Okay, so a little while ago a friend and I won tickets to a screening of a new zombie movie last Thursday, called The Dead.

Oh my god, it was SO good!

Now, as far as zombie flicks go, it was pretty decent and could stand on it's own merits, but as a movie by itself, taken out of the context of the zombie horror genre, it was great. Absolutely fantastic. The dialogue is fairly minimal, and it actually is a fairly low budget production, but they put so much effort into what they had that it doesn't matter. The effects seem pretty realistic, even though they were greatly constrained by their budget, and they use their dialogue to such great effect it conveys what it needs to very powerfully, even though there's so little of it.

Sorry if my ADD is showing, but wow. This was a great film. If it happens to be showing in your area, go see it. Even if you aren't big on zombie films, I can honestly say that it stands on it's own merits; even if you're just a little bit of a film buff, this is a good movie, go check it out.

Again, it's a low budget film, so it hasn't received widespread promotion, and it's showing in a limited number of locations, but if it happens to be nearby, go check it out!!!

Now, when I think of you, all I can think of is what a two-faced, duplicitous liar you are.
And to think, years ago, I though I could be friends with you.
You were of a different political persuasion than I was; so fucking what? That didn’t matter. I thought you were a decent person back then. Politics didn’t really matter THAT much when I chose my friends.
(Quite frankly, that’s changed, and you’re the reason because of it.)
And you know what? A couple years back, we got along just decently. Hell, I thought we got along rather well, even when I realized just how far right you were. It’s not like I made any effort to hide who I was, and you didn’t seem to have a problem with that back then. Back then, I was able to engage in some measure of self-deprecation, and you laughed back then.
So, what happened?
Well apparently, Obama became president-elect, because that’s about the time you did a complete turn in your attitude.
Suddenly, you weren’t so friendly. Suddenly, politics mattered much, much more on what I can only assume was a personal level.
Suddenly, you started showing your true colors.
You were mean-spirited and intolerant. You became petty and malicious. Sometimes, you started to look like a troll; but not towards me. No, your ire would be turned towards other people, who you would get friendly with, have a chat, and then show just how mean-spirited you truly are.
Something I’ve noticed about you, is you seem to have no problem with disregarding and twisting fact to support you position, particularly in politics, but in other areas as well I’m sure. And I say you willingly disregard ant twist them, because I think you’re too smart to truly think otherwise. If I’m wrong, and you really don’t know better, then you’re the smartest ignorant son of a bitch I’ve ever met in my life.
You know what else I’ve wanted to say for a while now? You’re a racist. You’re a racist, and I know this because I’ve paid attention to some of the shit you’ve said.
I already know you don’t like Arabs. I’ve seen the words you’ve used, and I’ve seen the way you talked about them. Oh, and you hate Muslims, but don’t worry, that doesn’t make you racist, just a damn bigot.
Oh, and while I’m speaking about racism, I remember a journal you’ve posted about a former friend of yours. You wanna know what really should have alerted me to your personality though? I remember, a long while ago when you lived in Florida, that a hurricane was threatening the Gulf, and you know what you did? You posted a journal, making fun of everyone who was worried. And that alone should have told me something was wrong, but there’s more. What happened later, when the hurricane looked like it was headed in you direction, you posted another journal saying, “Fuck, it’s coming here, I’m gonna have to leave.” And so you left to stay with your boyfriend, waiting for the hurricane to come and go. But then, the hurricane changed course, and your home was spared. And ordinarily, one would think you’d be happy your home wasn’t demolished, but were you happy, or relieved?
No, you were PISSED! You were madder than hell that you left to preserve your safety, and the hurricane didn’t hit like you thought it would.
That alone should have told me something was wrong with you.
But no. I was a fool, and thought still that you were a decent person.
But you know what really made me see just the sort of person you really were?
Veterans day, you, claiming to have been in the military, went and posted a journal, claiming you honored and remember the troops who served this country. And you know what, it was a nice journal, it really was.
But earlier in the day, I saw a video that had put me in a bad mood; and the reason why it put me in a bad mood, was because it was about a soldier who had gone to Iraq and sustained a shrapnel wound. And when he went to get treatment for that wound, the military went and stuck him in a room, where they beat him, threatened him, and kept him awake with bright lights and loud music for a month. And they threatened to keep doing so, unless he signed a paper, saying his wounds were due to a “pre-existing condition” so they wouldn’t have to pay for it!
Yeah, that made me mad, and as someone who claimed to be a veteran himself, I thought you would have an interest in knowing shit like that was happening.
And you know what? If youd’ve blocked me and cursed me out then and there, Id’ve had some empathy for that.
But you didn’t. You know what you did?
You deleted the comment, and replied, “This isn’t the place for politics. Get your head on straight.”

When an American soldier goes off to fight for his country and is wounded in battle, and his military tortures him so they don’t have to pay his bill, that’s “Politics” to you?
Fuck you. You’re a liar. And you know what, that was when I finally got the temerity to call you out. I called you disingenuous, because frankly, that’s exactly what you are.
You’re a disingenuous, two-faced, racist of a liar who manipulates fact to make himself look good. And it wasn’t until I called you out, that you found the balls to block me and leave insults on my page.

Good fucking god, it's been too long...

Actually, the reason I'm making this journal is, for a while I've been trying to keep my moral up, and...it's not going so good...

Ever since the end of last year, I've been having to deal with a *LOT* of shit in my life. I've lost people who are important to me, and my friends have lost people who they've loved, people who I knew as well.

For the most part, I guess I've been handling it well, but sometimes you see other people you barely know in pain, and it rips open your own wounds as well.

I'm sorry to bother you all like this, but all of my friends who I'm closest to, I've told this to before, and they have shit they need to deal with as well, so I hate to bother them with my problems I've told them about before. Basically, I don't want sympathy or anything, I just need to let some of this out.

I know this sounds silly by now, but I'll try to get more done in my gallery. But damn, if only life wasn't such a bitch...

Good god, it's been a long time, hasn't it? ><

Well, a number of things are in order.

First of all, it's been...I don't even know how long since I've updated ANYthing in my gallery. I have been busy, but I'd be lying if I said laziness wasn't a significant factor. For this, I'd like to apologize. Some of you I've also promised to leave some feedback on your work, and I'd also like to apologize to those I haven't commented on yet. I haven't forgotten, but...gah! My life's been a little rocky in some areas.

A few weeks ago, my great-uncle Luciano died from pneumonia after being admitted to the hospital for a heart attack. I'd like to say I've gotten over it, but, this was someone who I used to be close to when I was a kid, and before he died I'd started to get close to him again. I'd also like to say that my family was getting along well enough to get matters settled, but unfortunately, my dad's side of the family is horribly dysfunctional and stupid. Right now, it seems they're squabbling about how to divide the money he's left. Frankly, I don't care about that; I just hoped the funeral would be taken care of before the stupid bible-thumpers started fighting each other.

A word of advice: Stay away from Jehovah's Witnesses.

Still, it's best not to dwell on that.

In other, less depressing news, During the Fall Semester at the collage I attend, I was able to make up a number of classes I'd previously failed, which I need in order to get my B.A. degree and transfer. Woohoo.

In any event, I've found myself with an a$$load of time recently, so in the meantime I'm gonna try to get some actual writing done instead of blankly staring at the screen, starting tonight.
