Well I got a job I guess.
Posted 5 months agoI had an interview today for a job that I was pretty sure I would turn down if they decided to offer it to me. The main reason was that online sources indicated that it paid about $17.50/hr, which is just over half of what I was making. Turns out they offered me quite a bit more than that. Still not nearly the $32.20 of my last job, but I wasn't holding my breath for that much.
Yet, even after securing a job, my anxiety isn't any better. In some ways, it's gotten worse. The pay still isn't what I wanted, the work is much more physical than my previous job, the shift sucks ass (10:00pm - 6:30am), and there's less potential for advancement than at my last job. I had to settle pretty hard.
Why did I take a job that I really don't want? No choice, honestly. In the past 5 weeks of throwing out applications far and wide within a 50 mile radius of my house, this is the only place that called me back. Not a single other application got a response, much less an interview. Unemployment is still "reviewing" my case too, so I have no income to speak of. I was afraid another opportunity might not come along for a long while.
The current administration has fired thousands of government scientists, almost all of whom have more experience and better credentials than me. Meanwhile, we're heading straight into a recession, and the available pool of jobs is drying up. Between the heightened competition and the reduced market, I really didn't see much chance of landing what I would consider a "decent" job any time in the near future.
Add into that the fact that I have $85k in student loans to pay off and the Trump administration has all but threatened to come harvest your organs to settle your debt, and what other choice did I have? I could have held out and kept looking, but that would have imploded next time rent was due. Then I'd be begging for money from my mother, who's also unemployed and trying to get disability, or my grandmother, who's turning 82 tomorrow and works part time for just over minimum wage. My only real hope is that eventually the job market improves and I can move on to something better.
So in summation, I took a shitty job with mediocre pay, terrible hours, and a lot of physical labor. It will annihilate my sleep schedule, destroy what small semblance of a social life I have, and cause me excruciating pain on a daily basis. Welcome to Trump's America. The dream becomes the nightmare.

Computer/life update
Posted 5 months agoWelp, I've done all I can. I've done more fiddling with programming in the past 48 hours than the rest of my life combined, I've reinstalled Windows twice, I've replaced the battery, I've replaced the RAM, I've replaced the power cord and power supply, I've put fresh thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, and I've updated, re-downloaded, and rolled back more drivers than I care to think about. Nothing works. At this point, according to Google, the most likely cause is a malfunctioning capacitor or circuit on the motherboard. While I have the technical skill necessary to fix such a thing and the basic tools (soldering iron, solder, solder removal braid, flux), I lack the diagnostic tools to determine which piece actually needs to be repaired, as well as the knowledge of what all these things are called to ensure I actually buy the correct replacement part should I find it. I could take it in to be repaired, but it wouldn't be worth the cost for a frankly outdated machine that was already on its last legs. So that laptop is done, and I'll need a replacement. Something that's going to have a massively inflated cost thanks to Skeletor's tariffs.
As for the life update, as those of you who follow me on Bluesky already know, I lost my job about a month ago. Right around the time the tariffs went into effect. They also contrived reasons to fire most of our other contractors too. My fatal error was having a supervisor who told me to do the wrong thing. My supervisor took responsibility for the mistake and was even written up for it, but I got fired too. Again, since they found reasons to fire almost all the other contractors in the same 2 week period, I'm inclined to believe it's less to do with anything I did and more to do with economic anxiety.
Unfortunately, I'm a biologist, and President Voldemort has pretty much defunded all things science and fired the majority of government scientists. This means that there are now very many people hunting for jobs in a greatly depleted market. It also means that there are tens of thousands of federal workers filing for unemployment, so despite 5 weeks of waiting, my case is still "pending review" and I've yet to get paid. Overall this means that a replacement laptop is unlikely any time in the future unless something extremely lucky happens. A laptop is also not my greatest concern, as I have no income at the moment, so expenses like food, rent, and other basic necessities are also difficult.
Tl;dr Everything sucks and it's all Trump's fault.

