Finally got round to re-gaining access to my FA account...
Posted 8 years agoHiya!
I was afraid i was about to end up losing my FA account as i didn't even realise what had happened last year with everybody's passwords being reset due to shenanigans. Thankfully i was able to update my email with FA and successfully reset my password, so i guess i'm back...ish!
So yeah, i'll pop up from time to time with the occasional music track - mostly involving blue hedgehogs.
There's three new tracks uploaded here now, including two remakes and a Sonic Mania cover! I AM SO HYPE FOR MANIA! Roll on August 15th! I've just ordered a couple of Mania t-shirts and i have the limited edition vinyl soundtrack coming my way in September, because Tee Lopes is awesome. I have the collector's edition of the game coming my way too, so yep, i'm hugely excited for the TRUE sequel to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
For a more up to date way of keeping tabs on me, check me out on the Youtubes and the Soundclouds and the Facebooks! I might not say it a whole lot but i do appreciate any support i get, even if its a dislike with constructive criticism, so thank you!
Hopefully it won't be too long until you hear from me again, lol.
Best wishes.

Re-making old Music 3000 Tracks...
Posted 9 years agoHey. :)
So i'm going through a phase right now where i'm re-making some of my old - and some of my REALLY old - Music 3000 tracks. Most of the songs i posted up back when i joined FA 4 - 5 years ago were made waaaaaay before that when i was still getting used to the software, how it worked and also gradually teaching myself how to work around it's limitations in different ways. I've been making songs with Music 3000 since 2003.
I've made a start with my really old Launch Base Zone (Sonic 3) track, you can find the re-made version of that here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19186439/
Sorry i don't comment all that much (if at all) these days, i'm just far busier than i used to be with multiple projects.
Best wishes!

Out of the Wilderness...
Posted 10 years agoWhat's this? A new journal entry by RetroDanno? What is this sorcery!
All kidding aside i thought it was about time i wrote another journal, seeing as the last one i posted up was way back in November of 2013! What can i say? Whoops...
The thing is, i'm not convinced that many people have read my journals anyway so i guess that was another reason why i stopped doing them. I'm not having a dig, mind, just expressing some general feelings lol. I get enough positivity and feedback on my music and artwork and for that, as always, i am very thankful. :)
So what's new? I posted up a new song recently called "Blast Process". I'm aiming to use it for an upcoming video series on my Youtube channel based on the Sega Mega Drive and the collection of games i currently have for it. Let me know what you think! I'm quite pleased with it. I likes me some delicious techno.
I was also in another car accident around 10 months ago which again was not my fault. I was waiting to pull out at one of our famous British roundabouts and some jerk in a white van just slammed into the back of my poor car, which wrote it off and left me without a car for a while as i couldn't afford a new one. Thankfully though i'm back on the road now in a lovely new motor, swearing even more at tailgaters and other idiots who should not be allowed on the road! I'm basically driving a big blue swearbox on wheels now haha!
My music creation pretty much dried up around a year ago. I still want to make more but i've been struggling for motivation. I still enjoy making the Sonic/gaming covers but i want to start and be a little bit more creative when i do return to making music. So there will be more, i'm just not sure when that will be as of yet. Thanks for being patient with me though!
These days i'm enjoying making gaming videos on Youtube. I'm not shouty and i'm not the greatest talker in the world, but the main thing for me is that i enjoy doing it. I'm trying to do a bit of everything. I collect retro video games so i do the occasional lets-play, but i also like to make videos that are a bit more informative and kinda funny here and there. Some of my music can also be found and i'm hoping to incorporate some art eventually. I have a facebook group which links with the youtube channel too. I'll post up some links below. If you wish to join the facebook group, just send a request and i'll be sure to add you as soon as i can. Also any new subscribers or likes on my youtube channel would mean a lot to me and help me out. There's no obligation though of course!
I've recently joined Soundcloud too, i guess i'm just trying to widen my reach around the internets.
I can't think of anything else to say really, so i'll bid y'all adieu for now.
Many thanks!

