Without getting political I am losing my career of 13 years due to my trans identity.

13 years of hard work and dedication feels like it has been ripped from me. I have alot of emotions surrounding this, but I've come to a space of peace with it all. I feel this has come at a good time for me in my life. I dont align with the agenda, my unit has run me ragged and finding joy in anything had become near impossible.

I had no time to draw, make music, or really even do anything that brings me joy. Depression honestly hit me hard over the lsst two years. Being told I am being kicked out in turned kicked my butt into gear when it comes to putting myself a little bit higher on my own priority list. In short it's really looking like a blessing in disguise.

As of now I am on indefinite leave of absence until I have my offical end date. I am taking this time to better myself, get my hobbies back, and spend what time I have left with Giotto (I cant believe my boy is almost 15, where does the time go).
We will be moving back across the country soon, but my first goal is to just recoup after the whirlwind that has been the last two years.

I am also being evaluated for disability and benifits, so I know even after I lose my career I will have something coming in as its looking like I will be leaving with at least an 70- 80% VA disability rating, which I am going to fight for higher (we all seem to have to).
As for a job, well I finally am reaching my life long goal and will be working in a hospital as a chaplain. I am fortunate enough to know the director and he has a spot waiting for me as they want to keep the pagan representation alive in their trauma centre.

Its been alot, but I really am looking forward to having my life back and being creative in some shape or form. Ill be posting pictures of some of my projects that I was able to work on, not really furry related but they have kept me sane the last few months.

So I finally after years of trying got back on active duty, I finally was granted my new contract!

With this comes a 7-9 month training period where I will have very limited time to work on art. Arguably for a good chunk of it will not have my ipad at all.

Alot is going to happen from around June to probably January time frame. I am currently packing up my house, working on arrangements for Gio, and setting up as much as I can for a smooth transition back to active duty life.

I would like to get one more piece done before I go, and if you want more updates twitter is the place to find them (for now if that doesnt implode while im gone), from WIPs, to general posts and updates.

For now, the only way to get NSFW art from me will be through YCHs.

I plan on doing one a month...or at least try.

As for the flow of adult art, I was considering having a separate gallery for it. But, I haven't decided yet. Here you can filter if you do or don't want to see mature art, so I think it's a bit unnecessary.

I have offically returned to my full time job. It is taking alot of readjusting, but slowly getting back to it.

I am planning at least two more, ones where it can be any species.

So far I am thinking one more NSFW and a SFW.

General commissions are closed for the time being.

So in a last minute decision, it looks like I will be attending ANE.

I am still going to be taking it very easy, so no saxophones or guitars this time.
But I will have my ipad, sketchbook, and probably my switch if anyone wants to connect on that.

beyond that, this will be a con I think I finally slow down and instead of running around and preparing for concerts and panels, I will just leisurely attend those that interest me and over all just hang out.

other than ANE, Anthrocon and WPAFW are the only other cons I am currently planning (Maybe MFF).
I would love to do Eurofurence again, but even if that occurs and I could get to Germany, I do not still feel right flying internationally. So sadly, only US cons for now.

I also am currently scheduled to deploy again soon, so I do want to have some fun, but doing it as safely as possible.

But post-op, I am feeling really good. Limited movement and really constricting weight limit.

So,

while I can not say it is complete; I can say that my half-cross country move is now at a point where I can get back to my life.

Very few know, but, I just went through an extremely stressful move. My last landlord attempted a lot of things that would have cost me a good chunk of money, but thankfully with the guidance from my lawyer I dodged that.
But the full story on that is not important here, and it is in the past.

As for my new home, I am still unpacking and all that, but I have the important things set up. With that I do plan on getting back to my schedule from my last update with proposed streaming nights added:

'Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Days off
Tuesday and Thursday: Art and possible streaming nights
Saturday: May become another streaming day, perhaps a music focused one
Sunday: This a free for all day, it will probably look a lot like my Saturdays.

Remember, this is after working a full 10 hour day M-F.
I also may be getting a new job. A job I really want, but I am still in a very extensive interview process and there is no guarantees at this point.

I will be reaching out to some individuals that I owe responses to as well,
but talking and responding to people has been extremely difficult for me with everything that has happened over the last two months or so.

Well, I definitely feel like I owe an explanation.

But my work has been absolutely running me through the ringer, long story short; I am filing a discrimination claim against my command.

So, not that this is an excuse by any means, by the time I get home from work I lock myself in my room and play games to unwind or go to the park and run myself to execution.

I avoid conversation with most people, and have selected a few that I talk to just to keep myself sane. But, I've decided it was high time that I got out of this strange rut I've been in for about a year now.

