Posted 13 years agoI was with a friend in this huge warehouse or store of some sort with all these strange, slightly scary characters, kind of like the characters from Nightmare Before Christmas except actually scary instead of endearing, who would perform these actions on a loop, conversing with each other, going about their business in the store, over and over, in the exact same way. Their actions either gave hints about how to get through the obstacles in the building, as it was clearly some kind of game, or obstruct your path, and woe to you if you attempted to stop or delay their repeating behaviors. Like I said, scary.
I remember that the task I was currently trying to complete involved jumping down a long pit with water at the bottom in a precise way, in unison with my friend, who was able to do it, but I was terrible at it and had to keep trying over and over. Eventually we got tired and gave up, and I left the building, and was promptly greeted by a clown, and I remembered at the last second one of the things that the people in the building said was "defeat the clown by spinning" but it was too late, and the clown killed me.
Then I woke up in the parking lot of the place and I said I quit and a women in a convertible came up and we drove off.

Zombie Apocalypse and George W. Bush
Posted 13 years agoSo I had a dream last night that there was a zombie apocalypse. At first, it was just me and a couple of my friends, running around, trying to survive. At one point we went into the Pentagon, one of the few safe places left, but one of the top generals was harboring zombies and was trying to "breed" them to make a stronger zombie. Of course, they broke out and killed everyone in the Pentagon.
Then I guess I was in a time loop, because it all started over again, only this time I remembered everything that would happen. So, when my friends and I got to the Pentagon the second time, I told George W. Bush that I was from the future and that one of the generals was harboring zombies that were going to kill everyone. For some reason, he just immediately believed me, so we went to stop the general, but it was too late, so we had to escape. Eventually, we ended up at my old dorm from college which I stopped to give my friends a tour of (dream priorities, eh) and of course while this was happening, the zombies invaded, so we had to hide in my old dorm room. We cut through the screen in the room and fled down the fire escape, which is when I woke up.

Dream Space Spider Game
Posted 13 years agoHad a dream that I was playing a game where spiders invaded from space. They came from a giant mother ship spider and when they were all dead, you had to go back to their origin place, a giant space station with many different environments. On the space station the spiders could combine to form larger, more powerful spiders that combined their abilities. Eventually they could even make new motherships and the motherships could combine to make stronger ones. A bunch of people playing the game purposely allowed the motherships to combine to make more and more powerful ones for the challenge.

Posted 14 years agoI know you guys made it up by combining the beginning of one of the names I came up with with the end of another, but apparently a corbel is an actual thing. Its the piece of stone that juts out from a wall to bear weight.

Things About Me:
1. I'm a fairly good singer (been in several choirs and been a soloist) and I used to play the piano
2. I'm a lover of strategy board games (favorites are Carcassone and Puerto Rico), though I don't get to play as much as I'd like to.
3. I play Magic: the Gathering (I attend all Prereleases and FNMs) and have been playing since 1999 (Urza's Destiny was my first set).
4. I like comic book characters, but I don't actually read any comic books (my favorites are Beast, Congorilla, pretty much any gorilla based character, Hulk, Magneto).
5. I have never played any sports in any kind of meaningful way. They just don't interest me.
6. I like weird things. As in music, art, books, etc. I crave difference and the unusual in my media.
7. When I was young, I used to draw video games. Like I would draw each screen of each level from the start of the game to the end. I didn't pursue this endeavor past childhood though, so I never developed my drawing skills.

Classical music. All of it. The Medieval to the Post-Modern crazy stuff. I also like jazz music, mostly instrumental stuff, but I can get into some jazz singers too. I've loved video game music since I started playing video games (I really think this is what got me interested in classical and jazz) and on a related note, Chip Tune music (music made with synthesizers made to sound like video game music). Recently I've been getting into some indie internet bands too.
3. What will you be/are you/did you major in during college?
I majored in psychology in undergrad and now I'm in grad school in history. As to what I'll be, I hope I can teach at the college level someday.

6. $50,000 shopping spree, what's in the cart?!
Every Magic card I want, new computers (I'd get a desktop and a laptop), I dunno probably a bunch of video games and books. I'd have to think about each individual thing. Can I get things that don't fit in a shopping cart, like a Mediterranean Cruise?
7. Do you speak any other languages?
I sort of speak Spanish. I need to get back into practicing, I've lost a lot of that since I last studied it.
8. Been to any concerts recently?
On my birthday I went a symphony concert (they played Also Sprach Zarathustra by Strauss, a Beethoven piano concerto and Wagner's Tannhauser Overture).
9. Favorite story as a child?
Kinda of broadening the definition of child, but The Giver by Lois Lowry, I read when I was in my early teens was one of my favorites.
10. Any underrated books you would recommend?
Almost everyone has seen the movie, but I haven't talked to a lot of people who have read The Neverending Story book on which the movie is based. I highly recommend it. Also, playing into my love of the weird is House of Leaves, a crazy post-modern book about a guy reading a book written by a guy writing about a documentary about a crazy terrifying house.
11. Briefly describe your ideal lifestyle.
I'm a famous, successful writer and I can afford to travel the world visiting interesting places, eating interesting food, meeting interesting people, hearing interesting music and using my experiences to write books people want to read (and buy lol).