Nintendo hits 3DS Letter Box/Swapnote with the banhammer...
Posted 12 years agoSource: nintendo.com
Notice about service for Nintendo 3DS software Swapnote
2013-10-31
Thank you for your support.
Nintendo has learned that some consumers, including minors, have been exchanging their friend codes on Internet bulletin boards and then using Swapnote (known as Nintendo Letter Box in other regions) to exchange offensive material. Nintendo has been investigating ways of preventing this and determined it is best to stop the SpotPass feature of Swapnote because it allows direct exchange of photos and was actively misused.
Nintendo always wants to provide a positive experience for all consumers and limit the risk of any inappropriate activity or misuse of a service. We feel it is important on this occasion to take this action.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience to the many consumers who have been using this service responsibly; however this decision was made considering the point that many minors also use this feature of Swapnote. Thank you for your understanding.
Nintendo will continue to work to ensure more consumers are aware of our Parental Control features, which allow parents to manage their children’s experience on our systems. For more information, please click here.
Service stop date: Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, 7 p.m. PT
Service being stopped: Nintendo 3DS software Swapnote – Sending and receiving notes using SpotPass
Affected regions: All regions where the service was offered
Special Notes services are also stopped
Thank you people, thank you very much. V_V
I appreciate Nintendo taking action against offensive material, especially involving minors, but punishing all of us? I don't know what the answer is to this and who knows, after investigation they may re-instate this service, but i actually enjoyed this feature on my 3DS so i'm rather annoyed. People just can't behave themselves can they?
It may not be a major loss for some and that's fine but the bottom line is that every Nintendo 3DS owner is losing out on a key feature on a handheld device that they have invested a lot of time and money into thanks to a bunch of assclowns who just can't help themselves and enjoy spoiling things for everybody.
So no more fun doodling/messaging between friends on 3DS, at least for now.
Fun times man, fun times.

Anybody go to London Comic Con this past weekend?...
Posted 12 years agoSo i was at London Comic Con (the MCM Expo) at the ExCel Centre this past weekend. Did anybody go? If so, i hope you had a good time! I was dressed as Raccoon Mario on Saturday, so let me know if you spotted me. I was hanging out with my mate Kirby! (squeak83 here on FA) So if you saw a giant Kirby walking around then you may have seen me too.
It was a cool weekend. My only real gripe was that one half of the building was closed off due to some filming work going on. That's all well and good but it created a huge bottleneck of people at the other side which created a crush risk. Usually both ends of the building are open. Despite that i had a good time.
I met a couple of the cast from my favourite British Sitcom, Red Dwarf. I met Hatty Hayridge, who plays the female version of the ship's computer, Holly. I also met Robert Lewellyn who plays Kryten, my favourite character! Both were very friendly and Hattie signed my Red Dwarf Series III DVD cover as well as a photo, which was cool. I had my picture taken with both (they're up on my facebook page). I also bumped into Mega G Wolf who's youtube channel i'm subscribed to. He was nice enough to have a quick chat with me about stuff and i told him to keep up the good work with his videos (he does video game related stuff of course).
As well as my signed Red Dwarf SWAG, i bought Donkey Kong Country to add to my SNES collection, 2 new USB Sega and Nintendo controllers (perfect for emulators) and a sweet Sega Megadrive leather bag! I also won a Pikmin 3 sticker at the Nintendo Unleashed booth, lol!
Speaking of which, i did get to play a few new and upcoming Nintendo games while i was there. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds seems like it's gonna be a beaut. I loved A Link To The Past on the SNES (which i do own) and this seems like it's going to be another Zelda classic. Sonic Lost World seems like a game i could get into, even though the one level demo i played was a little short. I had a go of Super Mario 3D World on the Wii-U and got to play as Cat Mario which was great! A couple of lads and myself played one of the boss levels. It felt a little awkward at first but i soon mastered the timing and direction of jumping and managed to get all three hits in on the boss (ah, smug mode!). Finally, Mariokart 8 had a playable demo, i got to play it with one of the staff members there and apart from one close race he beat me comprehensively at the other two courses we played! It was my first time playing the Wii-U so it will take some getting used to for me when i eventually get one. Mariokart 8? Gives me a reason to buy the console!
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend awesome (you know who you are!).
Moar stuff coming soon.

It's been quite a while!...
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, long time no see! ^^;
I'm sorry i haven't been around on here for the last 6 months or so. I've been concentrating on work and other projects so i thought i'd take a little hiatus for a while.
More Music 3000 tracks will start to appear fairly soon. I haven't finished anything as such but i have been working on a few songs when i had the time and/or felt like doing so.
I've been focusing mainly on my Youtube account in recent months, where i'm sharing some of my old music as well as talking about video games and life in general. If you want to see what i'm up to, you can view my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/RetroDanno
Hopefully you'll be able to stomach my fairly strong Black Country accent...
I'm also doing a ton of sorting out through all my stuff at home so that is taking up a fair amount of time too.
I'll be back soon, just don't quite know when right now, lol.
Cheers all, thanks for being patient. I hope all is well.

