Why my horse will always be more important than humans
General | Posted 16 years agoWhy? Well, Pete came home early and I went shopping and spent $60 on diapers, wipes and groceries. FEH. Probably won't last us 2 weeks, but hey, there ya go. What are ya going to do, my #$@%^#@$^@#$^ license is up for renewal and Jew Dork State, the state second to CA in taxes likes to charge me $50 for renewal.
Anywho, I got some BK and went to see the pony (since I picked up apple fries for him) and shared the fries with him, his stable mates and Ruby, and I asked him if I could talk to him, and he backed up to let me in his stall. I leaned against the door and started talking. The convo went like this.
"Pesty, you know what it's like to be ignored, right?"
*snort* :poke: (no shit, mom. You ignore me all the time and leave me here alone.)
Chip (his neighbor) *snort* (please, like you really suffer, asshat.)
Legacy reaches over the top of the stall (Imma bitechoo, asshole!)
"Yeah, sorry about that, I don't have the car because Pete works, and the baby makes it difficult for us to just hang out together like we used to. Sorry, buddy.."
*low nicker* :chest against my back and a head on my shoulder: (I know, mom, I was just making fun. I love the baby. Where baby is?)
"He's in the car, sleeping. I just - it's like now that Luci has her degree, I'm shit again, and I get left alone in the house, and nobody cares about me or understands, and ever since my grandmother died, no-one has understood me. God I miss her."
By this time, the horses in Legacy's wing - Chip, the little guy Dakota, Sunny the albino, and the two old men, Felix and Thumper, are all hanging their heads out with their ears pricked and looking at me. I start to cry and Pesty leans on me and wraps his neck around me, pressing his cheek to my face, and hurrs softly, lipping my shoulder and generally trying to get me to stop crying (he hates it when I cry.)
So I tell him how much I love him, and I'm so happy he's my special baby boy, and he's always going to be my special boy, and we just sit there and he "holds" me with his head until I stop crying, hurring and whickering all the time. Damn, he's a strange horse.
So after some more pets and cuddles, I go get him some grass and come back, and thank the other horses for listening to me. Chip looks at me with soft eyes and puts his nose in my hand and blows, Dakota *unfunf* (he's a short pony LOL) tries to get his head over the stall door and pokes me with his nose, the mare Sunny puts her forehead on mine and blows softly. I ask Felix how his knee is (he has a major bump on it, arthritis - he's 28) and he whickers and puts his nose in my hand and huffs, and this one blows me away - Thumper, the old man (26), steps forward and puts his head from my forehead to my chest and presses against me and blows softly too. Then he picks up his head and drops it over my shoulder, and pulls me to him (and the stall door) and squeezes me like, 3 or 4 times before backing away and poking me gently with his nose.
And THIS is why I love horses more than people. Not a WORD was spoken out loud, except for horse-language, and all they did was listen, and then offer me comfort. And these horses, with the exception of Pest, don't know me other than "the lady with the foal that Legacy says are HIS FAMILY - and who shares her treats with us"

I'm short round and grumpy, and freckled - a POA. ROFL

I'm a roany-butt, apparently.

I can whinny, snort, squeal, groan, nicker, do the deep "huhhuhhu" of a mom to her foal - I'm pretty horse-vocal.

I turn my ass to people that piss me off, I can "harden" my lower face when I'm pissed, and I can kick like one.

I've seen it in the pasture -had to take my gelding off a mare so the pony stallion could do his job. ROFL Legacy was a bit pissed at me. Oh well. LOL

Went riding Friday!
General | Posted 16 years agoAh, that felt good, despite my foot aching like an SOB now.
Me, Walt, mom and my aunt all went down to the barn to go riding. My camera is out of batteries, but there will always be opportunities for pics later.
My aunt rode her horse, Boobie (her nickname) around, and being a typical TB she was doing the snort snort snort snort at the canter, and I was chuckling - she's coming into heat and is being a bit of a pain in the ass. XD Mom rode genius, did some trotting, tested out this new stirrup holder we made so that we don't twist the fender and hurt our knees when we ride. She got off, I went to get on (with Pest trying to bite my ass to get me up faster. LOL the fucker) and it was too long with the new stirrup adjuster, so off they went and back to normal (I have a 40-pound roper saddle that I use, I need a bigger seat though. LOL, or a smaller ass. :lol: )
and then I got on, and did some pattern work and tight leg-turns, really getting better at using leg pressure, making him listen, etc. I think next time I'm going to ask mom to put up the barrels in a cloverleaf and think about trotting around them. Yep, trotting - something I haven't done on him yet, as I didn't feel confident enough.
Then because the side of my foot was killing me, I halted him, backed him a few steps, halted him again, and then dismounted.
I took my helmet off, and we put it on Birdie who was about to come out of his skin with wanting to ride. So we got him on and I led while mom held him in the saddle. I think Legacy was about to burst from the excitement - he scuffed his feet and walked really slow.. didn't flinch when Wally squealed in delight. XD