Computer help
Posted 5 months agoCan anyone who knows anything about computers please message me? My computer keeps randomly restarting for no apparent reason. The event viewer says the same things every time.
Warning 5/7/2025 6:53:45 PM Hyper-V-Hypervisor 167 None
The hypervisor did not enable mitigations for side channel vulnerabilities for virtual machines because HyperThreading is enabled. To enable mitigations for virtual machines, disable HyperThreading.
Error 5/7/2025 6:54:02 PM EventLog 6008 None
The previous system shutdown at 6:51:58 PM on 5/7/2025 was unexpected.
Critical 5/7/2025 6:53:48 PM Kernel-Power 41 (63)
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
I've already replaced the RAM, run a memory scan, replaced the battery, replaced the power cord and power supply, put fresh thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, got a new 8 fan cooling pad, I've redownloaded all the drivers, I've completely disassembled the laptop and cleaned all dust out and made sure both fans were working perfectly. I'm at my wit's end with this fucking thing. I have no idea what else I can do and I can't afford to shell out $1200+ for a replacement laptop, assuming that price doesn't double from Tritler's tariffs.
EDIT:
I disabled HyperThreading and nothing is better. The computer immediately shuts down as soon as I launch any game. Before it would have a chance of running for a while at least. A new error has appeared in the Event Viewer:

Difficult question.
Posted 7 months agoI want to open something up to the public for comment. My mother got married to my stepfather about 12 years ago. They'd been on-and-off since before I was born. The "off" parts usually came about because of verbally, emotionally, and even physically abusive behavior from him towards both of us. I was in my mid-20's when they got married and did not move back in with them, so while his patterns of behavior continued, I couldn't do much other than advocate for my mother to divorce the prick. She's an adult and has the right to live her own life after all. Didn't mean I had to like it though.
Then, a couple years ago, my stepfather was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Only stage 1, but it's very aggressive and is not responding to treatments. They're down to the final options at this point. It's still only stage 1 thanks to constant surgeries removing the tumors, but if this last treatment doesn't work, the bladder will have to come out. He is refusing outright to have his bladder removed, saying he would rather die. Which he will. It's cancer. It WILL spread eventually and that WILL kill him. The doctor won't continue removing tumors every couple months for a man who's too stubborn to face reality and take the only option left to him, and even if the doctor was willing, insurance wouldn't keep paying for it.
The problem is that I'm telling my mother she should leave him. She was already contemplating divorce due to his extremely abusive and erratic behavior since they got married (and before) and now he's putting her in a position to watch him slowly die and take care of him throughout the process. As soon as the cancer diagnosis popped up though, she immediately stopped considering divorce as an option, feeling that it would make her a "terrible person" for leaving her partner with cancer alone in his "time of need." Despite his continued abuse. Despite the fact she was already in talks with divorce lawyers before the cancer.
My argument is that he's ACTIVELY CHOOSING to refuse the surgery necessary to save his life. Instead, he's being stubborn and knowingly steering his life down the path of suffering and death. He's also knowingly dragging her along for the ride, knowing that she will have to care for him as his health fails. Even ignoring the abuse (which I shouldn't) the fact that he has an opportunity to avoid committing the longest, most painful suicide possible and is refusing entirely because of something about manhood (his dick and balls will not be touched btw) makes me feel that he is breaking his vows to her first.
My question is this: Would she still be a "terrible person" for leaving him under these circumstances. I've been saying no, but she says I'm biased in her favor, which is absolutely true. Therefore, I want neutral opinions on whether she would be justified in leaving if he keeps refusing the surgery or if doing so would make her evil in some way.

