EDF! EDF! EDF!
Posted 11 years agoFinally released in english for PS3 and 360, I myself got it on PS3. The fantastic 3rd person blow everything up action game of the year arrives.
4 playable classes each with about 100 weapons to unlock, some just improvements on old ones, but the majority being weird and wonderful. A Grenade launcher that fires out 30 sticky explosive pellets, a gun that fires out flame towers that attach to walls, a gun that shoots webbing to get full revenge on the giant spiders, along with so many others.
Online 4 player co-op, local split screen 2 player and even a versus mode.
The best EDF since GDF back on the PS2 and well worth getting.
Be the ranger with quick speed, standard but huge firepower.
Be the Air Raider who can call in support vehicles, airstrikes, mechs, helicopters or an orbital laser.
Be the Wind-diver with max mobility from a jet-pack and all manner of plasma gushing weaponry to bring death from above.
Or be the Fencer, slow, methodical, war.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXR3hktVHuo
Don't let this fantastic game get ignored. It offers content, enjoyment, the thrill of blowing stuff up including large buildings and the simplicity of shooting things without QTEs corridor map designs (each level is pretty huge), except for the two tunneled maps.
Enlist today, kill bugs, kill robots, service guarantees entertainment.

Board Game Online, Session 3 [Over]
Posted 12 years ago[Another empty session]
Info:
Board-game online is a completely free in-browser way to waste time and garner amusement. It requires no sign-up which is free anyway, you can just scrawl up a temp name.
How to play:
Its a straight line to the finish, which will usually be set at 201. Then turns are taken, dice are rolled, items are acquired, events happen at complete random and the jukebox typically has some twisted selections. It is first one to get up to at least space 201 alive that wins. Till then it is all out war.
... Or you can find the pharoahs treasure in the pyramid and escape with your life for victory...
... Or obtain a fine breakfast of spam, eggs, sausage and bacon for immediate sucess...
Or other unusual ways. Though there are far more ways to die... which can also lead to victory.
There is a chatbox during the game though would like to get a skype group together on this sometime.

Board Game Online, session 2
Posted 12 years agoWelp not a single taker.
Da soirch for mor mun-people to co-op with.
Posted 12 years agoCurrent latest game picks up in need of co-op partners, bonus points for having skype and a headset too.
Payday 2 - 360
Gundam Breaker - PS3, one of those titles that's import only, can be gotten off jp PSN digitally.
Dragon's Crown - PS3, though really they completely fucked up with not letting online co-op be possible right from the start.
DnD Chronicles of Mystara - PC/PS3, got it on both for local hijinks
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Would be nice to have a reason to get back into this, left it idling too long.
Earth Defence Forces 4 - PS3, Japanese version, the english one won't come out until around Feb next year.
Payday 1 - PC. Only got a smidgen into the game way way early in its release history when my gaming group for it splintered completely.
Do have an assortment of others, Dead Rising 2 and Frank West edition, etc. but these are the semi-freshest and most in the interest right now.

EDF! EDF!
Posted 12 years agoSo was anyone else unwilling to wait till Feb and picked up Earth Defence Force 2025 on jp PSN?
Frame-rate can still be as choppy as a hyperactive Hassan but oh man so many massive battles and destructive weaponry. Big suprise too on both the Classes working right and well together, along with the vehicles... kinda functioning... ish. The mechs are definately the big winner out of the set, but heck could actually kill some things with the basic helicopter and fun has been had in the triple barreled tank, need to unlock more though.
Biggest shock was the netcode which is damned good, after several co-op sessions with various hosts didn't notice any degree of lag issue.
Not as a sniper rifle toting Ranger emptying the magazine piece by piece into target after target.
Not as Air Raider pointing his laser designator at the encroaching horde of red ants.
Not as the Wing Diver strafing through the streets and alleys with the scatter laser rapier and then cleaning up with the plasma launcher.
Not as the samurai of the 21st century, Fencer who boosts and slides through hordes of aliens and carving straight through them with pile-bunker and grenade launcher.
That drives a clear path with full charged sledgehammer before dispearsing a myriad of missles into the air.
That brandishes double heavy rifles and rips apart Hectors and Carrier ships in short order before bringing up the large metal fists and decking a multitude of alien horrors in the face repeatedly.
... Yea I like to play Fencer, slow, awkward, lumbering but man they made it work and the equipment is some seriously potent stuff.
For those wondering what EDF4 is like.

