I've decided I'm going to skip the next few Kinktober prompts. There's a lot I could draw for them, but I just couldn't think of anything I wanted to draw.

Kinktober sketches will resume on the 23rd. I already have ideas I like for the rest of the month from there. Thank you for understanding.

No need to go hunting for a link to it; you can just describe it to me and I'll probably remember it.

I don't think I'll be able to actually do anything for a while longer, but it's valuable info to have and might help to motivate me.

Since my gallery is almost entirely Argent anyway, I'm thinking of redoing my gallery's folder structure to sort things by content rather than by character. Or at least just adding more folders for different things; one for statues, one for bondage, one for hypnosis, etc. I'm pretty sure nobody would mind, but I'd be curious to know if anyone has any strong opinions on the matter.

I'm 28 years old today.

I haven't been able to draw anything in a long time. That's just kinda how things are right now. Eventually I'll get around to fixing that. Probably.

But in the meantime, I have a whole lot of commissions and old scraps that I never got around to uploading, and I just discovered how to use PostyBirb. Which means my own laziness is now less of a factor, and I can set up a whole pile of things to upload automatically.

So get ready for some gallery spam, everyone.

Hey everyone. I realized I've been a bit quiet over here, so I just wanted to reassure people that I'm still around and still doing stuff. The main thing I wanted to say is: I know it's been a very long time since my last written work, but I promise that I haven't given up on writing. I've got a lot of ideas to put to use, but I just haven't really been in the right mindset for it. Writing is a lot of work. Which is why I've been focusing more on drawing; drawing is easier to just go and do, while writing takes a super long time to plan everything out. I do fully intend to get the next thing written as soon as I can, but I don't know when that will be. For now I'll still be focusing on art - again, when I can.

Speaking of which. I wanted to ask everyone, is there anything in particular that I've drawn in the past that you'd like to see more of? Or anything I haven't done that you'd like to see me try? I've got a huge list of picture ideas, and it would help me to narrow it down a bit. Prioritize the ideas people are more interested in, and such. Please leave a comment if anything comes to mind.

There's a lot of pictures that I'm about to upload. Around half are commissions or gifts, and the rest are my own works. You've been warned.

Nothing to worry about. Just fixing some word choice from the old stories, cutting out references that don't make sense, stuff like that. No changes to plot or anything. Just thought I'd give a heads-up that some of the oldest stories are about to be edited a bit.

As far as the cleanup part is concerned, I'm just moving some particularly old stuff to my scraps.

Generally it was a lot of old ideas that I chose to develop in different ways than I had thought of way back then. So I moved them to my scraps to avoid confusion with more recent stuff.

There are a couple of good ideas in my old notes that I still intend to expand upon properly – or, in one case, that I already have been expanding upon and just haven't shared any of yet. I'll definitely be returning to those. I just have a lot going on in my head right now. ^^;

Which leads into the update part. My job is a lot more stable, and I'm on some new medication, and honestly? I feel fucking fantastic. You may have noticed that I've recently (finally!) been able to do some actual art I was happy with – this is why. And I intend to keep that going. I've got a long list of picture ideas, and a new Argent story in the works too. It's still difficult to find the time to work on art/writing stuff, since my job keeps me busy on weekdays and I have other stuff happening on weekends, but I'm going to find some time anyway and I'm going to put it to use because I have actual, like, motivation now, and it's kind of awesome.

Anyway, that's how things have been going for me. I hope you all are doing all right too!

As we all know, I hate April Fools Day.

So, in its place, I am instituting Do Something Nice Day.

To participate, instead of pranking someone, simply do something nice for them instead. They'll never see it coming, and you'll both have something to feel good about.

Also, in the spirit of Do Something Nice Day, I'm holding an impromptu sketch raffle over on Twitter. (Yes, I specifically avoided saying so in the title of this journal. If you read this far anyway, congrats!) As an asexual, I look at sexual intercourse the same way I would look at a glob of unidentifiable mushy paste that was just served for dinner at a fancy party.

