So, early June 2017, I was talking to an artist I'd admired for many years and asked if they were open for commissions. They accepted, and I sent payment. Eventually, I did message again in early December, 2017 wondering about any updates since I hadn't heard from them in a while. They said they had been going through some tough stuff and apologized, and I told them it was alright and I understood, and that irl stuff definitely came first.

Around the 19th of December is the most recent activity I can find from them on any platform, they have all but stopped posting entirely and there seems to be no hint that my commission will actually be done, as the artist is effectively gone and I have no way of contacting them now.

This was only a 40$ bust, but still, it is a bit jarring having someone vanish like that, and I am both concerned for their wellbeing knowing they had been having a rough time, and a little distraught that the money has basically vanished with them. I don't really know what to do about any of this right now?

( Unrelated but similar, I also have a roughly 1000$ commission I am waiting for any updates on as well, and an art trade with someone that I haven't seen their half of, but I know life can be rough and overwhelming, and I am pretty patient about those. I've just also been ripped off for more than a grand before in the past so I am a bit wary about lengthy silences between the people I commission and myself, yanno? )

Either way, I would love some advice on this situation !

I'm Berrie, Reio's best friend. He ended up having to share his log-in information with me because unfortunately, something happened back in October that ended up putting Reio's laptop out of commission and he wasn't able to log in to give anyone a heads up!

He currently has his computer sent in to be fixed and the part has been ordered, but it's taking so long that he has no idea what the estimated time would be for the laptop to be returned. He wanted me to get the word out that as soon as he has his computer back, he will be working on the art he has owed to others! He's really sorry for disappearing for so long and leaving you all in the dark and are thankful for y'all understanding!

I'm currently trying to get ahold of a crystumes gator blank so I can make an equidilian suit head, thinking if I do get it I may take upon the task of trying to make Ingavar, my piebald ball python patterned Equidilian : ) No guarantee I will be able to get the blank but if I can, that's the plan !

Thing is, I won this auction. I ended up paying out nearly 1000$ dollars to own this suit despite the supposed final price on the auction. Here it is a year later, and I don't have the suit. It was never sent to me, despite paying in full, and the seller has not only changed their email address since then but also changed the name associated with it so I don't even know what their real name is! I've gotten ONE response since paying them, after more than 6 months of silence, only saying they have no money and I will not be refunded, but I still don't know if they even own the fursuit or not and if they do, if I am ever going to get it since I rightfully own it now through the legal contract of having paid for the product after winning the auction.

I need help, I'm not getting anywhere with them and I am broke with nothing to show for this mess besides the screenshots of all the damn money I sent them and the continued lack of communication from them in response.

Please, if anyone knows anything about this, please help?

** Edit, the unpleasant update is that the seller finally admitted she never even had the fursuit in the first place. Perhaps a friend let her take pictures of it or something but it certainly was never hers and she never had it to offer for sale. Also, I have talked to paypal, my bank, and looked into law enforcement options, and because of how long ago this happened and because she is an international seller, it seems like there is nothing anyone can do about this mess. Fortunately, I got promoted at work, so I am earning that money back a little bit easier now, but I guess this is just a lesson to me to not buy from sellers with no history of auctions and no feedback left for them, especially if the product seems too good for the price. Similarly, I've learned a couple things about protecting myself when using paypal ( so that i can in fact get the money back next time ) and I did manage to get their account flagged on furbuy and posted thoroughly descriptive buyer bewares with screenshots documenting all of my evidence to back them up, to quite a few places so she shouldn't be able to get away with doing this to anyone else so easily, if she dares try this stunt again. I think the fact that I told her she literally committed fraud, ran a scam, and broke the legal contract established between buyer and seller upon completion of an auction, all of which are serious issues and are in fact crimes, may have gotten it through to her though the gravity of exactly what she's done, so she may not try to do it again. Either way, I hope no one else gets sucked in by it if she ever does.

In a very polite way, even, that some of the slurs I have gotten used to hearing and using, even as an intersex person myself, are in fact slurs, and are actually pretty gross to use, especially around the trans community.