Earthbound. Finally!
Posted 12 years agoI've been waiting to get this game legitly since the Wii rolled out with its Virtual Console. Now it's finally up on PAL eShop and bound to be on the other regions... weirdly no Megaman X yet, oh well.
The cruelty of Project X Zone
Posted 12 years agoJust one little exchange...
Tron: "Do you know what this means Servbot?"
Servbot: "Yes Miss Tron! Now that rocket you're building will be even more delayed"
That's a painful little kick.
On the plus side its far far faster in gameplay than Namco X Capcom, the exchanges are amusing and they finally translated the pre and post battle quotes unlike in Endless Frontier. Good times ahead, though a shame no Captain Commando.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate now global.
Posted 12 years agoSo yea anyone else got it on Wii U, finally no region boundries to worry about and I've got an HR to escalate and looking to do it with slightly less random people.
Killing big with swords and assault rifles.
Posted 12 years agoMonster Hunter 3 Ultimate arrived so could do with a few folks to play about with, in the UK since it's so far said to be April before we PAL gamers get to join with the NTSC players.
Also despite being it many times and getting everything, been back on a Lost Planet 2 kick, a favourite game, again wouldn't mind a few folks to dabble about with.
Finishing up with wanting to get a decent skype-capable group for Board-game online since with the guys I currently play it with, they all do exactly the same kind of things and kill the freshness.

Resi Evil 6
Posted 13 years agoIt arrived on Friday for me, been tearing into it and thoroughly enjoying so much of it. Now that the games properly released wouldn't mind a few co-op partners in it, so drop a note.
Could give opinions on it, but won't. Tussling with mucus filled mind... seem to have caught a cold... how a Halloween style pic would work of it, which roles would go to who.... mainly just for the hell of it.

Odd offer
Posted 13 years agoWell comp got fixed up, weirdly the tech guys said it was basically fine whenever they got ahold of it. Oh well damn thing wouldn't boot up for me.
Anyways wondering if anyone knows an artist that would trade a picture in exchange for a coupon for Aliens VS Predator, the most recent Rebellion one, PC version on steam. Had this sitting around for a while and it may as well get some use.

That unique kind of luck...
Posted 13 years agoYesterday was a pain in the hole. Get a bit of light browsing on the comp early on, checking if anyone was looking me during my brief snooze. Then comes a Metropolitan police popup that leaves me unable to do anything. Finally get a laptop to borrow try to track down various solutions and cures to enact. None of them manage to catch it it seems, or at least some OS damage was done leaving me stuck on this laptop with some further issues.
Oh added moment of defeat is that the one guy approached for handling this, couldn't, because he was busy handling someone else's comp who had been afflicted by this and yea there really are about only one or two options on guys to take it to here.
Think a single word stretched out long and low defines my mood at the mo.

