To Those Waiting For Commissions
Posted 4 years agoI apologize terribly for the delay. I've been having a lot of health concerns that have landed me in the hospital previously that I am still recovering from. I am doing my best to work on my queue but things are moving very slow and I'm behind by about a month. Due to my health I will no longer be accepting any more commissions and thus will end the commercial work on this account.

As the title suggests I'm shutting everything here down. Recently I've been making a lot of big changes in my life, and I've come to realize that accepting commissions like this doesn't make me happy. It's become more of a chore than anything else and, overall, this account has turned into something I don't care for.
I'm going to leave RedtoBlack open for another 2 weeks before deactivating and/or deleting the account. I will be accepting commissions but a very limited number of them.
I'd like to thank all the people who have commissioned me in the past. Y'all were a lot of the reason I kept going on most days, and I will miss the fun I had with those commissions.
Thank you to everyone who gave me even a moment of their time, I had a lot of fun experiences here and will miss y'all!!

Regarding Art "Thefts"

Recently I've been having an increased number of people noting me about art thefts from an alternate account of mine. I definitely appreciate this, it means a lot to be in a community that looks out for artists and their art- and I'd like to give these people some peace of mind in that both these accounts are in fact me!
ghostunknown is my personal account, about a year and a half ago I decided to make RedtoBlack solely commercial and shifted all my personal work to that account. I never intended to have these accounts connected to one another, though to save everyone some trouble I'd like to just state for the record: I am both these people.

BY COMMISSIONING ART FROM ME YOU ARE AGREEING TO THESE TERMS
Please read my FAQ before asking any questions!

▫️ I reserve the right to refuse service and refunds to anyone who breaks any of these terms ▫️
▫️ I only start drawing after receiving full payment ▫️
▫️ Invoices that are not paid within 7 days will be deemed abandoned and the commission(s) will be canceled ▫️
▫️ I only correspond through the FA note system. Please do not ask for my telegram/email/ect. or send messages to my PayPal email. I only offer my Discord for collaborations ▫️
▫️ I do not send files over email or third party hosting sites, I only upload the images to FA ▫️
▫️ I only accept references through links. Please refrain from telling me to "check the gallery" or something akin for a reference, this is often confusing for me and can cause miscommunication very easily ▫️
▫️ I use PayPal invoices, which includes a 7% commissioner fee. If you are not willing to pay the fee please do not commission art from me ▫️
▫️ I do furry, human, and any humanoids! As well as any gender, species, and body type ▫️
▫️ If your character is complex there may be a complex character fee depending on how much time will be added to the image due to the complexity of the design ▫️
▫️ Characters will be drawn nude unless otherwise stated in the note, regardless of what is stated in the reference provided. Collars, rings, necklaces, hair accessories, ect. Will not be added unless specifically requested. Piercings are an exception and will be included. ▫️
▫️ I have a visual impairment that can make certain bright or highly contrasting colors painful to look at. If your character is hard on my eyes I will refuse your commission. Please do not link me to any flashing images or contact me if your icon could trigger this impairment (I realize it is against FA rules to have flashing icons, but I have still seen some that have triggered my impairment. Please be mindful) ▫️
▫️ Please do not send multiple notes editing or changing your commission. If you can not include all the information needed in one note, or are the type of commissioner who sends artists multiple notes because you cannot decide or "keep thinking of new things", I will not work with you. Refunds will not be given if I have already started your commission ▫️
▫️ Please tell me all the details you want to be included on your commission before I send the invoice. Any changes requested after the invoice has been sent/paid may be denied ▫️
▫️ I will not ask for clarity if a detail from your reference is missing, so please be sure to include proper links or information ▫️
▫️ Please do not ask how your commission is going unless it has been after the time estimate included on the invoice. Keep in mind time starts from the time the invoice is paid, not when it is sent. Harassing me for updates may result in your commission taking longer or being canceled altogether. This sincerely puts pressure on me and can disrupt my workflow ▫️
▫️ I am more than willing to fix any issues you have with a commission of my own fault, however, if there are edits that are made after/weren't clarified there will be a fee to fix ▫️
▫️ If I do make mistakes on your piece, please tell me ALL the details that need to be fixed, otherwise, I will charge for additional changes every time I have to re-upload the image ▫️
▫️ After you receive the commission, I will fix any changes 24 hours after getting your initial okay. Any fixes requested after that will have additional fees or may be refused altogether ▫️
▫️ While I am willing to make fixes/changes, I may refuse if I deem that the commissioner is being too picky or rude ▫️
▫️ Characters without a clear visual reference (Such as text description, multiple non-reference images, shaded/painted references, screenshots, or colors that make details difficult to see) omit the above rules and include an additional fee to fix any mistakes or misclassifications. I prefer to have a single reference for a character, multiple images with inconsistencies are not preferred and are confusing ▫️
▫️ I add lots of overlays and color to my art, this can often lead to colors of characters looking different or "off". If this is something you do not want in your finished picture please tell me BEFORE I start your commission. Otherwise, any changes will come with a 3$ fee ▫️
▫️ Please do not send a picture from a previous commission I've done and ask for your image to be done "like that". This often time ends in confusion and can be troublesome for various reasons. Instead please try to describe what elements you would like in your image with helpful details ▫️
▫️ While I am absolutely alright with people editing any commission I've done for them, I ask that edits are not reuploaded under the guise of being my art. I will request people to take down art that has been heavily edited that are found in my tag ▫️
▫️ I offer WIPs for 10$ per requested stage of completion. Most of my commissions are completed within 24 hours and waiting for commissioner input would dramatically slow down my queue. WIPs are available for painted pieces for free upon request. WIP commissions will not include a time estimate and are not covered by my lateness policy ▫️
▫️ Commissions that do not have WIPs arranged have reduced fix flexibility and may be refused if the time required is more than 1 hour of drawing. ▫️
▫️ Sometimes my wording is bad, and I may say the wrong word from time to time. I struggle with reading and comprehension at moments and may say something that is complete jibberish or misread what is written to me. Please just keep this in mind during our communications! ▫️
▫️ If you have a problem with any variable of a commission please contact me here on FA first rather than through PayPal, I will receive your message quicker and reply promptly. ▫️
▫️ I do not offer refunds after I start a commission, but I will cancel an unpaid invoice ▫️

