SCHOOL IS OVER FOR ME FOREVER!!
On the 17th I graduate with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon!
I MADE IT (well, hopefully. we will see when I get my grades)
But this is so exciting! time to move onto the real world! after a week of relaxation that is haha
Pretty soon I'll be working toward my own comic series (with a whole new set of characters!)
I will probably make a second account for that.
This also means, that I can ACTUALLY DO ART! and finish all those commissions/gifts/trades/whatnot that I promised a while ago, because I am no longer dying from work overload.

School and new story?
General | Posted 10 years agoHey all. Now that my weekends of fun and excitement are done (FWA/carnival/tekko) now begins the weeks/weekends from hell!
It is crunch time as I approach my final few weeks of school EVER!
I wish I was excited but I am way too busy to be excited!
So much to do, so little time.
My internet involvement will be limited at this time, but Ill be around a bit haha.
in other news, I have been drawing grotesque(i love that word) art recently. It has led to the creation of a new character that I really like, and that has led to a possible new story!
I am still working on the idea, but it is basically this:
On a small island somewhere in the world, there was some sort of disaster that caused the inhabitants of the island to become deformed and ugly monsters. The island was quarantined and humans were forbidden to enter the island (or the few miles of surrounding water) because the air and water, and basically everything is toxic.
These creatures on this island are intelligent and are just trying to live their lives normally. They are still somewhat feral beasts, and hunt the monsters of the island for food and other necessities. The monsters are dangerous, so only the bravest head out of the safe zone to take them out. There aren't many inhabitants of the island due to the inability to reproduce, so they do what they can to survive. They cannot leave the island, so they have no idea what the outside world is like. They consider it evil as it has betrayed their kind. So I bet you can imagine what would happen if humans managed to figure out a way to enter the island...
I would love feedback and ideas! It is meant to be a fun and silly story, even though it may seem serious.

FWA Recap
General | Posted 10 years agoFirst off, what an AMAZING weekend!
FWA was my first out of state furcon and my second out of state con.
It was also my longest con!
After a 16 hour car ride and arriving in Atlanta at 5am, I was well rested and was able to start the con off with high energy!
I traveled/roomed with these cool kids:
and now have many silly memories to share with them x3
Also spend a lot of time with these not-as-cool kids ;p
and 
I don't even have enough words for how amazing this con was for me. It was a whole new experience and I have all of you to thank for that. Everyone was so high energy and despite the hiccups *cough dancecomp cough* everyone made it worth while. I didn't suit as much as I wanted to because of the lack of cool air, but I think I made up for it in silly scooter riding haha
Also holy crap. I was not expecting the amount of people who recognized me! someone even gave me a huge box of strawberries!!! (I love you) As someone who struggled for a playmate or even someone to talk to as a kid, it fills me with warm fuzzies and brings me to tears to have people so interested in talking to me and saying how much they love my work. Thank you guys so much, you bring me motivation!
By the end of the con, I was so worn out and pooped I couldnt even breathe in my suit. Also leaving the hotel was a nightmare and my butt hurt real bad from sitting so much on the car ride home, BUT the con was so incredible, every bit of frustration was worth it. Also I am pretty sure all I ate was cheese balls and cheeseburgers.
After this experience, I am definitely planning on going to as many cons as my income will allow! I want to meet so many more people and maybe I will get an artist table in the future!
There are so many more things I want to say but this journal is long enough already.
Anyways, I got another con this weekend so time to give Rika a wash and get Foxy together!
and also catch up on homework, bleh.

First off, I plan to make a new set of outdoor paws. IDK if the fur will arrive in time (i havent ordered it yet and i am too afraid to look and see how long itll take to get here) BUT hopefully I will get it soon.
I NEED NEW BADGES! No I can't afford to buy a million new badges, but I will be making some for myself (twitter, QR code, Vine, basically social media badge) and I will even offer these for trade. You make me a twitter badge, I make you a Twitter badge!****
I have cosplays! I have found some of my outfits/cosplays fit well with my fursuit. So expect Rika to be festive!