My Classic Games Consoles Setup...
Posted 13 years agoA short video showing all my classic games consoles set up together, plus a brief tour of a few other things in my room, which i redecorated recently. I bought a new camera yesterday so this was a good excuse to test it out.
Aplogies for my crappy voice. X_x
Random Journal/Gaming/America
Posted 13 years ago*Off to America next Saturday with
retrogirl1986 , my sister Deb and my Mom. Mom is a huge Elvis fan (we have a room in our house full of her Elvis collection ^^; ) so for the second time we're off to Memphis, TN. We'll be staying at the EP Heartbreak Hotel. I'm no Elvis fan but i'm looking forward to the trip! Had a great time last time.
*So i've only had my Nintendo 3DS for 8 months and now they've released a 3DS XL. I know it's all about making money Nintendo but if you could make the screens that big in the first place it would be great, cheers. I'm currently playing New Super Mario Bros. 2, which is great despite it's unoriginality. I also have Super Mario 3D Land, Mariokart 7, Mario Tennis Open, Sonic Generations, Starfox 64 3D and Tetris. Leave me a note if you'd like to add me as a friend and i'll give you my friend code. :)
*Car was back in the garage last week with a broken gear selector mechanism. Apparantly Vauxhall Corsas are prone to this problem because the original components were made of plastic...Tis fixed now though, i have a modified metal version installed and it works great. Try driving a car without reverse gear, 1st or 2nd and see how you get on. Believe me, it's not fun.
*London Expo coming up soon in October. Going with all the usual wonderful people who make the whole experience a great one. Yes i will be cosplaying again this year with my buddy, Squeak. Tis a secret...
*Shortly after London Expo i'm hoping to get a new computer suitable for all my gaming needs. Hopefully i'll be able to create much better quality videos for my Youtube account too.
*Is console gaming becoming a bit of a fad now? Was talking with Squeak the other day about this and we both feel that there's not much more that games consoles can do when compared with PC gaming. PC gaming offers so much more nowadays with mods and online features that it could be the case in a few years that PC's could become the more popular choice for gaming. When consoles are released the software they use is already outdated when compared with the current PC software. Should be interesting to see what happens over the next few years.
*Speaking of console gaming, my setup at home now includes pretty much every classic console i own connected to one TV. NES, Sega Master System, SNES, Sega Megadrive with 32X attached, Sega Multimega (for playing Mega CD games), Sega Saturn, N64, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube and PS2. I also have my Sega Game Gear, Nintendo Game Boy and Neo Geo Pocket Colour. Pure 90s gaming bliss. I'm so happy that my room is redecorated because i've been itching to set all of this up. :) Might put some photos up.
*I've lost over half a stone in weight (8 pounds) since July!! :w00t:
*Somebody on Youtube said that "there is no such thing as a true Sonic fan because the fanbase is too divided". Truer words have never been spoken. Sonic fans get a bad rep because they love disagreeing with one another to the point where verbal abuse comes as standard. Kinda sucks if you ask me. For example, i hate Sonic06 with a passion but i know there are some fans out there who like that game. Fair enough if you do, just because somebody likes something that you don't doesn't mean you have to take a dump on them. Just accept personal preference and live with it, as with anything else. Respecting opinion is something sorely lacking within the Sonic fanbase.
That is all for now, i hope everybody is well.
Take care.

RetroDanno Update...
Posted 13 years agoGreetings you lovely people you! How have you been?
Apologies if you were expecting more music or art from me, the last couple of months have been quite stressfull for yours truly. I've been very depressed to the point where i was letting my Dad's death dominate my daily life. I really haven't been in the mood to do a lot of the things that i usually enjoy doing. My Nan sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago too at the age of 95. God bless her she had a good innings as they say. She had been ill for a while though, so her death - while sad - was fairly expected. Her funeral is on Monday 16th July. Rest In Peace Nannah Hevican. xxx
I'm getting better now though, i've had to take care of a few personal things and get my life going again. I haven't been able to do any new music tracks because most of my stuff is packed away until next week due to my bedroom being completely re-decorated. So i've been spending time doing some more videos on my recently-created Youtube channel, so be sure to give them a shot. Currently i'm uploading videos of my Music 3000 tracks and playthroughs of my Sega Megadrive collection. I've just completed a playthrough of Streets Of Rage 2. I also commentate and talk about games while i play. I'm not much of a talker and i hate my West Midlands accent but meh, doing these videos is good mental stimulation for me and keeps me going. :) I'm recording my experiences playing the games in my collection rather than trying to complete them, as i have games in my collection i haven't actually played at all yet! I currently own around 80 SMD games plus other stuff like accessories, other console variations and posters etc.
Is there a track from one of the classic Sonic games you'd like me to attempt that i haven't done yet? Let me know if you have a 16-Bit Sonic request. I enjoy making those bad boys.
I'll be back soon, thanks for visiting!

