Gen's Gaming For Kitties is coming up in less than a day. Go support, even if it's to pop into the tigerdile channel and say "Yay Gen". I'll be there sporadically, definitely on the early part since I developed the raffle system that she uses.

Questions I invariably will get/have gotten over the years: Yes, some games have "descriptions", those are pulled directly from the Steam Store where I can. I have no control over that content. It is as random as a computer can reasonably generate. Yes, I know what pseudorandom is. No, I don't collect your e-mails for anything. The only two people who have any access at all to the system is me, and Gen. And your emails are collected automatically for Gen so that she can send prizes to the proper people. No, even as the developer, I cannot predict or force a drawing. There is absolutely no way for the raffle system to know what you donated, or if you even donated. it IS NOT REQUIRED to donate to get into the raffle. (In fact, to require you to donate, would be declaring it Gambling, and making the raffle against a law somewhere.) And besides, I have no idea who donates anyway. Yes, I can see what's in the possible upcoming raffle items, Yes I can see who won. No, I cannot force gen to call one because you want it. However, I step away from the admin console during the entire Kitties unless Gen explicitly asks me to. Unless there is a technical reason, I No Touchy. And yes, if I see an item I have interest, I do enter my name in the drawing. I've probably put in about 200 hours over the life of this raffle system. Yes, if you do a charity event like Gen's I will, of course, help you get a similar raffle system, for free, because I'll do most anything for a good cause.


EXTRA LIFE IS COMING.

Valentine, Moxie, and Myself will be streaming our annual Gaming Marathon NEXT WEEKEND, November 4th for the Extra Life charity. I am going to post more about this next week post-Kitties, Last year Val and I streamed six hours of minecraft, and she streamed a 6 hour Single Session Clear of Kirby's Return To Dreamland. This year with some new hardware we've got Super Mario Odyssey(probably), Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8 to add into the mix. And if I can work it out right, Valentine will be probably streaming Pokemon Moon off my 3DS. Because Reasons.

Some information that can be shared;
His brothers are amazing guys and are also artists in their own regards. They do have the interest to see to it that Gene Catlow is completed. As well as properly preserved. I will be working with them to help preserve his online presence however they see the need for. The strip will be completed. However, WHEN? that depends on a lot of things. How hard will it be to find and recover his notes. He didn't just have /A/ computer to store his notes. He had /many/ computers. And who knows what kind of problems we'll run into trying to piece it together. Work out what he intended. Fill in anything he didn't write down. (And there's a mountain of paper notes as well)

It will happen, but right now, there isn't even a timeline. Updates will happen as they can.

The memorial is this coming Saturday, April 22nd, Vallejo California 11am. If you are going, please note me and I'll send you the location information.

If you are intending to go to the service, it will be on April 22nd. If you are seriously going to go, note me for the location. I do not have an official /TIME/ of things, but at least I have a date so that anyone who wishes to come, and needs to plan/travel, can.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to inform everyone who knew him, that Albert Temple, known by most of us as Gene Catlow, was found dead of natural causes in his home at 11:20pm Thursday, March 9th. He just celebrated his 59th birthday last December.

I was going to write out and document the events that lead to us here... But at the end of the day it doesn't change things.

One of the greatest and most generous people I have ever met has passed away.

Albert unflinchingly supported everything and everyone he came across. He was a fan and follower of everyone. This was a man who never said a negative word about anyone, to even imagine him being angry is impossible... I've only known him for a little more than twenty years. But I will say it was an honor to have him as a friend.

Please share this around, so that everyone who knew him can be informed. We are still trying to get ahold of family, but in discussion with the police, it was cleared as being okay to inform friends. There are no details as of this message beyond what has been said.

EDIT: I have spoken to his nephew. Information will be provided when/if they detail it out.

May is Lupus Awareness Month, and well, let's face it, it's one of the most misunderstood diseases out there. It's hard to diagnose, it's invisible, most people only know of it through a running gag on House (and therefore don't take it seriously), and it currently has no cure. Treatment for it can involve anything from NSAIDs and anti-malarials on up to chemotherapy, steroids, and biologic infusion drugs. It attacks the body in many different ways, and it's unpredictable. Long story short; lupus sucks balls.

The symbol for lupus awareness is a purple butterfly, or really anything purple. So I just wanted to ask (and only if you want to, I don't want anyone to do it if they don't want to), if anyone's up for it, if you could sneak a purple butterfly or two into your art this month? Or maybe just draw your character wearing purple, or purple butterfly wings or something. :) And then maybe go check out lupus.org to read up on other ways to help out.