Something constructive...
Posted 11 months agoAs tempting as it is to go full-scorched earth vindictive and feed on the inevitable suffering that orange man will wreak upon those who voted for him, that won't really help much. Aside from my thirst for vengeance at least. Instead, I'd like to give some constructive advice in this journal.
First, if you are a Trump supporter, Hi...why are you here? This is not for you and I do not like you or want you here. This Ted Talk is for your enemies, so kindly shoo off my page. Or better yet, leave an angry comment so I can block you.
For anyone who is against Trump and his agenda, I'm now going to piss you off by telling you things you don't want to hear. The main thing is that YOU NEED TO JOIN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. I know, I know, they're terrible. Corrupt, self-serving, nepotistic, almost as bad as the Republican party. Why exactly do you think that is though? The reason the Democrats are so terrible is because the party chooses its own leadership from within the party. Therefore, only members of the party have a say in its leadership. If the party is made up primarily of rich neolibs... You see my point.
The politics in this country is always going to be D vs R, at least for the foreseeable future. You will never, ever change how the Democratic party works by standing on the outside and shrieking in at them. They can't hear you. Piles of money are great soundproofing after all. You always complain that we're given a choice between bad and worse. That it feels like the worst possible candidate is hand-picked by the party elites just to fail miserably. You're not wrong, I'll give you that.
The problem is that you're also treating elections like this thing you do once every 4 years. There's a process behind it. There is a way to put your thumb on the scale and have more say in how things work. You have to actually be a member of the party though. The rules are made from within.
Being an independent is a great way of morally washing your hands of all the BS both parties get up to, but it's also a means of dodging any responsibility for making things better in the future. If people like us don't change things, things won't change. It's that simple.
So hold your nose, join the Democratic party, and start trying to mold things in the image of our generation as opposed to elder liches like Pelosi and Schumer. Sacrifice the moral "high ground" for the ability to fix the broken system. It might mean taking more responsibility, but the trade-off is that you actually have a chance to make things better for yourself and everyone else. Will you alone be able to make a difference? No, get that idea out of your head. Sorry but you are not the Main Character™ and you can't fix it yourself. If enough of us get involved though, the future of the party is in our hands. Current leadership is in its 80s. How much longer can they possibly live?
And to be clear, just going to the post office and registering as a Democrat will NOT make a lick of difference. You need to be active in party politics. It might mean giving up a small amount of your gaming/fapping time to do other, far more boring activities, but still, it'll be worth it in the long run. Sitting around after every election cycle idly complaining about the results or the candidates without having made any effort to affect those things is the definition of impotent whining and virtue-signalling. Yes, we all know Orange Man Bad. Let's instead focus on who's good and how we can get them on the ballot next time.

2025 forward...
Posted 11 months agoI just wanted to remind people that one of the main goals of Project 2025 is to ban all porn and have anyone who creates or traffics in porn permanently registered as a sex offender. I STRONGLY advise getting a thumb drive, portable hard drive, or some other durable means of saving media and immediately saving anything you like while you have the chance. If they keep to their public game plan, before too long, the Inquisitors will be coming through and purging all of our sites with fire, and then decades of history will be gone. The livelihoods of a lot of artists will go up with it. I hope with all my heart that it doesn't go down like this, but I'm just repeating their own goals listed in their own manifesto. For myself, I will be ordering an external SSD and saving as much of the artwork I like as I can. I can only pray it's unnecessary.
Koko's in the hospital.
Posted a year agoI just had to admit my cat to the veterinary hospital. It was only supposed to be a follow-up appointment to see if her blood pressure medication is working properly, but she somehow became extremely impacted in the past few weeks. One of the downsides of a self-cleaning litterbox I suppose. Can't see if she's actually going in it. Anyways, she needs fluids and an NG tube to administer stool softeners. If it had gone on a few more days untreated, she very well could have died from a ruptured colon, so I'm lucky in that respect. What's less lucky is the cost. It's going to be a bare minimum of $4000 to treat her, jumping up to $5500 if she needs to stay an extra day. I can afford it...barely, but it's kind of disheartening finally having a job that pays well only to have all of my money immediately wiped out again. Feels like I'm just doomed to be poor for the rest of my life. At least Koko's prognosis is good...
Current Status
Posted a year agoWell here I am exactly 6 months after starting my new job and...yeah, it's rough. I don't dislike my job, but it is very hard on me in terms of free time. I only work 4 days per week, but I also live over an hour away from where I work, so I spend an extra 10-12 hours each week commuting. Seems like I have the choice of either having enough time to do the things I want, but no money with which to do them, or having plenty of money, but no time at all. Currently, I'm in the latter situation, hence the recent flurry of commissions while also not getting any writing done. I was hoping that I'd have settled into a routine by now, but I still find it difficult. Pretty much from the moment I go to sleep on Tuesday night until the moment I wake up on Sunday morning, I'm stuck in a cycle of drive, work, drive, sleep, drive, work, drive, sleep. I don't even get on my computer or anything on work days. The three days I have off are where I have to squeeze everything that I want/need to do throughout the entire week. Shopping, housework, doctors' appointments, social/family things, etc. all have to be crammed into a few days. I leave for work at about 12:30 in the afternoon and get home at around 1:30-2:00am, so there's no real room for anything before or after that.
Basically what I'm saying is that I have much money, but little time, so expect more commissions, but writing will be difficult. If I can get some done, I will, but I certainly can't make any promises or plans.