I haven't been feeling very well lately. I know everyone is tired of journals like this from people, but I just think you guys need to know whats up if you want to contact me.
It just feels like everything is moving too fast and I am stuck several days behind everyone else. Before I know it, I am really behind on something and I have to play catch up, which only sets me more behind on other things. Then I just become too overwhelmed and get nothing done. I have gotten to the point where I am too drained to even want to do anything, and the anxiety is eating away at me emotionally.
I have attempted to do commissions to help keep my spirits up and to help pay for cons that keep me happy, but what seems like a few days for me has turned into a few weeks and people are still waiting for their badges. I have been waiting for some materials to come in to finish the badges, and I feel awful, so I promise those will be sent out asap.
I realize that I cannot do commissions like this anymore. At least not for a while. I will still be open for commissions, but only if the buyer is willing to wait some time. I will make some premade things that I can just sell off at any time.
I am really sorry about this guys. I just cant keep up with everything. So if you message me on anything and I don't respond for a while, don't get upset. Sometimes I just can;t even keep up with a conversation.
I am not going to go into anymore detail here. It is not really stuff that I want to talk about, but I still felt you guys should know how my mind is working right now.

Update and new phone and stuff

How was your Christmas/New Year's?
Mine had its good and bad moments~
But I got a new phone! A smarty phone with a fruit on it. I feel like I am from the past because I am so bad at using it.
Anyways, its super awesome and a lot faster than my computer with checking basically anything but FA! go figure.
So, since I can check fb,twitter, email, and almost everything on my phone, I hardly use my computer. And FA is on my computer.
BASICALLY WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY: I will be on FA like once a day. So my involvement there in terms of replying and checking stuff will decrease. So if you note me and i don't respond in 20 seconds, don't get mad. I should just disable notes because I always forget to check them anyways..but thats a problem for a different time.
Yesterday In the mail I got a really cool package. In it was my brandy new tail and sockpaws for Rika! made by the lovely myriddle4u!! Pictures will come as soon as I get Rika back to school.
Speaking of school, it starts next week and I am so not ready. I have 2 surprise suits coming along, which is cool.
But anyways, I have been feeling increasingly depressed lately, but last semester of school is bound to bring a lot of stress and all that fun stuff. Hell school hasn't even started and I already have started crying from the stress! whoopie!

Yesterday In the mail I got a really cool package. In it was my brandy new tail and sockpaws for Rika! made by the lovely myriddle4u!! Pictures will come as soon as I get Rika back to school.
Speaking of school, it starts next week and I am so not ready. I have 2 surprise suits coming along, which is cool.
But anyways, I have been feeling increasingly depressed lately, but last semester of school is bound to bring a lot of stress and all that fun stuff. Hell school hasn't even started and I already have started crying from the stress! whoopie!

General | Posted 11 years agoFirst off, I just want to say that I am super glad that all my friends over at MFF are okay and that those are the hospital are making a full recovery! I can't imagine how frightening that may have been. If it was intentional, I hope that justice is served! But my love and hugs go out to all of you, and I hope you are having a wonderful time regardless!

Friday at my art show, a few furs showed because RC was awesome enough to make it known to other Pittsfurghs!
I got to show off my art (which is mainly focused on the fur community) and hang out with awesome animal people and suit around as an adorable Deerfox xp
On Saturday, Swift Fox invited me to join in on the Wampum Christmas Parade! Even though it rained the entire time, I had a blast and would totally be up for it next year! The kids loved the suits and were impressed by my furscooting abilities ;p
I also got to ask Santa for a squeaky toy and a bone!

It has been really stressful and finding out about the cons just kinda, drove me over the edge.
I have had friend issues in the past and it kinda brought that back to the surface.

So I have been wanting to go to MFF for a while now. I had planned on going when I first heard about it, but due to not being close enough friends with anyone, I didn't have a ride/room. Then those options may have opened up, but then I found out that a school event I need to attend is happening the 5th. So no go. I thought about just driving down friday night and spending Sunday there, but I can't drive that far and it is too big a favor to ask.
So, Ill be there in spirit I guess. Maybe Ill make some badges or something.
Tekko
2015 will be the first time since 2007 that I will not be able to attend my local anime con. I am not a huge fan of anime, but I have a lot of friends that go and I also met a lot of awesome local furs there. It is tradition and something I look forward to every year. This year however, it overlaps with my school's carnival. Another school event I must attend. I was hoping to bring friends to it, but everyone will be at Tekko.
AC
This year's AC I was only able to attend one day due to my family's vacation. Next year, if all goes well, I hope to get a job. Due to me needing a job in animation or something along those lines, I will most likely need to move out of Pittsburgh. Which means AC is out. if I don't get a job, chances are I wont have enough money for AC.
Basically, I feel like I just started finding my place, and now life is kicking me out of it. I have always felt like I was never a part of anything, like I was always second best, or a replacement. The one people only ask if someone else can't do it. All through middle school/high school, I watched my friends have fun but was almost always left out. As if there was a wall between us all the time. I don't have money to go to things, nor do I feel close enough with anyone to ask if I can tag along.
I feel really upset right now, and don't really feel like talking about it. I just really needed to let this out and let you guys know that I may make some gift mff badges for people, and that I am going to get off FA.

