Parades, Fires, Drama, Oh My!
Posted 11 years agoSo I know that I have things that I owe people, and they are ready to be uploaded for the owners approval and then off to be colored. With it being December it has been hectic around here and everything. First was the Christmas parade I took my son to last weekend. And that was an awesome day! Got a few Christmas presents there for family. Ate carnival food, walked around a lot, even got a blister on the bottom of my foot from all the walking around so much. But my one year old loved it. All the lights, the sounds, the toys...lol. He was such a good boy that day. He was so tired when we got home he went straight to bed without a bottle that night. And he would of slept all night except for the fire that we had. After putting him to bed, I hung out with my mother in law watching National Lampoons Christmas Adventure movie and while we were sitting there enjoying the movie and some hot chocolate I smelled smoke. So I asked her if she smelled it too. Since she did we both went out side to see if someone was burning their trash (out in the middle of nowhere, where we live, its cheaper than taking it to the dump). Well that was not the case. Our house was on fire instead. Thankfully it wasn't a big fire, it did not have enough time to get too big yet, so after freaking out and waking up my husband and son and father in law, we put the fire out. Upon further exploration of where the fire was and going underneath the house to see how much damage there was, which thankfully there was not a whole lot of damage except for the outside wall. Which is good, because that means that all I have to replace is the boards and some of the insulation and tar paper or whatever that is they put on the outside of the house. But we could not come up with any explanation as to why the fire started. There were no pinched wires or any wires for that matter where the fire started. In the center of the what is now charcoal instead of wood boards, is a hole. Like someone drilled a hole into the side of my house and started the fire. Which is weird because there is no fire damage underneath the house and on the cement blocks underneath the house. All the damage is around this little hole. So we have one of two theories:
A. A meteorite hit the house because we had a huge meteor shower that night, or
B. The same family that beat the crap out of my father in law a few months back started the fire because there are multiple lawsuits against them with most of them being from my father in law.
Both of them are just as likely as they are unlikely. We just don't know. It was a freak accident and scary at the same time.
Then before going grocery shopping yesterday I found out my brother in law was coming home for Christmas. Which is great...kinda. There is an outstanding feud that him and my husband had because they are both stubborn, headstrong and think that they are right and refuse to admit that they might be wrong. Lets just say the last time they were under the same roof, it took three people to separate them before they bashed each others skulls in over A BAG OF BURNABLE TRASH that we did not have a chance to burn yet because of the weather. It would not of been a problem, but neither one of them know when to be the bigger man and shut their mouth. But oh well. If they start another fight on Christmas or anywhere near Christmas day you can bet I will call the cops this time. There will be no fighting like that around my son. Thankfully last time my child was in his room and watching his baby channel. Needless to say this is about to be a very long Christmas week and I hope that they can put all hating aside just for one week and be civil to each other for my sons sake. There is no reason that he needs to see his father and uncle fight in such a way.
But that is enough ranting for one day. Now that it is off my chest I feel so much better and maybe the want to draw will come back. Ever since my finals, I just have not felt the need to draw anything at all. No inspiration what so ever. None, at all. Not even music or shows are any inspiration. I have been reading lots of paranormal romances in hopes that inspiration hits, but so far no luck. Oh well.
Anyways, I hope that everyone will have an awesome Christmas and that they get all if not most of what they wanted for Christmas. I love you all!

