Going down to Florida from the 30th - 6th!
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! Just a general update that I'm going to be helping my grandparents drive down the Florida starting on the 30th! We're expecting to reach our destination on the 1st (we're coming from Minnesota), and then I'll be staying with them a few days before flying back up on the 6th. ^-^ (So to put it simply, I'm going to be gone from tomorrow until the following Tuesday)
I'll have internet so if anyone needs to get a hold of me you know what to do. I've also been posting random current events updates to my twitter to anyone who may be interested. Here's the link if that's your thing: https://twitter.com/Wooperworks
Commission progress: really good lately! I've got all my MFF take home commissions done except for one (I mailed them out today), and a HUGE animation I've been working on is getting pretty close to finished too. :O I think after another month, maybe two I should be all caught up, yay :3 Also, I'm going to make a more official journal about this later, but I'm going to be a dealer at FurSquared this year! Hell yes! I'll be making some pretty cute prints for that once I get back, so you all have that to look forward to.
Anyway, that's about it for now! I'm looking forward to the warm weather and beach time :D

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Now accepting NSFW commissions!
Posted 7 years agoHey all my wooperwarriors, YES IT'S TRUE! I'm pleased to announce the official launch of my NSFW account, Yntimus! :D
What sort of account is Yntimus? Well I'm glad you asked! Yntimus will stress meaningful, tasteful artwork involving adult subject matter. It's a collaborative effort between me and Tarepyn, an old friend and artist I've worked with many times but never actually collaborated with until now.
Will your NSFW art be posted to both Rikkoshaye and Yntimus? NO! My main focus as an artist has and will continue to be for all ages; all art posted to Rikkoshaye will continue to be "work appropriate." (Okay, and a little teasing here or there, so sue me) ;P
What kinds of NSFW content do you draw? Basically anything that treats adult subjects with respect and satisfies my personal values. Each commission request is taken on a case-by-case basis, so please ask! Ideas that are tasteful, beautiful, and/or tenderhearted are especially welcome.
Is there anything you won't draw? Yntimus provides a space to express content that's too difficult for all ages, but there will be things I won't draw since it will not be used to compromise my personal standards. But, please ask! Each commission will be treated like a special relationship and, as I said above, anything tasteful and tenderhearted will generally be an automatic 'yes!' Anything straight, monogomous, or not involving direct sexual contact (such as sexy nudes!) are also perfectly okay and comfortable subject matters. But, don't be afraid to run any ideas past me! This is in no way a comprehensive list of my interests.
Do you have any examples? Of course! See Yntimus' current gallery here: https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/yntimus/
This sounds great! How much do you charge? Thank you for your interest! You can check out Yntimus' price sheet here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/26155766/
Why does Yntimus charge more than your normal account? 1.) My all-ages art is what I prefer to spend my time on, and higher NSFW prices reflect this. 2.) Every artist has the right to request higher profits for their time whenever they decide, particularly when a kind of art is in higher demand or, again, not their primary interest, and commissioners decide if they're willing to pay. 3.) Since each Yntimus commission will be treated like a special relationship with extra care, attention, and respect provided for all involved, a higher price compensates that time and effort. 4.) I'm wholly expecting Yntimus pieces to be more complicated and of higher quality since each will be a collaboration.
How the heck do I pronounce Yntimus? In-tuh-mus (you're welcome)
As a launch special, I'm offering HALF-OFF adult edits on any previously completed ref sheets through the end of February! Contact me for an exact quote, but for example:
+$15 to add NSFW details to an already existing pose, +$20 for a new NSFW detail
AND, 70% off the normal Yntimus price for converting an already completed image to NSFW (please note removing clothes may be extra)
Any other questions? Great! Please note me or ask below. This is an exciting day that has been in the works for quite a while now, so I hope you all are excited too!

