I'M BACK BABY!!
General | Posted 6 years agoOk folks, I've been gone a long while, and the last few times I've said i'm back, i was still facing a lot of personal issues. Not that I still don't have issues (I mean, who doesn't?), but the major contributing factors to my lack of creativity, updates, and activity with any community are now gone. This means, I'm doing my art again!
And this doesn't mean I'm just saying that without anything to show for it, like the last few times. I have content ready for the posting, along with streams, youtubes, comics, and other works in progress.
In short, I hope you enjoy my work and please support however you can, faves and shares are greatly appreciated and please reach out! I also have a discord and twitch where most of the fun goes down.
And this doesn't mean I'm just saying that without anything to show for it, like the last few times. I have content ready for the posting, along with streams, youtubes, comics, and other works in progress.

LIVESTREAM IS BACK!!
General | Posted 14 years agoI've been having some trouble with my computer, concerning the tablet (as you all knew) and also concerning the live stream player. Well, I finally got my tablet to work on my main drawing computer without it shorting out (I had to open it up and clean the thing out. Lots of dust and crap got in there some how).
and the second thing was that my Livestream Procaster (the program I use to do the livestream) (version 20.2) always crashed upon first running the application. So I looked into it, finally, and it was a problem with Version 20.2. :shrug: i dunno. So I downloaded one of the earlier versions, and now it works just fine! :D

My Crazy Gurren Lagann Dream
General | Posted 14 years agoI just had one of the craziest dreams ever. I was Kamina from Gurren Lagann! http://images.wikia.com/gurennlagan...../2e/Kamina.jpg But there was a weird catch. Apparently I was Kamina AFTER he dies o_O
In my dream, once he/I died, I woke up in another dimension, aboard the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren http://www.deviantart.com/download/.....ra-d3dbi3n.png and finding things have REALLY gone wrong.
Simon http://www.absoluteanime.com/gurren.....imon-adult.jpg appeared normal, but had some sort of thing against me. No one knew WHO I was or what I was doing on the ship (the hell if I knew myself), but "HEY! SIMON!! Don't you remember?! I used to pilot Gurren!! I am the pinnacle of masculinity! I'm KAMINA!! The leader of Team Gurren!! Don't you remember, bro?" (that got a lot of strange looks). Yoko http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/file.....ren_lagann.jpg was there, though never knew who I was. That REALLY threw ME for a loop. Turns out the were leaving from earth to some other planet for peace reasons. Simon was being very nice in showing me around the ship, though he kept his eye on me really tight.
Then this other kid showed up. Looked like a funny version of Simon when he was a kid, but thinner with crazier hair, but there were many similarities. Especially when it seemed that he was orphaned on the ship and seemed to cling to me. He kept following me around, treating me really nice, and secretly showing me all the jacked up shit that was going on around the ship, when i was left to my sleeping quarters. At one point, he came around a corner, tugged on my cape and said, "H-hey Kamina..." and WITHOUT HESITATION or thought I just looked at him, put my glasses on, and said, "Don't call me Kamina, call me Bro!" XD it just came so naturally!
But there WAS jacked up stuff going on around the ship. Apparently there were several people who were boarded as slaves. As in, most of the ship, and the whole team was in on it. Thats when I saw Rossiu http://i1.animetaku.com/animeCharac.....s/12/12227.jpg shuffling some slaves from one deck to the next. So, I waltzed on up "Hey!! Forhead Boy!!" and socked him a GOOD one right in his face. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!" He of coarse called in on his intercom, scared shitless, "W-w-we have a problem in s-sector 7!! The new guy is here c-causing trouble!"
nearly immediately Simon was there with the most serious face I'd ever seen. something was VERY different. "I'm afraid we have no choice," he said, "It looks like you're coming with me."
"What's going on here, bro?!" I asked.
"I'M NOT YOUR BRO."
He said it so seriously, so coldly, and oddly... he almost looked like... Viral http://download.minitokyo.net/Tenge.....ann.321677.jpg He became a fusion of Viral and Simon. We both jumped into a fighting stance, and thats when the exposition started.
Turns out, Earth made a deal with another planet. a planet of BEAST-MEN. This deal was that they would leave Earth alone as long as every so often they would provide the Beast Planet with humans to be used as test subjects and bases for the creation of more Beast Men. The number that they would give would be decided once every 2 years depending on how many humans went over a specific population. (starting to sound like a really jacked up version of the show, huh?) And Simon was the product of their contract. Simon, Earth's Leader, was genetically fused with Viral, a high governing officer on the Beast Planet.
"So, then, BRO," he said mockingly, in a shuddering voice fusion of Simon and Viral, "Are you going to die quietly, or am I going to have to get my hands dirty?"
"Just who the HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!" I yelled, pulling out my sword, and immediately meeting it with his new very strong blade-like claws. As the fight raged on, there were all sorts of fun standard lines, like, "you're right! you're not my bro! my bro would never have let it go this far!" and "how could you agree to something like that?" and him saying things like, "you're good, but you're going to have to get tired eventually!" and "JUST SHUT UP AND DIE!!"
After a while, he got caught by a ton of the slaves, and the little kid (my NEW Bro) grabs me and tells me to follow him. He leads me to an escape pod. technically it was the Original Gurren Model that Kamina piloted, inside the big ship. I had to go and warn and save the others. Start a rebellion on earth. The thing that I didn't know was that we were already traveling through super space in order to travel to the Beast Planet. When I shot off in my Original Gurren model being in super space, and i guess having been dead and in another dimension teleported me to the scene at the end of the ORIGINAL series when Simon was caught in between dimensions and Kamina had come back to save him. That's when the dream faded out and I woke up.
So, literally, my dream was the time in between when Kamina died and when he returned in the 2nd to last episode to help bring all the other team members back to the real world, outside of multi-dimentional space. I was pretty legit. I looked in the mirror, i looked like Kamina, I sounded like him, I acted like him... almost like i was just watching everything from his eyes, but it was me doing it all. It was VERY realistic, well it all looked exactly like the cartoon. It was just plain old crazy. I loved it. I had to type it all down before I forgot most of it. My tablet is back!!
General | Posted 14 years ago**A little update for my FA watchers: I havn't been able to upload any comics the last few weeks is because my drawing tablet wasn't working up until now. now that you've been updated, here's the new update XD **
Hey-ya folks! I actually have some good news for my Tablet: I tried it out on my other computer and it works fine! it doesn't blank out on me or ANYTHING! :dummy: I think it's because the USB plug got too hot in the big computer (my laptop has a fancy laptop fan!! haha!). Why havn't I used my laptop before? well thats because my video card isn't working right and it stretches out my screen (max i can get is 1024x768). but it's on a much wider screen, so it stretches it out. well, I found out how to shrink the view size on my laptops monitor and voila!! normal drawing space! only problem is, BECAUSE my video card crapped out some time ago, my streaming is very slow and choppy, making also it very difficult for me to draw. So, I can't stream the comics, BUT!! I CAN go back to my normal drawing style. (I already have the first 2 panels done, today, so I can whip up the rest of the comic for you tomorrow faster than normal!!)
:) sorry for the wait and thank you for your patience. I'm glad I don't have to hand draw them, because my pens are almost all out of Ink, and my bus fair represents the last of my petty cash. any way, THANK GOODNESS!!!