Posted 11 years agoWell school is finished, so now I have more time to do my artwork! I will finish what I've already started, which means I will finish my to do list and then get started on some commissions. So from now until january 16th Commissions will be half price. I will have three slots open at a time, all you have to do is message me with the form I will provide below. Hopefully they will be done in a timely manner and if I do not get to all of them before my classes start next year they will be done every weekend until I finish the to do list. Once school starts artwork will be uploaded every weekend; your character here slots will be done during the week and finished on the weekends. I hope that everybody will have a great Christmas if I don't post another journal until after the holidays! I also hope everybody will have a great day, a great week, & a great weekend! Black Friday? Never Again.
Posted 11 years agoSo my husband and I decided to leave the child at home and go to walmart because they had such an awesome deal on a Samsung Galaxy S4 In the papers for the black friday deal. So we do what we are supposed to and get there almost 2 hours before 8pm. Walmart is packed fuller than flies on sh&*&t. We say okay, no problem, I will go in the store and my husband will go find a place in the grass to park. Still, no problems. I go into walmart and push my way past hundreds of people and go looking for an associate to figure out what line I was supposed to be in for the phone. I get ignored. Still, no problem I just to the next one......ignored....next one.....ignored.......next one......ignored.........
I finally end up asking another customer who got there before me and was able to figure out what line the phones are gonna be sold to. And then it turned out I was like the 5th person in line. Great! And then after y husband meets me back there he gets on his phone and looks up the phones on the walmart website and sees an even cheaper phone for a Samsung Galaxy S3 for half the price of the S4. Even better! So we get the boxes you are supposed to pick up and take them to the register to get the phone. Well First they wouldnt price match the phone that isnt even on the black friday list and I am not paying almost $300 for a phone. So we pushed our way through the masses to leave the store and once I get home I call corporate office and I quote "I am so sorry, but the Store manager makes that decision." ........ok so then I call the store manager at my walmart. And this is how it went:
Store Manager: Do you have any idea what day this is?
Me: Yes I do and I understand that you are very busy, but (recount whole story here)
Store Manager: Let me go see and call you back.
Me: Ok
3 HOURS LATER
Me: Hi, I called earlier about a phone....
Assistant Store Manager: Yes I have your information here, let me go ask and call you back.
Me: Again?
1 HOUR LATER
Store Manager: I dont know what they told you, but we do not have that phone in stock currently.
Me: You didnt even have the phone that WAS advertised in stock! (A customer was complaining about it in the store, she was going to buy 5 Galaxy S4's)
Manager: I dont know what to tell you. Have a nice night.
Phone goes dead.

I have been sucked in....
Posted 11 years agoWell not only has school got me working really hard so that I can pass my finals this weekend, when I am not doing school work, house work, a being with my child (aka I spend hours late at night playing this game), a game called Corruption of Champions has me addicted to this game. >_< It is just so much fun! You have to go play it! IT WILL SUCK YOU RIGHT IN! YOU HAVE TO GO CHECK IT OUT!

Posted 11 years agoWell I have two more weeks of school until I complete my first semester of college! I cant wait haha! Because then that means I have more time for my family and my art! Woohoo! At least until the second semester starts and then we will be back to me falling off the map sometimes. But never fear! I will remember those that have helped me through school funds and when I needed funds for a phone and to have the ability to buy christmas presents for my family this year.

Well, lets just say my phone went off and died on me and went to phone heaven. I do not know what happened to it. It was working fine this morning and now it will not even turn on. I have charged it, taken out the battery and put it back in, and nothing that I can think of works. I guess with every good thing a bad thing waits right behind it. Oh well, life happens right? Well I do not want to have to use the money I have in savings that is meant for my college courses and books so I am asking you guys to help me out. A new phone will cost anywhere between $50 - $100. I would not even worry about this but I am a stay at home mom in a neighborhood where my neighbors are a mile down the road. So if I did not have a 1yr old I would not even worry about this little thing. But if something happens I need to be able to get ahold of my husband or my mother in law or father in law. So here is the deal, I need emergency commissions, and I am about to post a few preposes that are $10 a peice; I am also lowering my current YCH's to $20AB. Commission prices are as followed:
1 Character; flat color; simple background = $10
2 Characters; flat color; simple background = $15
Chibi Characters, flat color; simple background = $5
Any extra characters past two are an extra $1 a character.
Shading is an extra $5 per character

Great Stuff This Week
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, sorry about all of the YCH images. I know that I am bombarding you with them, but I promise that there will be less of them comming up soon. Anyways here is what to come this month:

