Dad's kinda cool in a "he's a cool guy" kinda way, sucks as a father. Mom does the friend mom thing. Didn't really know mom until I was 15, didn't live with Dad until I was 10. I was raised by my grandparents, who are AWESOME. Oh, and there's a crazy manipulative stepmom in there somewhere.

On what? I'm a very near atheistic deist who thinks there's probably not a god, but if there is it doesn't give a crap about people and doesn't intervene and break the laws of science. If there is anything like an afterlife memory is not retained, nor is personality because those are stored in your brain. I'm an existentialist, I believe you give your life meaning, there is no inherent purpose to live. And I'm some weird shade of liberal libertarian.

Day 10 – An inspiration
I don't know. That guy who stood in front of those tanks in China. Every time I see that photo, I tear up a bit. There's nothing more inspirational than when a good cause is more important to someone than their own life.

Mikey, 19: Idiot who lives with me. Our mother kicked him out for getting arrested. he is a sophomore in high school.

While I do love doing absurdly cheat commissions, and I hate that some artists can charge $100 for a YCH thing then just spend 30 minutes making it look like whoever spent that much... I do acknowledge it's time for a price change. I now have my own tablet, and I've improved my skills quite a bit, so the time and quality of my work is increasing.

So, it's finally been shipped. I got 2-day shipping because it was free, so on Friday I will finally stop borrowing  runawaydanish's stuff and be able to work for you guys all on my own!

Little known fact: I have a fairly functional brain. It even occasionally thinks sometimes. So the other day, I got around to thinking about my family history.

I'm about 35% Native American, all on my mum's side mixed in with some Hungarian, but I don't know my mom's side of the family very well. On my fathers side, however, I have 25% Slovenian and 25% Italian. I am so Slovenian, I have an aunt Solveg. My family calls me Agus, even.

When my great great grandmother came to America, where she met her husband, she didn't speak a word of English. Her husband barely spoke any. Their children learned English in the school system.

My family, as you might imagine, began working in the factories during the industrial revolution. They were the poorest of poor. When the Italian side of my family reached the Americas, they also barely spoke English and were also very poor. The Slovenians did factory work, the Italians joined the military. By the next generation, things improved. My great grandmother on the Slovenian side didn't have to work, she raised her children while my great Grandfather worked in a mine. By the time my grandparents merged the Italian and Slovenian, they could afford to build their own three bedroom house for them and their four kids. My grandpa was in the Navy, then worked at a car factory, my grandma cleaned houses and waitressed. Half of their kids were able to pay their way through college.

Now, generations later, I am about as white and "American" as you can get. I grew up in an upper middle class family with a well paid machinist father and a stepmother in human resources. I am going to a university with a fairly good reputation, probably one of the best state schools in the country.

Compare this to a current first generation Mexican immigrant. She doesn't speak English, she'll (statistically) have a lot of kids, be very low income, her husband will do some terrible job with horrid working conditions. And we hate her. We think she should learn English before living here, that she's corrupting our streets with her weird culture.

Why? How does she differ from my great great grandmother? How is she any less American than the woman I've never met who I am so proud of- Who came here without understanding a word of our language, without knowing an ounce of our culture. Whose husband worked 12 hours a day in a factory, whose 8 children barely spoke English either. I don't think anyone would argue that she wasn't some symbol of the American dream. Why is the current immigrant such a foreigner to us?

Pay attention to other people, other cultures. Be empathetic. You might actually seem like a decent human being if you do.

You should draw me. And I should draw you.

Granted, no one has been a dick to me EVER during my time on FA. Everyone I've directly associated with has been really nice.

But I've definitely seen some real dicks almost constantly on this site. Just today I saw someone post a reference (very politely) when they asked for a request, which is normal right? I guess not, because some douche replied about how she was stupid for feeling proud of herself over having a reference. Like, he spent a good paragraph bitching her out for posting a link. What the shit.

Also, last night when  runawaydanish and I did a stream of free art, some asshole bitched at Zano for not drawing their character very well. I'm sure anyone reading this already knows this, but I'll clarify. Art is a service. It is a luxury, ESPECIALLY if it is free. You do not have the right to be a douche because it is not up to your expectations when you did not pay a penny for it. You can politely comment on the quality if you feel so inclined, but why be an asshole about it? Even if you are paying, you should always be polite to the artist. We don't have to waste our time on you.

Really, I think the FA douchery stems from  jelethorim 's one journal where people got on his case for wondering what a certain kind of relationship would be like. I think ever since then I've been cursed to watch perfectly nice people be treated like shit on this site. Way to go, Jelethorim. I hope you're happy, dick.

So I have been super hella busy moving into a new apartment, transferring to a different college, and wrapping up this semesters classes. But I am still (slowly) working on requests.

Lightair for  armoredlightdragon is about 80% done.

I have a digital piece about 50% done for  Maher and have yet to start the second piece for her (though I look forward to it, so it'll probably get done fast once I get to it).

Also I have another that may be coming in, and I have a piece of my own sketched out that I plan to work on soon. Overall, here's my projected schedule.

Lightair: 1 week max, might even be done tomorrow.

Maher digital: 2 weeks.

Maher #2: 3 weeks.

French maid kitty bondage comic will probably be done in five weeks.

I do (almost) all of these traditionally so even if I wasn't super busy they take awhile.