I look around and I see everyone else eating it and clearly enjoying it. I know it tastes good to them, I know they like it, because it's very obvious they like it. And I can understand why they like it, because I know that it was specifically made to be something they would enjoy.

But no matter how much you encourage me to try it, no matter how much I know that everyone else thinks it's great, I just can't get past how utterly disgusting it looks to me. I know just from a glance, from the appearance and texture and presentation, that it's exactly the sort of thing that I will never be willing or able to partake in, and I feel absolutely fine passing it up because I wasn't very hungry to begin with and I'd really rather just go home and have a quick snack by myself.

I apologize for the lack of content. But I just don't care right now.

I'm basically taking a break from art and writing for the time being. I just don't feel like it's worth it. The amount of time and effort I put into it just don't match the enjoyment I get back out of it. I haven't had any motivation to do anything creative because it all feels like a waste of my time. It's like, I could draw something and feel good for a bit, and have maybe half a dozen people enjoy it for a few minutes before moving on, or I could blow that off and play loads of video games and have more fun that way. Yeah, most of the time nobody else benefits if I just play loads of video games (barring anything multiplayer with friends), but I just don't care enough anymore. I'd rather fill up my time with things that feel good, and drawing and writing just don't feel good enough.

I may go back to doing more creative things in the future, but I'm not going to make a guess as to how far in the future that will be. Maybe one day I'll be sick of all my video games and say, "well, I don't have anything better to do, guess I'll draw something." That might be next January when I don't have a job anymore and thus have eight more hours to kill every weekday. We'll see.

And I just haven't been in the mood to draw any of them yet. XD

I'm going to try to work on something soon, though. See, I noticed that my list seems to have an awful lot of Iris on it, and I think it's a shame I haven't drawn her very much.

I'm still around, in case anyone was wondering. Just been very tired, feeling overwhelmed by a lot of stuff going on IRL. Still got a whole list of pictures I want to draw, but I haven't been in the mood. It might be a while before you see me post anything I made myself, but I would rather work on stuff when I'm feeling like I can do it well than try to force something to completion and end up with a low-quality work. At some point I know I'm going to have to just force something out anyway, but not now.

I do feel better about shutting down my Patreon page and closing commissions and all that crap. Still a little bad, because I know there are at least a couple of people who had ideas they wanted to see me do. I'm still always open for suggestions, of course, but keep in mind that that's all they would be.

At the very least I have managed to do some stuff for myself, but it's the kind of thing that isn't really important at this time. I'm talking, like, doing all the math to figure out an entire planet's mass, density, and distance from its star so that it's at least plausible that it's almost completely habitable. And that planet isn't Freedman IV, incidentally. I'll just say I'm working on a fourth OC (fourth not counting Ambrosia) and leave you with something to think about: what happens when a magic anomaly happens to create a brand new, fully sentient species reminiscent of something from a whole different species' ancient mythology? What would their society be like? (People I talk to on Discord, you might know what I'm hinting at here.) I honestly have no plans for this at all at this time – I'm just doing it just for fun.

And that's about it for now, I think. Later, everyone; hopefully I'll get something interesting done soon-ish.

Just wasn't worth it.

Had exactly two patrons, and somehow even that was proving to be too stressful. I only had to do a sketch a month for each of them, but in practice I ended up having to do both sketches in the last week, maybe week and a half, of each month, and I just felt so rushed and stressed out over it. I mean, on August 1st one of the first things I found myself thinking was, "crap, it's a new month, I owe people sketches." And I don't ever want to start feeling that way about something I was doing for fun. It is astounding how stressful something you were doing for fun can become when you're given an obligation and a deadline.

So long story short, I'm not gonna do it anymore. I'll let friends suggest ideas, do art trades now and then. I just won't take any money for them. I don't need the money. I don't want the money. I don't want what comes with the money. It's just not worth it.

A good friend of mine ( paul) is having some financial troubles, and another ( LexHanley) has designed a character he's selling at auction to help raise money. So if you're interested in a cute mantis girl, or know someone else who might be, or just want to tell people about the auction and offer support that way, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