I know I said that there will be less of them, but these are the three that will come up every month until the end of time lol. What can I say? My furries like to have different partners and I like the chances of drawing something other than wolf anthros :D
Anyway, I am still working towards my goal of at least $300 to spend on my family for christmas this year and I am still only at $50 of this goal. But I am confident that I will make it to my goal and beyond. So go and bid on my YCH's!
On a better note, I received a grant from my college the other day so now all of my books and classes are covered for next semester! Yay! I am so excited! This was much needed relief and a huge weight taken off my shoulders. I am so releived to know that I can continue my education and not have to stop because I cant afford the books. It is such a relief! I was so excited when I recieved the check that I almost feinted right there in my kitchen while cooking homemade enchiladas. I had to walk out of the kitchen and go sit down before I fell to the floor. Not gonna lie, I almost cried that day lol.
I still cant stop smiling about it when I think about the check that I recieved. Good things do happen to those that wait! Anyways I hope that everyone has a great week! I love all of you! You guys are epic!

Graphic Tablet Questions
Posted 11 years ago[center]Well I was looking at graphic tablets because I realllllllly want one and my heart almost stopped at seeing the prices of them. I was like holy cow! How do they expect a freelance artist to actually pay these prices? I guess some people can because their art brings in over $100 a piece lol. But mine surely doesn't XD and that is ok because I think that what my art brings in at this time is good enough since the extra $5 or $10 here and there are ok. But there is about to be less personal art (a lot of it I dont actually post) than usual and more YCH pieces (like several a week) so that way I can afford one of these tablets. I also have another question, for those of you that have a tablet, what is your personal opinion about them? Like which one would be good for an amateur digital artist such as myself? Currently all I have at my disposal is the track pad on my laptop. Which means for even small pieces it takes forever to get them done. I am hoping that once I can get one of these tablets you will be seeing more art, and for those that buy commissions or YCH art that it will get done faster and with better quality as far as coloring and shading. I really hope to get a tablet by the first of next year. I am not looking to get the super nifty amazing wish I could really afford $1500 graphics tablet from wacom, but maybe just a small easy to use graphics tablet. Any input would be helpful. Until then I am going to go work on some YCH sketches.

Posted 11 years agoSo I went through the TOS of FA to find out for myself about it, and its not on the TOS about the journal I made about the sketches, there was nothing about it being against the rules, so I went clicking around and it IS in their rules that it was a big no no to do that in their Code of Conduct:

So for everyone that wanted a sketch I will do as many as I can until sunday. But after that No free sketches. I will note EVERYONE on this list and inform those that are not watching me. Hello Everyone, Just an update
Posted 11 years agoHey so yesterday I got my tooth pulled. And to tell you the truth, I would much rather go through labor again than get another tooth pulled. But now that I am feeling better I have a lot of stuff to catch up on(both school assignments and art that people have paid for). Im am so sorry for the delay but this tooth that I had pulled yesterday was just causing me so much pain that I couldn't do anything except lay in bed and cry all day. And I was like that since about Monday. Wednesday I had enough of the pain so I swallowed my pride, called my dad and begged him to pay the $150 it took for the dentist visit and tooth pulling. Then he and I got into a fight, although he still paid it, But I think he only did that because he was drunk when I called him from the dentist office. So at least he paid the $150. I don't mean to put my personal life on here but I needed to vent this out: WHY THE HELL CAN YOU GIVE MY SISTER OVER $1500 FOR A NEW PHONE, FURNITURE, A BED, AND WHATEVER ELSE SHE NEEDS, BUY YOUR BITCH WIFE A NEW TRUCK, AND NOT LET ME BORROW A MEASLY $150??? HOW DARE YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY TO ME THAT I NEED TO GET A FUCKING JOB. I HAVE A DAMN JOB. I TAKE CARE OF MY SON AND GO TO SCHOOL FULL TIME. THATS MY JOB. GET THE FUCK OVER IT I AM NOT AS WELL OFF AS YOU AND YOUR BITCH WIFE ARE.
Dammit. Okay I feel better lol. Anyways so yeah. It doesnt hurt anymore, but it is sore. AND i cant smoke for the next three days or have coffee. I think this part might be rougher than actually getting the tooth pulled. Oh well we will see lol.

Financial aid will pay for the classes but there will not be enough left over for the books. Or at least not all of the books anyways.
