So I have been unemployed since 2023 with only a few jobs in-between. I am still looking for work so I can earn some money, but life in the software industry has been quite tough to get back into. I have been applying for hundreds of job but I haven't really been having much luck that endeavor. While I had several interviews none of those has actually translated into a long term job position. So I have been working on taking some online courses to get certificates to improve my chances of getting a job offer. In the meantime for fun I have been mainly focused on playing Niche, or Palworld. I have also been working on building up my java skills by designing a couple of games, so far I am working on a platformer style game after finishing up a tower defense game. I might not be as experienced in this area as most of you furries are, but its a learning experience for me. My web coding projects are currently on hold at the moment as I really want to understand the java language well enough that I could utilize it to make some web based games. I have also been working on writing a couple of different stories just for fun.

Discord has been my main way of communicating with my friends from FA and I really need to get back to using this website a bit more. While the games I have been building have mainly been tutorial games, I really need to eventually start back on my own projects. The great difficulty for me is that I am not the greatest composer, artist, level designer or coder, but still I would like to create my own game that I can call my own. I have been learning quite a lot from the Kaarin Gaming's java tutorial series, he is a very good instructor and its very easy to learn how to create a video game from watching his tutorials. I am having fun building up these simple games as it allows me to see how video games are built from the ground up. Maybe I could post some screenshots in the future of any games that I am working. It would give me an idea of how much progress I have made on my games. At some point in time I should try to get back to drawing artwork and writing stories. Still I am happy to have finished the tower defense game tutorial in java as that gives me insight into many core components of a tower defense game work along with a functional map editor. The next java tutorial that I am working on is a simple java platformer game.

I have been experimenting with creating my own youtube videos through the game Transformice. While I have created videos in the past focused on Megaman and Minecraft, they have been kind of lacking in consistency and I didn't really have a good grasp of how loud the game music should be. I also was not used to talking on microphone and sometimes I just didn't know what to talk about. I added some music to my videos to give them some personality though it was mainly used with early minecraft which featured no music at all. The channel icon was not in the same location and sometimes the size of the icon changed. I have noticed that other games require the avatar to move around to different locations based on the games themselves. While my later videos did utilize several different scenes to give the videos some styles, it was still pretty experimental. While I did like some of the scenes that I created in those later videos, I had to rebuild everything from the ground up when I moved to a new computer. Still those old scenes did serve as inspiration for creating the new ones. Now my video scenes are much more structured with the use of folder groups that allow me to separate the different scenes from one another. I now have a sidebar where my channel avatar sits which is now consistent across all my videos with room for additional links or chat. My videos now utilize a loading screen, gameplay screen, thank you screen and a video screen. I can leave the loading screen off if I feel that I am making too many mistakes to keep creating it or I want to save on time. In addition to this I can also toggle the microphone on and off for my videos if I need time to concentrate on a really difficult section or if I want to create a video without commentary enabled.

While I have always had some form of a thumbnail on my videos, I have recently started to utilize video titles on the thumbnails. I am now editing my videos prior to posting them so that I can add the loading screen to a video that is missing it or to add an outro screen. Still I am pretty happy with the new system that I have now. So that is all I have to say for now.

Duelingpets is currently undergoing heavy code revision and so there is a lot of bugs. Current work is being setting up the Traitmap section under the creature section.

I hope you do return again someday Purochu, Ricky and I will miss you though. I know you will return again some day. I just wanted to say thank you for all the fun times we had together. :)

So I just got the second shot of the covid vaccine so that means I can move about a bit more.
So far I haven't had any side effects to the vaccine.
I am just happy to be vaccinated.

History:
Pen the grey koala had been living in the tall forest trees on his own for three years now. He also had green eyes. After Pen's mother passed away when he was fours old, his life took a bit of a turn for the worst. He was constantly bullied by the other koalas up to the age of 7 when he decided to venture away from his own colony. He took a small woven leafy blanket that he wears as a bit of a cape and a diaper that he wears on his bottom.

He chose to wear those garments as he felt they brought him closer to his mom, when he fell asleep. Yet during the time he was with his colony, he always wondered what it be like to be dressed as a girl. He was quite nervous and never thought to ask the girls of his colony about that. He was kind of scared that they make fun of him the same way most of the boys made fun of him for wearing a diaper.