Two in a row. Because
Posted 14 years agoI usually remove all visible sign of the date, but fuck it. Sides this is an odd time. Everyones recovering from Christmas meals, others are rushing out to cram into every store to take advantage of deals and Xmas money. I meanwhile am pondering the latter as I settle into my birthday.
Also reposting the story bit.
There came a quiet giggle and an answering flick upon the snout. Maleti giving a little harumph as her eyes narrowed, Kin giving that superior smile as her hand came away from teaching the silly Faeltar her place. The golden scaled female wriggling down comfortably in Reikos hoodie, having snatched it before grubby savage claws or puffy feline paws could get ahold of it. "If I tell a story then little Savage has to be quiet yes?"
There was yet another harumph, Maleti rolling further on the bed, snout pointing upwards to the ceiling, glancing with a solitary eye at the Fizlen. "Fine..."
Kin let that smug smile spread all the further upon her snout, other, non-teaching hand sifting itself through Chicas soft mid-riff fur. The quiet rumbles of the purring Jaguar a lovely bit of background noise, far more pleasant than just crickets or creaking wood. "Well, long ago there was a beautiful kingdom. It had ivory white towers, immaculately clean streets. No one who lived there was poor or dirty or sad."
"-ray!", came from the silly Faeltar who yelped at getting another flick at her snout, trying to catch the finger with her beaky bit. "But it was in the royal family that things weren't as perfect. There was a wonderful princess, she had such thick golden hair, her scales-er, skin, was flawless and pale from a life of leisure. Spending much of her days mingling with the townsfolk, to make their lives all the happier. Showing what a wonderful woman she was. Able to sing like a siren without the downside hmhm and could even play instruments."
Chica brought her fluffy cheek against Kins chest, resting upon the soft swells as she gave a little nuzzle. "The problem was that there were no decent princes from other kingdoms for her to be married to. They were all boastful, or foolish, or full of themselves, or old."
They couldn't just ask the knights either because the kingdom was peaceful and a warrior seemed silly. The merchants were obsessed with wealth, even the nice ones were always more interested in money than everyone elses benefit. The other nobles were eager yes to join the royal family but they shared many of the same failings as the Princes."
"Aww..ow!", Maleti giving a little growl as she grabbed at her snout, rolling further along the bed to get out of reach. "I told you~... still they decided to get the princesses opinion of what she wanted in a suitor and perhaps be lucky enough to find one at a large ball they were throwing at the palace. They allowed practically all of noble blood or high breeding to attend, asking their allies and distant relations to invite compatriots they were familiar with that the royal family themselves had never met in the hopes of finding that one man perfect enough for their perfect princess."
There came a little tug at Kins tail, Maleti crawling like a cat against the Fizlens side, wanting to bring attention to herself. "What was the princesses name Kinny?"
"Umm... It was Sapphire, cause her eyes looked just liked them.". There came a silly tired smile from the Faeltar as she tried to roll her eyes, but let her head follow and nearly toppled off, yelping and catching at the blankets to prevent gravities trick. "So yes the ball was going well for friendliness but the princess just saw no connection with any of the people she was introduced to. Oh but they all fell for her, such an amazing dress, the skirt came in silken layers that would shimmer at the slightest touching of light. Thin immacutely forged golden chains linking precious jewels embedded along the front of her bodice and near transparent wraps of the finest cloth entwined her shoulders and upper arms, tailing off in long graceful ribbons."
"But as it so often happens she was being led across the floor by her father and caught a pair of eyes that had the princess stop in her tracks. There was a spark that made her heart flutter like a down coated dove. They were the most entrancing forest greens, like two specks of raw untamed nature that showed more life in a single fleeting glance than the eyes of those who would see her as a way to the throne."
