Well, actually, I've been sick for hte past week x.x Turns out I got some upper respiratory infection that's been plaguing me since last sunday x.x Just now went to the Dr. and got some antibiotics for it :c I've already missed 2 days of work last week and now I gotta miss 2 more days x.x UGH!!!

Okay, so anyone who's played Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver are probably painfully aware of the removal of the slot machines in the game corners, and the inability to purchase coins in order to get the rewards (namely the useful TM's), and the implementation of the "voltorb flip" game that replaced them.

But why? Why would the pokemon company/gamefreak do this to us loyal pokemon players? I remember reading somewhere that they did it because the slot machines "promoted gambling" or something like that.

So, I figured, okay, that's a semi-reasonable thing, in this day and age with parents coming down on game companies to make their games not have bad things in them (lol?). I suppose it's understandable that a game, like pokemon, that's meant for younger kids would have gambling shunned, right? We should give props to them for raising their morals and removing gambling from the game, right?!

So, can somebody explain to me why the game has "scratch off cards" in the battle frontier? Did everyone overlook this?

Oh, no, kids! Gambling is bad for you! But, the Lottery is fucking A-OK!

Now maybe this is just me being a pessimistic douche-bag, but for some reason I think saying "Happy New Year" is kinda silly and redundant.

If you really stop and think about it, telling somebody to have a "Happy New Year" is kinda like saying "be happy for the entire year" when you and they both know that they're probably incapable of being happy for, literally, the entire year. At that point it becomes arbitrary to tell them that they should be happy for the whole year, but this is all under the presumption that one is 'telling' them to have a happy new year, rather than 'wishing' it for them, which is the context everyone uses, of course. The wording of "Have a happy new year" still sounds more like an order than a wish, though, at least on paper.

Maybe it's just because I've been in a somewhat depressed mood as of late, stuck with my parents in their god-aweful house, filled with all their crap that my Dad is too lazy to finish cleaning up and my Mom refuses to knuckle down and make him work on cleaning up (with out giving up shortly after, at least). My living situation is shitty, and I miss having my own place. At the same time, though, I know there are plenty others with much worse living situations; not everyone has parents to live with after losing their apartment like I did. However, that of course doesn't change the fact that I'm still grossly unsatisfied by the whole situation.

Maybe the reason I hate people wishing me a happy new year is because I know this year isn't going to be any better than last. My only hope of moving out of my parents house lies with moving out of the city, quitting my job and being unable to finish school without driving like 90 minutes to Downtown Louisville. And again I realize that there's a lot of other people that are worse off than me :c I also hate it when people tell me that. I'm not contrived enough to take solace in the thought of other people in more pain than me. That doesn't fix my pain.

But all of this said, it's probably just me being a depressed little bitchy wimp xp My mood will shift eventually I think. Need to do something fun. At least I am thankful for the friends I have to hang out with.

I hope everyone has an adequately happier new year this year than their previous years. I'm just not convinced mine will be, but we'll see <3

I got me a car today :D It's a 98 Chevy Prizm (gayest name ever D:) and it's really old but it was only $3k and is in good condition :3 so I is happy! x3333

So I got my drivers license last monday and now I'm aiming to buy my first car o.o But I really don't know where to get started xp

I wanted to get a Volkswagen Beetle but they're crazy-expensive so that's probably out of the question for now.

I have about $5000 saved up right now, and I want to buy one outright without dealing with financing.

Would anybody have suggestions as to how to get started? o.o Should I look at big dealers? Small dealers? eBay? Craigslist? And what kind of car would ya'll recommend?

I don't know why I get so pissed off at people uploading pics that they didn't do o.o I know it's not against TOS so long as credit is given, but for some dumb reason when I see an amazing drawing and then read that it's done by some other artist, it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason >_< Does anybody else experience this, or am I the only one? o.0


The two main reasons that it bugs me is 1: I hate doing searches and seeing the same image posted twice, or worse, three times or more (cause everyone in the pic has to upload it), and 2: It's easy enough to /fav commissions/gifts/etc. Uploading other people's work turns the site as a whole into more of a journal site (cause ya'll know how much I love journals) rather than an artists site.


I think that FA should add a new tab onto the artists page.
User Page - Commission Information - Journals - Gallery - Scraps - [b]Commissions/Gifts[b] etc
So people can choose to mark submissions as such when they upload them and they will not appear in searches. Or, instead of actually uploading them again, they could go and "mark" the artists work as "Their Commission" similar to a new "Favorites" tab, that way you don't have to see the same image appear on the main page and such.

So the word is finally in from Atari and Intel's contest, and my submission placed 3rd for Best Matinee. I'm both very excited but also disappointed at the same time o.o I know I should be glad I placed (I beat out all the other submissions that had either entire teams behind them, or better software/hardware platforms, or both). But at the same time, I think the submission that got 1st really shouldn't have. Maybe it's just me being biased and a sore loser, but I think the 2nd place submission really should've taken 1st, and me 2nd IMO.

But, placing 3rd means I'll be receiving a check for $1500, and I get the title of being an Award-Winning animator/level designer :3 I guess that's something to boast about <3

So, yah, you might remember this video "Cylindric Router (Fright Machine)" that I posted a couple months ago, and I may or may not have mentioned that I also entered it in Atari's "Make Something Unreal" contest. Well, as it turns out, my video was chosen as a finalist under the Matinee/Machinima catigory of the conte...st (the catigory I submitted it in, no less) as one of 8 finalists of the 19 submissions (only 19?).

