Holiday cards
General | Posted 12 years agoHey all. So this year I wanted to send out Christmas cards again after skipping the last coupe years.
So here is the deal: you want a card from me? Please note me your address. That's all you have to do.
If you don't want your furry name on the envelope just give me your rl name too and I'll make sure to use that.
If you don't celebrate Christmas I have some more generic holiday cards. Just ask for that instead. I have a limited number of those so please only if you really don't want a Christmas card.
Hope you all have a great holiday and a great New Years!
UPDATE: I've mailed out all the cards with plenty of time to get there in time before the 25th. Thanks very much to everyone!

MFF 2013
General | Posted 12 years agoI returned from my first MFF this week and boy I sure had a blast. This was easily my most fun time I have had at a convention ever.
We had most of the grand toony crew around. I know a few couldn't make it for very important reasons but they were missed. Hopefully we can get some of those guys out there next year!
There was only really one hitch the whole weekend. When I arrived at the hotel there were no double bed rooms available. Though I booked for a room like that the hotel would only give me a king with a cot for one night. It was a tiny room, like the kind I had stayed in Europe before. Fortunately we made things work that first night at the con and it was resolved the next day.
Me and Aurora surprised Dingoroo with a gift of a lovely Bonkers plush and t-shirt. It was a lovely little scheme in the works to get something nice for this guy who has been such a great friend to us. Thank you so much Aurora for letting me be a part of this. Ahhh it was so precious seeing him carrying it around the rest of the con in his art supplies bag. ^.^
I got lots of time for suiting around at this con. Boy there was no shortage of cute fuzzies running around. I'm sure if I try and list them all I'll miss a few but if I do say so myself the toony crew had some my favorites out there in the con. Aura, Aurora, Taiko, Ghimno, Tabbie, Tahoe and Howee we're all awesome out there on the floor.
Loads of great food was had too. I got to have some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza which was really delish. It was like having a pizza casserole. Also the final night a few brave toony souls ventured out into the painfully cold winds to make it to the Hofbrauhaus. The beer flowed, mugs were full of knives, and fursuit spanking. Yes, exactly that.
I did get a couple wonderful doodles in my sketch book from Eli and Raccoon Drew just done because they're swell folks. I'll scan and upload them up to FA soon after I finish catching up on all these submissions that piled up in the last week.
The best times though at the con wasn't the con events, or suiting or art or food. The best part of the con was seeing and spending time with my friends and even making a few new ones at that:
Aurora-fox,
Aurafox,
Dingoroo,
Eligecos,
Scruffkerfluff,
Koebi,
Kingdomfiend,
Taiko_shepherd,
Tahoe,
Howee,
Elliotthebunny,
JDpuppy,
Tabbiefox,
Ghimno,
Kipper, and
raccoonDrew.
Thanks you all for making this con amazing!
P.S.
You all should have gotten chicken now instead of burgers later.