Life Update
Posted 2 years agoI realized it's been a while since I posted anything regarding my writing or why it's taking so long. When I put up my last story about 2 years ago, I was just returning to college after finally addressing all the medical issues that have been plaguing me for nearly a decade. It took three semesters, but last spring I graduated with my degree.
Not too long after graduating, I got my first job that required a college diploma. Unfortunately, it was an extremely intense job that had me working over 40 hours per week on average and running around for 12 hours at a time. That job was temporary though, and just came to an end.
Now I'm preparing to start another new job with a much more consistent schedule and much better pay. $32/hr to be specific. That means that my financial stresses should be greatly alleviated in addition to this new job not destroying my body quite so much. I'll be working for the pharmaceutical industry, which I despise but I'd have to have brain worms to turn down a job like that when I have $85k in student debt.
Obviously, all this means that I had neither the time or mental capacity to do any writing over the past two years. Hopefully, however, once I get into the groove of this new job, that will change. I'll be training with an odd schedule for the first 4 weeks I'm there, then my regular hours will kick in. I'll also need to get a new computer, since my current laptop's keyboard isn't really functioning, but taking home about $1000 every week should allow me to handle that problem quickly enough. My hope is to start writing again within the next few months. I might ease my way back into it with a one-off story before continuing the series I've been working on. We'll just have to see how the inspiration hits.

