morning came around and the only thing i had for breakfast was coffee. That's not much of a breakfast. So lack of food for energy and me still feeling sore from the previous workout left me without any energy at all. And whats better was they asked me to stay for 2 more hours so they can have a managers meeting and I would be extra coverage on the floor in the mean time. So i worked from 4am to 2pm. I was very tired haha, but then again maybe my age is finally catching up with me. I guess i should find a work out that's not as strenuous.
Any workout is beneficial. I used to do p90x, which was great, but some i times i would push myself as hard as i could, and sometimes wake up the next morning with a slightly pulled muscle in either my neck or lower back. That probably means improper stretching or improper form. I guess i could keep doing the same workout just not go at it so hard. That's the funny thing with me and working out. I'll workout for about 3 months, eating right and loosing weight. Then i get to the point where i just want to sit and relax after work. Because i do work hard. But the problem is if i don't workout as soon as i get home i probably wont workout at all for the rest of the day. And it would be great if i had someone to workout with, working out with a friend is so much more fun, and it adds extra incentive to wanting to workout.
I'm just glad i had today off so i can rethink my strategy on how to be healthy.

Posted 13 years ago Well i wasn't able to make TFF because i have to catch up on some bills. Nor will i make FWA or RCFM this year. :( I hate being responsible and prioritizing. But its for the best.
Sense the last post not much has happened at work. I tried to take some pics of some beautiful dogs, but you know how pups can be. They're just like children they wont sit still for anything. Our back room is filled with product that we wasn't able to put out because everything had to be counted for inventory. So tomorrow we have 12 pallets showing up along with a filled backroom, this week is going to be crazy.
This past weekend i went to visit my sister and mom. We had fun hanging and drinking a little bit, watching movies and playing video games. Yes were a lazy bunch haha, but that's ok I like to be lazy at times. So while I was hanging with family i was under the impression that i didn't have to be into work until 6am Tuesday morning, which was this morning. Come to find out I looked at the wrong schedule and i was supposed to have been in at 4am this morning instead, so I got a phone call at 4:09 saying I was late. I didn't show up until an hour later. That really sucked because i didn't get into bed until 10:30pm the night before, and it normally takes me 30 mins to an hour to fall asleep.
The better news about this weekend was that i got to bring all of my guitars back with me, and some equipment that i had been looking for. I have a couple of guitars that i need to fix, but that will have to wait until i get these bills out of the way. I want to buy my own recording equipment so i can write my own music and maybe later play music at a fur convention. That's my main goal, is to enjoy the two most important things in my life, which is furry and music. I'm also tore between getting recording equipment, or my first full suit. Don't get me wrong I'm always going to have Pewter with me, hes apart of me, he is me. But i have other suits in mind as well. I have plenty of time to think about it I guess. :3

Posted 13 years ago Yesterday and today was pretty nice as far as work goes. The only trouble i had yesterday was a when a women wanted a case of canned dog food. it was underneath a case that was already open, which isn't a problem because she needed a full case and not just a few cans. But, instead of moving the top open case she just takes the case below it and pulls out and up tipping the open case over and just letting it spill all over the shelf, not even bothering to fix her mess or even apologize she just walks off. I don't know about anyone else but if your like me i felt like battering that hateful bitch with the toppled case of cans until she decided to pick up her mess. But then i would lose my job and that would suck.
Pardon my language but i use these post to vent my frustrations. So i see no need in holding back in what i have to say.
Today however was a much better day. I got to see one of my favorite Aussie Shepard's come in. Her name is Pearl. Shes very sweet and nervous. Her owner said that she found her as a pup one day underneath her car with a broken leg. So she decided to take her in. Shes a little over weight but that's fine, shes young and can burn off the fat with more exercise, or a better food. Either way shes in good health.
Today was also kind of a pain as we have inventory this week, and anyone that works retail knows how inventory goes. You have to count everything which can be a big pain if you don't have enough people. Then me and my manager got into a discussion about what kind of music is better. Death Metal or Jack Johnson. I don't mean to offend people when i say this, but then again it is just my opinion, but i absolutely hate Jack Johnson. Not as a person just his music. Not to say i don't like some easy listening music but he just annoys the hell out of me. To tell the truth all the music they play at Petsmart annoys me. There are the few exceptions when they start playing Tom Petty, Phil Collins, or Sting. But the songs i like are so few and far between at work i feel like i have to listen to Slayer or what i would consider real music just to keep me from killing myself. And you cant work at Petsmart if you dead. Give me Hate Eternal any day over Jack Johnson.
Eh, enough with music its all based on opinion and what people relate to i guess haha, my manager is really cool, anyway we were joking about it the entire time. Hopefully tomorrow will be a smooth ride. But, if you enjoy the work you do then its easy to stay positive. :3