Protest Sign Contest!!
General | Posted 14 years agoYay! now it's time for another CONTEST! ^_^ I know that some of you have actually been waiting for one of these, so without further adieu, I present the "Odd Couple Protest Sign Contest"!! :D :D Jared http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5840653 needs some ideas for future protest signs. They don't have to make sense (or if they do, in a very outlandish sort of way).
Object of the Contest: To present the best "weird", "odd", "outlandish", "bizarre", "silly", or just plain "random" protest signs you can come up with.
Due date: End of July. actually, this contest is an "active" or "movie" or "evolving" contest. Meaning that as you submit them, if they are good enough, they get to go into the comics (there are a few comics in June that could use them)
Winners: Well, in general, if they are good enough they get to go in the comics on Jared's protest signs (with recognition to the creator in the description AND at the bottom of the comic)
1st - 3rd places get to have their OC's as cameo guest characters in the background in the comics.
1st place actually gets to interact with the characters in one comic (and it will be part of the story line as well).
I have a few spots I could fill for temporary interactive characters and just background characters that could easily be filled with a cameo reference for your OC. These comics are posted in 3 other places, so you'll be getting some view coverage (with links to whatever web page you want (da, fa, personal website, etc)

I'm too lazy right now to look it up, so if any one knows off the top of their head, go ahead and indulge me! what does it mean?! why is Wednesday Wednesday? why is it spelled like that? this has actually bothered me for years...

Live stream Tuesday & Keiora's Contest
General | Posted 15 years agoY'all know the drill! :D next comic, and also a gimp tutorial (specifically designed for those who want to submit to "Keiora's Awesome Wallpaper Contest" but don't know how to 'photoshop'). There will be some other drawing stuff that goes on there. Today (Tuesday Dec 7) at 9am - 3pm pacific time (12noon lunch). (there may be a second live stream this evening for those who can't make the morning session, in which case, starts at 6pm pacific time and will probably go until 8:30pm or 9pm pacific time.)

My Rant
General | Posted 15 years agook, guys, I had enough fun with that rant, and I really like the artwork in it XD
but I guess I think I'm ok with taking it down now. Does any one have a problem with that? no is pressuring me to take it down, I just had my fun and now i'm over it. What say you? should I keep it? or Should I take it down?
I'm also thinking about the image of the comics (though I must say, that rant really got me some page views and watches) o.O;;
OR I can start a mini rant comic-blog called "Angry Shiba Show" (A.S.S.), all done up in that style. I like it. it could be about anything, and you can write or send in letters! XD

General | Posted 15 years agoTuesday at 10am - 3pm (pacific time) I'll be having my official weekly live stream broadcast. you know the drill, go to my official website https://sites.google.com/site/oddcouplecomics/ and click "live stream". I'll be working on another comic (because, you know, every excuse I have to draw those I'll take) and I'll probably draw some doodles, requests, or tutorials if any one wants. There is a chat bar equipped to the live stream video, so feel free to stick around and say hi, and ask for any requests. I can stop drawing the comic at any time to do a request or tutorial.