I have a few commissions out there, and after drafting a work schedule, I plan on holding myself to it. I am a very plan orientated person, and without it I am sure nothing will ever get done. So with that said I am implementing this schedule for myself:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: These are my days off from art to focus on my work out routine and to play games to unwind before bed.
Tuesday and Thursday: These are art days.
Saturday: So long as the weather holds I like to go for a bike ride these days, but unless I have Drill this is a mixed bag of art, games and trying to enjoy my weekend.
Sunday: This a free for all day. I work on or do what feels right this day, so it will probably look alot like my Saturdays.

Still figuring out how to work my music into this set up also.

Remember, this is after working a full 10 hour day M-F. So I will do my absolute best to stick to this, but there may be times when I deter based on the type of day I had at work.

My transition on my personal side has been going very well, but my unit has made it impossible to want to even exist some days and that really has affected me in all areas, in particular my creative outlets. I have done a number of things over the past year that I regret and am not proud of. But it is what it is, and now I am addressing it and forcing myself to be better.

I am considering opening for three slots, but admittedly I may be rather selective on which I take. Currently I am not open for NSFW work, unless its a nude pin up or somthing along those lines.
This really is just to get me drawing again with purpose, as I am finding it hard to carve the time out for myself and hope maybe drawing other characters will get me out of my rut.

My general polices are as follows:

Once a sketch is received payment is due. In the sketching stage this is where you can make the extreme adjustments. Once the line art is done I will do base colours, again this is the time to change the colours or if I have misinterpreted any markings, make those adjustments. This must be done before shading.

So I have about a week and a half of my degree left, as well as I am finishing grading some of my undergrad's papers and what not.

So I have been super burnt out lately, that even sketching and practicing my instruments has been near non existent.

I am back on orders in NY over the summer, but I will have my iPad and some of my instruments to make my hotel room feel more like home.

Just had my first appointment for HRT today, next week we draw blood and if those labs go well then I could be on Testosterone as early as the second week of February... so long as my command gives me to ok or turns a blind eye until the updated policy is finalized.

I am feeling a wave of emotions; excitement, fear, impatience, nervous...and so so many others.

As for music, well I hurt myself pretty good at work last week, so music is out for a few weeks.

I will still pick away at art, but my left hand likes to make its self known by cramping at the best times...it truly is amazing.

I just realised I haven't updated much here about what has been going on recently.

To start on a more personal side:
I recently came out as trans. It is something I have always known, but have hidden for a number of reasons. And well... it has been an absolute shit show since. My job is very restrictive on my rights as a trans individual. I will not go into it, but if you know anything about the US military's ban on trans service members...well I am wrapped up in that. My family took it about...well how I expected based on the individual. It has in many ways ruined a lot of relationships for me, and I feel it has ruined some potential good things I was looking forward to in the future. But, I will not bog this journal down with all the depressing details.

Like many of us, the last few months have been rather rough on me. So art is slow, and twitter is the best bet to see WIPs.
But finished work is going to be real slow...and in some ways, it will be long stretches between uploads until things settle.

I am currently on Active duty orders and am living out of a hotel (and have been since March). By September 1st I hope to be on my way back to some type of normalcy and in my new flat. The hotel life has really brought me down and does make sitting down to draw difficult.

Though, good news, once I get my new place I plan on investing in some equipment to record music and even get a better drawing set up and hopefully uploads will start popping up again. Though, I may make a separate page for my music, haven't decided yet.

I do poke around here at least a few times a week, but as mentioned above; if you want to see the activity, twitter is where I am most active.

I am sure many of you have read FA's updated policy in regards to some content.
First, I want to establish that I respect this decision and hold no ill thoughts against those who made it.

I will take my next day off to remove any pieces that violate this new policy, save them on my drive if need be and go from there.
With this said, I am not abandoning the story line, I will work with some options for future posting (such as my own website and what not).

However, this has driven me to really focus on the main aspect of my story, as well as develop skills in other artistic avenues. I can not ignore that the uniform in question will appear in my art at points, its just a reality of the story I am trying to tell. But, I have always wanted to make it clear that it was never the focus. Admittedly, I have not done the best job of that with a few select characters. I tend to get comfortable in something, and uniforms are just something I am extremely comfortable with.

So no, I am not fleeing the site. I will be around so long as I am welcome.
I will still focus on my passion; and work with dark, military, and mafia related themes. If I do find another place to post, I will defiantly update everyone.

I am caught up on owed work so far, and currently I have two weeks left of this semester.

With that, I am debating if I will be opening for commissions again, at least in the near future. I am at the point where I feel my art is very hit and miss and my turn around time is just simply awful. I do not want to run my queue like this, it is not fair to the commissioner and I do not believe that sheds a good light upon me.

I do believe the work load from Uni and my job does directly impact a lot of factors with my art.
Personally, I want to work with my characters again, as many have been left to the way side. I also have some gift pieces I have planned to thank some amazing people who have greatly impacted my life over the past year.