Fixing the problem of science denial and misinformation
Posted 3 years agoAs many people who know me are aware, my education and career has largely focused on the sciences, specifically life science. Biology, medicine, chemistry, etc. I'd consider myself to be WELL above the average layperson in terms of scientific literacy. Even in fields that I don't have much experience in, such as physics, astronomy, and geology, I'm at least passably versed.
As a result of this, I tend to be hyper-aware of the staggering amount of misinformation, disinformation, ignorance, and denial regarding scientific topics online. I frequently find myself returning to referencing the Dunning-Kruger curve and how many people have set up permanent residence at the top of Mount Stupid. I'm not saying that everyone needs to be experts in at least one scientific field, but there are different kinds of people responsible for different kinds of interactions.
1. Apathetic/antipathy - These people either don't know, don't care, or both, about a specific topic. They don't look it up, won't bring it up, and will actively seek to avoid discussion on the subject. This is me with sports. And that's fine. I have absolutely no problem with people who know where their interests lay and want to stick to them. That's respectable in its own way.
2. Internet expert - Everyone knows who I'm talking about...that asshole who read part of the Wikipedia article on a thing, therefore thinks they know everything they need to know about said thing. As infuriating as these kinds of people can be, I actually don't mind them too much either. The willingness to actually go and look the subject matter up on a site that, while not particularly deep, is at least largely factual, is a good sign. These are usually people who are interested in the topic and willing to learn, assuming you approach "teaching" them in the right way. These people may be up on the slopes of Mount Stupid now, but they haven't set up shop, and are usually willing to make their way down.
3. The misled - These are the same sort of people as in the previous group, but rather than going to Wikipedia for their information, they stumbled somewhere...else. The bad part of the internet. Perhaps they believe that all Wikis are created equal and they fell into the cesspool that is Conservapedia (political nonsense aside, that site's pages on scientific topics are absolutely godawful). Regardless, they're now loudly and boisterously touting inane pseudoscience or non-science, thinking they sound smart when they really look like children blathering on about how they think things work. These people require care and finesse. Many are open to being corrected, but if you attack and insult them, they will defend their bad views out of instinct, and the more time they spend defending their warped ideas, the less likely they are to accept the truth. I've seen a lot of well-meaning people completely ruin the opportunity to enlighten someone else by coming at them with smug condescension. Don't do that. If you don't have the patience to gently lead a person away from incorrect ideas, don't try. If you're just looking for someone to shit on, find someone in the next group.
4. The conspiracy theorist/obfuscator/willingly ignorant - These are the people I have the biggest problem with. They speak with confidence and authority. They tend to flaunt (often fake) credentials to give them an air of knowledge and skill that they lack. At the end of the day, they have a specific agenda they're trying to push. No amount of correction or data will get them to change their wrong ideas one iota. They throw out false information with stunning regularity and tenacity. And you can usually figure out their angle by following the money or power. These people are the ones I usually talk about, and they're the ones doing the most damage. Climate change deniers funded by the fossil fuel industry. Medical "skeptics" who always seem to have some connection to alternative medicine (for the record, "alternative medicine" isn't medicine at all... I'm looking at you chiropractic), or people denying things like the shape of the Earth, the nature of space, the Moon Landing, the theory of evolution, or any other of a number of established scientific principles.
Most people in the last two groups will say that they're "just asking questions." That was Cucker Tarlson's constant refrain when peddling his vaccine "skepticism." The key is the ability to spot honest questions coming from a place of misinformation or ignorance vs. disingenuous questions designed to derail a conversation or lead it in a specific direction.
The reason I bring all this up is that it's becoming more and more relevant given recent events. Anti-vaxxers used to be a fringe movement. Now a lot of the American right wing has decided that they don't much like modern medicine. Abortion is becoming a major topic of conversation, and there are people trying to push false narratives in that regard too. And, of course, the big social issue of recent times...gender identity and how it relates to science.
The sad fact is that the United States is a stupid country filled with dumb, credulous people. That's by design. The teaching of critical thinking, analytical, and methodological skills has been squashed in schools for the specific purpose of making people more gullible. Add to that the internet's capability of rapidly dispensing terabytes of misinformation on a daily basis and you have a perfect storm of bad takes.
Unfortunately, for every one person out there who's knowledgeable, scientifically literate, patient, and willing to engage with people to try to teach them how things actually work, there are hundreds who either don't care, block people saying things they don't agree with on sight, attacking everyone with a bad take, or trying to counter the misinformation with bad information or a lack of knowledge of their own. Nothing will reinforce a person's belief in misinformation more than having someone try to "debunk" the idea only to be using arguments that are easily proven wrong.
What we need are more people who are both willing and able to curb the tide of misinformation and actively push back on the flood of wrong that's inundating laypeople. First impressions count, and most people will tend to latch onto the first thing they see on a topic they know nothing about, especially if it sounds like it agrees with their current worldview. It's an uphill battle to try to change a person's mind, but it is doable. Sadly, next to nobody is willing to do so. They'll happily bitch and moan about the effects that so many people being completely back-assward wrong about things has on them, their friends, and the world, but they won't do fuck all about it. Shit, I can't even get
cty_lover to engage with people on the topics of astronomy and physics, things he loves.
What I'm basically saying is that the few of us who are out there fighting the good fight need help. There aren't enough of us to counter the rampant misinformation surging through the internet, and the longer a person goes without hearing a dissenting voice or alternate view, the less likely they are to change their mind.
Please, if you have the knowledge or the skill, push back. If you don't like conflict, just post accurate information and don't directly engage the naysayers. If you don't feel confident enough in your knowledge but have a large platform, use it to signal boost people who have the knowledge, but may not be able to reach many people with it (me, for example).
The world, and my country in particular, is descending into a new dark age not brought on by lack of information, but by too much of it with little to no guidance on what is right. Scientific papers are inaccessible and incomprehensible to most people, while the disinformation peddlers make their lies short, simple, and direct. If we don't stem the tide now, we'll be swept away by it before too much longer.

Welp, goodbye Twitter.
Posted 3 years agoNow that Twitter has decided to sell itself to Elon Musk, I have decided to leave Twitter. I think Musk is a dangerous, toxic man-child who shares far too many traits with the former president for my liking, so I refuse to endorse or patronize one of his services. If anyone who would otherwise try to speak to me on Twitter needs to reach me, they can do so here or on Discord.
Where does the time go...? Also, updates.
Posted 4 years agoIt's officially been 15 years since I created my FA account. I don't recall giving time permission to pass by so fast, but time is like your virginity. Once it's gone, there's no getting it back.
In unrelated news, the pandemic FINALLY seems to be hitting a lull, so I'm starting to write again for the first time in a long time. Working in a hospital, the stress and burnout has been real and unbelievable, especially as time goes on and we lose more and more of our staff. Now that I don't have massive anxiety attacks just at the prospect of going into work and my poor, traumatized brain can start to heal, the creative juices can begin to flow again.
In other, also completely unrelated news, my body has healed quite a bit as well. It's been over 2 years since I've had a kidney stone, and most of my few trips to the ER since 2018 have been due to accidental injuries. Compare that to 5 or so years ago when I was in the hospital once a month or more and was sick, exhausted, and in severe pain every single day. As such, I'm finally returning to college for the first time since Spring of 2017. My education is recommencing and my life is finally moving forward again.
I'm going to do the best I can to write as much as I'm able to until classes start in the end of January. After that, it's impossible for me to say when or if I'll get the chance to write before Summer break.
My course load for the remainder of my time getting my bachelor's degree is going to be heavy. I've gotten all of the easy elective courses I need already, so everything I'm taking from now on is hardcore STEM material. Just next semester, I'm taking Organic Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, and Developmental Biology.
Like I said, I'll write what I can, but anticipate the writing coming to a screeching halt while classes are in session.
That's all, dragon out!

