As you may or may not recall, Tigermode the Sketchbook is an 80-page full-color collection of sketches, illustrations, and work from unreleased projects. Hey, babies! Just wanted to pop in and wish you beautiful people a merry Christmas and all that! Apart from the few commissions I owe, I probably won't be all that active here for a while (apart from the occasional opening for smaller commissions if necessary). I just need a break from furry art for a bit. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a possible blizzard to prepare for! Ta, then!

In the event there were any of you out there collecting POGs and their many knock-offs in the mid-90s, there used to be a series of milk caps with anthro-ized NFL team mascots generally being EXTREME all over their individual caps, and I can't for the life of me remember anything about them other than they weren't official POGs. A search of the interwebs has yielded no results so far. That said, any of you folks out there remember or --do I dare to dream?-- own any of them and can pass along some info?

I don't think it's too soon for one of these. I think I've already hit my magnum opus for the year, anyway, so I may as well.

2010 was a pretty exciting year. I leveled up very early on, and found myself suddenly whisked away to North Carolina to work as an artist for a social media company in late February, and had one of my comics picked up for publication mid-year or so (had to retool some things, so it's still in production). The months seriously just flew by. I can't even believe it's been nearly a year since I found myself unexpectedly having to relocate with three days notice. 9_9 I'm definitely a lot better off financially, in theory. I'm still always broke, so there doesn't seem to be much difference. X3

On the art front, things were a little different. Normally, I'll go back to the first drawing of the year and compare it to the last drawing of the year, and there is usually a noticeable jump in quality. This year, it wasn't as apparent. (If you care to compare, first big pic of the year versus what will probably end up being the strongest closing pic)I thought, for a moment, that I might soon reach a plateau in the next two years or so, but I don't want there to ever be a time where I feel I can't improve, so I dismissed it. What I DID notice was that it was a big year for experimentation. Aside from learning to poop out production-quality art in a short amount of time, I had a large advantage in that work required me to draw in different art styles for the different games I had to work on, which I suppose carried over into my art most recently. I think most of the credit, though, goes to really paying attention to the sort of work my fellow artists were doing and branching out to see what I was made of, in a sense. A lot of really excellent talent has come out of the woodwork this year, or rather, this year, my eyes were a little more open, and I've had the great opportunity and pleasure of getting to talk and work with many different folks. So rather than a consistent step up, it's been more of zigging and zagging to become more well-rounded.