Looking for a ride to MFF! (from MN)
Posted 8 years agoHey all! I'm currently looking for a ride to MFF this year; I live in MN and have a room already, so all I need is the ride there and back. Preferred dates would be Thurs - Mon if possible, and I have gas money! Comment, note, or poke me on telegram (@Wooper) if you have some space in your vehicle and we can work out the details. Thanks!
Working on a large private project
Posted 8 years agoHey all, I wanted to put out a general heads up that I've been doing a lot of private work for a individual client on and off for the last few months. I'm balancing it with normal commissions, but I have nothing to show for my time spent since its all private and can't be posted. I figured I should give a general shout-out since I expect the project to continue for quite some time.
The plans at the moment are to work on my normal queue until MFF, with maybe a 3-day stretch on this private project if I can sneak it in. Speaking of which, I'll be opening for MFF preorders soon too so keep your eyes open for that.
Anyway, if anyone has any questions or anything drop me a line anytime - I'm happy to chat. :3

Summer job ending this week!
Posted 8 years agoI'm not sure if I talked about it much this year, but I've been selling baked goods at the local farmers market again this summer. The final day is this thursday! I figured it'd be good to give a heads up, since after that I'll be returning to my normal art work week. On the plus side, I was able to buy a whole set of new copics with the extra income and I've started saving for a new drawing tablet. The one I have right now is a Cintiq 12wx, which I bought in 2012 and has served me well. But, it's not HD and the colors are unfortunately a bit dim (that's just the way the 12wx's are, nothing wrong with the actual tablet) so I think it's time to upgrade.
I'll also be attending Aquatifur in less than two weeks! Its a new con in Wisconsin Dells and I'm looking forward to it. I hope to do lots of waterpark things XD Anyway, I'll be making another journal in a day or two about preordering badges for that if any of you are interested.
For now I'm going to work on getting out as many commissions as I can before the convention. Goodbye sleep! Hello art! I hope XD How have you guys all been?

Off to Furry Migration!
Posted 8 years agoTomorrow is the start of Furry Migration, woo! I'll be in the artist alley selling badges, artworks, custom keychains and buttons, as well as a limited number of prints and other things all weekend. Please come say hi if you'll be there! And for everyone else I hope you have a good weekend. ^-^
My Missouri eclipse trip!
Posted 8 years agoSo I just got back from my mini roadtrip down to Missouri for the solar eclipse! I drove with two friends of mine and met up with four others, so we had a total group of seven of us all down there together. :D We were all coming from Minnesota so it was about an 8 hour drive; my particular group decided to dispersal camp, and we successfully found a little spot in the Mark Twain national forest, which literally is like all farmland with some wild bits and a little grassy spot for camping. Not what I'm used to for national parks, maybe it's all Missouri really has for nature XD
ANYWAY, for the eclipse itself we drove to a tiny town called Huntsdale! It was right on the exact center path for the eclipse, and there was maybe 200-300 other people there. The town even put up a big tent and some portapotties, and had drinks you could buy - pretty awesome, I didn't expect that at all. The cloud cover was hazy, so think like a sheet of thin cloud with little patches of blue - don't worry, the sun was so bright it was easy to see the eclipse happening with the special glasses we had to wear.
What surprised me the most was how BRIGHT the sun was. Even with only a tiny sliver remaining, you couldn't look directly at it and you certainly couldn't see the moon in front of it. Everything had a hazy low light look, think like when a big storm is coming and it's blocking the sun. But then, as we were mere minutes from the height of the eclipse, a big fat puffy cloud BLEW IN FRONT OF THE SUN! We couldn't see it at all! As the sun eclipsed behind the cloud darkness came down over the whole area and it was so cool, the clouds were dark above us and it looked as if there was a sunset in every direction - really beautiful. I was hoping to see stars, but the clouds + it not being pitch black meant we couldn't see anything.
But, all that said, I was bummed! We couldn't see the actual eclipse at all! And then...
A BREAK IN THE CLOUDS! XD I heard people maybe a football field down the grass start cheering, and we knew it was coming - suddenly the eclipse appeared as clear as could be! It had the ring around it and everything, and we got to see it for a minute or so before the sun broke through the side again. Talk about the biggest depression and elation switch ever, I felt very lucky to have been able to see it after all that.
So yep, I'm home now. ^-^ We drove back immediately afterwards, and wow I never thought I'd be in stop-and-go traffic on an interstate highway at 10pm at night ON A MONDAY, but that happened. Lots of MN people must have came down, since we were like a giant mass caravan on the way back, which was cool - but it turned an 8hr drive into an 10hr+ one. Lets just say I slept super good last night, heh. I didn't get any good pics myself but some of my group members did, so I'm hoping they'll share. Otherwise yeah, totally worth the time and money... time to start planning for the next one in 2024 :D
Did any of you guys go see the eclipse? I think a lot of people traveled for it, since I kept talking about it to random people before I left and they'd chime in saying they were going too. I'm curious to hear your guys' experiences if you did. :3

