It's been a while since I've done much updating here, so I'm working to get these uploaded for you guys. I still use twitter as my main point of general updates but I'll try not to let things fall behind here. As more things get posted to bring things current I want to hear your thoughts on individual pieces and what you'd like to see from me in general and what you like that I'm doing. This helps me to sort of direct the work the way people would like instead of chucking things into the void and hoping people dig it.

So I've just been banned from Tumblr. I've put in a ticket but I do not have high hopes that my account will be reinstated. Why was I banned? Who knows. That's the thing, they don't explain that sort of thing to you until you put in the ticket and demand an answer. Near as I can tell it was because I mentioned my site or AnimeFlux's site in the text of my art post. When it was posted a bot probably caught it and I was insta-banned. No explanation, nothing.

But THIS is one of the MAJOR reasons I have my own site. I'm so sick of dealing with distant gatekeepers who are accountable to no one for nothing. If something goes wrong it's just how it is. If you're banned well tough luck. Tumblr was where I had my largest following and no every person following me has gone up and smoke and I'm back to struggling with finding an audience for my work. I've had a similar problem on FA as well where access to the site has directly harmed my ability to do my job and the ability of supporters to get access to the content they paid for. Patreon is guilty of it as well and THESE clowns are demanding that you give them your social security number and street address now before they pay you. (New policy this month)

I'm so sick of it. I'm tired of just getting shit on by people who I will never meet. PLEASE, you guys, if you want to support my work check out MY site where I can engage you on my and your terms. It's 12 bucks to sign up, you get access to my work, Hizzacked's work, and Animeflux's work. I know paysites are kind of a taboo with people, paying for porn? What? Years ago I came over to FA as a sort of digital refugee from an adult site that went tits up. The community as I've come to know it (meaning not the forums, yikes) has always been welcoming. But in the time I've been here the site has been attacked several times and each time it was simply annoying and nothing more. They've become more frequent and they've become more sophisticated, and this most recent time resulted in the theft of passwords. People I watch have reported attempts on other accounts of theirs since then. I haven't found anything yet but I still have to make the rounds and change passwords just in case.

I've transitioned from doing art just for fun to doing it to support my family. I make ok money at it but it's not making me rich. I try to conduct myself like a professional so as to maintain the business I have and attract more clients in the future who see my work.

FurAffinity's team is not professional. There is literally no accountability for our passwords being stolen and information compromised. None. I'm sure an apology was issued but that and a couple bucks will get me a soda at 7-11. It's useless to me. And they can't promise it won't happen again, not really. The personal drama of a few people somewhere else on the site and the animosity it breeds for the site as a whole is no doubt to blame and frankly I just don't know if I want to be around it anymore when I have so much at stake in maintaining the flow of work that I generate.

But I won't make the decisions just yet because really.... I'm pissed. And making a decision while I'm pissed is generally a bad idea. But I behave myself on the site, I play nice with everyone, I try to engage with people as often as I can in an enthusiastic way and I don't shit on anyone here and yet somehow I still have to go through this circus every month or so because some asshole on the internet hates some other asshole on the internet. How many other people posting their work here are in the same boat as I am?

I think I've had enough. I'm going to give it some thought as I calm down, try to arrive at a decision non-impulsively. But for those of you who are fans of my work I will provide other places you can find me as many other people are doing right now. I will also include a brief description of how it gets used.

A lot of people have asked me what was going to come of all the Angel Rangers stuff and I was pretty mum on it for a while. But after working on bits and pieces of this in the background with EventSpawn, I’ve decided to make it known to a larger group.

The Angel Rangers game will be something of a strategic RPG with smut thrown in to the mix. A lot of what we have right now are stand in art assets but the system which it runs off of is mostly solid.

So far I’ve had to split my time between Patreon work, commissions, and this…. with this getting the absolute least attention of the three. But now that we’ve got to a point where we feel like things are starting to come together I’d like to put the development of assets for the game forth as an option for everyone who is currently a patron or who would like to become one. The Angel Rangers stuff can now be put in to the mix for nomination, it can be voted on, and WIPs of it will become available to silver tier patrons in the future with builds being released to EVERYONE in the copper tier and up.

