Its only been a few years, right?

Life is always up for some crazy twists and turns, which brings me back here. I'm surprised to see so many people still following me, to which I say thank you! I didn't think I'd ever come back here, but the insatiable pull to create yanked me back. I've decided to work on fursuits and costuming again. I can't yet guarantee what sorts of things I'll be making, but I have one suit in the works right now that I plan on putting up for auction.

I've got a new profile now. You can find all of my new stuff over at  coffeebun ! I don't have anything posted yet, but I will soon. I just finished up a mold for a canine head base this evening. For those friends that have been wondering why the hell I dropped off the face of the planet, well...sorry. I had a lot happening in my life back in 2010. Huge changes. I'm no longer in Florida. I live in Columbus, Ohio now, been here for almost 2 years. I met my wife here and it sealed my fate xD. We just got married 2 weeks ago! Life was constantly shifting when we first met, moving in and out of places, dealing with family issues. But now that things have settled down and I have more time on my hands, I'm drawn back yet again to creating things. We've both been toying around with Etsy shops and crafts, so fursuits naturally came back into my head.

Why did I not start watching this sooner?!

I just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive! I know I haven't been very active for the past few weeks, but I'm getting going with my new job (finally!).

I'm still on the fence about Megaplex (wondering if I'll have the time off), but I have no room, so that might be an issue. If anyone has open space, point me in their direction and maybe I can work something out with them (like, pay even if I don't go just so I'm guaranteed a space).

Working on getting ready right now. I can't believe I'm finally going to have a Bachelor's degree. I still have to pass my licensing exam, but I'm well on my way to being an RN!

I'm thinking about making another fursuit. For auction, of course. The idea I have is for a wolf. So far, I have some white fur, but I'd need to find some grey and black (or 2 shades of grey), as well as all the other supplies. I almost want to venture into make a realistic head, but I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for that.

I probably won't get to start until a couple of weeks from now due to graduation, starting a new job, Elliot's, etc etc. But I wanted to let all of you out there in FA land know. Who knows, someone out there might be interested in owning a new wolfy suit ;3

So, for the majority of yesterday, it was only  candorian and me (with Evan and Gavin showing up later). While we did have a lot of fun (and we got free pedicures from the fish), I was pretty bummed out that no one else could come. Especially since me and Candorian spent money to feed people and no one was there.

So I'm not planning these meets anymore. I spend a lot of money in gas trying to drive down to visit everyone. And lots of money in food for these potluck events. But very few people want to participate in return (or drive anywhere). I had really gotten excited about this meet since I've been away for almost 2 months and I gave everyone plenty of advance notice. For those of you that had your reasons for not showing up, I completely understand (work, other plans, no ride, etc).

If any of you guys plan to hang out (even if it's just at someone's house), I'll gladly come along if I'm free (and if you invite me or let me know about it, since I'm usually not informed about stuff). But I no longer have any desire to plan events.

On the other hand, I'm very excited about these new meets that are happening in Tampa :3 I can't make it to the next one (since it's my Graduation day), but I'm hoping to make one of them soon!

First off, I realized I never mentioned a time. How does 2pm sound?

Second, so far I only have 2 people who have confirmed they are going. Granted they're 2 really awesome friends ( candorian and  aryafierce) and I think we'll have a blast. But why is no one else able to go?

If you're working or busy, I completely understand that. But if you're not, can you please just say why? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I need your input. If this is a bad place to meet up or a place that most of you can't get to, PLEASE let me know! If you know of someplace better, PLEASE speak up! I really don't understand why Fuchsia's house can be filled with 10+ people, but when I plan an event, you all vanish.

I'd really appreciate some feedback from you all. I don't like organizing these meets because it bums me out when no one shows up. But I seem to be the only person who feels like taking on the role. I surely hope that it's not me that you'd rather not be around.

We seem to like parks, mainly because they're cheap and allow us to be loud, obnoxious, and generally not have to worry about disturbing others.

It's near Ruskin, which is about half-way between Tampa and Bradenton. I'd prefer not to go to the park we've been at just because it's such a long drive. But this place has picnic areas and places to sit. And best of all, it's by the water! So bring water shoes and even bathing suits if you'd like (I don't know if I'll actually swim, but the option is open!)

Yay! It's finally that week! I have my final day of clinicals tomorrow, then I'm DONE. So Saturday is the time to celebrate~

First off, how many of you are interested and would be able to attend? I still haven't decided what to do (suggestions would be great!). But I want to get an idea so I know whether to host it in the Bradenton area or Tampa area. Remember, I can arrange carpooling if gas money is provided.

Something cheap is preferable (unless someone wants to treat me as a graduation present ;3 ), since I've been so busy with school and not had time to work. Maybe some place like a Wing House (like we usually do). There's also a couple of parks I've been looking at.