. Can I change the aspect of a YCH?Yep! However changes come with a fee depending on how much the workload and time of that change added.
. An additional version cost more than what was posted?Most additional versions fall along the lines of quick overlays and very little change to the original lineart, however, if your extra version requires pose changing/heavy lineart or color changes there will be an additional charge.
. How long will my commission take?A more accurate estimate is included in the invoice after I have received the full details. Time depends on the complexity of the piece, the style, and my commission queue. Most commissions are completed in 24-48 hours. Painted pieces can take up to a week.
. Why did 'x' not come out how I wanted even though I didn't give you any instructions. If there is something specific you wanted to be added/removed/changed on your commission and you did not tell me, do not be surprised when it is not included. I never assume what the commissioner wants. If you only drop a reference with no further instruction then I will just go with what I think looks best for the piece and may not include accessories.
. I don't agree with how you do your commissions. My commission layout is easier and less stressful on me, and it allows me to work to a fuller potential. If you are unhappy with how my commissions work please find another artist whose work style you prefer. I will not change my work style to fit your hyper-specific wants.
. Why do you charge for changes?I only charge for changes when the commissioner either does not give me a clear full reference (ex: multiple images or text) or when the commissioner wants me to add/change an aspect without clarifying beforehand. I have had too many experiences with commissioners sending me on goose chases to nitpick their commission, it is extremely stressful for me and takes time from other people's commissions.
. I didn't read the ToS and now have a problem because of it! I have a link to my ToS on my front page, as the featured journal, and in the description of every YCH or Commission post. It is stated in my ToS that by COMMISSIONING me you are agreeing to the terms listed. I am not responsible for any repercussions and I will not omit fees because you neglected to read the ToS.
. You blocked me. I sure did. I will not hesitate to block anyone who breaks my ToS. Or anyone who otherwise stresses me out, fetishizes concepts triggering to me, or makes me uncomfortable in any way.
. Can I re-upload the art I commissioned from you? Yep! Once the commission is finished it is yours to do whatever you want. You can edit and re-upload to your heart's content, steal it if you want, I really don't mind.
. Can I have your telegram/kik/discord/skype? Nope. Any and all communication will be through the Furaffinity note system.
. You contacted me and said it might take a while to complete my commission because you're "ill". I am disabled with Fibromyalgia and cPTSD, I am not always functional and I don't get to choose when my bad days happen. I have absolutely no control over it. I am very mindful and will not take commissions when I am ill, however, it does often sneak up on me and can knock me down for weeks at a time. If this is going to be a problem during our exchanges I will let you know asap. If I have not already started your commission I will offer a refund.
. Do you stream? Currently no, and I don't have any plans to set up a streaming account.
. Discounts? I offer a 30% discount to all my fellow disabled furries. Because you know, being disabled is expensive.