But this hinges entirely on your interest. I’m excited to be working on something like this and I’d LOVE to be able to dedicate more time to it to make it look awesome. Phase 1 battles are all fight and strategy but when a battle goes to phase 2, thats where the smut comes in. We’d also like to be able to make some relationships options between rangers and add MORE monsters as well as a couple of the secondary characters, IE a sexy Android Alpha.

Process
After payment has been confirmed you go into the queue. Once you’re piece is up I’ll be in contact with you often. First I will provide you with 1 to 4 pose idea sketches (if the commission proposed had a vague premise) and you’ll pick which you like. From there I move to the big sketch, which I send to you for approval. Then inks, flats, and final color. Every step of the way you get an updated WIP to confirm any changes. Once the piece is complete I can do a few minor one, but your chance to do get anything big is at each stage of the process.

Below is a brief list of things I do and things I don’t do, it is by no means exhaustive and I do reserve the right to refuse a piece with content not listed below.

This is not a first come, first serve situation. I’m going to jump on whatever interests me, so here are a few guidelines on how to submit your request.

+ Subject line should be “Commission”
+ Brief description of your character’s physical appearance. Include as little or as much reference in links to help visualize your character’s build if you wish.
+ Give a brief description of their personality as it pertains to the commission idea, so if you’re character is shy and you want that shown… include it. I do not need a character history for this.
+ Description of the pose if you have a specific one in mind. You may include references for this as well if it helps you describe what it is you’re looking for. If you don’t have a specific pose in mind, let me know and we can work something out using the “mood” of your character based on the personality description you gave me.


I have no fixed time for how long I will leave these open, but I will be trying to give it a minimum of a few days. After that point I’m just going to jump on whatever ideas look like they might turn out the best. If you are not chosen, worry not… a chance for more of these will no doubt come up in the future.

Wintry Pic: When the poll went up at the end of the month for what was coming next I actually didn’t expect I would be doing a seasonal pic. The vote went through twice (once to determine type of pic and then a theme for ‘seasonal’) and it looks like I’m doing something with a wintry theme… which means Ivy is back and in her Ice form to put it to her old vampire rival Robin!

Angel Rangers: Once I’ve completed the seasonal pic it’s been decided that Rita will be finally making her appearance in the Angel Rangers lineup. This one requires a bit of consideration to combine the Ideas of Dark Mother and Rita Repulsa together in to a single super sexy villain. When Goldar gets post publicly, you’ll know Rita is live on my Patreon!

Verdant Memories: Next page of Verdant Memories is slated for after the Angel Rangers project but might get shifted around in favor of voting, but it is still in the mix. Gold members are able to make suggestions every month, so there’s always wild card stuff that can pop up. Some of the sketches for Platinum members are also able to find their way into the mix for being colored up!

Platinum Overflow: I’ve found in the last few months that some of the Platinum members have become unresponsive or are content to contribute without claiming a reward every month. This means that some of the sketch rewards basically go unused. So each month, if I find that certain Platinum Members become unresponsive or give a pass on their reward, I will move to another person who is contributing the 20 a month but isn’t in the tier due to the 4 person limit I have on it. This means anyone who wants to bump up to 20 dollar contributions but has been deterred by all the slots being filled, can still get a bite at the apple!

While I will be sending out e-mails to contact people, if you are contributing 20 dollars to my patreon and are not IN the Platinum tier, let me know this is something you’re interested in so I can make something of a go-to shortlist to speed up the workflow.

For about a year and a half now I have been producing entries for a Trials in Tainted Space Bestiary, and for most of that time it's been quite a learning experience. I've learned a lot about patreon, a lot about what does and does not work with engaging an audience and a bit about what's needed to streamline my own pipeline.

But after a year and a half of working on the same project I've started to feel a little burned out on it, as I suspect a lot of my supporters have as well. Interest in the bestiary has begun to drop drastically in the last few months. I tried a few things to adjust and compensate but I think it's come time to move past the Bestiary and look at trying out some other things!