Dan down the Van...
Posted 13 years agoHey guys.
I'm currently down Newquay (Cornwall) staying at our new 8-berth caravan (or mobile home if you prefer). I'm using the park's free wi-fi to access the i-net right now. Making good use of a week's holiday from work, which i really needed because i'm really tired and have been for a while.
Its only thanks to my late Dad, Steve, that we were able to buy this awesome caravan. It has everything you need, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully fitted etc. Because he signed certain documents at the place where he worked, we inherited a lot of money so we decided this was one of the ways we wanted to invest it. He would have loved it here and we've made sure his name is remembered.
I've been pretty depressed to tell you the truth, i really miss him and things are not the same. I can't even check a football score without welling up anymore. Football was our main bond.
We've got a bunch of free stuff like vouchers which we're currently making the most of. Today is a free giant pitcher of blackcurrant-soaked beer, tomorrow will be free fish and chips!
Mmmmmmmm...
Cheers Dad, God bless you and thank you. The only thing missing this week (and every week) is you.
More from me soon, sorry about the lack of posts. Just been feeling down.

RetroDanno on Youtube...
Posted 13 years agoI'm still setting up my new Youtube Channel, but for anybody who is remotely interested in watching me fail at video games while listening to my Music 3000 themes that relates to them, you can find me here: http://www.youtube.com/user/RetroDanno
I might do other stuff eventually though, like game reviews and stuff if i'm feeling confident enough.
Hey i'm a poet and i don't know it! XP
Looks like i've got to make my own decision on the music software i'm going to buy as i had zero feedback on my last journal. Oh well.

Need some advice on Music Software in general/America Trip..
Posted 13 years agoHey guys.
I'm looking to purchase some new music software (and possibly a new computer capable of running it) in the coming months.
Just wanted to ask for some advice on which software to choose. Whatever i do end up buying i'll have to learn how to use from scratch but that's ok. The only software i really know anything about (albeit very little) is FL Studio 10 and i've had a little play around with the demo.
I really want to step-up from Music 3000 (which i realise to some people that isn't hard to do XP) and get to grips with something that can produce really good quality, realistic sound. I'm confident that with some practice i could put my skills to better use with better software. I know that i should be prepared to pay decent money too, but that's ok.
Any advice would be great because i admit i'm a bit of a n00b on this subject, so thank you.
In other news, i'll be visiting America at the beginning of September. Being the die-hard Elvis Presley fan that she is, my Mom wants to go back to Memphis, TN to visit Graceland and all the usual Elvis-related places such as his birthplace in Tupelo and Sun Studios. I've been once before but that was 10 years ago with a tour company that rushed our jet-lagged asses around too quickly, hopefully this time we can do things at our own pace as we're going under our own steam. It will be a bit emotional because my Dad was with us last time but for me it will be a good way of remembering him. This time i'm going with my Mom, my sister Deb and my beloved girlfriend, Lindsey (
retrogirl1986 ).
Can't wait! I'm no Elvis fan but i respect what the guy did for music. I enjoyed the food and the hospitality last time around too, so should be great!
See you in September USA!

Expect more drawing...
Posted 14 years agoThink i'm gonna have a break from making music for a short while and do some artwork instead. I hate it though when i get out my paper and a pencil all ready and enthusiastic, only for my mind to go completely blank for ideas. Maybe i should keep it simple for now and just draw a few characters like i used to instead of worrying about backgrounds for the time being i dunno...
Thanks to everyone who sent me their condolonces and birthday wishes in December. My birthday was the day after my Dad's funeral so it kind of passed me by without much fanfare (which is how i like it anyway). The church originally wanted his funeral to be ON the same day as my birthday but my Mom put a stop to that, for which i'm grateful. Getting back to some normality now but of course it's still hard and i have good days and bad days.
At least my beloved Liverpool FC cheered me up this week with back to back wins over both Manchester clubs! >:-D
I now have a Nintendo 3DS with four games; Sonic Generations (of course!), Super Mario 3D Land, Mariokart 7 and Tetris. I like it very much, although i can't keep the 3D on for too long no matter how i adjust it. Friend codes are welcome if anybody else out there has one. :)

God Bless you Dad, Rest In Peace...
Posted 14 years agoMy Dad, Steve, passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning at 7am.
Even though i knew this was going to happen soon, i feel so numb and empty right now i can't stand it. I take comfort in the fact that he died peacefully and that the endless suffering he was going through has ended. But he didn't deserve to die, not yet and not the way he did and that breaks my heart.
He is a free man now.
Steve, God bless your soul. You were my best mate, my confidant and the best father-figure a person could ever have. Even if not by blood, i am still proud to be your son and i always will be. Your courage and strength will inspire me for years to come.
God bless you Boss, i miss you, i love you and i'll never forget you. Rest In Peace now, you deserve it. x x
From your son, Danny.