I wanted to try an art game. Kinda like a secret santa, but with a twist.
heres how it works (its kinda complicated, so pay CLOSE attention!):
I will have a list of the participants and assign each of them to someone else. lets say theres a list of names:
Rika
bryar
segno
rhyno
each person would send the next person a picture of a character along with the description of the above persons character.
so for example:
Rika will send a character (char1), that she made up, to bryar. bryar will then send a WRITTEN description of char1 to segno, who would then have to draw the character based on bryar's description and see how close she gets to the actual character. Along with char1, rika will ALSO send bryar the WRITTEN description of Rhyno's character, who then bryar would have to draw and so on.
make sense?
This is a little thing that has been in my mind for a while.
if there is any interest i will go forward with it.
note that great artistic skill is NOT required! the game is supposed to be a fun challenge of description and trying to draw based on words.
spreading the news would also be cool!
note on inactivity:

I was having a particularly bad day which involved me breaking down to the point where I couldn't breathe while I was working on a commission. I think Commissions have been giving me too much stress lately so I am going to
STOP ALL COMMISSIONS. I will finish what I have, but then they are done. for a while.

Sometimes I may do something small When I am in a super drawing mood and set up PWYW commissions.

I really need the money, but I just can't handle the responsibility of commissions right now. Not with the condition I am in.
That being said, I could use some advice.
I am trying SO HARD to focus on my homework, but I just can't. I can't focus on my work and I put it off until I NEED to do it, and then I still have no motivation. I get anxious when I am given my work, so I do something to make me feel better. (watch a show, hang out with my guy, go suiting, go to furmeets) Now these stress relievers work wonders and make me love life again, but only while they are going on. Then I look at my work and realize I have only wasted away more time. I could just stop doing all these things, and be an antisocial shut in who only does work and gets super anxious, or I can continue them and be super anxious. I just don't know what to do. I have tried counseling, but that felt like a waste of time. I have been skipping classes and bumming around because I feel I just can't do my work.
There are also so many art projects that I really want to do, but as soon as I start to work on them, I forget every detail, lose my focus, and go back into panic mode.
I am turning to you guys because I feel like this is too stupid a reason to take to my teachers. I'll get told to "balance my responsibilities" or "go to counseling" or "take a semester off" but all these things are not as easy as they may seem. I think I just need a little guidance.
Any advice is appreciated.

I will determine if the contest will happen or not by...lets say wednesday.
so here goes.
The Contest:
Draw at least 2 or more of my characters interacting in some way!
Could be the couple (Rika x Bryar)
The best friends (Rika x Rhyno)
The ones that hate each other (Juicebox x everyone)
Or any combination you can think of!

see if you can figure out who is what! (if you do, use this to your advantage!)
The Rules:
1. absolutely NO FETISH art or PORN or NUDITY is allowed in this contest!

this contest is judged on creativity and what you can come up with. this means you need to actually read about my characters! (not a long read i swear! little bios on the ref sheets)
3. More than one entry is allowed! can't get all your ideas down in one picture? why not two?
4. please be kind to the other contestants. no rudeness or making fun of the other artists. also, don't be upset if you don't win!
heres the fun part..the prizes!
First place!
-one badge of your choice laminated and mailed to you
-simple digital picture
-colored and shaded sketch
Second place!
-derpy badge done digitally (not mailed)
-digital doodle pic
-colored (not shaded) sketch
if i get more than 5 people, then I will have a 3rd place!
-derpy badge done digitally (not mailed)
-choice of: digital doodle OR simple colored sketch
ALSO everyone who enters will get a little simple sketch for FREE*
