YET MORE Sketch Batches Upcoming
Posted 6 years agoSo... YET AGAIN, I'm gonna need to open up a new batch of sketches before I've finished my current one. Just felt I should notify everyone waiting on pics. The prior sketches will be prioritized, so new ones will probably be started late next week. Again, I *fucking* hate doing things this way, but I can't get a week where some nonsense doesn't happen. Just got one of those IRS "lol guess what you owe us 300 more than we thought" letters. Gotta squeeze in a trip to the DMV to renew my license at some point. Gotta save up for the OTHER tax payment and upcoming rent.
Guys.
June's kicking my ass and I feel bad about it. My birthday's gonna be so sucky -__-

ANOTHER Sketch Batch Upcoming
Posted 6 years agoHey guys, just wanted to say I'm gonna be taking on another batch of sketch commissions a bit later on today even though I still owe heaps of sketches from this most recent batch. Which is a pretty shitty thing to do and I fuckin hate it, but I don't have a whole lot of options, taxes cleaned me out completely this past month and now I need to scramble for rent.
So if you're still waiting on a pic from me, I WILL be getting to yours first, and the next sketches will likely start early next week.
I guess I figured it'd be best to lay it out there so y'all know I'm not just stiffing you.
Thanks for always being so supportive and understanding guys. I really hope May's the month that drawing asses goes back to being fun and not stressful as all hell lol

(EDIT, may as well put this here too as it's something else I've been considering heh): Back a few years ago I established (half-jokingly) that Mira's something of a shapeshifter. Truth be told it was mostly to explain her ever-shifting body type because I suck at consistency and remaining on-model, but thinking about it, it might make for a good excuse to draw her as various furry types. I've drawn her as a "werekitty" once, maybe she shifts to suit the preferences of her partner? Whether it be a moo or an avian or just a thiccer version of her regular self? I've tried and failed to come up with a furry character I like, maybe this'd be a painless way to do that.

Really sorry but I don't think I'm gonna be streaming today, wanted to see how I felt after a bit but my hand's acting up.
Started to feel some cramping in the ol' drawing hand and I'll be trying throughout to get back on it but I'd rather not push it, especially with a whooole bunch of draws left to do :'D
EDIT: if anyone else draws, do you think a bigger tablet is better/worse in that respect? I've heard lots of horror stories about people using Cintiqs for long periods of time, and having all manner of eye and wrist/arm problems. I've used Cintiqs here and there, but didn't really see much benefit, particularly at their price point. I've used small tablets pretty much my whole life, and not really minded. But I'm wondering if all that hand constriction from working on such a small surface area is worse long-term.

Just figured I'd let you know, before I reupload my commission info, I'll probably be re-examining my prices. Specifically for sketch pics, as I've often been spending a bit longer than 45 minutes on them.
My situation this month is pretty dire, between taxes, student loans, rent, and ALL that stuff, I don't have health insurance, and after this coming week I'll probably barely have 10 bucks to my name lol. My savings account has 3 bucks in it.
As much as I dislike pricing people out, this situation just isn't sustainable. Doing 30 pics in a week--even quick ones--isn't something I can do repeatedly. I'm driving myself insane because I don't even feel like I can leave the house for fear of spending anything.
Just figured I'd let you guys know in advance. Thanks so much for your continued support as I try to figure this out. This IS still the job I wanna do. I just really have to find a way to do it without losing my shirt.

January's gonna have a lot of catch-up in it. The pile of pics I owe people is daunting, but I can do it if I just focus. My New Year's Resolution is one word long: focus.
That means consistent streaming hours (M-Sat, 10-6-ish sounds about right), going to the gym again, drinking some water, and eating something besides cheese and Beefaroni.
Whatever's coming down the pipeline with the reams of godawful legislation about to go into effect, I don't know. But fear is the mind killer, and being freaked out helps nobody, anywhere.
Hoping in 2019 I can also interact with the fellow hoo-mans in meatspace more regularly. It's important, as reluctant as I am to admit it. I'm incredibly appreciative of all the support and love you guys have given me. I know I haven't responded to everything you guys said on my last journal, but just know I read all of it (over and over again) and cried at it most every time. I'm stronger than this and I hope to prove it. Thanks again, guys.

I'm leaving a lot of notes/emails unread 'cuz I'm still doing catch-up and that's just not cool. In a bit over my head.

I’ll be visiting home for the holidays from the 21st-29th, and given that my attempts to work on my laptop last year were pretty much disastrous, I’m just gonna say I’ll be back in action on the 30th.
Thanks to all current commissioners for bearing with me through all the December fuckery. I’m doing my best to wrap up as much as I can before I leave.
Also sorry for the continued lack of uploads. Something’s off with me lately but I’m gonna need to keep the commission train rolling harder than ever in January.
I’ll find my muse again someday :/

Future Commissions
Posted 8 years agoJust as a heads-up, I've been setting up my Square and Google Wallet accounts, and *may* be using them for payments on commissions in the future. I'll continue to use PayPal until if/when I observe the recent funds issues happening to me.
Basically there have been rumblings about PayPal holding funds for weeks to a month, an issue which hasn't affected me yet, but if it does I'm gonna need to jump right off that train. I dunno of many people who wouldn't be impacted by money being delayed 4 weeks so I've no idea why PP would be trying such a thing. Especially considering outside of the US Square and Google Wallet aren't really a thing? It just all sounds really stupid and like shooting yourself in the foot so it's hard imagining this change taking root, but I just wanna be sure.
Or I dunno, maybe someone here knows more about it than I do? :p