Sonic Generations for Eight Solid Hours...
Posted 14 years ago...Eight solid hours of absolute joy. :)
Sonic Generations was released in the UK and Europe today, i finally had my pre-ordered copy home by 4pm and have played it solidly for eight hours. For me to play a new game for that long, it HAS to be good.
I'll write up a review tomorrow sometime. I've finished the story mode (took me four to six hours) but there's an absolute megaton of challenges to unlock as both Sonics, so there's bags of replay value.
What i will say is that as a Sonic fan who has been there since the beginning, this is the best Sonic game since the Megadrive era and i am not bullshitting. Sure, there's a couple of things i don't like about it but they really are tiny things really. Even the presence of the unholy Omochao hasn't spoilt by enjoyment as much as i thought he would.
Keep this sort of thing up Sonic Team, please keep it up!
Review tomorrow, time for bed.

Recording Issues...
Posted 14 years agoI've noticed that in the last few songs i've submitted the recording sounds off.
There's a high pitched "eeeeeeeeeeee" sound coming from one of the channels and this morning the problem has got worse. I'm getting just the "eeeeeeeeeeee" sound in one channel and the actual song i'm trying to record in the other (2 channels = stereo sound).
I'm trying to fix it but i'm a bit stumped. As i'm recording from my TV to my computer, the sound records fine on a normal TV Channel but when i switch to one of the AV Channels on my computer (for my PS2) it goes back to recording half song, half "eeeeeeeee".
Hopefully i can fix this. I've had another look at that Sonic Boom track i submitted yesterday and there's a few things i want to change so i can re-submit it.

Car Battery Deaded...
Posted 14 years agoI guess i tempted fate praising my new car so much last week. Tried to drive it to work early this morning and the battery died. :S
Can't get it fixed til Monday, but at least the place where i bought it from said they would fit me a new battery. Just gotta get the damn thing there...
Back to the buses tomorrow then...
Random typing - "eilrhfbeihjvbeiwhjafvisdjanfvoroviqeroioqrni oeneo enroenr ojnweofkjndskanvckls?!!"
Thats how i currently feel! :D
2011 has probably been my unluckiest year as a being on Planet Earth.

New Car/Steve Jobs/WWE Storylines...
Posted 14 years agoApart from the driveway stupidity that i talked about last time, i am really enjoying having my own car again and in the past week i have owned it i have driven about in my little Corsa quite a lot. I was adamant that i wanted a diesel engine in my next car because it's much cheaper to run as i'm finding out. My girlfriend Lindsey found out that i can actually fold the back seats down too, so when we cart all of our cosplay gear down to London for the Expo in a couple of weeks' time this will be invaluable! :)
I don't wish to tempt fate, but my new car is much better than my previous one. For a start, everything works on it (touch wood)! It's so much easier to drive too, i just hope i can keep this car a heck of a lot longer than my last one.
It is also the colour Silver, but i will not be naming it Silver after the Sonic character who appeared in...*shudder* THAT game...from 2006...¬_¬;
I just found out about Steve Jobs. I can't admit to using Apple products too much during my life apart from at college where AppleMac computers were the machines of choice for our studies. However for what it's worth, i would like to send my condolences to his family. The man was a genius and i'm sure he'll be missed. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.
WWE Raw was certainly interesting this week. Every wrestler (sorry, 'WWE Superstar'), diva, announcer, cameraman and pretty much every other man and his dog walked out on WWE Chief Operating Officer, Triple H. He was given a vote of No Confidence by everybody due to unsafe working conditions etc (basically, The Miz and R-Truth got fired but kept showing up in protest to kick the shit out of everybody...wow...). It certainly looked realistic enough for a storyline. One thing WWE has been doing better this year in this fan's opinion is breaking the fourth wall. You know it's all scripted but at the same time the drama that has been unfolding since CM Punk's awesomeness was finally unleashed a few months back has been compelling enough to keep me interested.
My guess is that John Laurinitis - no wait - The Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinitis (every time he appears on camera he has to mention his full job title, what an arse!) is the one trying to sabotage HHH's job as COO, that much is obvious. I don't think he's working alone though. The obvious choice as JLEVPTR's accomplace would be Kevin Nash, whom Trips fired for insobordination recently (not that Nash really did all that much anyway lol). Who else could it be? Vince McMahon, whom Triple H relieved of his duties as WWE Chairman. He could be out for revenge. CM Punk could be playing everybody for a fool as he has never gotten along with Tripper. While that would be an interesting twist, i doubt it's him as it must be somebody with more power behind the scenes. Shawn Michaels? Could he be out to sabotage his old DX buddy's job? "WHAT?!" I hear you scream, but it could be possible. HBK recently interuppted a commercial starring HHH stating that he wasn't happy with what happened to Nash and that HHH "would see him soon". Could the anonimous Raw GM (who has been very quiet just lately) reveal himself?
Those are my suggestions anyway, any WWE fans have any ideas on this?
Assuming i get any "wrestling is fake" comments, get over it and tell me something i don't already know. XP