New laptop got
Posted 4 years agoJust got my new laptop, enabling me to actually type. My old laptop's keyboard has been half dead since October. I wrote the last story on my iPad using a keyboard attachment, but it was very difficult. I'm a very big dragon with very big hands, and those tiny, compressed keyboards aren't really ideal for prolonged typing when you're doing the full, two-handed equivalent of fat-fingering constantly. Now that I have a device that will allow me to actually type normally, I'll be getting back to work. Hopefully the next story will be out soon. As a reminder, this one is going to feature

Noah1237Update on writing
Posted 4 years agoYes, I know I only got one story out of a planned series. Unfortunately, my laptop's keyboard is broken. I typed the last one up on my iPad but it was a royal pain in the ass. (I have big hands and that keyboard is tiny, so fat-fingering was rampant.) I'm hoping to get a new laptop soon, and once I do, I'll continue writing forthwith. Until then, I'm pretty much limited to the planning phase.
Go figure that I would need a new car, have a broken laptop, and have my washing machine finally die all at once. Such is life I'm afraid.

Sooo... apparently a non-binary surgery exists
Posted 4 years agoI saw it mentioned on Reddit and decided to look into it. I honestly didn't know it was possible to get a vaginoplasty while keeping the penis, and I WANTED it.
Then I saw the results. It's fucking scary. It looks extremely painful, with a lot of raw, exposed flesh. I'm simultaneously intrigued and repulsed. On the one hand, I'd really like this surgery...on the other, I don't want to hand a doctor a saw and a nail gun and tell him to go nuts on my nuts.
I'm going have to have an extremely hard think about this one and try to find more images from after the healing process has fully completed.
This is the site I was looking at. I'm posting this because I know several of my followers are NB like me and might be interested. WARNING: There is some EXTREMELY graphic shit here. Enter at your own risk.

Further updates
Posted 4 years agoAs a development from my last journal, my emotional state has gone from tumultuous to fucking annihilated. I'm not sure when I'll start writing again. Thankfully, I didn't do commissions, so I'm not on a deadline.
I don't know how "available" I'll be in the near future. I'm taking a break from Twitter, will probably not be on Telegram any time soon, and it's unlikely that I'll be very responsive on Discord either. If you want to try to reach me, feel free, but don't be surprised to get no reply.

Quick story update
Posted 4 years agoThey're still coming. I'm just dealing with some emotional upheaval right now and need to get my head on straight. Also, my mother got me a commission from her boss to cut a gem, so since that's paid and on a timeline, that needs to take precedence.
Hopefully soon I'll be mentally stable, less busy, and able to start work again.

Second Covid vaccine dose PSA.
Posted 4 years agoThis is extremely important. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT work or make any plans for at least two days after you get it. This thing is brutal and will bring you down.
I got it yesterday and put in to work 12 hours today because nobody at the vaccine clinic bothered to warn me about the gauntlet I was about to go through. Fever, chills, cramps, joint pain, numbness and tingling, headache, nausea, dizziness, very fast heart rate. The side effects of this vaccine feel like when I got H1N1 back in 2009.
I want to be painfully, excruciatingly clear here: YOU SHOULD STILL GET VACCINATED! I am not saying this to deter you, but to forewarn you.
I don't know how my day would have gone if I'd spent it at home, in bed as opposed to working my ass off for 12 straight hours. It probably still would have sucked, but orders of magnitude less.
Set up your appointments for your second doses on a Friday, or just before you have a few days off...or take a few days. Don't do my stupid shenanigans.