Home again :)
Posted 8 years agoAs the title says, I got home safe yesterday afternoon from my vacation. ^-^ If you didn't see the last journal, my mom and I road-tripped to South Dakota for a week. I got to see the badlands, our campsite was right in the middle of the black hills, we saw wild buffalo and mount rushmore and even took a dip into Wyoming to see devils tower!
There's a lot of other things we did too, but the nature stuff was my favorite. (I took all those pics myself.) Now I'm just going to unpack, get stuff in order, and it's back to work for me. ^-^

Traditional paintings finished! And vacation :D
Posted 8 years agoHey wooperwarriors! This is my new term for my followers since "guys" is too boring. XD
Anyway, I had two long overdue traditional painting commissions that I finally buckled down and finished this week. They were for a relative of her two dogs, I'll probably share them once I get time to upload the images. What prompted me to finish them finally though was... I'm currently on vacation! :D I'm going on my first road trip ever with my mom to South Dakota and I wanted to get them done before I left. I'm actually typing this on my phone in a camper, heh.
Anyway, I'll be back this upcoming Friday and then it'll be back to my regularly scheduled art program. I was realizing today that it's weird those paintings are finally finished, I had them outstanding for so long that feeling bad that they weren't done has become a habit. Maybe that'll lift once the images are delivered this Saturday. :O
But that's a tangent. I'm looking forward to seeing the sights and relaxing, since I've been so busy for so many months now. I will have internet the whole time, so if you want to get ahold of me feel free. Otherwise, see you all in a week with more art :3

15% off COMMISSION SALE! [CLOSED]
Posted 8 years agoHey guys! I'm a little short on bills this month, AND my commission queue is nearly EMPTY! So, I've decided to have a 15% off commission sale. ^-^ I'm going to run it for a few days to maybe a week; basically until I feel like I have enough work. Commission sales are pretty rare for me, so if you've been sitting on an idea I'd recommend snagging it now. :3
You can see all the commission styles I offer here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18952458/
And if you're interested, just note/email me with your idea and mention this journal to get the deal. :)
Thanks guys! If you have any questions please ask. I may have some other fun stuff up this week, like little adopts and things. We'll see how everything pans out. :3

Does anyone have a toyhouse invite code?
Posted 8 years agoI'm just curious if anyone has a code laying around somewhere. I honestly just want to buy my way in with a premium membership but I can't find it anywhere. My best guess is you have to be a member before you can toss money at them? Or they got rid of the feature altogether, I dunno.
Anyway, let me know! And have a good weekend too okay? :3

Back from Detour!
Posted 8 years agoHey all! I'm back from anime detour and really had a great time. I met a lot of people (A LOT of furries!) and sold a lot of Pokemon art, woo! I'd for sure go again, probably as a normal attendee even - which I might do next year if that sweet sweet money doesn't convince me to go back to the artist alley. XD I also roomed with actual longtime friends, and had a lot of local friends who went, which made the whole experience doubly awesome. Everyone made great roommates AND our room was like, extra big! What! Hell yeah! Is it next year yet!?
So yeah! I don't have any other conventions until maybe July or August, so back to normal work now. Remember you can see this month's commission plans on this handy dandy calendar of mine, so far I'm on schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calenda.....merica/Chicago Please note that I've updated my plans based upon what I got done before detour and what I took home from detour (spoilers: I got all my physical commissions done while I was there, woot!)
And today I'm just resting and relaxing. I slept for 10 hours and probably would have kept going if my roommate hadn't woken me up. I also bought two tiny cute plushies as a reward for myself, a candycorn meowchi and a croconana: http://imgur.com/TaLp1Fd The meowchi is from a place called tasty peach studios and the croconana is from Sorbet Jungle, so feel free to check them out if you want one yourself.
Here was my booth for the curious: http://imgur.com/6dtLkWi
Also... just saying, apparently there is a Pokecon in Minnesota. WTF, guess where I'm probably selling next. :P Anyway, easily the best con I've been to yet. I want to go back right now. :D

Posted 8 years agoClaimed by Redhunter337! Thank you! <3
Hey guys! I need a final painterly commission example for my upcoming NSFW account launch. (yes, it's really happening!) This commission will be discounted from my normal rates by quite a bit, so if you've ever wanted something sexy from me now is the time to grab it. :3
$120 - 1 character + free background (Normally $180)
Add an additional character for +$80 (so the total price would be $200, discounted from $300)
If you want more than 2 characters talk to me privately please!
The final art will be done in this style:

And here are some of my NSFW examples: https://trello.com/b/jGAikTTF/commissions
Comment or note to claim! And if you have any questions please ask ^-^ Thank you!

