In short, friend who takes shrooms, gets high and goes crazy at FC last year, decides to take friend to FC this year. Convinces her that they don't need to book a hotel, because they'll be partying all night and can just fall unconscious on the floor for a few hours and that's all they need. They also don't bother to register for the con, and are surprised when they get kicked out of the party floor. Well, at least they got them the next day.

Pardon me for not giving the slightest shit about what your opinion on the furry fandom might be. Some of us might engage in the kinky fursuit sex that you allude to, but the vast majority of us are better behaved, more sensible and better prepared than you two.

Hey there, guys! Sorry if you've been waiting for replies from me recently. I didn't get the chance to post a journal before setting off for California.

Now I'm here at Further Confusion and things are going very well so far... Apart from the fact that both the Hilton and Marriot hotels (the ones attached to the convention center) are both part of a pact for internet daylight robbery. Let me explain...

Internet access at these hotels is NOT complementary, unlike most good hotels. The charges are about $13 per day, or $40 for a week. Can you believe that? Personally, I can't. But it's true.

What is more, despite these outrageous prices, the wireless in the hotel lobby is completely FREE. So that's what I'm using now. Shame the reception doesn't reach the 8th floor. I have to bring my laptop down here and put it on a desk.

Anyway, hope you're all well. =)

FA has recently added a whole bunch of new options to the species list for the submission page. I mean, a lot. dozens... including shark, crocodile and My Little Pony (okay, lied about that one).

This is good news for many people! But, if you have dinosaurs in your gallery, watch out. There are now TWO dinosaur categories. Now, if you were categorising dinosaurs, what would you choose? Maybe Carnivores and Herbivores? Well, that's not what they decided to do, apparently. They chose:

- Theropod
- Sauropod

You can only categorise your dinosaur if it's one of these two. So if you're anything else, you're out of luck. There is NO 'Dinosaur - Other' category.

Also, if you have raptors in your gallery, be extra careful because ALL existing submissions that were under the 'Dinosaur' category have now defaulted to Sauropods, which means your work is incorrectly categorised!

Not very clever.

Hey folks...

It's well known that a lot of furries and scalies are geeks. So I'm putting this out to you. I want to build a new gaming PC that'll be good to play Battlefield 3 soon, and Mass Effect 3 when it's released next year. I have no trouble putting these things together, but my knowledge of current-gen hardware is not up to scratch. Please advise! Here's what I'm thinking of getting...

Monitor: ~24", full HD. Should I consider getting an LED screen over LCD?
CPU: Intel i7 (what's so great about the 2000 series compared to the 900 etc.?)
Motherboard: not a clue (but it should support triple channel)
RAM: 12GB triple channel (6*2GB). What brand?
HDD: two SSDs in RAID 0 (minimum combined capacity of 200GB)
Graphics card: Not sure, but not afraid to get a twin-card or SLI/Crossfire
PSU: I'm hoping my current Corsair 850W will do just fine.

Dino D-Day is free for all to play on Steam until Sunday! It's also half-price until the end of the week (that's about $6 to you).

If you haven't heard about this game, check out dinodday.com. For anyone who has played Day of Defeat: Source, it's similar to that, but with dinosaurs as well as soldiers. Like other class-based games, understanding each species is crucial for success.

I first played the game when it was released a few months ago, and wouldn't have recommended it to anyone but those who just wanted to play as raptors. The gameplay was a bit buggy and generally quite irritating (there wasn't even any damage indicator). However, they've made things a hell of a lot better with the latest update, including new dino classes for both sides. It by no means stands up to the potential awesomeness of Primal Carnage but it's still good enough, so give it a go!

I've been to two fur conventions now and I have a few awesome photos I think I should share with the world. Clearly, I can't upload them to FA because of the upload policy, and even if I was allowed, I probably wouldn't.

So, where do you think would be the best place to put them?

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Flikr because I see several other furcon photos uploaded there, its interface seems pretty clean and you can add photos to groups, as well as other nice features.