"Her father wondered why she stalled so, why she eased herself from his grip and started into the crowd herself. There was another feature, mane yellow like the sun, like the outstretched fingers of the suns heat. She tried to get through the throng of people all with questions, all with gifts, all vying for her attention but she was captivated by that being she had spotted from the corner of her eye."
"The Queen, she knew that look in her daughters eye and aided her, large sweeping motions in her own regal dress and the crowd was steadily parted. She made such delicate clops in those almost crystaline heels and found the one that insillted desire within her... being chastised by the palace guards. He stood so tall, so firm against harsh words and threats of punishment, a curving on his lips that made a slight breath pass from the princesses own. The mans attire was horribly scruffy, looking like the vagrants that had been seen in other cities, such roughness, ugly stitching and burn marks upon the fabric... all it seemed to do was magnify the perceived perfection of his features in her mind."
The guards stood to attention as the princess approached, explaining that he was not among the invited guests but had snuck in among the servants setting up the sustenance-"
"Whas... sussiness?", came a half-purred murmur from the jaguar. From how her body relaxed so quickly after it seemed unlikely she'd hear the answer so Kin just continued. "And they were very displeased with the rudeness of barging into a function.
The princess tried to speak to this man, this unusual mixture of beauty with scruff but at each attempt to utter words she raised her head to look in his eyes as was rather polite to do and found the sounds effectively stolen from her. She could not utter anything to him, her heart just grasped tight upon her voice and refused to let it go out of panic of somehow causing him to instantly vanish such as when chasing a dream to find yourself awake. Thankfully he was not without voice himself and answered the questions she'd been unable to ask. That he was sorry for stepping in but while he was uninvited several people he knew had been and merely wanted to speak with them before he left... left!?... this finally brought sound to the princess as she questioned why he would leave. Eyes wide and fearful as she clapped her hands over her mouth, being raised too polite and not savage at all so she couldn't curse herself."
The man gave a simple, quiet little laugh that had his shoulders bounce upon his frame. He said that his life was to travel, to see all that he could and find what he desired... whatever that could be. It wounded the Princess in ways she never expected to hear derisive laughter from the guards and felt compelled to step closer as if that would signify her support of his decision... and perhaps bring herself to be among his desires. A slow attempt at relaxing caused a long intake from the princess and she found the mans scent intoxicating, it smelt in ways familiar but distinct. That he had the scent of the farms but not ones here, that there was flecks of ash from a smithy but certainly none she had seen... it continued, so many things and places that swam within her mind.
She had to know something definitive about him, something that was not a philosophy or paint further seas of fantasy within her mind. She asked for his name and received it. Her smile broad and cheeks flushed. There came the sound of a band striking up, of the dance-floor being prepared and she offered her hand. The guards confused as the Princess Sapphire invited this man to not only dance with her, but to enjoy this night as a guest of honour. While her hands were daintily gloved she could feel his touch with supreme clarity and smiled up at this man who was no longer a stranger."
There came a tiny little pain upon Kins tail, narrowing her eyes to see Maleti nipping at it with her beaky bit. "Did they Kinny?", large golden eyes half-lidded as she almost passed out from exhaustion. Kin smiling broadly and giving the little savage annoyance the peace of mind she herself found in this tale, "Yes Letty, they both lived happily ever after. He found what he was searching for all those years on that dance-floor and they were married soon after and had lots and lots of children. The end."
"Yaaa-zzz.."