I started playing the Gunner class last night for about an hour, and let me tell you, having played Tera for about two years on and off, the class is a LOT of fun and easy to learn. And for now it looks like it will stay rather easy to play. Certainly more so than my Sorcerer... Highly maneuverable, and now the game UI puts a "attack zone" graphic around the area where the mob will hit. So its easy to know where to jump out of. And when the hit lands you can not be there.

on Steam Integration;

I will say I'm glad TERA went to the Steam CDN. I re-installed the whole game on my computer, and it went at full speed, far, far faster than the original install did. I need to disable the steam overlay keys, because some of my characters use F1-F12 in the skill bars. (Sorcerer is practically like typing a book, there are so many skills and keybindds to use.) I'm used to using F12 for "Auto-Loot Pet" (a VERY nice thing to have.)

So if anyone is playing, and on Mount Tyrannus, And would like to Guild up, send a guild application to "Sexy Tuesday" the guild... thats mostly me... well 90% of it is me. This weekend, Vinci is going to be out on an adventure. So once the kids are in bed, I might stream TERA for a bit on Friday/Saturday. And if I don't, perhaps get a regular stream playing and trying to get people to join or enjoy or so on.

So I've been playing TERA,( http://tera.enmasse.com/ ) a mmorpg, for about two years or so now. I really enjoy it, its free to play, and I can enjoy the game at a very casual pace because of family matters. Its been free to play for quite a while, and is now coming to Steam (May 5th)

I'm pondering doing a stream on Sunday to show off why I love the game, and go from there.

Thats my tank... A nerdy bunny, in armor, carrying a giant carrot with a big leaf for a shield... Tell me that is not cool as hell. I've other characters of course, I'm an Alt-Aholic.. But he's one of the more fun to run around as.

So is there any interest? Its not a /furry/ game as per se, but you can obviously get your fur on. I run a guild on one of the high population PVP servers (Mount Tyrannus) and I'm looking for people to make Awesome Happen.

Word on PVP:

A lot of people are usually "I don't want to get involved in PVP." Honestly, its not that bad. Other than a few easily avoidable places on the map, and in other avoidable ways, PVP rarely happens. (There are huge PVP zones, but you can avoid them easily) And the cool thing about PVP, is that you don't lose anything if you get killed. It /does/ happen, but unlike EVE, you lose nothing by being PK'ed.

You need:

A decent PC. Sorry Mac people, unless you've got a Beefy Mac, vmware/virtualbox isn't going to work,. bootcamp might, but I'm not a mac gamer. Its a 30-ish gig download, but most MMOs are. and its Made Of Gorgeous.

I'll do a stream tomorrow evening I think let people see for themselves. I really like it, and its a good and very enjoyable way for me to unwind after the kids are in bed.

Meri (probably) killed his first piece of hardware today. Unfortunately, it was my cellphone. Valentine didn't think anything of it other than "There's games on it, Daddy lets me play on it. I'll let Meri play with it." Phone goes in mouth, daddy finds out a few minutes later, daddy opens up phone, spit drips out of the back of the phone. Phone powers up, but touchscreen does not respond. I can use the plug in headset to receive calls, but that Will Not work for more than short term.

Webcomics.. Because you want to do something cool that isn't available else where. Good thing there's this guy who can write code. And live stream sites (Because y'know, some people want to do something that a streaming place doesn't like. I hear some sites don't like music while you game, I hear some don't like non-drawing artists... hey, if you own your own streaming server, YOU get to decide... neat huh?) Sites start at $100, come with your own hosting for a year, and a domain name if you need one.

So now unless the "dry your phone out" tricks don't work.. I'm out a phone for a few days. I have my old phones I can revert to until my "renew!" comes up in March.

I'd draw commissions if I could. But I put all my skill points from leveling up in "Computer" trees.

Had a rather "Interesting" day.

Long story short, three car windows smashed. Nothing Stolen, spent 3 hours cleaning the car. (I can't just sweep it out, we use this car to carry our kids, so it had to be "rub my bare hands over every surface, get even the tiniest flecks of glass" clean.) Police report filed, but with nothing stolen it gets filed as "Vandalism". Still, filed the report. Insurance claim filed. Repairs scheduled.

Insurance is covering most of the damage, save for the deductable. I can't /not/ pay it. So... I'm expanding out my website commissions to five more open slots, I have no intention of begging for money, or asking for handouts, I was not raised that way. I want to work to offset the unexpected cost, and commissions are what I can do. Heck, I'd do a 24 hour fundraiser and take hourly hotsauce shots. 8)

I can do quite a lot. Please, chat me up if you have any remote idea...