In the wild:
Pen is kind of nervous about making friends as he is worried the new ones might bully him kind of like the old ones. Yet sometime while he was out in the woods on his own, he met a strange and frightening creature. She was quite strange for she was composed of many different animals. She was part rabbit, part bat, part owl, part fox, and part rat. She looked out at him with her purple eyes.

Pen decided to battle this scary creature as the forest had taught him to be constantly on his toes. The creature giggled at him as he tried to throw a few claw swipes at her. The creature who was named Cauldron giggled at his little antics before returning a few swipes of her own back. The battle dragged on for a good 30 minutes. She knew he was not very skilled and after a time she pinned him to the ground. He had managed to give her a few scratches but nothing too drastic.

"You know for a creature of your size you really open up yourself too much." Cauldron spoke up. "Your not ready to battle others just yet. You need a lot more training if you are to survive on your own."

"Let me go. I know how to survive on the forest on my own." Pen struggled against her.
"I don't think so, plus if I had been a real predator you would be in my tummy right now." Cauldron replied. "Not to mention your diaper says otherwise."

Pen blushed at that remark and let Cauldron change him. When he was fully changed she let him up and he asked. "Who are you? What are you?"
"I am Cauldron the Closest Monster." Cauldron replied. "Who are you little koala?"
"I am Pen, and I am not really all that little I am 10." Pen replied.
Cauldron giggled at this. "Hehehe a 10 year old Koala who still wears his diappy. I thought I was the oldest one, but I am only 4."

"Wait if your only 4 then how were able to beat me?" Pen asked
"Simple really us closest monsters live quite a long life. I been around for about 12 years or so, however my body never aged because I grew up at a time when kids were no longer afraid of closest monsters. So I had to find adults to scare, so we would create miniature wars, news reports, basically anything we could do to frighten the adults. Sadly eating adults fears is not as much fun as that of young kids. Not as nutritious." Cauldron replied. "As such my body stopped growing at age 4 along with almost everything else. The only thing I managed to hold on to was my wisdom of things learned."

"Sounds not like a whole bunch of fun though." Pen replied. "Wait does that mean you would eat my fears?"
"You are about the right age for it, but don't worry it won't hurt much. I built a device that allowed me to travel back in time, to a more natural time. Yours in particular. Sadly a lot of my kind has died out and so there is not many of us left." Cauldron replied sadly. "Anyways lets find some shelter and we can discuss things in more detail."

Present time:

Pen the Koala and Cauldron journey together across the forest floor.
"Lets see if we find you some nice tasty leaves and vines to munch on Pen." Cauldron spoke.
"Why here? Why not the place with the warm snugly forest log." Pen asked as he looked around.
"Its a bit more secluded spot of the forest, plus there is a lake nearby for fish." Cauldron replied.

Duelingpets Iteration 4 was kind of a major update and the final features that will be added to the website for 1.0. It added a total of 19 new features to the existing ones that already exist on the website. Accounttype was removed in this version as the website has now moved to one account per user for balancing reasons. Blogviewers has gotten renamed to gviewers to support several different tables such as galleries, channels, jukeboxes, and books. In this version it is now possible for pets to battle monsters as the functionality was not there in previous versions. The fight table keeps track of the pets battle results against monsters. Monster is an evil creature that a pet must battle to gain exp, levels, and dreyore. Dreyore is used to create pets and items or be refined for points.

Elements are various energies such as water, grass, and fire that can be applied to a pet and monster to make the battles more dynamic. Tag allows user to tag their content to let the user know what the image, audio or video contains. It can be applied to arts, movies, chapter, sounds and ocs.

The warehouse allows users the ability to purchase items, and pets from its shelves and petdens. All the points that earned from the warehouse can be transferred back to the dragonhoard and vice versa. The dragonhoard can then purchase items and pets from the users, to store in the warehouse. Blogreplies a new feature allows blog owners to now have comments applied directly to their blog rather then through shouts.

Faqs provides advice on how to build certain website features if the user needs help with them. Suggestion allows the user to suggest new features to the Duelingpets staff as well as to report any bugs they may find navigating the website.

Now that this is done, work for Duelingpets RC 1 can now be started which will mark the first test version for betatesting. There will probably be some bugs that will be floating around that I was unable to find on my own. I hope to keep this RC up for about 1 to 2 months for other users to test. So things are looking pretty good for the site and eventually this will transition to Duelingpets 1.0 version the website.