<Emerges from some sort of whirlwind>
Posted 8 years ago<flops over> So... the "few days" of Pokemon personal art is COMPLETE! <hair is disheveled and she looks as if she hasn't bathed in days> Everything is done, the prints and supplies are on their way, the only thing I have left is to run to office max tomorrow to print some color copies and pick up my business cards. <flops about and looks woozy>
Anyway! So! This past month has been crazy! In an attempt to organize my life I made a little calendar with all my commission plans for April. XD If you're curious at all check it out. I'm assuming things won't go 100% to plan but I think it's a good estimate: https://calendar.google.com/calenda.....merica/Chicago
Anyway... yep. I'm going to go sleep now. XD <curls up and the floor and looks exhausted>

Taking the next few days to do some personal art
Posted 8 years agoHi again everyone. I have another convention coming up, my first non-furry one in fact! It's Anime Detour in Minneapolis and I'm having a Pokemon themed table. Anyway, I need to make two new pieces for it, so I'm going to be taking the next few days to make said art. (+some button designs) I'll be posting the new stuff over the next few days so if you like Pokemon keep your eyes open for that. ^-^
Commission wise I just got done with a huge reference pic (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22979086/) and am working on two more joint commissions, one of which is a huge 6-character image. So not a whole lot of uploads, just a lot of behind the scenes work at the moment. If you ever want to see what I'm up to please check out my work queue: https://trello.com/b/C7hYTEd1/commissions
Hope you all have a fabulous week and I'll talk to you again soon ^-^

Back from FurSquared!
Posted 8 years agoHi everyone! Just a general update for you all, I'm back from Fursquared and had a great time. I arrived back on Monday and took Tuesday to relax, and now today I'm taking care of odds and ends and getting back to work. I met a lot of cool people who I want to link, but I added them all on telegram and have no idea what their FAs are. :P
My roomies who were all great:
and Kamon the Skunk, whose FA I don't know.
I took 24 orders this time! :O I finished 15 there and have ~4 that I couldn't have finished at the con, so only 5 take-homes is pretty good. They should all be finished and out the door in about a week's time, and then it's prep for Anime Detour + some old commission work I NEED to get out the door. I also had someone donate to my business! :O A special thank you to that person, who is basically making it possible for me to invest in a button or sticker maker (not sure which I want more yet).
Anyway, so up back to work for me. My next furry con MAY be Anthrocon, but I'll have to see how the funds work out for the plane ticket and all that. I really hope I can go!

FurSquared ^-^
Posted 8 years agoSo tomorrow's the day I head out to FurSquared! I'm all packed up and ready to go (early for once, who would have guessed that one). I'm going to be trying to get into the aritst alley all three days, so hopefully it'll be a weekend of lots of work. If anyone on my watch list is going be sure to stop by and say hello! I'll have internet access so I should be available to answer notes and emails and stuff - I have a new phone now so I can actually talk with people even if I don't have wifi. What is this crazy world we live in.
Anyway, hope you all have a good weekend and I'll be back again on Sunday/Monday. ^-^

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and more
Posted 8 years agoHey all, I use multiple social network sites to share different stuff than I do at my art galleries. It's generally all art related so I figured I should refresh everyone's memories. :3 Strangely there isn't a huge amount of overlap between these so following multiple shouldn't get spammy. :D
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rikkoshaye/
My most random social network site. I have unique pics of art in progress mixed with cute pet pics.
Twitter: https://twitter.com/Wooperworks
I have a lot of life updates on here. So, if I haven't worked on art in a few days I'll usually talk about it on here, or else if I find a neat art tutorial/video/inspiration I'll share it here.
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Wooperworks
I share art progress here (especially for traditional art), as well as convention pics. I also share some finished art, usually a few days earlier than my art sites.
Tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/wooperworks
I'm still trying to get this site off the ground. I don't like tumblr personally so for now it just gets my favorite stuff.