Driveway Drama AIACB...
Posted 14 years ago"AIACB" stands for "Apparantly I'm A Cheeky Bastard". ™
Got my new car on Monday and i'm enjoying driving again (touch wood). When i had my previous car, my girlfriend's next door neighbours allowed me use of their driveway as her own driveway is used by her dad. I used to park on the wide pavement outside the house, but as my last car got vandalised one night earlier in the year i asked her neighbours if i could park on their drive, which they said was fine. I even told them i would move my car at any time if they needed to use their drive for any reason.
"Of course you can!" They said...
So all was fine and dandy until about an hour ago...
I parked on their driveway last night like i did with my previous car, thinking that it was ok, then about an hour ago one of said next door neighbours approached me and asked if that was my car on their driveway last night? "Yeah, i got a new one finally!" i replied, thinking they were making conversation with me about it, "Well do you mind asking if you can park on it next time?" came the reply.
Um, what happened to the nice people who gave me permission when i DID ask before?
"Uh, ok...sorry." i said.
"Thank you." (insert frowny face here)
Maybe i should have warned them that i'd got a new car beforehand, i dunno, but i'm a bit miffed. Apparantly asking permission makes me a cheeky bastard. They're a weird bunch next door though, they're like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde i guess. We don't complain when they make a shit load of noise outside after 10pm but, meh. Fine, keep your precious driveway that barely even sees the wheels of a car, yeah, they don't even have a car which makes it even more stupid, unless they have a phobia against Vauxhall Corsas with diesel engines. Guess i'll be parking back on the pavement then! I won't ask them again if that's how it's going to be.
I wouldn't care but i have trouble parking on my OWN driveway back home! My next door neighbour back home shares a driveway with our house, yet, every time i park on it she wants to go out somewhere straight away. So i have to get back in the car and move out so she can move her car out. Five minutes later she's back and now i'm blocked in. She just HAS to have her car on the end of the drive so she can drive off whenever she wants to, me? I have to go knock her damn door. She tells me "whenever you want to move just come and ask!" Then when i do she moans that she was about to have her dinner or watch Emmerdale or some bollocks. She must be paranoid that i'm not gonna let her pull her car out or something i dunno, she's another weirdo.
Funny how she never has to go anywhere when i DON'T park on the drive isn't it? I refuse to put up with it much longer anyway. My mom already hates her for other reasons, mainly involving having to give her dog up (long story but said next door neighbour is the main reason why that happened). I sense a showdown sometime soon, because i really want to hear from her own mouth why she always has to go out somewhere immediately after i park my car on the driveway.
I don't get people...people annoy me. It's funny that at both my own house and my girlfriend's house, on one side the next door neighbours are great, the other side they're jackasses. Why do people have to be so damn trivial about every little thing? All it does is it makes me write annoying rant-journals about it!
ROAR! I shall be the driveway king someday i tells ya!
More music soon, have been working on a few things. I haven't forgotten about those WWE themes people are asking me for either, you're just gonna have to be patient! ;)
Teh Retrodriveway...uh, i mean danno. ;S

