10 Years On Fur Affinity
Posted 3 years agoHello everyone;
I just noticed that today marks my tenth anniversary on Fur Affinity. WOW ! Time Flies when you are having fun.
My first year, or so, was as a "shadow watcher" then I came up with my OC's Raynard and WJ. Over the years they have gone from an idea to very much having their own personalities that really steer their own paths. They are so much fun for me. I hope you are enjoying them as well.
We, as humans, have endured some "interesting times" in the past decade. But FA and the people I have met here are always able to brighten things up. Thank you all for that !
I hope you all are having as much fun on FA as I do. I have met SO many nice people, in SO many interesting places it is a mini-adventure every time I open my page.
I wish you all the best for the next decade.
As Raynard often says..."what could go wrong"
*Hugs* Ray

Why Halloween is popular among foxes.
Posted 10 years agoHope you all have a happy Halloween.
This holiday is popular among us foxes becauseeeee.....
1. It is the big holiday in FOXTOBER.
2. It is the biggest day for FOXTOBERFEST.
3. Its main theme colors are orange and black....(no coincidence that most foxes are orange with black markings!)

WHAT A FEMBOI MADE ME REALISE.
Posted 12 years agoHi everyone. Some of you may know that I sometimes consider myself a wise old fox that on occasion shares information and generally trys to help younger folks with rough spots that we all run into. This doesnt mean that I am to old to learn from the young'uns though.
Last week my mate and I went to New Orleans for their annual Southern Decadence celebration. (Its kind of a gay Mardi Gras party ending in a parade that all are encouraged to join, especially in costume)
During this parade I met a young man who was also a Femboi. (he was dressed in the classic Femboi outfit, platform shoes, striped thigh-highs, a thong under a short cheerleader skirt, net shirt and fingerless gloves up to his upper arms. He also had beautiful black shoulder length hair worn in the classic, Veronica Lake, one-eye covered style.) I had the opportunity to talk with him briefly and he told me that he came to Southern Decadence because it was one of the few places and times that he could be himself, without fear of being beaten up.
(A bit of ancient history here) When I was in high school and college (and realised I was gay); gays were commonly harassed, often beaten up and occasionally killed. We gays have progressed so far in being accepted these days that its easy to forget the "bad old days" when being "out" could be a dangerous thing.
There are still plenty of haters out there. Theres someone that hates... furs, gays, fembois, lesbians, and anyone that they perceive as "different" Just about all of us in the fandom fall into some "hateable" catigory. That young mans fear of being attacked for what he was reminded me where I (and all gays) were years before. What this charming and intellegent young man taught me was that we are all on the same path toward acceptance of being who we are. It seems to me, that those that have progressed along that path should be seting up beacons for others to follow, not throwing up roadblocks.
In short, we in the fandom (furs, gays, fembois, lesbians etc) all need to stick together. You may not "like" _____ (fill in the blank) types, But please try to be understanding and tolerant. Treat others as you want to be treated. If we can do this, the fandom (and life ingeneral) could be such a wonderful place.
See...old foxes can learn new tricks. As can we all.
