Character Bits Part 4
Posted 9 years agoAlrighty, fourth installment of random bits of info on my characters' personalities and habits and the like, here we go:
Remmy's more "nocturnal" than anything, far more active during night than day. He prefers working during night shifts and will stay up late browsing the web or reading or watching movies and tv shows. He also has a habit of going out at like 5:30 AM to be there on time when the grocery store opens at 6:00 AM so he can buy what he needs and then get breakfast and go home and get some sleep.
Mason rarely buys stuff for himself. Most of his money goes to essentials like groceries and bills, and even then he's a coupon clipper, always going for bargains and low prices, trying not to use too much water or electricity. He gives some money to his son, and he keeps some to treat any ladies he manages to charm, which isn't a common thing. Most Mason will treat himself to is a few drinks and a cigar or two a month.
Freddy and Wayne both enjoy swimming and enjoy pools equally, but while Wayne prefers the beach, Freddy prefers rivers and lakes. Wayne likes the beach's crowds so he can show off his physique, and just finds it more fun in general, with the waves and the cute ladies and all. Freddy likes rivers and lakes better because it's less crowded, much calmer, and he's not particularly fond of sand, it gets everywhere. Freddy is also especially fond of the river near his house because he gets to skinny dip.
Cyrus is a rather good tipper when he goes out to eat. His first job, as a young teenager, was as a waiter at a local eatery in his hometown, so he knows how important tips are for people who work as waiters and waitresses. Even if the waiter or waitress is having a rather bad attitude, rather than deciding to not leave a tip right then and there, Cyrus will first try to talk to them, because he knows everybody has a bad day and some people have a harder time faking a smile and perky attitude than others, so he will try to cheer them up a bit. But if the waiter or waitress continues to have a bad attitude, Cyrus will absolutely not leave a tip. He's a nice guy, not a sucker.

Yes, it was two! Good showing!
Posted 9 years agoSo it's officially the 16th of August, and every year on the 15th I check up on how many people remembered my birthday, outside of family (Mom making an embarrassing big deal out of it on Facebook didn't help). This year only two ladies remembered, which is very low indeed. I keep waiting for a year that nobody remembers. I don't know why, it's actually rather fun to me when people forget my birthday. XD
I just lost two amazing people
Posted 9 years agoAs I mentioned in my previous journal, two days ago I got word that
stormcatcher, one of my dearest friends and a very special man, had passed away. Just a few moments ago, my mom called me to let e know that my dad's mother, my grandma, my only remaining grandparent, has passed away too. I don't know how to deal with all this.

Posted 9 years agoWhen I first discovered this whole furry thing a little over 10 years ago, it's putting it mildly to say I was pretty awkward, and it stayed that way for a long time, what with my complete lack of social skills. One of the very first people I met was
stormcatcher, who was very welcoming, and honestly, he's the very first person in this whole furry thing that I considered a friend, the first person who ever made a genuine effort to get to know me, befriend me and spend time with me, and thanks to him I made more friends that I hold dear. My very first furry friend, and what a friend he was.
For quite a few years, every single year without fail, we sent each other cards and letters for our birthdays and Christmas, and this year was no exception, I sent him his card and letter recently. Just today I got a letter from his mom. For some time now, Stormcatcher, Steven as was his real name, had been battling cancer. This past July 20th, the cancer took him away. Tomorrow, the 29th, would have been his birthday.
I'm in a lot of pain right now and having a lot of trouble processing this. Steve was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was energetic, boisterous, charming, always kind and so patient, tolerating my occasional immature bullshit. He shared in my love of geeky things and movies, especially horror, and it was always fun to share our opinions about movies and recommend some to one another, ever sent each other movies as gifts on occasion, among other things such as snacks. He absolutely adored guava paste. He was also a very gifted writer, it all flowed so smoothly and he was so creative and funny in the kind of dirty talk he used on his stories, he inspired me a lot to try to be a better writer myself, and still is one of my main inspirations in this horror book I've wanted to write my whole life and have recently been working on. He always strove to keep in touch despite how busy his work kept him these past couple of years, and we'd send each other long e-mails. He was just a great guy all around and in every sense of the word.
I just lost one of my best friends, someone who I considered to be like family. He was very special to me and I know he was to many others too, that's the kind of guy he was, always wanting to see people smile, always striving for others to be happy. I loved him, I still love him and I always will. God rest your soul, Steven, you'll be in my heart and thoughts forever.