I Just Feel Like Writing, So I'm Gonna Write The Night Away!
Posted 14 years agoI'm amazed at my gallery stats to be honest! Don't get me wrong, i don't take myself too seriously, i'm just amazed that certain songs i've made that i can't stand seem to be the most popular with you wonderful people. The wrestling songs in particular - wow, the responses i've been getting for those have been great, yet i think they're terrible! XD
Those of you that liked those songs will be pleased to know that i've found another memory card with a bunch of other wrestling themes (including Bret Hart and Undertaker) on it, so watch this space in the coming week. I'm keeping them in my scraps though because i only made them for shits and giggles on many a rainy day - and trust me when i say that i live in England and England gets a lot of rainy days...
I'd be grateful if some of my earlier submissions got some attention. Would like some feedback on what's good or bad etc. I always welcome critiques as long as they don't personally attack me!
QUESTION: I want to make another song but i want somebody to choose what i make from the following options;
1) Another Sonic Song?
2) A Remix?
3) Something Original?
4) A version of the Angry Video Game Nerd's theme song?
Somebody pick one, i can't decide. Cheers!
A bit of good news for a change, i'll have a new car on Monday and i can't fooking wait. Buses? Trains? Taxis? My arse! I also managed to keep my job, which i nearly lost as my store closed down back on 20th August. Luckily i got a transfer to another store nearby which had a couple of vacancies. I'd like to get out of retail at some point though, but it'll do for now as my Dad's illness is making me reluctant to commit to something better.
I hate to say it but i can't see my Dad surviving beyond Christmas. If he does, he does. I just feel he is suffering too much now and his mental state is deteriorating at a rapid rate. It's so bad now that he's turning on everybody, including me and it's really tough to take. I understand that it's all part of his illness and he can't help it. He's become a paranoid, nasty, frightened, fragile shell of the man he was three years ago and i hate it, i really do.
It sucks. If God does exist then i wish he would put his poor soul out of it's misery. He's suffered enough and we've suffered with him.
London Expo next month. Looking forward to that. Haven't had the time to focus on a new cosplay outfit so i'm tweaking last year's Mario effort - with the help of me old mate Neil (aka: Squeak83 ). I hope the FWA (Frontier Wrestling Alliance) returns, i got a kick out of that last year. Will try and take many photos and will upload them when it's all over. How fast has this year gone? Geez...
The day after Expo, SONIC GENERATIONS arrives! 8-D I quite like the look of the 3DS version, Mushroom Hill looks awesome, as does Chemical Plant on the console versions.
I've redesigned my Sonic fursona character so expect a picture soon.
Can't be arsed to write anymore now, lol. But i will say that if i'm not around much at the moment it's down to family or personal issues.
Lovin' the music some of you guys i'm watching have done recently, superb. Keep up the awesome sauce.
All the best.

Hellfire and Brimstone, I Predict a Riot!...
Posted 14 years agoVIRGIN MEDIA - I THANK YOU!
Well after about 3 months, my home internet connection has FINALLY been restored and 'touch wood' it's working better than ever. Thank you Virgin Media for fixing a problem with our telephone line within five days, a problem i always knew was there, a problem that i have been trying to convince AOL about since JANUARY when our connection started getting slower and slower until it went off completely by the end of May.
Seriously though, if you're in the UK i couldn't recommend Virgin Media enough for internet right now. AOL have been no help whatsoever over the past 8 months and i got sick of phoning them with different problems. They even had the cheek to suggest that we should stop calling them and instead get in touch with the companies that manufacture both my PC and my mom's laptop! It just didn't matter how many times (and i'm no expert) i tried to explain AOL that maybe they should test our phone line, they just were not interested.
Well congratulations AOL on successfully completing the "How to Alienate and Lose your Customers" module. Goodbye and good riddance.
RIOTS IN THE UK
Pointless, ridiculous and stupid, but i wouldn't expect anything less of the people of this country - and yes i said that (i can coz i'm British). Because Birmingham decided to copy London as an excuse to steal a few HDTVs from Maplins i decided not to travel there tonight like i normally do. I was on the street that got the most damage the night before it all kicked off and couldn't believe what i was seeing on the news last night.
It'll probably all kick off again tonight, so i'm not taking any chances travelling through Birmingham City Centre, thank you very much. I'd just like to personally thank all the pea-brained thugs for helping me get half a day off work tomorrow. :)
In all seriousness i hope nobody gets hurt.
AND FINALLY...
The situation with my Dad is getting increasingly desperate. I'll talk about that another time though. Also forget anything i've mentioned before about me working on various projects. I'll probably still carry on that Sonic Comic i've started at some point, but anythig else, meh. I just don't have the time right now to commit to anything.
Basically, from now on i'm just going to draw when i feel like it and make music when i feel like it. Random and free is best for me (IT RHYMES!).
Time for me to speed, keeds!

