MaverickCowboy just for the hell of it.
1) Who are you?
2) Are we friends?
3) When and how did we meet?
4) Would you kiss me?
5) Give me a nickname and explain why.
6) Describe me in 1 word.
7) What was your first impression of me?
8) Do you still think the same?
9) What reminds you of me?
10) If you could give me anything, what would it be?
11) How well do you know me?
12) Are you gonna put this in your journal and see what I say about you?
13) Would you meet up with me?

General | Posted 16 years agoThe strangest thing happened yesterday...
General | Posted 16 years agoYou see, in my Creative Writing class, we'd started reading one of the works that had been submitted, when the author then tried running out of the building.
We then had to haul him back into the room, where a classmate and I guarded the door while he hid under the table as the story was read.
I must say, that was a first for me...

General | Posted 17 years agoOMG A MEME!!!!
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, it happened. I got tagged for one of these things, so here goes...
----
Who are you?
the REAL Slim Shady (but you can call me Donna)
What is your species?
...
I am going to go off in la-la fantasy land and say DALEKS!!!
Oh that’s nice really. Now, what do you like to do in school? Or if you have ended school what was your best subject?
Lets see...there was English, English, oh and Modern History followed by more English!
Who is you favourite animal of all? If you have more than one please do tell.
...but they're all so fluffy...
Oh really? Why do you like them so much?
...fluffy...
Who is your least favourite animal or animals?
Spiders *shudder*
I see and why is that?
*assumes the fetal position*
Still on the animal theme but to a different subject. Do you like to draw anthros?
I try...
If yes then what type of anthro? (just general, your characters or fan characters?)
...but that doesn't mean I succeed...
What is your favourite type of anthro?
I dunno.
Why?
Because I'm lame like that...
What is your least favourite type of anthro?
See above.
Yeah I see but why?
Also see above.
Do you like mythological creatures? If so which ones?
It's not mythological, but...Daleks...
And why if I may ask?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks5lEn3KHQQ
Yeah that’s a good reason indeed.
Now I have this final question: who will you tag to do this?
...I'm a wuss. Do whatever you like...

Two things
General | Posted 17 years agoOkay, so there's two things I wanted two bring up.
First, I'm having a little trouble with my writing, for no apparent reason, so I would very much appreciate it if you give me a metaphoric kick in the ass to keep me going.
Second, (and this is for my own amusement) I will give you three guesses as to where this quote comes from:
"I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother;
You were very dear to me.
Your love for me was wonderful,
More wonderful than that of women. "
Cheers

Warning: political Journal/displeasures
General | Posted 17 years agoSo, come election night, despite the enormity of all else, I was still highly disappointed to learn that Prop 8 and other initiatives like it were passed all around the country.
Anyway, after looking through my secret pinko communist websites, I decided that I was going to take a moment to voice my displeasures to Andrew Pugno. Now, you may be asking "Who is Andrew Pugno?"
In short, Andrew Pugno is a major contributer to the movement that helped to pass Prop 8, and is working as an attorney to their campaign. In any event, I have sent him a letter, and considering my feelings on this issue, I'm surprised by the civility I afforded him. Below is a copy of the letter I sent.
Mr Pugno,
Speaking as an American Citizen and California resident who lost one of his rights on September 4th, 2008, I was shocked, horrified, and enraged to learn that my people would vote to knowingly remove my right to happiness and equal status in my community. Since then, I have learned that you are an attorney working for those who moved to deny me, and countless others, one of our basic rights to decency and equality. I am writing you now to voice my strong displeasure, in no uncertain terms. What you have stood for, and what you are fighting for, is not only reprehensible, it is pure evil! Many gay Americans have died as a result of hate crime stemming from discrimination, and because of your actions, past and present, you have helped to ensure that many more Americans will continue to die. You have helped to sow bigotry and homophobia in my fair state and country. You have worked to destroy one of the very fundamental pillars of democracy, which is the right of the minority communities to live as equal, respected citizens of society. You have worked to undermine not only our constitution, but the very values that our country was founded upon, that is, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness for all! And if same-sex marriage can be revoked, then where does it end? If the people you worked for decided to remove interracial marriage, would you still help them? What about my right to adopt? For that matter, what about the right of an interracial couple to adopt?
Frankly, sir, I am disappointed in you. But at the same time, I have to thank you as well. It is because of you, that I for the first time, I realized that there were those who worked to sow bigotry and hatred in my community, and even within my family as well. It is because of your actions, that I have decided I will no longer sit complacently as you move to undermine democracy and equality in my country. It is because of you, that I have decided to show others your regressive ideology, and the harm it does to not only California, but to America as a whole. No longer will I stand by and watch as you dismantle my rights and my standing in my country. I swear that I will work to see that Proposition 8 is removed from the California State Constitution, and that I will fight tooth and nail to see that never again will you remove the rights of another human being.
Your's Truly,
Kyle Thomas Perez