Character Bits Part 3
Posted 9 years agoHere we go, let's see what else we can find out about my guys:
Remmy really hates when people he barely knows or doesn't know at all give him nicknames. He will ask them to stop if they keep doing it, and he may even lose his cool, he just hates it when people he doesn't know or barely knows get all "familiar" with him.
Mason is entirely heterosexual, but he's okay with Cyrus giving him kisses on the cheek or the top of his head. He knows Cyrus is just goofing around and means no harm, and they're so much like brothers that Mason's totally fine with it.
Freddy has the strongest set of lungs among my guys. As there is a river near his home, he learned to swim at an early age and has had a lot of practice holding his breath, and he can do so for a good bit of time. It also helps holding those long notes when he sings.
Wayne is vain and loves his looks, and he takes ages to get his hair looking nice. Even his own mother has told him he's the person who takes longer than anyone to just get his hair did and walk out the door.
Cyrus, being a bit of a doof as he is, has a small collection of aprons with silly sayings/phrases in them that he occasionally wears while cooking for his customers at the B&B.

Happy Father's Day
Posted 9 years agoI wish to shout out a Happy Father's Day to
musclewolf and
dineegla, and to many more in here, whether they be parents or not.
And of course, to those with their awesome "Daddy" characters like my own Cyrus and Mason, and those from
nievelion,
evane,
kougatalbain,
rasslor,
kokuhane,
rine,
spookeedoo,
braford0005 and many more! We furries sure know how to get dads right, don't we?

Posted 9 years agoYa'll remember Wayne, my hyena, right?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3769474/
Thing is, I've been seeing a bunch of hyena pics lately and they're all this bright yellowish/brownish color. Did I mess up with Wayne's fur color by having it be greyish? Should it have been that yellowish/brownish color? I can't get this out of my head now.

Does anyone have a spare PS3 controller?
Posted 9 years agoMy sister's boyfriend's kids were bought home to be babysat for. These kids are hyperactive and misbehave all day, and they know very well that they do not touch anything of mine. So guess what happened when I had to go out for errands? Mom let them have free reign of my PS3 while I was out so she could get them off her back, and lo and behold, the two little shitstains, known for breaking or losing everything they touch, broke the PS3's controller. The only controller it had. Ironically, it's their father's controller, because he wanted one with a turbo function for playing FPS games, so he took my controller out to put his, and now he has no idea what he did with my controller.
And, of course, nobody will reimburse me for that controller, they won't make up for it. No, I got to somehow buy one myself, and I know how fucking expensive they can be. That's why I'm wondering if anybody here got a used PS3 controller that works well and they don't need anymore so I can buy it if or when I can.

Character Bits Part 2
Posted 9 years agoHere's entry number 2 on my random bits of info about my characters to flesh them out bit by bit:
Remmy likes some chocolate bars, but won't eat one unless he puts it in the fridge for about 15 minutes or the freezer for about 5 minutes before eating it.
Mason loves taking his kid to the carnival, partially as an excuse to get to ride the rides and give no explanation for it beyond just being there with his kid. He loves carnival rides as much as he loves carnival foods.
Freddy really, really doesn't like hospitals. He's not scared of them, he just dislikes the atmosphere. And having to wear shirts to enter.
Wayne, being the jerkier dude among my characters, tends to be rather mouthy and will snap at anyone... with the exception of his grandmother (on his father's side, grandmother on mother's side is deceased). She's the one person that can make Wayne behave like a decent, polite person.
Cyrus prefers to not eat at restaurants, unless it's the type with an open kitchen. He's a bit paranoid about his food intake, being such a health nut, so he likes to see his food prepared in front of him just like he does for his customers at the Bed & Breakfast. So places like Subway and those Asian places that cook the food right at your table are right up his alley.

Character Bits Part 1
Posted 9 years agoSo I decided that, on occasion, I'll post random bits of information about my characters here in hope of fleshing them out to you all even more. I find that the more I know about a person's characters, the more appealing I find them, so I hope it works with my guys. For now, we have:
Remmy finds it very relaxing to go to 24 hour shops well after midnight, when barely anybody besides employees are around.
Mason, despite being a very masculine, gruff looking old pervert, is really good with children and knows a lot about what they like. Being a single father of a nerdy kid and wanting to be involved in his son's hobbies, no matter how geeky or nerdy they are, has helped a lot with that.
Freddy has a really good singing voice and he gets a kick out of going to karaoke places because people smile and applaud when he sings and it makes him feel happy that people like it. He'll even take requests, any genre of music is fair game.
Wayne's most embarrassing moment was during a bachelorette party he was doing his strip show at. The ladies asked him to wear a leotard and do the Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance. Which he did, the whole entire thing, since it only means more money for him and happy customers. And only after it's over did he notice that Freddy had arrived to the place to bring Wayne one of his stripper outfits he forgot, and he saw the whole thing. Freddy has never let Wayne live it down.
Cyrus is downright terrified of needles, to the point that it extends to people who have piercings in their body parts (eyebrows, nose, lips, tongue, nipples, belly button, private parts), it makes him feel a bit uneasy if he has to look at a person's piercings continuously. This fear also makes for an either hilarious or embarrassing sight whenever Cyrus has to get a shot at a doctor or hospital for whatever reason, be it being sick, blood samples or whatever, Cyrus will basically be a frightened, blubbering, whimpering mess.