My Dad ok for now PLUS Random Rants...
Posted 14 years agoSorry guys, will respond to comments and stuff soon. Anybody who read my last journal will know that i've had a busy week. Turned out that my Dad had another bleed on the brain, which had something to do with the amount of steroids he has to take being reduced far too quickly, or something like that. He spent a couple of days in hospital and underwent some tests but nothing else to report thankfully. Visiting him is difficult at the moment because mentally he's the most depressed man i've ever seen. It can be even worse at times because he takes out his frustrations on the wrong people. His memory seems to be slipping slowly but surely, at least thats what i can see. He told me the other day that he just wants his "old life back", but when a doctor tells you that you may never walk again its understandable that he feels so damn depressed.
I feel so damn helpless too.
Why may he never walk again? Because a doctor didn't bother to check whether or not he had DVTs (blood clots) in his legs or not. I'm not going to get on my high-horse about the NHS (even though it's a pile of steaming excrement) but when somebody's legs are turning blue and swelling up to the point that even the swelling is swelling up, surely that's not right?...
Yeah, i was being a tad sarcastic there, but sarcasm can be good for making a point. It's also a good way for me to let off some steam when life is doing nothing but kicking me and my family in the nuts.
Thanks to everybody who commented and showed their support though. It's nice to know that not everybody in life is an asshole.
RETRODANNO'S RANDOM RANTS AND THOUGHTS AT THE MOMENT.
(Its not all doom and gloom but i might swear a bit, just to warn you)
Just watched the second episode of the new series of Top Gear. Surprise, surprise that Captain Slow and Hamster aren't making any jokes or remarks about their co-presenter's infidelity... Enjoyed the part where they raced around the Monaco GP Circuit. I'm an on-and-off F1 fan and Monaco was always my favourite track.
I thought my beloved Xbox 360 had bitten the dust yesterday. I got the infamously dreaded 'red rings of eternal doom'. Thankfully though, the red rings appeared and shut down my console because i had accidentally dislodged the plug from the mains socket. I guess it was a sort of 'holy shite i'm not plugged in properly so i'd better shut down just incase i cause an electric shock and the world ends and restarts with a race of half-robotic-half squirrel species that will make us all gather nuts and eat them until we all explode' kind of thing...
If i read the words "Arsenal FC", "Cesc Fabregas", "Transfer" and "Barcelona" in tomorrow's Daily Mirror Sport pages i will rip out the page and use it as toilet paper. ENOUGH! I GET IT! JUST GO TO BARCELONA ALREADY! I'm so SICK of this story that i actually find reading about Wayne Rooney's hair transplant more appealing! I think he should grow an afro, at least then it'll look like he has a brain in that jug-eared bonce of his...
Some people think i'm boring, so i joined Twitter. After joining Twitter i realised that i was actually quite interesting compared to some people.
"I have just made myself a sandwich! 8-D " Have you really? Well then, perhaps you should eat that sandwich because while you are telling us all about you food-related handywork your sandwich is being devoured by a swarm of hungry flies. Either that or the dog ate it...
"The dog just ate my sandwich! >8-( " See? I told you! Now then, have you learned your lesson?
"I have just made another sandwich! <8-3 " I guess not...
I like writing sentences and ending them dot-dot-dot...
My beloved girlfriend jokes that i write more journals that i do any actual artwork. I liked English during my school years, especially when we could do some creative writing. I guess i just like to show that side of myself. At least it's different to drawing Mr. Needlemouse all the time right? Any haters in the house?
I work as a baker in a supermarket. Why is it that when i order 2 boxes of Parisiens (large baguettes), a box of white crusty bread rolls and some chocolate muffins, the depot sends me a box of jam doughnuts, some white finger rolls (hot dog rolls) and 2 boxes of wholemeal baps?! DOES NOT COMPUTE...
I want to break-out my cheap Mariokart scalextric and build one of the N64 circuits, including all the scenery and stuff. I R NERD.
Would take a while to do, but the results could be awesome. Or i could just play Mariookart 64 dot-dot-dot.
Duke Nukem Forever disappointed me. I haven't completed it yet, because i feel more compelled to play other games. As much as i enjoyed those 'funny playing tips loading screens' at first, i then got sick of reading them, because every time you die (and it will happen a lot) you have to sit and wait for an ice-age before you restart playing again. The overly-long development time mixed with 3DRealms going bust has really affected the quality of what should have been an awesome game. It just reeks of "ok, we've been developing this game long enough, lets just finish it quickly and hope for the best".
My current favourite website is: www.dorkly.com. Every time i watch "Ecco's friends are stupid dolphins" i crack up. The 'Sonic for Hire' series is also very funny, particularly that episode where Kirby gets Sonic to murder one of the happy-go-lucky Dreamland natives.
Anyhoo, off to the chippy for more healthy food. I just hope the chips i have today are better than the 'very old potatoes-tasting' ones i had last week...

My Dad back in Hospital...
Posted 14 years agoThose of you who know me well enough know about my Step-Dad, Steve, who has a terminal illness due to a brain tumor and blood clots.
Unfortunately, he was back in hospital today in severe pain, particularly in his head and his back. He hasn't been himself for a few days and we were half-expecting this. He's having X-Rays and other tests at the moment so i'll keep you all informed.
In the meantime, thanks for the support. I truly appreciate it and to be quite frank, i could really do with it right now.
If i'm not on here much at the moment, now you know why.
Cheers.
