ANZAC Day 2025
Posted 4 months agoWith their hair a little whiter, their step not quite so sure
Still they march on proudly as they did the year before.
Theirs were the hands that saved us, their courage showed the way
Their lives they laid down for us, that we may live today.
From Gallipoli's rugged hillsides, to the sands of Alamein
On rolling seas and in the skies, those memories will remain.
Of airmen and sailors, of lone pine and Suvla Bay
The boys of the Dardenelles are remembered on this day.
They fought their way through jungles, their blood soaked desert sands
They still remember comrades who rest in foreign lands.
They remember the siege of old Tobruk, the mud of the Kokoda trail
Some paying the supreme sacrifice with courage that did not fail.
To the icy land of Korea, the steamy jungles of Vietnam
And the heroic battle of Kapyong and that epic victory at Long Tan.
Fathers, sons and brothers, together they fought and died
That we may live in peace together, while at home their mothers cried.
When that final bugle calls them to cross that great divide
Those comrades will be waiting when they reach the other side.
(A Tribute to ANZAC Day - Ken Bunker)
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget
Still they march on proudly as they did the year before.
Theirs were the hands that saved us, their courage showed the way

Lest We Forget
Posted 10 years agoDawn. 25th April 1915. The Gallipoli Peninsula.
On this day 100 years ago began bitter fighting on the Gallipoli Peninsula that lasted until December that year. During that fighting was the birth of a legend. A legend of mateship, sticking by your mates and fighting to the end, never giving up.
The ANZAC.
That legend has continued through two world wars, Korea, Vietnam and all the way up to the current conflicts in the middle east.
Australians and New Zealanders working side by side to keep the legend, and each other, alive.
I have been doing my own family research into my great great uncle, Private Bruce Weary of the 2/17 AIF (Grandma's uncle) who was killed at El Alamein and remains buried there to this day.
While we do not know too much at the moment, the story that soldiers who served with him told the family was that he went out on his own inititive to repair a break in a communication line and was killed, but because he was not ordered to do it he was given no recognition for this act, nor do I think he would have thought he would get any.
so, on this day of rememberance, I suggest that everyone look back into their family history, you never know what you will find.

A big thanks to everyone who faved
Posted 10 years agoI just wanted to offer a huge thank you to everyone who has faved images from my gallery over the last month or more which, due to my self-imposed absence to sort out a few things, I have been unable to thank you all for personally.
I hope that the things I get in my gallery in the future will meet with the same response :)