So, remember how I was talking about making an Arcanine suit? I sort of lost interest (and time) in it, and it's sitting half-finished on the shelf. It's been there for months, and I don't really feel like I'll ever have a desire to finish it.

Should I just sell it as a fixer-upper? I still have cream and orange fur (the black was used up). I probably wouldn't ask for much (maybe starting at $150?)

Any opinions? Or perhaps, anyone interested in taking over? I'll snap a few pictures of the head just to show you guys. I still really like the idea of having a Pokemon fursuit, but I've been having a lot of second-thoughts on my own fursuit-making abilities. Or maybe I'm just too stressed with school right now.

Just giving you all a heads up, for those still interested in doing meets, that I'd like to get one together for MAY 1ST. Why? It's the first Saturday in a loooong while that I'll finally be free! And I miss you guys! (I know I bumped into Fuchsia and Ulare at FWA, but we didn't really hang out much, lol.)

Mark this date on your calendars! I'm not quite sure what we will do or where it will be, but I'd like it to be big. And INVITE people! It'll be in either Sarasota or Tampa, depending on who's interested in coming.

So after the entire airport ordeal, my trip to FWA was pretty fun. I was really surprised by the area (since I didn't go last year). I didn't expect to be right in the middle of downtown.

I was kind of sad that more females didn't go to the Furry Girl Pow Wow, because that seemed like the most fun of the panels. I met some friendly people there (which I'm trying to remember all your names so I can add you :o )

I didn't do as much suiting at this con because, quite honestly, my suit is getting old. Since it was my first, there were a lot of errors I made on it. And the ventilation kinda sucks. But I'm currently arranging to get a new suit. I'm stuck between commissioning  media or Savage Turtle Studios ( jakejynx and  quaylak). I got to see suits from both makers close up (thanks to some very friendly suiters who let me check their stuff out :3). I've been trying to hold out for  joecifur, but I have no idea if he's going to continue suit-making long enough for me to save up the money.

Anyway, enough suit talk. The only thing I guess I can say that's annoying me is the ChewFox drama. Everyone who WASN'T at the con seems to know everything about what happened. When, in reality, it's all false info. I obviously have no desire to go all SRS BSNS on the issue, but I do wish people would chill. I actually think ChewFox is pretty hilarious. After, ya know, actually spending time around her and Tomcat and not assuming anything. But then again, I stopped reading furrydrama2 a long time ago :p

But now the con is over, it's back to work! All my weekends from now until May will have clinicals happening. Goodbye social life!

Yesterday was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had with an airline. And I've flown on AirTran (if you've flown with them, you know the deal).

So I bought a ticket a few weeks ago for a flight to Augusta to spend some time with  pandapawlin before FWA. I even went to the extent of buying it on Delta.com so I wouldn't get an overbooked ticket (I'm forced to only get Delta because they run a monopoly at the small airport in Augusta. Well, US Airways is there too, but their tickets were much more expensive). So anyway, I get my ticket, come to the airport yesterday. All of my tickets print off with "Seat Request" on them. I didn't think much of it at the time, but from know on I know that's a VERY bad sign.

So the flight from Tampa to Atlanta went fine. I got a seat, got on, all good. The problems begin as soon as I get into the Atlanta airport.

I run on down to my terminal, because (of course), its 5 miles away. And when I get to the gate for Augusta, I'm on seat request again. The attendant is calling people up for seat assignments. Everyone except me. There's 3 people in line ahead of me talking to her, but I'm kinda leaning on the desk trying to get her attention because the plane is, well, about to leave.

Of course they oversold the flight and had 3 people more than they could fit. Which, personally, should be made illegal. So even though I PAID for my ticket just like everyone else did, I'm forced to wait for the next flight. But I'm not just waiting. I'M PUT ON FUCKING STANDBY. Really? Standby? Apparently when you buy your ticket, there's a secret "class" of ticket you're purchasing, which is completely undisclosed to you. And that "class" determines your priority on the plane, regardless of what you've paid.

So, of course, the three of us left behind were raising hell. They offered us either $400 toward another Delta flight, which I would have loved to say "take that $400 and shove it up your rectum." Or they could cut me a check right then and there for $66 as a "we're sorry." Could they give a refund for the flight? Suuure, but you wouldn't be allowed to land. Nevermind how much they've screwed you over.

So I take the $66 because that'll be nice spending money for FWA. The manager that's dealing with us runs off somewhere and, literally, NEVER came back. I guess he was afraid of confrontation. But that's very poor customer service. So we're waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally the first flight attendant gives me my new Standby ticket and the $400 credit. "Um, NO, I don't want this. I want the check!" "...Oh, that's not what he told me..." FUCKING IDIOT. So this whole time I'm sitting around waiting (potentially missing the next flight) is because of THEIR fault.

