FINALLY! We didn't get ANY last year!

That's right! After quite a lot of deliberation, I've finally decided to open up for commissions.

My terms of service are as follows:

First, I reserve the right to refuse any commission, for whatever reason.

The most likely reason is that the idea just doesn’t grab me or spark my mind in the right way: I do *not* want to do a commission am I not passionate about or interested in, because I feel the work would therefore suffer, and in turn you, the commissioner, would not get your money’s worth.

I’d rather not do a commission than take a commission I know I’m not going to be able to do well.

I can’t predict *what* will spark the things in my brain. I’m generally easily excitable, but… the writing muse is a fickle thing!

SUBJECT MATTER:
I’m rather flexible in terms of subject matter-even things that I might not necessarily enjoy, I could find interesting to write about. So please, feel free to ask! I may not agree to write it, but I won’t judge, either.

My speciality (and main interest), is, well, vore. But I’m happy to write non-vore stories, and have a few flitting about my head as-is. So transformation, size-play, straight out-and-out sex, light bondage, watersports, etc etc-I’m happy to give ‘em all at least a listen! And while many of my stories involve furries, I’m happy to use demi-humans, humans, elves, sapient-ferals, etc!

Not entirely sure what you want written? No problem! I’m also happy to sit down and brainstorm ideas, bounce possible plotlines off of you.

My going price is $5 per 500 words
500 words is about 1 page Times New Roman, 12 point font (with whatever margins Word uses).

Please give me an estimate of about how much you’re willing to spend, and I’ll try to fit the story into that space , and please be realistic about this. If you request a mutli-character epic spanning a dozen locals and then say “Oh, but I only want to spend $10, so can you fit it into that amount?”, I’m going to say that I cannot do that. If I go a little bit over your estimate, that’s not a problem. You get some extra words! For FREE!
If I go a lot over your estimate, and I can’t find a way to tone it down, I’ll contact you and see if we can work something out, or if there are aspects I can remove.

I will require payment before I deliver/post the full story. However, I will not (for now) require payment before I write the story, since story-writing can take a bit.

Still a bit stunned, but also pleased by this turn of events.

Thanks to the judges, my friends who let me use their characters as supports, and all my opponents along the way: You made this fun. =3. Also nerve wracking. But also fun!

I think this has served as a big bolster to my confidence. Once I get one gift story that's been languishing in limbo for like two years, and another story that's been bouncing around my noggin for almost as long, I'm really considering offering story commissions.

But, yes, it's the new year! Its amazing how fast time goes by. I think one of the things I'm going to focus on this year is story-writing outside of tournaments. And hopefully, getting comissions for stories up and running. We'll have to see!

Time's passage feels so weird these days.

I know I'm far too young to feel old, but I still do sometimes. XD

I'm off to volunteer at a camp, then spend some time with my family, where I'll have limited 'net access in both events. This won't stop my VOCT3 participation: I'll have some computer access, I have the information I need, and I'll have a notebook to write in.

So, I've entered the VOCT3 (Wow, it's been a while since my last journal). So far, it's fun and interesting. I like the way 'powers' are distributed. =) We'll see how far I can get this time...

Otherwise, life is going, eh, alright, I s'pose! Gonna get to move into a new apartment soon, which is always fuuuun.

Finally posted my story 'wrapping up' the VOCT2 story line for Lillan.

Well. Sort of.

: Praexon: and I collaborated a *lot* during the tournament. Though we (sadly!) never got a chance to go up against each other, we still occasionally used each others characters, as their plots had common threads (admittedly, it was by talking with Praexon that I was able to actually suddenly string together a good plot for Lillan in my head!) .

And we may, in the future, continue their storylines in some collaborative stories! =3

On the story front, I've got:

Field Research 2: Finished, except for the fact that the dialgoue, as it stands, is really bad. It feels really.. choppy, I guess. And there's one scene in it that just feels awkwardly written. I'm probably going to step away from it to work on three other stories (two requests, and one that I just need to get out of my head and onto paper!), so I can return to Field Research 2 with a fresh mind. =3

Thanks to all of those watching me! It helps give me the motivation to continue. =3

Hooraaaay. =) I can't wait until it's over: I can finally start doing some more research (and some more writing! The only problem is I have too many ideas....

Also, I passed my prelims, so I am officially on the PhD track. Hooray!

... Now I have to make a one to one-and-a-half powerpoint presentation for next tuesday, for the Prelims.

AND I have homework due monday! Huzzah. =P

Approximately 40 hours until my qualifying exam. An hour-and-a-half oral exam in which four professors grill me on what I learned in undergraduate physics. I only get two shots at it
/Though no one has failed twice...

Thankfully, it seems like it's mostly going to be focused on Electrodynamics and Magnetism and Quantum Mechanics, so I've been able to laser-in my studying on those two areas.

Still, not having much of an idea of what will be on the test is REALLY NERVEWRACKING. XD

I got 4th in the VOCT2-far better than I'd anticipated (though I admit I'd hoped to win it, having gotten that far!). I won't lie that it knocked the wind out of my sails for a little bit, but I quickly got over it.

The reason there haven't been any new stories (not even an unnofficial ending for Lillan's story in the VOCT2) is quite simple:

Graduate school is kicking my ass. In less than a month, I have my preliminary exam and qualifying exam. One is an oral exam in which four professors grill me for an hour and a half on everything I learned in undergraduate physics. EVER..

The other is a hour-long-presentation on the direction of the research a plan to do. Both of these determine whether I get put on the PhD track or not. Now, I do get *two* shots at both, and no one here has ever failed both, but.. it's a tetch nerve wracking!

I promise that I have *not* abandoned the field research series, the little stories I've promised people to hone my skills, or the other ideas bouncing around my head. =) Those *will* get done.. hopefully, time will teach me how to work on these stories on the side better. I'll certainly need that skill if I ever want to take commissions for stories!

Well, I'm out of the VOCT2. I will admit, I'm actually a bit bummed, moreso because I had wanted to continue my story than the prizes. The prizes would also have been really nice, though!

So I've decided on a few things.

First, I'm going to write an 'alternative', potentially non-canon story following my loss of round 5, hopefully wrapping up Lillan's story. Whether or not it's canon can be up to whoever wins the tournament.

My other future plans include:

Working on/finishing Field Research Entry 2 (And future entries),

working on a few small stories with less scope, for a few friends and myself,

and lastly, an idea that's been bouncing around my head that I blame  samanthaweltzin for.
When I first started story writing, I was (and still am) fishing for ideas for, well ,vore stories. Stuff people would like to see.

Humbug suggested a story with a 'mystery' as a premise.. which my mind took and blew up into a full-fledged, multi-story, tongue-in-cheek noir-style series of stories. I haven't got all the details (or all of the plot) hashed out yet, but I've got a firm foundation that I'm building on as I brainstorm.

Just a.. heads up, I suppose? That seems rather self-aggrandizing, but whatever. =)

I know I'm not nearly old enough to feel 'old' yet. But, still, whoa, 25 on Saturday. o.o. I'm not sure I could even conceive of where I'd be or what I'd be doing 10 years ago.

Dear lord. I can't believe I've made it so far.

If I win this, I go on to the finals.

I've grown so much during this tournament, I think, writing wise, and I've gotten a LOT of helpful feedback. It's also given me the chance and motivation to develop my own style of writing, and to learn my weaknesses and strengths.

Even if I lose here, I'm fine with that. If I continue onto the finals.. wow. XD That would be amazing. =)
