Deviantart page Deactivated
Posted 3 years agoJust Deactivated my Deviantart account. A part of me is sad to see my very first gallery/page go under, but dA was becoming a chore to use thanks to the terrible UI anway.
The main reason is them being ok with A.I. creation (it's not 'art'), and Fuck That, tbqh.

Still Alive
Posted 6 years agoJust about. Work is busy. It's winter which, ironically given my username, I really do NOT get on with. Thanks for that, Teen Me...
If anyone is still watching, I appreciate the heck out of you. I apologise for the lack of content; I really, REALLY struggle to even sit down to try and sketch at the moment. Emphasis on 'try'. I seem to have lost all the spark and joy of drawing and, much though I want it back, I realise it's going to be a fight, not a quick fix.
Maybe in the New Year. Happy 2019 everyone.

Still Alive - Comment/Feedback Request
Posted 11 years agoYeah, I'm still alive. The long and the short of it is that my move in March was only the first step on a much longer, much more complicated journey.
The long is that I'm set to move house AGAIN by the end of the year/start of the New. Where, hopefully, I will finally and genuinely have time and space to draw more and, again hopefully, improve.
And this is where I run into a problem of sorts. See, really, I would much rather be living off my art and my writing. I've been through a few jobs, I've been through education for too many years, and, ultimately, I know what I like doing. I like creating things, making up stories and characters and worlds and suchlike. I'd much, much rather do that for a living.
However... the Internet is both a blessing and a curse in this regard. On the plus side, it's now easier than ever to get out there and have the possibility of getting money for the stuff you create, with paypal, patreon and galleries like here and dA, and stuff like Tumblr, etc. But... exactly because there are those tools open to everyone there is so, so much more content being put out there. And that means there's a lot more competition.
Meaning, really, that to stand out I have to get better than I am at the moment. And be able to put out much, much more art than I do, which is about one piece every several months, often unfinished. And yet, to do that, I need the time to practice and produce and get better and then try and make money....but, during that time, I still need to live, pay bills, pay back money on the house... Which means holding down a job to pay all that shit, which means less time to draw and write and be able to get to the point where I could actually self-sustain off of it...
---
I could really use some feedback or comments here. I know I have a few watchers, but I don't know how many people honestly, actually watch, or take notice of my (infrequent journals. I'm not asking for some sort of miracle, just some sort of sign that I have even a glimmer of hope here, I guess, heh...

Minor Update
Posted 11 years agoNeeded a new journal, at any rate.
So, yeah, moving house on the 21st of March, so updates will be slow for a while....slow-er. Not like they've been existent or watched for anyway, heh.
Eh...the joys of being a nobody /rant

Signal Boost: Raskyll Commissions
Posted 12 years agoA friend is offering commissions, and could use a hand with funds for day to day live. I'd appreciate it if folks at least had a look see. Chibi stuff may or may not be your thing, but she does other styles as well and she's a decent artist.

General Update
Posted 12 years agoSo, yeah.
Hey there to the new watchers, and thanks for the watches. I apologise for the general lack of activity at the moment. For this specific week I've been rather ill, and the past few months have involved work on the house, job seeking, getting a job and acclimatising to said job. So actually having time and headspace to sit down and draw properly has been limited, usually replaced by a need to just put my feet up after 2-3 shifts and play some games =P
Art stuff will, hopefully, be happening soon. So thanks to long term watchers for sticking around, and I hope the newer ninjas will bear with me while I get stuff sorted out over here, heh.
That's all for now!

Commisions: Shut for restructuring
Posted 12 years agoGiven some feedback on dA (along with lack of interest) I'm shutting the ol' commissions for another day. I'll likely open them again at a later date.
Until then, stay posted if you fancy taking a shot at grabbing a request, since I think I need to re-build my commission list with some better, more recent examples, heh. And art for other peeps should (might) be a good way to break art block, right? So, hey, potential free sketches and stuff!

Adjutant Online. Systems Functional.
Posted 14 years agoYup. Still alive and kicking, despite being swallowed temporarily by University.
And dayamn, I did go and get me some watchers. Wouldja look at that?
I'll be putting more stuff up as it moves into the Holidays and I (finally) have some free time.
Who knows, by next summer I might even be able to offer commissions...

New Arrival
Posted 15 years agoWell, it finally happened. I made an FA account. Been stalking a few of the talented artists around here for a while now, and finally decided to take the dive and start my own gallery, trying to keep it a bit neater than my dA gallery and maybe (just maybe) inspiring me to do some more art.
"Pfft, yeah, like that's gonna happen..."
Shut it, you.
Yeah, I get the feeling it's gonna be...interesting...around here.
