A Week of Doing Stuff, I Swear!
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I know that I said I was going to upload a review, and also some stories and stuff. I know I said that. And I really meant to do it, I really did. But then, life interfered in the form of a job (that I'm grateful to have) and a couple of obligations (that I'm happy to fulfill). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to write everything I want to.
So, I'm going to be posting another installment of Paradise on Tuesday. Right now I'm three hours from home, so my writing is pretty much limited to this journal.
Now, I'm going to run outside and do yard work with a friend's family, then spend the entire car ride back talking about inconsequential stuff, and then, finally, spend the rest of the day playing D&D.
I wonder why I haven't got stuff done this week ^_^

Baltimore, Reviews, and Camp NaNoWriMo
General | Posted 13 years agoFirst, I just want to say that Baltimore, so far, is amazing. We just drove several hours to get here from the Midwest. The occasion is a friend's wedding. That's later today. So far, I've had delicious pizza, fantastic company, and a more restful night's sleep than I've managed for the past month or so. There were some storms last night, and the people with whom we are staying said that kind of thing doesn't usually happen; apparently, we brought our bad weather all the way across the country from the Midwest. You're welcome, Maryland. Seriously, though, I woke up this morning to sunshine and birds instead of the power plant screeching one block away from my apartment back home. I just want to live here for a while.
On part of my ridiculously long car ride up here, I finished two books and got about halfway through Kevin Frane's The Seventh Chakra, and it got me thinking. What would people think of weekly novel reviews? I've already got a couple to work on, and there's no reason I would have to keep the reading furry since it's not submissions. I'm always looking for things to read, so I figure this is a good way to share what I've found. So: look forward to that, starting sometime this week. Just as soon as I can convince myself to stop enjoying Baltimore so much.
And finally, who else is doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month?

Good week, now on to some shooting and writing
General | Posted 13 years agoI had a stressful week that ended on a very good note: The Avengers. I just saw that, and it was magnificent. A popcorn movie for sure, but perfect anyway. And I watched Cabin in the Woods for the second time this past Sunday, so again, things could definitely be worse.
Saturday it's time to play with fancy film equipment.
Re: writing, I have something science-fiction-y in the works. It's gonna be serialized for easy updates. I need to work on improving the reach of what I publish here and over on Sofurry, so any ideas on how to spread the word once it gets posted would be appreciated.

Just browsing
General | Posted 14 years agoI figure like maybe I should just resign myself to the fact that I'm going to browse exponentially more than I actually contribute. Looking through things here on FA, I sometimes forget that everybody in the "community" doesn't necessarily draw or write or whatever, so it's a little depressing to see all of that and not be contributing original art of some kind. Maybe I will someday.
Also, I don't know why I'm posting this. Like 2 people are ever going to see it. Hooray for self-awareness!