So annoying
Posted 10 years agoOkay, I didn't really like the current TMNT movie much, but the trailer for part 2 actually looks entertaining. What's annoying me, though, is the hatred for Megan Fox keeps going on, people just fucking hate her just for simply existing. Am I the only one out there who doesn't hate Megan Fox? I just get grossed out by all the hatred a woman gets for no viable reason.
Weird (ETA: Never mind)
Posted 10 years agoAnybody else having trouble here in FA? Specifically, I can't look at any picture on full size, they just stay on the small size they are and won't show up in full no matter how much I try. I keep trying to find out what's going on, but to no avail.
ETA: The admins managed to solve the issue, thankfully.

Underrated Dog Breeds
Posted 10 years agoI love dogs. I seriously adore them in every possible way, especially larger breeds. But I feel that, when it comes to furry stuff, people stick to the same breeds far too much. What breeds would you like to see more of on furry stuff, or just get to see in general because you never do? Here are mine, in no particular order and if you don't know some of these, google or youtube them, they're adorable:
Bulldog
Mastiff
Bullmastiff
Bernese Mountain Dog
Newfoundland
Leonberger
Bloodhound
Boxer
Irish Wolfhound
Pitbull
Dogo Argentino
Bull Terrier
I know there should be more, but these are the ones off the top of my head, and figures all of them are either big, or short but stocky. What about you guys, what breeds would you wanna see more of?

Spreading word to help some good folks
Posted 10 years agoI want to spread the word, as my friend
dineegla recently underwent an operation and is in rehab, and thus he hasn't been able to work, meaning the bills are piling up for him and his husband
musclewolf, and they really could use some help, so do please go to Din's FA page to find out how you can help them and get a cute lil pic in the process.

Posted 10 years agoOkay, just on impulse, cause I love Flash. It's a great show, it's what superhero shows should aspire to be. Tonight's episode I caught the little reference to King Shark, it was cute and all. So when the actual King Shark, who's huge and buff as fuck and OH MY GOD IT"S ANTHRO JAWS appears in the final scene, yeah, I got the skin pigmentation scared the hell out of me. Furries everywhere may like this incarnation of King Shark despite his very short scene, but fuuuuuuck, that was scary!
TMI Tuesday
Posted 10 years agoSo, anybody got any questions for me or any of my characters?
Uh oh
Posted 10 years agoTurns out that storm, Erika, is gonna tear right through Puerto Rico. And since I live up on a mountain in the island's butthole, it means it's highly likely we'll lose electricity for who knows how long. I'll get back to you guys when it passes and we get power back. Just hoping we don't lose it in the first place.
Birthday Sabes!
Posted 10 years agoToday's the birthday of
stormcatcher, one of the nicest people I've ever had the fortune to meet in this whole furry stuff. Go wish him a happy one!