Story progress going forward. *REQUESTS CLOSED (for now)*
Posted 4 years agoI will be updating this journal periodically with story progress and the names of those who I will try to write about.
I just finished the first of the stories I was talking about in my last journal. I'll be uploading it some time in the next day or two. I usually wait a couple of days between finishing writing and uploading so I can go over it a few times and fix any issues. Since I've noticed that I tend to do a better job in seeing problems with my stories if I wait a while between writing and proofreading, same-day uploads are rare.
Anywho, I'm currently working on a story series including my fursona and those of people who expressed interest in being included in my previous journal.

Anyone interested in being in some stories? (NSFW topics)
Posted 5 years agoI want to try to start writing again. I've been pretty idle on that front for quite a while. I'd like to get working on my novel, but I feel easing back into things with some furry smut stories will help get the creative juices flowing.
I want to actually make myself one of the main characters in most of the stories as well. I've never really written about myself too much and I'd kind of like to explore some of my more niche kinks that I never get to trot out.
Those kinks are:
-Impregnation
-Sounding/urethra play
-Transformation
-Somnophilia
-Oviposition
-Infestation
-Mind control
At the same time, there are certain fairly common kinks that I have either no interest in or an active aversion to.
Bad list:
-Watersports
-Feet/Paws
-Vore (I don't mind full-tour stuff, but no digestion/death at all)
-Excessive musk (some is okay)
-Excessive bondage (some is okay)
-Humiliation/degradation
-Chastity
-Master/pet dynamic
Also, given that I prefer my feral form, my ideal partners would be dragons, large dinosaurs, kaiju, or other large feral creatures (feral on macro anthro just looks strange to me). There are some species, however, that I have a particular predilection for that could potentially convince me to go anthro for some fun. Those are: sharks, snakes (anthro or naga), lizards, raptors, kobolds, anthro dragons, crocs/gators, or any pokemon/digimon that bears likeness to any of the above.
Who knows, if I really like one or more of the stories, I may be willing to get art depicting the best parts. We'll have to see what comes. If you're interested, either leave a comment or PM me.
**Please note that this is going to be something I do in my spare time. I still have a job at a hospital during a pandemic. If I agree to write something including you, there is no set time limit or deadline. Please do not send notes pestering me about progress constantly.**

Reaching me by Discord vs Telegram
Posted 5 years agoI just logged into Telegram today for the first time in months. I'm simply not on the platform very often. The fact of the matter is that I don't like how it shows everyone when I'm online. I can't handle too much interaction, and prefer to keep conversations to 1 or 2 at a time. As such, I just disabled notifications and only log in once in a blue moon. It's not a fast, effective, or reliable way to get through to me. I will still use it, but it will be periodical and inconsistent.
As an alternative, people who wish to talk to me can use Discord. As a disclaimer, I will be showing as offline roughly 99.9% of the time, but I'm on Discord far more often, meaning I will see and respond to messages in a much more timely manner. It likely won't be immediate, and I may not even respond as soon as I see the message (again, I can only tolerate so much human interaction) but the odds of messages going unnoticed for weeks to months is zero.
If you want to add me on Discord, my username is Albeon#9639.

Anyone play DragonVale?
Posted 5 years agoI know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone played the mobile game DragonVale. I currently have 0 friends on the game and I'd like to find someone other than NPCs for things like cooperative breeding. If you do play the game and want to add me and let my galaxy dragons get sum fucc, my friend ID is Albeon#4151
Update on my last journal
Posted 5 years agoOkay, so here's what I found out. As far as I can tell, if Obergefell v. Hodges is overturned, it will not specifically affect my state. Goodridge v. Department of Public Health, the decision that legalized same-sex marriage in Massachusetts, found that marriage rights were protected under the Massachusetts state constitution. Therefore, the Supreme Court of the United States finding that same-sex marriage isn't protected by the US constitution would have no bearing on the Massachusetts decision.
However, any states where same-sex marriage was legalized by either Obergefell v. Hodges or a lower federal court decision would lose the right to same-sex marriage. Couples who are already married wouldn't have their marriages annulled. That would be illegal. It would prevent any future same-sex marriages from being recognized though.
If you live in one of those states, I strongly recommend that you get in touch with your state legislators and try to get a law passed in case Obergefell v. Hodges is overturned. If you live in one of the uber-conservative, religious nutjob states that will never pass any laws protecting their minorities...I guess your best bet is to try to escape the shithole.