So as of August there will be no more Bestiary entries being released for Trials in Tainted Space. Instead I would like to bring all of my patrons something new and fresh and perhaps a little more engaging. I have been producing the Alkotas Primers when I can for the last half year, and I've had some pretty positive feedback. In addition to that the Angel Ranger series has also had a fair amount of interest in it as well. In the case of both of these, I'd like to move some narrative structure to them....be that illustrated stories or a full on comic.

I want feedback on this. I want your ideas and your hopes for what this could get you. If you're not a patron now, perhaps you would like to be? What would get you jazzed for something like that? Obviously if you're reading this you follow me on one of the sites where I post my work, so speak up, don't be shy!

I have a few ideas already for a comic, I will be gathering some stuff together to post “character clusters” or head shots of the casts of such stories with a general description of what's contained as well as the fetishes you'd likely see. Primers will accompany whatever missing characters are needed to fill out these casts so ALL the info you need is right at your fingertips!

Lastly, this will mean a large restructuring of my patreon. Right now the minimum reward tier is 7 bucks. That will be getting reduced a little in hopes that it will make my offering more enticing for a larger audience. I would also like to tweak what's available to people at the base tier and offering something of real value for people at higher tiers. For almost a year and a half I have had people eligible for rewards at higher tiers that have simply not claimed them, which is unfortunate.

This is another matter I would like feedback on. What sort of things do you find most interesting for reward tiers? Streams? Sketch Streams? Requests? Let me know and I will work it in. I very much want to keep doing this and working with the fans of my work, its a considerably more rewarding experience than the standard 9-5.

It’s been a little over a year since I’ve taken on the project of the Bestiary for Trials in Tainted Space and I’ve had some amazing support for it in that time. Patreon is an interesting model that connects artists would people with the desire to support them, but it’s a little imperfect sometimes and requires some tweaking.

I’ve done pretty well coasting on what I have right now, but there have been some who have expressed a desire to see other work from me make it to my Patreon. I’ve been posting my other work on patreon, but not restricted it to a pay tier or factored it in to the reward scheme for what individuals are paying and where the benchmarks are. So maybe I should.

So I’d like to reach out to my patrons, other artists with experience, and people who just know whats been working elsewhere. Right now I have a bestiary, but there are other things I could bring to Patreon and factor in to the voting and reward stuff.

-Additional Character/Region/Relationship info for my own fantasy universe.

-Sequential Art, be they illustrated stories or full on comics.

-Some more full color porn scenes, however they may come.

-Detailed images of ideas I've had for TITS but have not been accepted in to the canon.

-A slight departure from TITS with my own ideas to build up a unique sci fi setting in its own right.

And of course I’d love to hear any ideas you might have that are not on this short list. I’m looking for some feedback here, and I don’t care how long or short the thing is you have to say on the matter, hit me in one of my various inboxes with it so I can check it out!

You guys might have noticed that several of my most recent pics were "Alkotas" primers. Alkotas is the name of my own personal setting from where I pull much of my characters and material from. Because information has been so scattered on this sort of thing in the past, with lots of people just straight up telling me they didn't know I even had a singular canon, I thought I would begin to codify it all in to a singular format. But I want to make it something that everyone can sort of participate in. The first few have all been characters or things I have done on a whim, but anyone who wishes to make a request or inquire after other characters of mine they have seen, species, or even places.... I can include those in my following primers.

You can either submit those as a response to this journal or send me a note, whichever you would prefer.

In the past few months I've been pretty diligent on working only on paid work. I have a family I spend a bit of time with and friends I see every so often, but much of my time is dedicated to art paid for by generous supporters on patreon and commissioners who want their own custom works done. I usually can't justify spending any time on art I want to do, usually belting out a sketch here and there is the best I can do to scratch that creative itch.