What does this mean? I have a chance at a 1st place prize of $5000? Eh, technically yes. Of the 8 finalists, the 5 top-ranked submissions will win a prize ($5000 for 1st, $2000 for 2nd, $1500 for 3rd, $1000 for 4th and $500 for 5th) and I'm assuming those placed 6th-8th don't get crap. Either way, my video was chosen as one of the top 8, so I have a chance of placing for a prize. However, the cool people over there at Atari decided to not notify any of the finalists that they had been chosen (or, at least not me and 1 other submitter) as a finalist. So, I'm guessing they haven't contacted me either because I've been disqualified or because I didn't place in a paid position.

I've been really bummed about it and really anxious to find out what is going on. What was supposed to happen was from November 1st to the 13th, the submitters would have a period where they can re-submit their projects after polishing them up for the final judging, however neither me nor at least one other person has received any information. Best case scenario is they have just been delaying the notification (since it hasn't been posted on their main page yet, in fact I had to browse their forums to discover that I actually was a finalist in the first place) and they will push back the deadline for re-submission.

I don't really care about the re-submission anyway, since going in and polishing it up and re-recording it would take a lot longer and more work than I'm comfortable with. I just wish they would contact me and confirm that I actually AM a finalist or at least have the nerve to tell me that I didn't win -.- So I don't know. I hope ya'll will wish me luck and all that good stuff, and hope that my video will be scored high enough to finish in a paid position. I doubt it will make 1st place (though would be amazingly good for me if it did), but even 5th place would be wonderful. I am hoping and very anxious about it, but I'm trying my best to not get my hopes up really high just in case I don't place in a winning position. *sigh* I wish I hadn't stumbled onto this post in the first place :C I wish they would at least contact me to let me know what's going on, or at least post updates on the website or their forums.

So, yah, I've been depressed lately :C Things have been funky around my place lately, my roommate is being more dick-ish every day, I'm sick of having to work 3rd shift on weekends then go straight to school all day on weekdays, and a lot of other little things have been culminating in a whirling cesspool of utter bullshit for the soul purpose it would seem of pissing me off.

What bugs me the most is that nobody ever tried to talk to me anymore, on AIM or IRL. All the friends I've made seem to have just up and vanished, and I guess I'm just too socially inept to make any new ones.

So, yah, I just wanna QQ about it here and maybe get some encouraging words from those who watch me to make me feel better <3 So if ya have any, please post them :p

Okay so in my previous post, I said I was offering commissions for my flash drawings/animations :p well, for now, I'm blowing that out of the water x3

I've actually been having a great deal of fun drawing and animating in flash that I want some people to request so I can have more inspiration to draw :D

So, yah, I've discovered that making faces in flash and animating them is actually pretty easy when you get the overall process down xD sure they don't look "super fancy", but I liked how they came out :p

Assuming you're watching me, then it's safe to say you've seen my animated RCT foxhead :D sure, it's not state of the art x3 but I thought it looked good :p plus, it was my first try... with flash D: o.o well, okay, it's not my first ever animation with flash, but it is the first time I've ever tried drawing and animating a character in flash, and I thought it looks pretty good for a first try at doing so :3 You can also see the Sentai face that I made there too x3 Haven't animated it yet, though I probably will in my spare time.


So, I'm offering, to anyone who wants one, a flashy head animation! $2 for something simple like the foxie one, or $5 for something more complex (per your request, so you can choose whatever kinds of faces you want him to make). You'll need a reference pic with a clear view of your character's face so I can trace it. (yes, I trace D: sorry)

If you don't wanna blow money, feel free to reply asking for a request xD If I think your character is interesting enough, I might draw him for free :p probably won't animate it, but I could definitely use the practice too xD

Anyway, figured I'd post a journal entry and see if anybody read it, since it seems I have fallen off the face of the planet, lost to the void reavs of school, work, more work, and WoW.

All I know about FA is that I've not received any comments on my own works for months, so what does that say for me? "WTF!?" That's what it says for me o.o

Well anyway, I've been so bloody busy with 2 jobs (36-40-ish hours a week combined) as well as College classes to be able to do much of anything else besides play WoW and chat online every now and then. Schedules suck D: I miss summer when I could just do whatever I wanted all day xD yay, summer!

Well anyway, I work at the dreaded evil vials of Wal-Mart now, as well as my other job as a Math Tutor down at the college, where I also attend classes. Money is good, but working sucks o.o :p not fun, not fun at all, sir!

I've not done a radio show in ages, since there's just not enough interest in it anymore. I loved it when people actually looked forward to the show and listened to it the whole way through o.o but those days are gone now, sadly -.- perhaps to be one day ressurected o.o but not right now, anyway.

Well I dunno o.o I'm at a bit of a crossroads in my life right now, I think. I've been slightly depressed lately as well. Not to turn this place into my livejounal or anything :p but I do think I could use a bit of support. Being in school and work has kept me away from my friends a lot lately, and it's taking its' toll on me mentally o.o particularly when many of my wal-mart co-workers hate my guts for some weird reason o.o *sighs* I dunno, what with all of that, and the problems with my mateship growing ever worse, it's just an annoying situation to be in right now -.- I'm wishing for somebody who would be there for me, unlike my mate D: I dunno what I'm gonna do. Eventually I plan to move out, since another rooming opertunity has presented itself, but I'm not sure yet. My general plan is to finish up the fall semester, save up some money, perhaps buy a car (probably not) and figure out what I'm gonna do about my living situation.

Anywho, the only real reason I'm even posting this is cause I wanna see if any of the ... o.o wow, I have 51 people watching me xp that's a bit more than I had expected to find when I went down to look there. That's not actually too bad, though then again I'm sure some of you may read this and be like "why did I watch this guy again? o.o"