The end."

Welp need to put something new here.
Posted 14 years agoFirst thing in the morning but need something different from the failed movie night, not one fucker turned up. So Merry Christmas to my various artist acquaintences on this. I'd go by name but everythings a bit fuzzy right now... including my face, shall shave later. So instead I shall copy/paste a little tale I did up for the Adventure setting.

Attempt for a halloween movie night.
Posted 14 years agoCourse won't actually be on halloween but yea. I upload a movie now and then to a fun website for simple private viewing fun. Though these days I'm lacking a group to watch them with.
I made a journal like this long time ago for a general movie night, the routine is this, sharing skype details, mics aren't entirely needed but encouraged, however headphones/earphones/earbuds/headsets ARE a requirement. Echoing ruins movie viewing.
We all load up the movie and then on the grand count of 3, not before, not after, but on. Everyone clicks play, this generally keeps things managable accounting for skype lag and such.
But well, just lacking a group of folk who enjoy watching flicks, brit comedy shows and a few other funky things I can find. Plus halloween is rolling up and in my small part of the world it... typically doesn't exist. Been years since any of the regular four channels have put a horror film on at halloween itself. Plus the shops are just piling up with perishable Xmas crap. So this is a bit of an out for me.
Plus hell of a lot simpler than getting my streaming set up working...
But yea need movie suggestions, members, interest, fucking anything. Hell I'll even get round to posting some of my backlogged pictures at some point.
So far the line up is pretty paltry, memories just failing for horror flicks.
Here's the run-down.
John Carpenters The Thing. - One of those known classics for the practical effects. Also well acted, nice and suspenseful. Play the guessing game, win a speed-boat!
The Abominable Dr. Phibes. - Vincent Price, not quite true horror but a good film.
Garth Marenghis Dark Place. - Written, directed and starring the humble fabulous of horror, Garth Marenghi. Dark Place, a show so goddamn terrifying it was never originally shown and only recently unearthed for display.
With one potential being a personal... well, not really enjoyment, but it's something that sticks with me for it's horrible quality, Stephen Kings The Langoliers.
I'd stick up an Elm Street but I have the full set and watched them to death, same with Evil Dead. So yea, put forth some suggestions, communicate, it's good to talk.
Edit: Urgh not eaten yet and forgot to mention. This wouldn't be actually done on halloween, hell too many things to get through for that. So it'd be on the days before and basically whenever it's a good time.
Potentials
The Langoliers - 3 hours of... something, was originally a two parter tv movie now fused into a monstrosity. It's an, experience.
Hidden 3d
Dead Birds
Dog Soldiers
Phantasm 1 & 2
A nightmare Before Christmas (It totally counts... it does.)

Backlog and Idle notions.
Posted 14 years agoFirst off, I'm more than fairly certain only three folks I know bother their arse to read these and I communicate with them nearly daily, but hey its an out-reaching thing to all those many watchers who do... fuck all else than just oogle the pretty pictures.
There is a fairly hefty backlog of pictures I've yet to post, waiting for the inspiration to strike on the writing bit of them, among the highlights is a romantic and cute piece from
TheEvilRentaro (who is in need of some paying commissioners, he is worth every sofa-fished penny by the by. He's been single-handedly doodling up my character designs and painstakingly revising his own for the Swords and Sorcery set Adventure project... which does desperately need a new title. I'll ponder that. So flock to him, with money, bask in his talent at a cheap price.)
Along with the likely already seen pictures I commissioned from
Natysanime, though I coloured all of them up, which adds a little bit to her fantastic style, something about how she draws hair, looks so damn soft.
Also a couple of pieces from good pal
yifferfox /
badgerben , which include the bizarrely popular Tiffany Nadine, plus-sized Nidoqueen-morph. Really I don't see why she'd be more popular than Maleti, but hey I'm biased.
So yea there's all that gathering slight dust until I can knock my head around on putting some writing to them. Been good reasons why I haven't though, mainly different avenues of thoughts, thoughts that have had to go the way of the guide doodle.
Such as Formal outfits for Tom and Rags, the performing couple.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l.....Ragsformal.jpg
And rather importantly, the first mecha design for me mecha setting, the Frogger, named by buddy
Crossdog367 which certainly helped along hashing out the design.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l.....re/Frogger.jpg
Though hiccups there being I don't really know any available tecchy artist that could help me build this up and refine my hideous doodles into something more... mechanically adorable. So you know, tell a friend.
Actually need to get off my arse and add more to this, such as the method of the joints collapsing and folding in on each other for its free-wheeling mode. But c'mon, if someone can help find me an artist who is tech savvy, mecha curious and up for it there'll be a short-haired, glasses wearing Maleti in tight, tight, exceptionally tight piloting suit following up behind it.
And now for the usual spiel, because I know I'm not being watched and faved by a pack of mutes, speak up, ask questions. Find out things you might thoroughly enjoy. There's that whole broad range of potential in the Adventure project, there's the deviousness and freshness to poke at and find out about with the Mecha setting. There's enjoyable jiggle and wild teens in the Pokemorph project. Speak up so I can divulge in a more organized way and let us all settle back feeling cheap, used and mildly satisfied.
