My twitter account(s) still exist but, at this point, they're locked down and only exist to keep the handles under my control to prevent impersonation and whatnot.

TLDR; 'furryblocklist', a popular block list for supposedly 'problematic' furries, has apparently caught me in it's net. I was informed by a user over there who did not want to block me that they used the app and only realized some time later I had been blocked too.

TLDR; It qualifies telling a nazi to fuck off as being 'highly likely to be problematic'. No points for guessing how that could cause issues with the veracity of their 'list'.

I remember reporting that app way back in '22 when it first cropped up off the back of that same thread, iirc, and it's good to see Twatter is doing it's job to ensure absolutely nothing has happened as a result lol.

So, while I'm back in Ol Blighty helping my mother out, I am in need of more monies. The expenses of just getting myself physically from the airport to her house ended up being more than planned.

I'm going to open up 8 new commission slots for Telegram Stickers (10 or more, static or animated), Character art, Ref sheets, etc. - which is more slots than I usually do, but with good reason.

These commissions will be paid for in advance, and will all be finished by the end of April.

While I can work to some degree over here, the mobile version of Clip has already crashed on me once so I'm not sure how well I'll be able to stick to my usual quick turnaround. As such, I'll be taking commissions and the payment up front so I can actually use the money/pay bills and such back home right away. Once I'm back in the US I'll be back at my fancy tablet and computer and able to pound away at every job I have lined up that isnt already done by then.

Hopefully you all know me well enough by now to know that I do not run off with people's money. If you take one of these slots and I agree to the work, you WILL get your artwork by the end of April. I value my reputation and I'm not gonna put it on the line by screwing people over lol

By which I mean I'll be back in Ole Blighty from the 20th to about the 5th-8th of next month. My Mum (who you may or may not remember had a fall about a year ago) is finally going in for her knee surgery on the 21st, and as the most schedule-unrestricted of her sons, I'm going to go house-sit for her and help her settle back in once she's out of the hospital again/sort a few things out for her convenience before I come back home.

This may well interrupt the update schedule for  cavesandcritters and my commissions, but I'll endeavor to keep as on-top of things as I can.

That said, we don't exactly have a lot of cash to spare, and I won't be able to work as much during those few weeks - so if anybody is feeling generous and would like to throw a few bucks our way (Ko-Fi)to help us deal with the reduced income during that period, I definitely will not stop you. n.n;;

Thankfully the flight itself is covered, as I have a leftover travel voucher from when I had to cancel my last planned trip back home (seeing as how COVID had just sprung into view and I really didn't want to risk that) - so any donations/tips/whatever you wanna call thems will just be helping me out from spending all our money buying cleaning supplies or feeding myself over there on the obscene exchange rate or whatever else. :F

Mum is now home from the hospital, and after spending a good half hour chatting to her on the phone, sounds like she really is back to her old self. We spoke about the various care she's getting from friends and family and I'm now more confident than ever that she's being looked after right - her friend is checking in on her daily, the dog walker took it upon herself to do stuff like weed her garden for her in her absence, and the dog is getting so many walks a day that it doesn't know what to do with itself lol

She's also due a visit from the an elderly care charity in the next few days to determine what changes need made to her house to make it more old-person-friendly, and seems very confident and happy with that whole process as well.

All of that is convenient, because it turns out that emigrating from the US back to the UK - at least with my husband in tow, which I consider a kind of important part of moving - is RIDONKULOUSLY expensive, so we'll be staying here in terms of living arrangements 'cos god-DAYUMN I do not have that kinda money nor would I ever ask anybody to spot me it for the length of time it needs to be 'in my control' to count. That said, I'll be visiting home more often - yearly at the very least, finances permitting - to see everybody and stay in touch better, and just calling Mum more often to see how she's doing.

So yeah... panic over. All is well. Whewph. -w-;

Good news - Mum's almost certainly NOT dying imminently.

The shadow on her brain is, according to the specialists, almost certainly a 'central neurocytoma' - which is almost always benign (thus unlikely to spread) and has an approx 80% cure rate with surgery. Assuming that goes well, her life expectancy will be the same as any other healthy persons' of her age.

She did still have the fall, and that was likely due to an infection she picked up as a result of not quite being able to look after herself properly any more. Being the stubborn old Brit that she is, of course, she refutes all claims to that effect, but it's clear she does still need (and will need more of, as time goes on) more care/company, so  mightymightyena and myself are still going to move over there to take care of her; the difference now being we don't need to be packing our shit and jumping on the next plane available. The hospital is already processing arrangements for home care for her, and she has her friend a few houses down and the dog walker (who's also been an angel during all this, taking extra time caring for/spending time with Mum's dog at no charge while she's in the hospital) so she'll be okay until we get there.

Now excuse me while I process a several-week-long sigh of relief.

About a week ago, my Mum - back in England - had a fall.

At first, they thought it was an infection causing delirium - and while that's not been ruled out entirely, the tests she's had at the hospital have also found as-yet-inconclusively identified shadows on her brain and lungs. So now, they think it was a seizure caused by the brain shadow, whatever it actually is.

As such, she might have cancer. If she does, she's got about 6 months left.

The infection isn't totally ruled out - a friend of hers was a career care-worker when they were working, and told us about two cases she knows of personally where women in very similar situations to Mum turned out to just have an infection. Fingers crossed that's true for Mum too, but we won't know until Tuesday at the earliest, when all the scans are done and studied by the right people.

She is, at present, back to full lucidity and as mobile as she was beforehand (which wasn't much due to a knee injury, but she's at least back to that level), which is a blessing in itself.

 mightymightyena and I are making plans as quickly as we can to move to the UK ASAP to become her live-in carers and companionship, whether it turns out to be cancer or (hopefully) something less terminal - because honestly, I could never forgive myself if I wasn't there for her and things got worse. She has the entire rest of my family looking out for her, but they all have families of their own to worry about with my assorted nieces, and we're by far the most able to uproot our lives and take over the lions' share of looking after her.

As such, updates on both  cavesandcritters and commissions will be heavily delayed for the foreseeable future. I will endeavour to get back on both as I can - because honestly, drawing is very calming to me and good de-stresser (and also, capitalism stops for nobody and there's bills to pay) - but life will be taking priority for a while.

I know none of you would judge me or be upset about this, but y'all deserve to know why things slow down for a while.