Bad news, good news, and a very silly question
General | Posted 17 years agoSo yes, bad news first: Prop 8 passed. So, unless you A) Live somewhere off in the boonies, or B) Are legally dead, then you have no excuse to not have taken note of it
The good news? The city of San Fransisco, as well as numerous other parties, have filed a lawsuit challenging the legality of Prop8; if they can overturn the ban once, then they can do it again!
And oh yes, Obama won (Just in case you didn't notice)
And, last of all: If I were to give someone a hug in a Communist country, could the communist government seize the hug and redistribute it amongst the people?

Vote no on Prop 8
General | Posted 17 years ago'Kay, so I know I don't have a lot of people watching me, but I've decided that this is something that, to me, is important enough to speak out on.
First of all, for those of you who live in California and are eligible to vote, please, please, PLEASE vote no on Proposition 8. Whoever votes yes, I swear I'll rip their lungs out!
For those of you who don't know, Prop 8 is a measure that is designed solely to restrict the rights of gay people by eliminating their right to marriage, by the way of rewriting the California constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman.
When I first heard of Prop 8, it was through a commercial supporting the measure; it was so shamelessly homophobic and alarmist that I would have laughed, had it not been so infuriating at the same time. Homophobia aside, this commercial was so chock full of lies that I'm appalled that it was even approved in the first place.
This is very, very personal for me. I have seen homophobia, and on multiple occasions. I have found it on T.V., I have found it on the radio, and worst of all, I have heard it from my own family, including those that I love the most. It's disgusting, it's hateful, and people have died, and died brutally, because some fucker decided someone was a "homo faggot" and thought it'd be fun to beat the gay kid!
I'm sorry, but this cuts VERY deeply for me. If Prop 8 is passed, it will set a very dangerous precedent not just in California, but in the rest of the U.S. as well. It will pass a legal standard that says that gay people are NOT equal citizens, that our rights are not important, and that the secular principles on which this country was founded hold no meaning. The only arguments that Prop 8 presents are based on the questionable morals of a strict brand of Christianity, which is belongs to a small, hateful group of regressives who would rather see that we live in the dark ages!
I live in a free country, not a Taleban state, and I intend to see that it stays that way. If this measure is passed, it will ruin lives, and it will set a basis for discrimination no less reprehensible that the doctrine of "Separate But Equal"!
Even if you don't live in California, or aren't eligible to vote, that doesn't mean you can't help. Spread the word, and let people know that this measure will destroy people's lives.
One more thing: the people here who are trying to ban gay marriage are the exact same people who have been trying to ban interracial marriage. If you do decide to spread the word, be sure to include that.

General | Posted 17 years agoA not at all very important update
General | Posted 17 years agoSo I woke up this morning, minding my own business, and it suddenly occurred to me that the day before had been my 19th birthday. It's a strange feeling, forgetting one's own birthday.
So to celebrate, a couple of friends and I went to San Francisco and tooled around for a bit. Didn't do much of anything really, but it was fun; except for the moment when some random chick came up to me and tried to sell me Acid.
Seriously, I was standing there minding my own business and she comes up to me and asks 'Hey, you wanna buy some Dongs?' to which my reply was, "What the fuck is a Dong?"
Eventually, she left, and my friend's cousin then explained to me what 'Dong' meant...
Other than that, all was well!

rain
General | Posted 18 years agoIt's about 3:40 right now. What am I doing up at this ungodly hour, you might think.
I'll tell you what.
It was raining. It was 2:00 and I couldn't sleep one damn bit, and after a while I could hear the rain outside my window, pattering away. And after a while I decided to go out for a walk.
You know what? It's one of the most beautiful damn things ever. To be walking down the street, listening to the rain patter one moment, then hear it running down a rivulet the next. To stop to raise my arms, and lift my head high. To feel the cool drops land on my skin, and to feel fresh water running through my hair.
Have you ever gone walking in the rain? It's beautiful, isn't it?
Meantime, here's a little something you might enjoy.