So in an actual genuine effort to break from this bad habit I seem to have picked up, I intend to stop using and stop allowing use of such slurs that label people by their genitalia. I don't know when I fell into the habit, but I do know why, and I honestly want to break from it. As I mentioned to the person who helped me realize this, it doesn't help the community at all for any one of us within it to be encouraging and spreading these slurs and making them seem acceptable.

I formally apologize to those I have inadvertently offended by using such terms, and you can expect to see changes in my tagging system as I go back through my files and find each and every little gross slur I have ended up throwing in here or there and remove them, in exchange for appropriate tagging.

I'm a guy with no penis. And you know what? Gender wise, all anyone needs to know is I am a guy, cuz I am. So I will tag things with the same manner in mind. To hell with what may or may not be here or there. I will tag based on gender, not physical sexual traits, because it is a beyond archaic system sorting and categorizing people based on genitalia, and I don't want to be promoting this practice..

Alright, so I want to formally apologize to anyone I owe art for taking so damn long on everything. Life sort of got ahold of me and overwhelmed me and I really got frazzled and lost track of everything

Alright so I've never done this before and am not sure how well it will go over or how well it will work out, but I have a partial suit and as much as I love the design of it, I pretty much never wear him so I want to see if I can trade him away to someone for a different suit. It wouldn't need to be the same number of pieces by any means, but similar value would be preferable.

The suit I've got is a monster bat, black and red colour scheme.
He has a foam based head ( a little big, but good vision and quite breathable ! ) with sculpey teeth
Large almost dragon-style tail with beltloops
4-fingered handpaws with resin claws
A pair of feathered costume-style red and black wings with elastics to be worn harness-style
A pair of size 8? digitigrade hoofboots
A pair of black and red armsleeves with elastic across the back and velcro across the front to be entirely adjustable and wearable under a tee-shirt. * they are from shoulder to wrist length, roughly )

Half of this costume was actually made by Sarahcat, the other half was made by myself ( we didn't work together on it though. I bought him from her and ended up making more parts to go with the pieces he came with, so he is a more complete suit now )

I love how he looks and feels and he is a hella cute, expressive suit, and I've put a lot into making him more whole, but I feel bad about the fact that he pretty much just sits in my closet all the time and never gets worn !

So I'd really like to find a good home for him, and since I don't quite feel right just flat out selling him, I'm hoping to maybe trade him instead with someone who also might not be connecting with a suit the way they had hoped to.

That's all I have to say on that matter. Playing the victim won't get you anywhere. Those who know what happened, know what happened. That's all that matters, really. I was very polite about this whole thing and have no regrets on how I have handled my end of this. And sending me a huffy PM then blocking me before I can respond to it only further reinforces this whole situation. I'm done, though. You handle this how you will, I see there is no talking sense, and I will not exhaust myself or frustrate myself over this.

Alright, so I need to refur my Imnotsa mask and in order to do that and to get started on building my next head I need an armature to build on for support because I can't keep doing these without support to build on.

I have $24.30 right now in paypal. The armature that is life sized is $64.95 + $5.94 shipping. So I need to earn enough to be able to get this so I can finally get back into the swing of things and really make good progress and finish this head properly and start on my next one.

I'm looking to doodle neat critters and usually I peruse the DTA's for cool creatures to draw for the hell of it, but haven't really found any that have caught my eye lately so I figure I will give my watchers' critters a chance : )

I think now that my classes for this semester are paid for, I’m going to open small commissions and such, cheap things that hopefully people will be able to afford so I can get enough money to keep working on my Imnotsa mask and perhaps be able to get it done in time for halloween or the renaissance faire.

The parts I need to finish the Imo mask are the gauges ( 1 pair of 1 1/2 inch tunnels and perhaps 3 more pairs of varying smaller sizes, about $30 minimum probably if I buy the largest pair in store ), and fur, ( 1 yard of "camel" solid long from distinctive fabric, $31 plus shipping )

So, I'll be keeping a tally to show how far I am from my goal of finishing this mask up as commissions come in : ) please help out if you can!?