A friend of mine made an interesting suggestion though: Adopt a Sketch. The idea is that anyone who wishes to see a sketch brought up to a finish could throw the money at it to make it happen....at a discount of course. I would take half the price of the line art and apply it as a discount. (Half because it's only a sketch, inks still need to be done). Additionally I would completely discount the price of any and all background in the image. The composition was essentially chosen by me with little to no input from someone else, so charging for a background that's likely shoe-horned in after the fact seems unfair to me. I think I'd also halve the cost of any and all extra characters in the image, as that charge basically reflects extra sketching in a different category.

This would mean that a full body sketch that is being brought up to a cel shade would run 30 instead of 45. A full body pic of two characters brought up to a cel shade would start at 35 instead of 55. The person paying gets to see a sketch they liked brought to finish and I get to work on something that scratches the creative itch.

It's an interesting idea, and it allows people who are fans of the work I was doing before to chip in and get more of what they liked and it gives me a chance to work on some of my own stuff and not basically have "dead hours" that aren't putting some food on the table.

Let me know what you think, I'm always interested in hearing from people and if this is a decent enough idea I'll run with it.

So I've been talking some time now about an upcoming project I'm looking to do, specifically the Trials in Tainted Space Bestiary. The goal of this project is to generate illustrations of each of the species found within the game, which later could be included in the game itself in a central database the PC would have within their ship's computer core. The Idea here is not only to lend a bit more of a visual feel to it than what Corruption of Champions had, but also to provide myself with a portfolio of these species so that I can be better prepared for taking on the game's character viewer itself in the near future!

There are a few unanswered questions though in regards to how to approach this project and what someone can look to get out of it, so I would like to turn to the community and to my watchers for their input on what they would like to see out of a project like this in order to make it the best it possibly can be. So here are a few things that need to be covered....



1) Originally I asked people if they wanted a representation of all the genders a given species had available to it and the result was a decided “Yes”. Now what this will mean in a game like this one, is that some species may have less than two genders and some may have more. I am assuming that in the long term scale of things, the average will typically come to two. If there is a species of naturally wild morphic bodies, there may have to be a compromise struck in only that a few examples are given on the illustrated end of things....especially if these creatures are more template than full creatures in their own right. But what I'd like to know here is whether or not people are only interested in a stripped down nude image for each, or if there is an interest in seeing the sort of wardrobe/armor/gear this species might typically wear.

2) A big question that should be addressed right away is the funding. The two main options appear to be Offbeatr or Patreon. Patreon has the benefit of providing the income at a steady pace over the course of time but the draw back of being new...at least in terms of me using it. This would allow people to pledge funding by the week for me to collect on and keep working through the week the way someone might any other given job. The other option is Offbeatr, which uses a more familiar crowd funding format in that things are pledged up front over a period of time and then the sum is collected in one lump chunk after Offbeatr takes a sizeable 20% or so. This has the advantage of giving me a large sum of money for adult stuff like getting married or maybe a down payment on a house of my own, but has the draw back of forcing me to charge a bit more in order to compensate for the percentage and still make that liveable wage viable. I'd love to hear thoughts on this from people who'd be looking to fund the project, and where they'd like to put their dollar. The project would be to service these interested parties afterall, and so they should have a say right?

3) Regardless of which payment option is chosen, benchmarks will have to be set and set numbers put down. Now offbeatr would require a lot of this stuff be decided up front and right away while patreon would allow a more dynamic shifting approach as the project progressed along.... but in the end the question remains: Which Species!? A lot of people are generating fantastic content for this game just as they did for Corruption of Champions and I don't want anyone to be left out in the cold on this... but I am only one person with my limitations. How do I decide which species get done? How should benchmarks effect this? Should someone get to make a sort of executive call if they've contributed a larger amount? Deciding which go in at which time is important and I'd like it to make sense, be fair, and above all service the people who not only are funding but the other people contributing to the project! Thoughts on this are a must.

