ideas
Fölna - icelandic for 'grew pale' or 'faded' since very first draft and titling makes it look like a ghost bird. Inspired by Veðrfölnir (weather-bleached), the hawk on the eagle on Yggdrasil.
Juchne - from the Bar Juchne, a giant bird in the talmud. Probably closer to a chicken though, since the focus on eating it and eggs. We'll see.

Coloration: Iridescent purple fur so dark, it's nearly black. Truly black hair, usually with indigo highlights. Light indigo nose, pawpads, and squid suckers (sometimes dresses up with matching makeup). Bright red irises.
Physical description: Lanky and self-conciously small-chested. Could almost pass for an average domestic cat. At least, if you discount the long, sharply pointed ears, usually held back at an angle, the distinctly diamond-shaped pupils, and the long, thin, almost reptilian, prehensile tail. Of course as a displacer, she also has a pair of flexible squid tentacles at her shoulders, and a second pair of fully-functional forelimbs by her torso. She keeps her hair short and somewhat absentmindedly messy, with long, highlighted bangs framing her face.
Likes: all sorts of ethnic foods, sci fi novels.
Dislikes: water, tentacle rape jokes
Ravna is almost painfully shy, due to many layers of bad experiences growing up. She tries her hardest to be social, but often fails, to her self-schadenfreudeous joy. With people she trusts, she loves to crack terrible puns. She can get downright silly, making her the epitome of tsundere, despite how much she hates the word. Alone, she likes to keep busy in a way that only hexapeds can, either tidying up while reading, baking while watching a movie, or some other unlikely multitask.
