Furpocalypse: Carnival Recap
General | Posted 10 years agoOh. My. Goodness. Gravy. I haven't had that much fun since AnthroCon. Holy balls. Y'all really stepped upt he game this year and what a con this was.
Thursday:
We arrive early in the afternoon, get rooms situated and get our stuff unloaded. Then me and eredran talked about crappy movies until xxxbladewolfxxx and nashida arrived. We caught up, we chilled out, we had some laughs.
Friday:
Today's the nail bitter day. Me and Nisha both auditioned for the dance competition... and we both made it on stage! :D So happy and excited! I think after that we just suited around for a bit and had fun, found people, set up some more, then we went to dance. And lemme tell you, it was a blast. nevinfox played his set, and it was the most bumpin' thing I've heard in a while.
Saturday:
Woke up feelin' a little iffy, got a bit of a headache thing, but thankfully I took my meds and slept it off in time for the fursuit Parade, followed closely by the Dance Competition. I didn't end up placing, but all the encouragement, compliments, and just good vibes from the dancerfurs was so amazing and refreshing. You guys are so supportive and kind. I'm gushing, but for good reason.
Sunday:
Time to wind things down... but not before we raided the dealer's den one last time. >:3 I ended up purchasing my first Wyrm among other goodies. Was great to see all the dealers and artists. Had quite a few friends doing well, it was so awesome.
I'm probably missing a lot there, the weekend really did fly by so fast. Thanks to all of you that I saw again, the new fuzzies that I met, and here's to another awesome year! Be on the lookout for my Furpocalypse video, coming very very soon! (Already finished editing)

Being an adult is weird...
General | Posted 10 years agoAs of late, I've been feeling really anxious and stuck. I don't know what I really want to do with my life, and I guess very few people do, but it's still freaking me out none the less. I feel like I should know, like I should be in college and have a job and be doing more... But I'm terrified to. I want to make sure I don't make a mistake, because it can dictate how the rest of my life goes. I just feel so unprepared and lost...
I want to do art. i know that much. But I feel like I'm never going to be good enough to be able to make it a living. I want to strike out on my own, but I've started to have trouble leaving my house. It's my place of safety, as negative as the environment is... I feel behind, so many of my friends already have things pretty much figured out.
I dunno... This is probably really stupid... Just felt like saying it I guess. Even if no one reads this, I said it.
Gosh I'm lonely...

Sorry for the inactivity
General | Posted 10 years agoBeen under a bit of stress lately. I've been feeling more anxious than usual, and really kinda bogged down. I dunno what it is. I'm not sick, but I just have no energy. No matter how well I sleep. I just feel... Bland. And I'm worrying about a lot of things more often than I usually do. I'm working on getting back into the swing of things, but damn it has been hard.
On top of that, I promised I would update as soon as I knew... My grandma is dying from cancer. Last year she underwent chemo treatments and had surgery, but they found too many tumors to take care of. There's nothing more they can do, my grandma doesn't want more treatment because it almost killed her last time and she doesn't want to go through it again. All they can do now is keep her comfortable, which is what they're doing. Bottom line is, she's gunna go, and probably soon.
While I would appreciate well wishes, honestly this has been something coming for a while. I'm at peace with it... I mean, she's still here now... We'll all die eventually. It just hurts to see her suffer. It's long and drawn out and hard... So bare with me if I seem a bit spacey or distant. It's not you. I'm just dealing with a lot.

AC 2015 Report!
General | Posted 10 years agoBest. Con. Yet. There's a reason why it's the biggest furry convention, it was amazing. The city was great, the people were awesome, it was definitely all the hard work and saving and that long drive through Pennsylvania. I got to meet some fantastic people, reunite with friends, and it was just a ball.
Here's the bulk of what went down: I had an anxiety attack Thursday which was not fun, but being around so many friends helped. I roomed with Blade, Eredran, Nisha, Ayla, and Bennet, and they're super fab. Didn't have a problem at our hotel, we stayed at the Omni.
Friday I barely left my suit, it was just too fun I couldn't not be fuzzy. (I finished a full Darcy 2.0, I now have my first fullsuit) I went to the So This is Your First Anthrocon panel, because it was my first AC, and I even got to say a few words about vision in suit. I met Kage, he's pretty darn awesome. Was really surreal. I also had the prelims for the Dance Competition. Didn't make the finals, but I was close. I got to talk to the amazing Dancer Furs and they are so incredible. All of them were encouraging and welcoming. I can't thank or praise them enough. Such awesome people. Speaking of dancing, I think it was that night we went to the rave. Not sure though, could have been Saturday... Everything sort of bled together. XP But we totally did dance.
Saturday was another day of suiting and events, it went by super fast. Like whoosh. I had the taur meet and greet in the morning, then I had to shim sham down to get in position for the fursuit parade. I made the first row in the suit photo! :D Taru helped me get in line in the right place and I'm front row. Then the parade happened. Oh. My. Dog. For the first time ever, we went outside. We took furry to the public, and my god what a turn out we got. 5,000 showed up to watch our parade. It was incredible to see. We made so many people happy. Something interesting happened on my walk back to the hotel that night. I was walking with another fella, super tired because I'd been suiting all day, and we met these two guys in suits. We got to talking, and I swear one of the guys was Ewan McGregor. Not shitting you, he even had the accent. I talked to Obi Wan Kenobi about furries. And he was super chill about it, too.
Sunday was starting to get sad because last day and all, but we weren't done partying yet. We had plenty to do and we hit the dealer's den hard, got some pretty awesome stuff. :) I'm pretty sure it was just a hang out day, cause I didn't go to many panels. Oh, the dance comp. How on earth could I forget that? Holy smokes, it was beyond words. Blew me away, how good our dancers are getting and how well they perform. It's so awesome.
In between all this we went to lots of places to eat, I ate with friends, got to meet artists and just hang out. Oh, I also delivered all the badges I needed to, so that was a huge accomplishment. Coordinating with furries is like herding cats. You just can't do it, at least not well. That, and some drama things that happened, aside, it was the best weekend of my life. Everyone was just so loving and welcoming, I really felt like I was home.

I can take on realistic and cartoony styles to match your needs and have a good bit of experience doing reference sheets. I work well with customers and can generate references even from a worded description. My prices are reasonable, and I would love to become part of a team.
I was just wondering if anyone doing suit work was looking for their own reference artist. If not, if you'd like to pass a link along to my gallery or to this journal, it would be much appreciated.

*IMPORTANT Terms of Service Updates
General | Posted 10 years agoI need to finish drafting a complete terms of service update for my work, but a big one that I need every one to know now is payment related.
DO NOT SEND ME PAYMENTS AS GIFTS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Send them as payments for goods and services, please. Most of you are good about it, but I can't just let it slide when people don't anymore. PayPal is going to start fining people starting July 1st for not complying with these rules, and I do not want a $2,500 dollar fine hanging over my head. I've never had that much money in my life, I wouldn't be able to pay that.
In conclusion, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT SEND ME PAYMENTS FOR ART AS GIFTS ANY MORE. I will refund you your amount and you will have to send your payment again, the correct way.
Also, TIPS DO NOT REQUIRE THIS. If you'd like to give me a tip for my work, you can send that as a gift in a separate transaction.