I will revisit this after I wrap up the semester, but if I do open it will be for one or two slots at a time.

Remember, I post sketches and what not to my twitter. Because of this, I appear much more active on that platform. I also hope to get into more recording of my music.

As for Anthrocon, it is still on my radar and I hope this con is still a go.

Well...seeing as I only live about an hour and 45 minutes away from Chicago and had to go there in December anyway...well its happening.

So finally, after 6 months of busting my ass and trying my best I finally got a hold of a full time job! I start November 10th, and this included immediate benefits...which my lord I need to see a dentist before i rip my own molar out.

Though this good news comes with some bad.
I will be unable to attend Furvester as it is far too close to my hire date to get the time off.
though by EF26 I should be good to go! I wanted to attend Confuzzled but I am in a place were I have to chose one and I think EF is the better choice for me at this point, also puts more time in my job so they will be more willing to give me the time off.
Though due to my hours and how close I am to Chicago I may be t MFF2020, we will see. And of course I will still go to WPAFW or another con that is close to me that does not require time off.

School is kicking my ass, there is no way around it. I am doing my best with what I have and have about...three that are currently just sitting on my Ipad. Sadly I am using my Ipad for school and that effects my ability to use it for art. I will be investing in a art only tablet once I get more on my feet.

Good news, I was presented a conditional hire package, and once the background check is done I will be hired as a full time corrections officer (Which being military reserves and holding clearances, they are not concerned and neither am I).

This means I will be working and attending graduate school full time. Any drawing I would be doing at that point will be personal or if I have anything outstanding, will be completed at this time.

With this new job, besides paying down debts and paying bills I will be saving for a tablet beyond the Ipad. So I am hoping to take my art to the next level.
But after EF I will not feel comfortable taking on new commissions due to time constraints. If I feel I am managing my time well enough this may change. But at this point I can say the soonest opening will be December after this (maybe WPAFW if I am still attending).

So,

I took my beloved Giotto, that is my pup, to the vet. we are new to our area and wanted to ensure his health and that we have a clinic near our new home.

After being separated for over a year I had a feeling he would have a yeast infection in his ears, as he has always been prone to those. I was correct. However, during his check up the vet said she heard something concerning with his heart. I told her that when he was a puppy I was told he had a heart murmur. She advised me this was not what was worrying her and suggested a blood panel to be done. I of course agreed with out question.

As most of you know, I am with out a job and I am living on my savings. The estimated cost of the visit went from 55 to over 400. A price I am glad I paid, but really didn't have to spare. His results came back and he has been diagnosed with Cognitive Heart Failure (CHF). Now I will not go into detail there, I will say this turned my world upside down.

To put it simply, my world revolved around Giotto. He is more than my pet, but he is also my partner. For years we have worked together and the idea that my son/ partner has a serious condition is rattling to say the least. A lot is changing, from diet to medications. And my monthly expenses on him just flew through the roof.

I know there is the question of what this means for commissions. Well I am leaving them open as I need the extra cash flow until I figure out some things. I just needed a few days to processes the prognosis at its worst. The two current slot holders, I would like to have done by the end of this weekend as well an outstanding commission.

NOW before someone mentions about me attending EF, WPAFW and Furvester while being tight on cash!
Mind you these trips are paid for, plane tickets and all. The only thing is the actual hotels to be withdrawn. That is a lot of money to just lose. So I will be going to these conventions still. So no just not attending will not really solve my issues. I have done a lot a math and even selling my registrations and what not does not cover the fact I have spent thousands on plane tickets that are non-refundable(If you travel- get travelers insurance, get it! I am learning my lesson). I do have enough to pay my way until October, and if everything goes right I will getting my GI Bill along with drill pay. I am not completely out to dry, but things will be tight that is for sure.

Also moving across states is proving to be tedious, I had to pay for new licences, certifications and exams just to interview. I have at least 9 applications in with the county government alone. Hopefully I will be getting some calls in the next week or so.

Simple backgrounds will be included as I am still not 100% confidant with them.

If you want something more detailed I will be willing to do detailed work for an extra 5-10 depending on the size of the image (This will be discussed through direct messaging).

All payments are through PayPal and are due upon receipt of the initial sketch.


My general polices are as follows:

Once a sketch is received payment is due. In the sketching stage this is where you can make the extreme adjustments. Once Line art is completed no adjustments to the pose or character will be made unless it is a mistake on my end. Once the line art is done I will do base colors, again this is the time to change the colors or if I have misinterpreted any markings, make those adjustments. This must be done before shading.


NSFW: I will work with adult commissions if requested at no additional charge for pin-up/ artistic nude scenarios.

Other NSFW requests will be discussed privately.