Posted 10 years agoOC interview meme: Redtailotter
Posted 11 years agoI do not do these things that often, but
darthandroid decided to tag me, so I better do it.
RULES :
1. Pick one of your OCs.
2. Fill in the interview as if you were your OC.
3. Tag four people to do this meme!
4. Tell people that they been tagged with a link from your journal
OC picked: RedtailOtter
1. What is your name?
Redtail Foxaroo
2. Do you know why you were named that?
It just seemed to fit as well as anything else. I have been Redtail for so long I cannot see myself going by another name. Also Foxaroos are not given typical human surnames, so we attach our species as such. Although at this point I have been a few species thanks to people using magic to TF me into whatever they want to see.
3. Single or taken?
Taken, I have been claimed by a certain blue and white dragon after all XD
4. Have any abilities or powers?
I am not sure what would qualify, I mean, my abilities seem to change from form to form. For example, I used to be strong and lean and fast, but currently I am a short, plump and well filled Otter so my abilities seem to be ability to swim and long breath holding.
I guess you could say that my one 'power' is the ability not to take things too seriously and always trying to find the funny side of things.
5. Stop being a Mary Sue!
I am being one?
6. What's your eye color?
Brownish-red
7. How about hair color?
*runs handpaw through her hair* orange of course, same as most of my fur used to be before I got transformed.
8. Have you any family members?
Parents, who have no idea about what I do for a living now or that I am no longer a Foxaroo all of the time. What they do not know won't hurt me XD
9. Oh? How about pets?
oh no, I do not have pets, I AM a pet these days XD
10. That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.
The reputation that i have had to endure from the actions of Foxes and other Fox hybrids, their actions have put the reputations of a lot of us Fox Hybrids into disrepute.
11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Used to, but most of my time these days is spent breeding new dragon hybrids.
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
I cannot Confirm nor Deny on the advice of my legal council.
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
I can only state that you should see the above answer as it also applies to this question.
14. What kind of animal are you?
Originally a Foxaroo, Red Fox, Red Kangaroo Hybrid, however as I said earlier I have been transformed a few times, the latest being into a rather cute, sexy Ottergirl. It remains to be seen as to what the future brings
15. Name your worst habits.
Constantly getting TF/TG'd by various individuals. I swear that at this point I am never going to get turned back to what I was. Not that I am complaining mind you.
16. Do you look up to anyone at all?
I never used to, being a tall Foxaroo, now that I am rather short as an Otter, yes, yes I do. Although only a certain white and blue dragon caused me to look up before then XD
17. Are you gay, straight, or bisexual?
At this point, it doesn't matter anymore XD
18. Do you go to school?
I did at one stage, and was not what you would call the smartest individual in the world. I am a beleiver in experience being more important than a lot of book learning and that you do not need a long trail of documents about your education to get on in life. These days I have plenty of time to read up on subjects of interest. Not like I have much else to do :)
19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
Why would i want to do that? I seem to have it pretty good right now. As to the question of having kids.......I have lost count of how many i have head already.
20. Do you have fangirls/fanboys?
Not to my knowledge, but then again I do not pay much attention.
21. What are you most afraid of?
I am not sure I should answer that
22. What do you usually wear?
These days? not much at all, usually just the collar that my master clipped around my neck, as well as a few strategic piercings.
23. What's one food that tempts you?
This is going to sound really bad, but a good peice of kangaroo steak cooked to perfection always catches my attention *ears hang low, slightly embarassed*
24. Am I annoying you?
Not at all, it is nice to take a little break from the breeding and just chat.
25. Well, it's still not over!
so ask away.
26. What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)?
I am not sure what i would be classed. I am just a typical, hard working Australian critter from a farming area so I am guessing low class, not that i put much stock in that.
To me, it is what you do, not how much money you make, that is important and it is entirely possible to live a live happy but not making a lot of cash just like it is possible to be making a fortune and be miserable.
I think the Adam Harvey song 'I'm doing Alright' sums it up just right. I may not be rich, but I am enjoying my life and where I am. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY-waStyraE
27. How many friends do you have?
I lost count of that a looooooooooong time ago.
28. What are your thoughts on pie?
Oooh, a nice kangaroo steak pie would hit the spot about now.
30. Favorite drink?
Lemon and Line Solo, a good soda here in Australia :)
31. What's your favorite place?
Australia as a whole.
32. Are you interested in anyone~?
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe *cheaky grin*
33. That was a stupid question.
Indeed it was, indeed it was.
34. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
Yes, i think 'Yes' covers it
35. What's your type?
My type? Busty....lets go with that *cheaky grin again*
36. Any fetishes?
A few things, quite a few things, that i am not going to go into here due to my own desire for privacy
37. Seme or uke?
Ummm........wha?
38. Camping or indoors?
Both are great, but you cannot go fishing indoors unless you are doing it at a fish farm......and then you have to travel light because the security tend to not like it when someone uses their fishing spot............running with much fishing gear is difficult.
39. Tag People!
I tag
Twinkiewolf ,
Veluriel ,
Vella and
Toxi

RULES :

39. Tag People!

Posted 11 years agoIt is official, General Motors is finished in Australia
Posted 11 years agoWell, it is official. General Motors executives have pulled the plug on Holden, with the company to cease operations in 4 years time. The figures make for appalling and saddening reading. 2,900 workers to go in the next 4 years with a flow on effect in that industry and its related industries, of around 50,000 jobs.
Clearly GM executives only care about their wallets and not the livelihoods of Australian workers. I strongly urge all Australians to abandon any product made by a GM owned company in favor of something, ANYTHING, still made here.
Also, I urge anyone who reads this message and actually cares about this country, its workers and its industrial history and future, to go this this page here https://www.facebook.com/generalmotors# and express your annoyance and disappointment, be as harsh as you like, they deserve it.
I ask that you pass this message on, to your friends, on your timeline, in your groups, everywhere. This company needs to know what they have done is a mistake that will haunt them from now until the company crumbles under the mismanagement that it has been subject too for far too long.
To hell with General Motors, if they are not going to support its Australian workforce, then Australians shouldn't support them.