Basically, the title says it all. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then 'happy holidays'!

I'm heading to FC 2011 in three weeks (I spend so long waiting for it to come, and now I'm panicking!) I'm meeting up with my best buddies deiwea, sabredragon and anybody else crazy enough to come along to this furpile. I hope it's warmer in California than it is here in the UK (ranging from -5C to -10C).

Sigma does have an anthro form that I roleplay with occasionally, but he's never been depicted before. That's now been fixed!

I am delighted to have this piece commissioned by the talented ulariogryphon who does brilliant raptors, dragons and avians. I snapped at the opportunity to get this while she was looking for more dinosaurs to draw. If you like Anthro and you're not already watching her, do it today!

After returning from Pittsburgh, I had aching shoulders, a painful leg, flu symptoms, severe tiredness and two popped ears from changes in flying altitudes. And I just slept for 28 hours. But I'm still in one piece, and I'd do it all again in a snap!

I'm Back!

I wasn't really away, but just not very active, as usual. But I have my excuses! Work is one of them, and my holiday with SabreDragon was the other one. It was a month ago, and I know only a couple of people read this journal, but it's better late than never, simply for the sake of keeping my profile up to date. I'll be brief!

I first went and saw the Walking With Dinosaurs Live show in Canada in 2007. It's been two years since I last saw SabreDragon so it was a blessing for the show to finally come around to touring the UK, like I wrote in my last journal. In those two weeks, we toured pretty much everything there was to see in London, including many things I hadn't been to myself, since I'm not really the tourist type. There was plenty of video gaming, movie watching, hugs, nuzzles and bondage too. ^..^'

During that time we also met up with BlackRaptor in London on her transfer to Germany to visit a dear friend, and we stayed with Crimson (tawatkin) who came to enjoy the WWD show. So not only was it a great holiday, it was almost a mini-furmeet as well.


TL;DR! When are you submitting more art?

And now, I hope to have some time to myself. And I promise I'm doing all I can to push real life aside and finish off some art.

Because my digital colouring skills are better than my drawing skills, you might find me also doing some digital recolouring of other people's works, with their permission.

Now the Photoshop techniques here aren't absolutely terrible, but they are certainly amusing. They didn't even attempt to do the arms or hands either. Guess normal people would freak out at anything more than that!

I mean, how can I even begin to work when I get captured and held hostage for someone's Christmas present?

Well, my biggest thanks to Krayne again for the gift, and also for the attention I get in return. Thanks to all of you who came to visit and watched me in the last month! I'll use this holiday time I have to do something new, I promise! In the mean time, I'll submit something old, for fun.

For those of you that only watch me here on FA, this is an obligatory journal to let you know that I'm still harnessed and shackled up and won't be getting away any time soon!

I finished university this year and all is well... So I hope to be producing more work again soon. Why haven't I made any already? Apathy and depression. I put tasks on hold day after day... Hopefully I can shake it off. In the meantime, comment! Like I said before, all kinds of feedback makes me happy and hopefully I can get a confidence boost and a burst of inspiration before the end of the year. =)

Sorry for being a total FA n00b, but how can I find out who made the drawing?

I was actually wondering about the concept of 'ScaleAffinity' recently. scaleaffinity.net is currently available. I thought it would be cool to have the domain reserved, and have it mirror FurAffinity, but perhaps change the page style, just as has been done at the moment. Emphasis on the fact that this would not split the site in two, but just change the way it looks.

As far as I know this won't hurt the server, and with another one already installed or to be installed soon, this is something I'd like to see considered. Tell me what you think...

[So, the idea about GryphAffinity, FoxAffinity etc.? Well, why not choose your skin from the Control Panel or similar?]

So yay, I finally made up my mind. =) Greek letters it is! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_.....#Main_alphabet I love them. And each one means different things according to their uses in science and maths, so it could help me decide on their personalities.
