Echelons (venting, not venting)
Posted 7 years ago I have to say that having fallen from the echelons of furry artists (if you want to call where I was echelons a decade ago), isn't really that bad. I was never a name overheard at conventions, so I suppose even calling it a fall is an exaggeration, but I wanted to be up there. I tried hard (see: Tryhard), drew a sci-fi comic and garnered a small following. Not enough porn in it I guess. I never had that seemingly-furless-shiny-as-rubber shading, so that might have something to do with it. I don't draw much anymore, and it's not really due to any of the above. Life's busy. I had to adult, and so I did. Now I'm old - and that's okay.
I remember when I first got in the fandom, and the few brave greymuzzles' (at that time) style seemed so dated. Like... black and white old-timey funny animal Cuphead looking stuff. I thought to myself, "Huh, one day that'll be me, and my stuff will look dated." TA-DA! Here we are. I think my favorite recent comment on one of my pieces was, "Oh shit! That looks like old comic book stuff." I took it as a compliment, but it certainly reminded me of 1999 me looking classic furry art and thinking the same thing. - and that's okay.
In the end, I drew some stuff and a few people liked it, and a few of them I still chat/chum with. I cherish those people, not because they like my art, but because they're genuinely interesting people. I came out of this with experiences and relationships I wouldn't trade for all the furry accolade in the world. The kids don't get me.
-and I'm okay with that.
Thanks for reading.

One Electric Night - Info
Posted 8 years agoI finally decided to go full-bore on Maya and do some proper modeling, which turned into some texturing, and then rigging and before I knew it I was doing a full on porn scene.
One Electric Night is a five minute piece (with audio, because people seemed to like the last spank animation I did with audio). It's currently rendering and should be done some time within the next two weeks.
In the long term I'd like to do something more narritive, which will likely end up being somewhere in the 20-30 minute range. Of course, it'll also be porn, but I'd like to tell a little story that leads up to the slap and tickle because really, it's the journey, not the destination, and there's "destination"-a-plenty out there.
Maybe I'll collab with another artist for characters and story. Maybe I'd like to hear what you think?

I'm Back (...surprise)
Posted 8 years agoA day after I closed this account, I knew I'd have to come back. Here I am. After eight months of being away, the lack of exposure has taken it's toll. In order for me to make ends meet, I need to have a presence here. In the end, it's about what you want, and not about my security concerns.
I'll be spending the better part of the day mass uploading. Feel free to say "Hi" or "Welcome back!" or "Oh look, another drama queen comes skulking back to the herd. Loser."

Free art!
Posted 10 years agoSo
JiaSaykea is doing art-nouveau style busts (only two more slots left!) and they're FREE!
Personally I think they should be PWYW, but she insists that free is fine.

Tabira's Harem YCH
Posted 10 years agoTabria is the wealthy heiress of her father's fortune and kingdom. Of all her father's riches, she always desires more.
I'm doing a YCH soon and it's likely to be a short series. There'll be at least two slots (maybe more, that way more people get to play with her). Depending on intere$t it'll be anywhere from a sketch up to a cel-shaded series. Your character will be featured as one of her harem subjects (or "ushars").
If you're not sure who I'm talking about, you might have missed the sketch I did featuring her and one of her favorite ushars, Hazi: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16477257/
This all being said, I'd love to hear if there's something in particular you'd like to see in the series. Suggestions help me produce better results! Positions, scenarios, locations, clothing, toys, you name it, I'll consider it.
Keep an eye open for the YCH post and previews over the next couple days. That's where bidding will happen (not here).
Looking forward to it! I know Tabi is. >:)