Its seem that lately in the furry community there has been a lot of people running around with the idea that they need to block user's who like x or y or everything in general. The problem with gate keeping is that it kind of runs down everyone's motivation to do things be it artwork, stories or other things. I may not agree with all the other artists styles or kinks, and I let them create what they wish. The reason being is I respect them and its important for each of us to allow the users to grow as they wish. Some users like inflation, vore, feeding, etc. When we try to establish fetish free zones by gate keeping we kind of do a disservice to the rest of the fandom as a whole.

Your basically saying that your are only allowed to do no kinks and that user x is going to force that restriction on everyone which is not okay. Now if you said I am not going to draw kink related material on my own profile or favorite artwork that is okay and is perfectly fine. When you look at other people's galleries and favorites and block them because they like x and y that is not okay. Some of us are generalist who like a variety of different things be it kink or no kinks. Some of us don't put kink material in our own galleries because we prefer not to draw it on our own. That doesn't mean that we won't favorite other people's art because of that restriction.

Its more important we accept each other's kinks no matter crazy or silly we think they are. At the end of the day you be you. I choose not to block users in general because I feel it is wrong, but you do you and that is okay. My take on blocks is they are just petty in my opinion. Here is the other problem when you are feeling down and you have done this blocking nonsense you turn a lot of people away that may have helped you.

Stuff like this in the example is gate keeping:
"This is a fetish-free zone. Why? Because it's just not okay, ya hear?! To those types of users: You may interact, but don't expect me to be nice to you! You've only yourself to blame if you're insulted, as there will be no holding back about that from me!"

I can't really say much more on this subject but it annoys me a bit. There is such a thing as being too restrictive.
I try to avoid doing rants as they tend to drag everyone down at times, but I just needed to vent a little.
I just can't use words like the quoted ones above on my own profile because I want to be open to just about everyone. If you use words like this on your profile this makes me not want to help you. I am usually pretty patient and understanding of people but when you do stuff like this your most likely going to be on your own. By not being nice to people in the quotes your also setting up yourself for people to not be nice to you back.

Golden rule:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I am choosing to forgive this person because it is the right thing to do.
I am not upset with them because I said my piece and I am done with it.
The moral of the story is that we need to be more understanding of everyone around us.

So I just recently added a video section to my website along with a book section. The video section will allow users of my site to watch and upload videos. Its a bit simplistic but works pretty well. The book section allows users to create stories. I am very happy to have gotten these two features setup. :)

After Pen's mother passed away when he was at the age of four, the life for the young koala fell into a bit of a downspiral. He was abused by bullies and some of his closest friends had turned on him. He ran into the forest to be alone despite the dangers that lurked there and it is there he kind of changed. He looked back at the memories of his mother for some inspiration. Its there he created a leafy blanket that he still carries with him at the age 10 along with a diaper. Though he doesn't need it, he wears it for comfort to help wash away all the painful memories of his youth. He is still young, but found some ways to survive on his own.

He is afraid of making friends cause he is worried that they might turn on him, sometimes he shivers uncontrollably. At times he wishes that the times could have been different and that he had a bit more time to be young. He still has quite a bit of fear in him that drives him and is worried that they might find him again. They drove him to the lowest he could be and in the end he wound up being broken.

So far I have added a new recovery method in case the user can't access their original email for password recovery.
Also I just started the first portion of making my site mobile friendly.
Currently I am working on the main layout pages and not the individual pages yet.
Its still needs a bit of testing to verify if it works for cellphones.

Moonlight is a red furred bat who got his powers from eating some ice fruit. It is unknown how he got them, whether it was from him wandering out on his own accord or someone bringing the berries in for some research. When he ate the berries his wings and feet took on an icy blue color. Now that he is two months old he stands out quite a bit from the rest of the colony. Sometimes when he sneezes he lets out little puffs of snow from his nose causing some of the other newborn bats to jump back. Sometimes he is mocked by the others for his strange look or feared but still he finds others who do look out for him. His Mother Sera wonders if she will ever see Renaldo the bat again, for he knows quite a bit more about his son's condition then he let on.

Moonlight enjoys playing and tends to be a bit silly, sometimes he has been seen carrying a small stick in his mouth thinking that he is some kind of dog. Moonlight lives in a tree and doesn't really have anything with him that could be consider toys since he tends to live out in the wild. At times he is bit naïve and tends to get himself into a bit of trouble from time to time as he sometimes is a bit too trusting for his own good. Like any young child he is kind of afraid of ghosts. Moonlight enjoys a good cuddle and the occasional tummy rub as he tends to be a bit on the ticklish side.