Another manager appears this time and proceeds to explain to me that they don't have access to the checks right now because the higher-up managers are "in a class" and can't get out. And they can only hand me the check in person (can't mail it or deposit it). So this is where I'm REALLY getting frosted over. You DO NOT, under any circumstances, put your customer on the back-burner for "a class."

Imagine if I were working in the hospital and a family member comes up to the Nurse's station and says "So-in-so is lying in a pile of their own shit, can someone come clean him up?" "Oh I'm sorry, your tech is Lindsay and she's in a class right now." That would not fly, so why is it ok for it to happen in an airport?

So, at this point, it's 8:00pm (when I originally should have been landing). The next flight is at 8:30. I'm standing at the desk, very impatiently, waiting for this lady to return with the check. Because if I left, they couldn't give it to me. She finally waltzes up at 8:15 (I could have slapped her for walking so slowly) and starts writing stuff down. So I ask her "Will I make this next flight? I have to go over a terminal?" "Oh yeah hun, you should make it."

I grab my check and literally run all the way. And, if you didn't know, I have a fear of escalators. Like, a terrible fear of them. I'm generally a rational person, but this is one of those irrational things about me. And the elevators are all fucked up and not opening, so I'm forced to go up 2 stories on the escalator. I thought I was going to have a panic attack.

But anyways, I run the rest of the way to the gate, give my ticket to the guy and say "I'm getting on this flight." Which he, very rudely, said "No...you're not." If there were no chance I'd get arrested, I would have learned across the counter and swiped his eyeballs out. The tone in his voice and overall response was just...RUDE. So I tell him I need a HIGH UP manager because I've VERY angry. "You mean you need to speak with a manager?" No dickhead, I wanna buttfuck them. YES I WANT TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER.

Again, I'm directed toward another person who really doesn't give a shit by their attitude, but will listen. I tell the lady my story, and all she can say is "You knew this was a risk when you bought your ticket." Um, NO! FUCK NO! Maybe in the teeny-tiny TOS print or something, but not anywhere where a normal human being can read. So she's giving me this whole line of bullshit about how all airlines do this. But she does print me out a ticket for the 10:50pm flight (which, mind you, I SHOULD have left at 7:00pm). And the ticket has a seat assignment on it, THANK GOD. Seat 1C. Bitching gets you somewhere eventually.

And, as a way to say "we're sorry," they gave me a $7 food voucher. Which bought me a small ice cream cone and a water. Awesome.

I'm so terrified they're gonna pull this shit on the way home, because I have NO time to spare getting home (I have clinical the next day). If my ticket gets "Seat Request" on it, I'll probably scream.

And that is why I will NEVER step foot on a Delta plane another day in my life. And I will NEVER fly to Atlanta again. 8 hours of driving is so totally worth it to avoid the headaches and utter frustration.

Sorry for the lack of updates coming from me. Life has gone pretty insane lately. But it'll only be that way until about April 27-ish. I was able to (amazing) squeeze in FWA, which I'm very grateful for. (Don't tell USF, they might be pissed)

Anyway, I've never done artist alley or anything, and I don't have a table, but I may do some little sketches and stuff for people for a small price ($2-3). If anyone is interested, comment here so I can keep an eye out for you. If you want anything more complex (inked, colored), you can find me and discuss it as well. I know I've got a loooong way to go art-wise, but I think my prices are reasonable.

I won't be doing too much work, but I'll be able to get some stuff in during the downtime. Just let me know, I'm easy to work with :3

Bad news guys, but remember what I said about school going insane? Well, it officially has. I had to get my Preceptorship hours scheduled, and they're mainly going to be on weekends :< So I won't have much of a social life from now until the end of April. Maybe a random dinner here and there, but that's about it.

That being said, I can still announce meets if you'd like me to, I just won't be at them. Or if anyone else wants to step up to the plate of organizing, that would be great too.

First off, I apologize for the lack of meets that have been scheduled lately. The last couple weekends have been packed with stuff (my birthday and the family stuff involved, getting a fursuit done, Kayden-butt's birthday, etc etc).

Anyway, how would you guys feel about a dinner meet this Saturday (Feb 13th) at around 7-7:30ish? How about Winghouse (by the old bowling alley?) I know we've been trying to find new places to meet, but that location has tables that will accommodate us.

I'm looking for some really dense upholstery foam. Denser than the green JoAnns stuff. I want to try carving a head from a block (subtractive building as opposed to the additive building I usually do). I have a feeling that getting it off the internet is going to be my only option. But all the websites I've seen just look WAAAY to sketchy. I'm not comfortable purchasing from them.

Does anyone know of a trusted place to get this. Even better, any local furs that know a good place?