4) As it stands now, the project is just illustrations. So many of the writer's are more skilled than I am with the written word, and so their content will be what is kept as the codex I'm sure. What I'm providing is the art. Which means that week after week people would be treated to new illustrations of each of the species when they are decided. However, I want to know if people would be interested in some of the information (all the info?) being included in an assembled format with the illustrations. Or perhaps even a digital book type thing at the end that combines the information given for the game with the illustrations I provide? Or maybe something that follows the lines of an artbook instead with a nicely formated book style, call outs, and bits of equipment added to the existing illustrations to flesh out each species in a comprehensive but visually focused way? I imagine this sort of thing would need to be a benchmark of sorts, as the compiling and additional material, if not already provided, would need to be generated on top of everything else after the fact.


However this goes down though, this will effectively be my job once it is underway. For the last month or so I have been getting up at the same time every day, getting on my computer, and banging out art for people on a piecemeal commission basis. It's been ok so far, but if a week is dry it adversely effects my home life in sometimes severe ways as shortages of money often do. I work for eight hours or so a day, sometimes more and seldom less. I often stream these things for people to interact with me as I work, sometimes on their stuff. I have the discipline, I have the drive, now I just need the work and the funding to make sure it is being put to good use. As soon as this project is under way, my full work days of nothing but art become focused on this and the Transruption project, the latter of which needs a good deal of work so that it can lend assistance to the TITS character viewer down the road.
What will this mean for commissions? It means the ones I have will be finished on my own time in the evenings, possibly during bonus streams or while I'm chilling out watching netflix. After the existing commissions are completed, future commissions will be taken on a case by case basis as the main projects work permits. If I was using the Offbeatr format this would mean likely less commissions, but if I was using a Patreon format it could mean folding some of that work in to a given weekly workload, depending on the kind of funding I'd be pulling in weekly. Obviously if everybody is throwing me a tone of money I'd like to justify that funding with more work provided.
So there it is, I want people's thoughts on all of this. I want suggestions, comments, ideas. Whatever you got, throw it my way in whatever means is best for you so that I can use it and get this project posted and underway as soon as possible.

With the last of the sketches out of the way, that concludes the Futanarize yourself sketch sale! I hope everyone who got on is happy with the work that I’ve done for them, and if any one of you want to get the sketches fully CGed and given the business, let me know and I’ll pro-rate the final commission price. -Send me as many refs as you can comfortably manage. This includes poses if you want something specific for yourself. If you want to get naked for anatomically correct purposes, by all means I am fine with that. Know that every and all pics sent to me for this event will be destroyed when it is over and never be reposted anywhere else.

So I've put it out there that I'm looking to do another commissions sale, but the reception of it being for sketch commissions seems a bit soft. So I'd like to ask if people would prefer a promotion for fully colored work? I also heard a suggestion regarding Cuirizu as well, so would people like to have a Cuirizu Themed sale? Something where the commissions related to the theme would cost less?

The idea was originally a play on the Futanarize yourself sale, where you made yourself in to a Cuirizu. But it could easily be made to encompass generating any old Cuirizu that you wished to create!

I'd love to hear some feedback on this one and get some people's opinions. What do you think?

So I've done some Digging on this FA Drama, and I find the whole thing pretty reprehensible. Even if certain rapey parties did not engage in rapey activities, the fact that someone with such crap swirling around them on a regular basis could be put in control of large portions of the site is a recipe for disaster. It's asking for things to fail. And for an admin who is best buddies with such a people or persons to look the other way simply because they go way back speaks a bit to that persons capacity for good decisions.

I won't get in to it farther, as I hear that's a banable offense these days. I wanted to make my stance clear because I won't be leaving this site. As bad as some of the people up top are, I've had nothing but good experiences with the -community- I interact with on a regular basis. You'll notice a huge lack of furry porn in my gallery, and yet I've still been made to feel welcome here by the "type of people" who I was led to believe had some serious issues. Well I've felt nothing but welcome here by those people, and so long as part of that community that has made me feel so welcome remains here, I will remain as well to lend support and friendship.

I personally feel like treating the site like the elves did middle earth is.... premature. It also shows a willingness to detach one's self from an otherwise good community at the first sign of trouble. I know the stuff being thrown around is pretty fuckin bad, but there are other people kind of in the trenches getting shit on who just kinda got ditched. Dick move.