Petsmart work day 2/21/2012
Posted 13 years ago Work today wasn't that bad. it was a short shift, and i got to leave early because i stayed over an hour yesterday. Though there was one tragic event that happened. I was asked a guest if she needed help with anything, as she was starting at the chinchilla. She said she was trying to figure out what it was and that she had never seen one before. I found that odd, assuming that everyone knows what a chinchilla looks like, but, then again you know what happens when you assume. Anyway i told her that it was a chinchilla and they are very soft, and that she can hold it for a little while if she wanted. She declined as though she wasn't quite disgusted, but more or less afraid. I never understood that behavior in some people, your over 10 times its size, whats it going to do, nibble your bum. About that time i was walking away when i looked over at the birds and noticed a bird that apparently had just died, and i don't mean 5 mins or 10 mins before i seen it, it must have his the cage bottom the second i looked over because the person that was cleaning its cage looked away the second i looked at the cage. The timing was incredible. Keeping this a secret from the women amazed at the chinchilla we were both awe struck as we picked the little bird up. Though he was dead he was still quite warm, but nothing could be done for him unfortunately.
In brighter news a couple brought in a laundry basket filled with puppies. I dont know what kind of dogs they were and i didn't care, something that small and fluffy is just beyond adorable lol. I took pics, i'll post them as soon as i'm finished with this and take the pics from my phone and put them on my computer.

Petsmart work day
Posted 13 years ago Well before i start talking about my work adventure today, let me tell you about Saturday. It was pretty much uneventful. I was dead tired at work because i didn't get any sleep before hand. I woke up Saturday morning around 9:30am. I ate breakfast and watched movies until 1pm. I tried to lay back down and sleep some more but i just couldn't sleep. I did that three more times through out the day but to no avail. So i went to work at 10pm. About 3 hours before we were off we took our hour lunch, which consisted of grabbing dog beds and sleeping on them for an hour, and if anyone is curious the orthopedic dog beds are pretty damn comfortable. I would buy one of those instead of an air mattress if they didn't cost 90 bucks for the large one. Anyway when we got off of work at 8am we all ate at Cracker Barrell. Then i went home around 9am. That was pretty much it for the Saturday overnight.
This morning was pretty crazy. First off i had to be at work by 3am so i woke up around 2am. I was almost late for work because i was looking for my wallet, that apparently my two ferrets Dremel and Kia had stolen and drug under the bed so they can chew on it. Lucky it wasn't that badly chewed and nothing was missing or destroyed. I guess they don't like the taste of leather that much ha ha. :3
When i walked threw the door to clock in, my coworker and I discovered that the floor had been completely re-waxed and they forgot to tell us the night before. So, that means that everything on the floor that wasn't bolted down had to be taken to the back. What fun. So we spent the first 30 mins bringing everything back out to the floor and getting rid of any trash they had left over from the night before. We had to have all this done before we received the trucks which had 18 pallets, which is alot for us as were not that big of a store.
So the first truck backs up to the dock, and come to find out after he opened the trailer doors, some of the pallets had shifted inside the trailer spilling all over other pallets and knocking everything to the floor. That was great. Its not hard enough work that I spend my first 4 or 5 hours moving 40 lb bags of dog food, now i have to pick it up off the floor because the dumb ass's at distribution doesn't know how to make a stable pallet. But anyone who works in retail and receives trucks knows that the most annoying people you deal with are the ones you cant talk to face to face, so I'm pretty sure the people at distribution really doesn't know what fuck ups they are.
Throughout all the mornings complications i managed to stay in high spirits and enjoy the day. And i don't mean to make this story sound boring, its just with all the product we had today i didn't get to see any of the pets that people brought in except for one large black lab. He was really sweet and friendly but he was fat ha ha. Now i know that its not healthy for pets to be over weight, but personally I love fat fluffy animals lol. :P Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to see and interact with more pets.

Working at Petsmart.
Posted 13 years ago Iv decided that a good way to get rid of my stress of the workday is by writing about it on fa. Not that it's really that stressful. Actually i love my job at Pet smart. Normally i have to be at work at either 3am or 4am depending on what time the truck shows up and i normally work until 11am or 12pm.
I get along with everybody i work with which makes things that much more enjoyable, and the highlight of working at Pet smart is all the pets that come in that i get to interact with.
I didn't realize how expensive some pet food can get. But what got me the most was how expensive prescription food can get. We have some prescription foods that cost $77 for a 22lb bag. And you can only get the food if you have a prescription. The only reason i mention the prescription card is because some people have came in thinking they can buy it right off the shelf. Which you cant.
I've learned a lot sense i started working for Pet smart. Iv seen many different breeds of cats and dogs. One guy that worked for us said he owned 5 English Mastive's. Anyone that's seen a Mastive knows how big they can get, so i couldn't imagine how much it cost to feed 5, especially on Pet smart's salary.
So for each workday I'm going to make a post of my adventures, if that's what you want to call them, and if anyone reading this has any questions about their pets i might be able to answer some of them for you, and if I don't know the answer I can write it down and take it to work with me and get an answer. Or you could look it up online lol. Which ever doesn't matter to me, but it will help me be more knowledgeable in the future.
So tomorrow i work from 10pm until 8am the next morning because we are doing an overnight, to put out as much product on the shelves as possible because this is inventory month for us. I actually like doing overnights because the two women i work with are fun to be around. And, every time we've completed an overnight we go to get Cracker Barrel and get breakfast. So ill try to post something when i get home sunday morning.