IMVUFA
Posted 10 years agoA company that has been around for the better part of a decade is extremely unlikely to commit to an unprofitable acquisition. That being said, how does IMVU intend to profit from acquiring Fur Affinity?
Ad-space? FA is touted as a website with thousands of unique and return visits every day. Enough to warrant a buyout? Why not just buy ad-space if that’s the case?
Cross-interest? Dragoneer mentioned that this is a contributing factor in reply to one of hundreds of concerned comments, amidst a handful of supportive ones. If cross-interest was the driving factor in IMVU’s purchase of Fur Affinity, then they’re likely reeling from the negative response that flooded Dragoneer’s journal. Regardless, there will be fresh traffic to IMVU over the next few days/weeks. Enough to cover “about $20K worth of new hardware“ perhaps. Still, IMVU needs to see profit.
Dragoneer mentioned “We’ll also get paid coding help, additional resources to expand, grow and make the site everything it’s needed to be” in reply to concerned commentary. Promises of an improved front-end UI aside, IMVU is likely within it’s right to suggest significant alterations to how users interact with the site.
Online business is thriving on a micro-payment economy. While Dragoneer asserts “Decisions remain with me… I did get it in writing I’d still have creative direction over the site. There are no plans to change anything other than make improvements” interpretation of the term improvements is vague as best. It’s well within reason to imagine IMVU implementing some form of micro-payment goodies not unlike Deviant Art’s premium benefits package in the near future.
Change is understandably jarring. Is IMVU looking to destroy Fur Affinity? Why would they spend money on something they intend to break? Perhaps they’re going to fix the front and back end of Fur Affinity and provide all FA provides now, but with an optional subscription model with robust benefits for both artists and consumers that’s worth purchasing? Perhaps IMVU will enforce a PG rating user agreement? Either you’ll carry on, or you’ll drift to one of the many other sites. History repeats. This essentially changes nothing for you and maybe something for Fur Affinity. Let’s see what happens!

Games! (and work)
Posted 11 years agoMy vacation wraps up today. It's back to the grind on Monday (including commissions).
Jia got me a PS4 for Christmas so I could play Destiny with Levi and Phreddy; that being said, we're still sort of short on guardians for the larger Raids.
If you're interested in joining us (obviously for more than just Destiny), feel free to add me to your PSN:
Search for "Dr Neutrino" or "Dion Turner"
You'll recognize the icon.
See you in the 'verse!

Gnar Days on Social Media
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone!
The Gnar Days 2 premiere was a blast, and only a day after we're stoked about the coming season!
We're moving Gnar Days into the social media realm with a twitter account,Tumblr blog, and a patreon page.
Our blog and twitter will bring you weekly'ish photos, videos and accounts of our exploits while we're shooting Gnar Days 3. I imagine that there'll be more than a few spoilers in there too.
Levithan, Phreddy and I are super excited for this year's season, and we want to make it better than ever. We want to bring you the best experience from the peaks of Alberta and BC we can, while keeping you up to date on our adventures along the way. That being said, we could use your help to make it just that much better by following us on Twitter or Tumblr and if you've got a buck to spare each month we can push the envelope with better gear, more slope-time and even a dedicated soundtrack (we're in talks with Fox Amoore about this), special guests, and more!
If you have a chance, please spread the word about our fuzzy-gamey-downhilly action. You'd have our gratitude (and if you pledge, a credit in this season's video)!

DSV Nautica: Anathema
Posted 11 years agoI've looked into using Patreon to fuel a spin-off in the DSV Nautica universe, rather than distributing through dead-tree format once the season three of the main storyline has wrapped up, and it looks appealing. I've updated # with a teaser and intend to start posting as soon as the Patreon page goes live.
Once a couple pages are done, I'll post them here along with concept art. Chances are I'll be cross posting everything here, on my Tumblr and to Weasyl as well.
I'm in the midst of freelance work and working on commissions. I'll have more info as soon as I have time to dole it out. Thanks for sticking with me! <3

Comic Patreon
Posted 11 years agoSo I wanna get back into producing a comic, whether that's rebooting DSV Nautica, a DSV Nautica spinoff (based on a particularly riveting tabletop RPG storyline that took place over a couple years) or a comic involving Jessi... or something else? The idea of "funding" it through Patreon or something similar is enticing. Enough to make it a weekly update thing.
Thoughts? If I did this, what sort of comic would you want to back? How much should someone hypothetically pledge monthly?
Thanks for your input!

If you're interested in one, send me a note with a character reference link (or description). It's Pay What You Want. I'll reply with my PayPal info once it's done.
If you're not sure what's fair, it takes me between 1-2 hours to do each of these, so whatever you think is fair for that time.
Thanks!
Sleepy Icons - PWYW
Posted 11 years agoSo I've had a couple requests to open up icon commissions in the style of my current icon.

If you'd like one, I should have a day between finishing commissions and work to spend on a Pay What You Want stream for these. They take a couple hours to complete each, so the spaces for them will be limited (but distributed in a fair and random manner - assuming there's more than a couple takers).
If you can't make it to the stream, I may also open up a limited queue for them, but it all really comes down to fitting the time needed to finish them between finishing commissions (which have priority right now).
I'll post details on a date for the PWYW stream soon.