Why would I want popularity? I mean, seriously, should I care? XD XD
I'm not done laughing, come back in a minute or two when I can stop giggling.
I'm happy with the friends I have here on FA, I meet new people because sometimes I will sit and go through the pictures, seeing new artists and people who interest me, but this ain't no fookin popularity contest. Could, not, care, less.
I'm popular to my husband, my horses and my baby, and that's all that fookin matters. LOL.

General | Posted 16 years agoGot up, had a crappy morning, because human hubby being a turd about our son crying. He's still laying around doing nothing. I'd like to hoof him.
Mom came and got my son, so I could go to the barn and spend some quality time with my big red loverboy. I usually use the "mom" name with him, but I know he probably thinks otherwise. We're part of his herd, and he's the lead... male. (lol geldings, and chestnuts at that.)
Went down, whistled for him, he shoved his "girlfriend" away - a chestnut pinto mare with one watcheye, she's pretty, but an airhead. XD - and clipped on the lead and went for walkies - apples, a few peppermints and the end all - fresh green spring grass. Let him eat for about 15 minutes while I laid in the field and laughed as he ate around me, then got up and we walked back - jogged really - and had another apple, brushed off all the shaggy winter fur that could come off, he touched noses with his "adopted daughter" the percheron mare, and then we went into the ring for some tag and playing around - more chasey-chasey, touching noses with the new mare there and getting "HEY YOU BASTARD MY WOMAN!!" from the gelding that came with her (LOL) and then some 10 minutes of hugs and caresses, standing in the middle of the ring while his "girlfriend" was going bonkers in the paddock because she was ALL ALONE OMG.

Spent about 2 hours with him, just him and me. Like old times. I think we both needed it, and were happier for it.
I love my horse, he's my special man.
Mom came and got my son, so I could go to the barn and spend some quality time with my big red loverboy. I usually use the "mom" name with him, but I know he probably thinks otherwise. We're part of his herd, and he's the lead... male. (lol geldings, and chestnuts at that.)
Went down, whistled for him, he shoved his "girlfriend" away - a chestnut pinto mare with one watcheye, she's pretty, but an airhead. XD - and clipped on the lead and went for walkies - apples, a few peppermints and the end all - fresh green spring grass. Let him eat for about 15 minutes while I laid in the field and laughed as he ate around me, then got up and we walked back - jogged really - and had another apple, brushed off all the shaggy winter fur that could come off, he touched noses with his "adopted daughter" the percheron mare, and then we went into the ring for some tag and playing around - more chasey-chasey, touching noses with the new mare there and getting "HEY YOU BASTARD MY WOMAN!!" from the gelding that came with her (LOL) and then some 10 minutes of hugs and caresses, standing in the middle of the ring while his "girlfriend" was going bonkers in the paddock because she was ALL ALONE OMG.

Barns ridden at: My aunt's barn, another barn up north, a friend's house, Quarry Ridge Stables (my favorite place - it's where I bought Leggers from and we had all our great adventures with the lesson horses - nothing like being greeted by 78 head of horses, and being part of the herd, even though you got fought over by the two "head" geldings. XD -why I has no idea, except for the fact that I always had homemade treats and was always gentle, kind and nice...:XD:) and of course, the places where I boarded my boy at.

But it's also by technicality my first mother's day! Go me!
Walt is getting huge, 6 pounds, 1 ounce and 19 inches, and he still has about 6-7 weeks to go. OW this is gonna hurt, lemme tell ya.
Uploaded some pics, a sono pic and other things. Been working from home as a medical transcriptionist and it's great - I really like doing it, but I'm worried that I won't be able to keep up the line counts. And that really worries me.
May 11th is on me again, so I'm a bit emo. XD
But it's also by technicality my first mother's day! Go me!