FC 2013
General | Posted 13 years agoHey folks. I just returned last night home from an amazing trip up to FC 2013. It was my first time venturing up to this con and I have been hearing all sorts of great stories about how much fun the con is, particularly from aurora-fox. Since around shortly after FC 2012, both of us including jasufox began to make arrangements for this convention trip.
Me,
jasufox and
aurora-fox all shared a room at the Marriot. We arrived on Day 1, Thursday. The best thing for me this trip was I got to take out my fursuit made by donthugcacti of the black critter Coffee Fox. It was lots of fun especially to see some friends who didn't know it was me under the suit at first.
I did pick up some art at the convention. I picked up a sweet badge from marymouse, a coloured piece from kipper, and a pencil sketch from teaselbone. So I'll make sure those get posted up later.
At the con I went to some of the events. Of course the big one was the parade which I marched in. If you have seen a video I am right in between dragonvee and vermyfox dodging Vee's giant ears and whumps on the head from Vermy. I did go to the photoshoot as well and got some snapshots taken. Uncle Kage and 2 put on a pretty good comedy show. Participating in the critterlympics was a blast though I think I'll skip it next con. Some parts of the games looked a little rough and I'd hate to damage my suit in the process. Then FC Unleashed at the end on the convetion was an amzing show. I had some good laughs especially at drunk videos.
I also got to meet some new people and put some faces to names. It was also grand to see some old friends too. Great people like rubberskunktoo, swatcher, werewolfnl, durj, astroQ, vermyfox, brownwolf, woger, gamerwolf84, Miles (has no FA?), abbywolfox, spex and all the others!
Also one big thank you again to Jasu and Spex and Aurora. Saturday night I seemed to have had a bit too much to drink. Spex and Jasu made sure I made it back to my bed where I had apparently had some drunk crying jag. Details are fuzzy. Aurora then stayed with me to make sure I was okay and also got me some refreshments to keep me from getting dehydrated. You guys are the best!
All in all the trip was amazing. I had some great roommates and I hope we all can do it again for next FC!
P.S. I forgot to mention the best meal was getting to sit down and have some nice steak down at Gordon Biersch. For the final night we went out with
cupricfox and
chancewolf to have some great dinners. Thats the way to live. With the con going on it's easy to just go and hit fast food constantly but a decent meal at a real restaurant is a great way to unwind a bit. If you're up at FC next year and have a little group of 5 or 6, I highly recommend hitting up that place. Next year we're going there again for sure!
P.P.S. I can't believe I forgot to mention the great dinner Saturday. Zaseishin and Velute came down and took us out for some soul food. It was really great to get to meet them in person and let them get a chance to see a fur con in person. Maybe next year they can stay a little longer and maybe check out some of the events and things going on. Thank you again Zase and Vel! <3

Califur 2012
General | Posted 13 years agoI was just thinking today that I haven't ever wrote a journal on FA, and I should probably change that and put in something about this last weekend. Califur was last weekend and I had a pretty good time as usual. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I also got to have a little fun at a couple con events. I had a full hotel room with jasufox blueotter and opturk . It was especially great to see the otters again all the way from Oklahoma. It was Blue who did convince me to come to my first CF back in 2006 when the convnetion was in a little Holiday Inn.
It's definitely gotten much bigger since then but I have a feeling the convention may be starting to get some growing pains as it is right now. I think a real improvement this year was the absence of the Weenie Roast people since they had their event a couple weeks before the con. There is still an issue with the hotel and its location. I've done many road trips across the country so have stayed in a lot of hotels and this one really has to be the worst in terms of location of food. Just about every hotel I have been to in the US from little local Bates Motels to the huge towers in a metropolitan areas, I can leave on foot and find a decent place for food within a couple minutes. For example, on late Friday night I was with the gang and we were really hungry. We were getting tired, closing in on midnight and we can't even stumble on foot a block to a GD Waffle House. Nope, we all have to get a convoy going and find the closest place that is open at the hour. Unfortunately that is a problem that the con can't really fix if they keep using the Marriot.
I did have a good time at the poker tournament run by bigfootcat again. Last year I was runner up, but this year I didn't fare as well. But hey I am not beating myself up over it. It's always a lot of fun, and the tables I played at ran much more smoothly than last year (no meth heads at the table). Tabbicus is also a pretty funny guy, keeping the game light hearted for everyone even as he does all the work and math.
Also a cerain fancy fox, mister aurora-fox kept me busy on Saturday as his camera man which was fun. We got some pretty good footage of elevator con and the parade which he edited together and put up on youtube: http://youtu.be/fA5qEEqOeKk
The con's pretty short, it starts getting up to speed Friday afternoon and is pretty fizzled out by Sunday morning. It's definitely not the long epic week Oklacon is, but it's still a good little relaxing con. My next endeavor is going to be my first Further Confusion in January. A long con like Oklacon, but with about over three times the population of Califur. Thinking of it gets me all excited, like going to my very first convention all over again!