While technically I only did 28 in the month of December, I had set out to do a "Month" and figured to myself Four weeks. When it came to the closing of it I thought I would do two more in the last week to round if off to 30 days. But an unexpected chance to spend the holidays with my Better half and our daughter down in Utah sort of put those last two days out of the question. Priorities and all. Either way though it was quite the challenge and kept me pretty energized for art while working through a funk. Sometimes I get in to them where the digital component of art just doesn't feel right and I sort of go back to sketching on paper to re-center myself. Worked wonderfully this time while still pushing me to draw every day.

With that in mind the special rates for those commissions are closed too as well, as there are no more sketch a days for now, there will be no more commissions using them. Makes sense right?

But I might try this again in the future, it worked really well. For those of which got a commission from me for the sketch a day, if you wish to have it brought up to full color later...I will offer that to you for the normal cost minus what you paid for the initial sketch. So if for whatever reason the price would normally be 60, shave 15 off of that and that would be your price. Assuming of course you were pleased with the sketch and wish to see it given the full treatment.

Same as the sketch a days as I've been doing, but now you can get your OC in there! 15 bucks gets you a spot, the best part of these is that I'll be doing one every day at least for another week and a half, but if the turn out is really good I may go in to a Bonus round of sketch a days and just keep it going! By and large I'll figure out the posing unless you got something in mind and have a reference, I'm not looking for massive descriptions of things though, so the best thing is give me a "style" you would like or even reference something else you've seen in the sketch a days that have already been posted.

I've seen more artists doing this around here lately, where an artist tosses up a bunch of pre designed characters and people bid on it and it becomes theirs. I remember hearing about this initially when I knew someone doing it on Gaia, but I hadn't seen it on DA until recently. So this got me thinking...

Is this something people are interested in? I mean specifically from the point of view of my watchers and my work. Is there anything that you could think of that I could put out that might be of interest in this? Cuirizu? Linirym? Something else? It's an interesting concept and it would let me be able to toss out a ton of the design ideas without getting caught up on the various details of what to do with it and story and so on.

I'd like peoples thoughts on this, while I'm not saying I would definitely do this....having an accurate representation of people's interest could help me ponder it out a bit more.

Basically you just spread word of the contest, which is what enters you in the contest. Then a person wins 100$ at random. We'll see where it goes.

Response to this was much larger than I thought it was going to be, and while I did consider opening additional slots to accomodate everyone I don't want to over promise something I may not be able to deliver on. Three slots seems incredibly reasonable to me in light of my existing workload, and should I go through these quickly I'll be putting up another sale in the interests of catering to those who perhaps missed out this time around!

What would you be more interested as a limited slot commission offer?

1. Your Original character bearing a Vitality Harness and Virility charm as in "The Harnessed" pin up series for a special reduced price.

2. Your Original character having some sexy one on one with an Original Character of mine with special pricing that gives my character as a "free" add on.

I like both ideas, either one would have very few slots, but I want to know what other people are interested in.

If I were to offer some simple commissions would anyone be interested in that sort of thing? Nothing too crazy and nothing for sure, but I’m trying to get a feel for people’s level of interest in this.

I have a new friend who's looking to fund a sort of Hentai game he's looking to put together in the tradition of Corruption of Champions, but with a little more concentration on art. Now he's raising money for this game and should he make it, is looking to pull artists in from the adult art community to do art for the game. He doesn't want to stick with just one artist but wants to sort of spread it around and make it something of a community project.

The premise of the game is fantasy, and revolves around the main PC waking up after something of a fantasy end of days where the world has been warped and changed drastically by the magical doomsday that befell it in the PCs absence.

If any of these things are of interest to you go hit up his site and of course pledge some money. I really like what he's trying to accomplish not only creatively but also within the adult art community. Even if you have nothing to contribute yourself, spread the word out there to more people who would be down with it.

My Contribution to the project so far has been for one of the NPCs by the name of Nelle who is a half goo girl, a party member and romance-able character that the PC can get involved with.