One of the things I like to do is create a new video game based off action 52. If I could assemble a team of programmers, artist this would be one of my dream games. Win, lose or draw I feel that its an undertaking that I need to do. If there is anyone who is interested in helping me with this project please let me know. It won't be a project that I will start right away but something I might start in the future. This would be a full blown sequel that might become its very own game.

Well guys and gals due to me upgrading to a new linux version it wound up updating my rails version making Duelingpets inopperable with Rails 3.2. So I have to rewrite everything in Rails 5.2, lucky for me this was close to the end cycle. So guys you will be getting a newer version sooner than later. I was planning on building one after the first beta was finished but now I have no options.

So yeah this might take a bit longer than expected and I was so looking forward to the dragonhoard being completed and viewable. No such luck there. Yet no big deal there as I was not really finished with it just yet.
Good news most of the code is stored in git thank goodness, so I can simply copy and paste most things.

Since my site is nearly ready I have decided to open up my site to Beta Users. To keep things organized I have decided to open up 12 slots. These slots will be first come first serve, with potential for more slots to open up in the future. The site is a virtual pet site called Duelingpets and being the first Beta there will be a small portion of core features available at this time.

The available features are Videos, Music, and Artwork along with the Forum. On top of that we also have a couple of supporting features called Donations, Colorschemes, Private Messaging, and Blogs. Users can fave, star, and comment on the various content of the site. The Duelingpets site utilizes a variety of different symbols such as ~, ^, and ! which identify specific user privileges some will be a bit familiar others a bit different. Duelingpets features a semi-open registration system for new users coming into the site itself.

When a user registers for the first time they are not given a full user account but one that gets changed into one later. Approving and Denying registrations is a manual operation performed by me and the key masters of the site itself to make certain no bots get into the site while assuring that legimate human users are granted access to the site. If we notice that your account is not a bot you will have your account upgraded to an actual user account. This process will take up to 3 days at the latest to determine if the account in question is actually valid. Once you got a user account I will have to make certain that I change the privilege level of your account to beta otherwise you won't be allowed in.

You may encounter a couple of bugs while using the site, while I did my best to squash most bugs there might be a few that I was unable to find so if you find some please let me know the area where they occurred so I can fix them. I hope you will enjoy what my site has to offer in its current form and maybe even suggest additional areas of improvement as well as new features for the next beta.

Well vacation was good and now settling down with family for thanksgiving.

Well I got some great news guys I have just successfully got a fully working channel, playlist, subcategory and movies to play fully on my local site. What this means is I can successfully now upload videos. There are still a few bugs to work out but overall it is looking pretty good. :)

Video browser will allow users to switch between ogv files and mp4 files. This way to accommodate many different browsers. To do this each both ogv and mp4s must be uploaded to each movie to make this work.
This will increase the amount of data I will need to store but will be well worth it.

As of now I am continuing to tweek it get top performance.

It really bugs me when users block other users for relatively nothing wrong. A friend of mine asked me for help and I decided to help them. After I talked to the person who in question was bullying them they were extremely rude to me. Not only that but they accused me of being a white night.

I am someone who like to know both sides of an arguement so that I can understand what on earth is going on but they were extremely rude and blocked me in turn just for trying to help a friend of mine by getting to the bottom of it.
This is extremely rude and unfair.

I don't like blocking users at all and I have yet to block one till now.
They called my friend rude things and they want to be seen fairly for this?!

No way that is extremely unfair.

I want an appology in hand writting not only to my friend but to me as well.

The type of behaviour like this is uncalled for.

I am not mentioning the person in question here nor my friend to protect their privacy.

After some time through this whole process I have decided it is time to update my friends list since it has been a while and I have kind of learned a few things. I learned that some people have stuck with me and I have had many interactions with users for the better. :)

 DragonX1010 is one of those artist that is well kind of special. He captures a special bond of dragon cat hybrids mixed in with humans which seems to be quite a rarity in most fandom bases. There is something almost magical about this kind of creativity.

As of May 24, 2017 Duelingpets now has a working Blog, Pm, Registration and stats section with more features. It plays out rather nicely and I am going to be taking a break from it for the time being as I been working on it for about 5 months.