Jurassic World of Shit
Posted 10 years agoThe moment it showed Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as the stars, I knew it was in danger of sucking. And it did. It was so, so bad. It was way worse than parts 2 and 3. It was like watching a SyFy Channel Original Movie, with a big budget and none of he possible enjoyment of the "so bad it's good" variety, this shit movie is just plain bad. In fact, this is the whole movie in dialogue, and please read all of it in deadpan tone:
Zach & Grey- Hi, we're the kids for this movie and we will try to be the worst ones yet.
Claire- Hi, I'm Bryce Dallas Howard, the world's worst aunt, my job is my life and nothing else matters, so I'll spend the whole movie pawning off my nephews for others to take care of. I also fill the "hot scientist" role that is in every movie ever that has science in it.
Zara- Hi, I'm the cute assistant to Bryce Dallas Howard, and I'm going to get married soon. I just wish I could do my actual job rather than be forced to be the babysitter for these obnoxious little twits who keep sneaking off because my boss can't be bothered to take responsibility for the nephews that were placed under her care.
Dr. Wu- Hi, I'm BD Wong from Law & Order: SVU. You may almost remember me as the kindly scientist who appeared for two minutes in the original movie. Now I'm evil. Because.
Lowery & Vivian- Hi, we're completely irrelevant to the movie.
Masrani- Hi, I'm the park's new owner and that's about it.
Barry- Hi, I'm the token black guy that's not too token.
Owen- Well, I am Chris Pratt, making my entrance late to be cool.
Audience- Who are you again?
Owen- ... the unfunny fat guy from Parks & Recreation who lost weight and got buff to be the unfunny buff guy in the massively overrated Guardians of the Galaxy.
Audience- ... who?
Owen- ... I voiced the main character in The Lego Movie.
Audience- Oh, that guy.
Grey- What a cool park.
Zach- I don't care, I'm gawking at all the pretty girls even though I have a girlfriend, further working to be the absolute worst kid in this franchise cause I'm gross on top of annoying.
Claire- We need more money, let's create a genetically superior dinosaur. I hope it won't escape... oh, it escaped.
Owen- Well, the raptors are my buddies.
Hoskins- I'm Vincent D'Onofrio, I'm the obvious bad guy and I want to utilize the raptors as weapons.
Owen- Gasp. You're so bad.
Claire- We need your help, Chris Pratt.
Owen- Only if we force a love story that makes no sense at all.
Claire- Okay.
Zach- Let's go all by ourselves in this ball thingy to check out this park full of dangerous wild dinosaurs. Trust me, I'm a teenager and I know best. Plus putting us in danger like this now cements me as the worst kid in this franchise.
Zara- My boss is still refusing to take responsibility of her nephews and sends me out to look for them, putting me in the way of mortal danger. And the franchise has not had a woman die yet, so that on top of me getting married soon means I will not only die, but also have the nastiest death in the franchise and one of the clearest ever examples of overkill in any movie.
Zach & Grey- Oh no, our aunt refusing to keep an eye on us combined with our sheer lack of responsibility and common sense just got our aunt's assistant killed in the franchise's most excruciating death. But we're kids so we don't really care. And now we have gone beyond the scope of worst kids in a franchise and stand as some of the worst kid characters in film history.
Owen- There is chaos all over, flying dinosaurs swooping down to carry people to their deaths, and there are dead bodies all around us. Let's be inappropriate and make out.
Claire- Okay.
Hoskins- We'll use the raptors to hunt down the bad dinosaur.
Raptors- Hi, we're supposed to kill you.
Indominus- Well, I'm part raptor. So go kill the humans instead, okay?
Raptors- Okay, got it.
Hoskins- Oh. Oh no, I'm being eaten by the raptors. Oh, the irony.
Claire- I'll let the T-Rex loose so it can fight the dinosaur created by human greed. Also, the T-Rex is huge and can run fast, but I can outrun it by wearing heels.
T-Rex- I must win, I'm the audience favorite.
Raptor- Well, I'm also an audience favorite, so let me help you even though it makes no sense for us to use teamwork.
Indominus- I'm not so easily defeated... oh, the swimming dinosaur got me.
Claire-The danger is over, now we can live happily ever after. Where's my assistant?
Zach- Who?
THE END
God, this movie was painful...
Zach & Grey- Hi, we're the kids for this movie and we will try to be the worst ones yet.

TMI Tuesday
Posted 10 years agoDecided to try this again, since I'm bored. Anything you wish to ask about me or my characters, be it directly or through me, have at it.
TMI Tuesday. Go for it!
Posted 10 years agoI see people do these TMI Tuesdays often, so I thought I'd do it too. Anything you wish to ask about me or my characters, please do, I'll do my best to give a proper reply. Also, if you want my character be the one to answer rather than me, then sure, go for it. XD
Dang it, now I want one!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I finally got to discover the tv series Grimm not long ago. It's a lot of catching up to do on it but it's a fun, enjoyable series. But seeing it, now it has made me want to create a manticore character so damn much. They're so cool, now I want a manticore of my own, which would mean a lot of brainstorming, which means I'm not doing myself any favors. But I really want one!

Piercings
Posted 10 years agoOkay, no offense meant to all you guys out there who like or have piercings of your own. Just wanted to rant about the weird, huge surge of furry characters in here shock full of piercings. It's like I can't look in one direction of FA or furry art in general without seeing ears run through with one or several piercings each, plus lips, tongues, nipples, cocks, balls. Why is the new popular thing to turn furries into pin cushions? I just don't get it.
Ffff over 300!

maxima just reached and went over 300 favorites. I never expected so many, and it makes me feel all bubbly that so many people like a character I created.
