As far as my health goes-I've been doing pretty good. Still numbness in my hands, which could resolve in a few weeks to months or even possibly be permanent, but Ive gotten used to it and its not affecting my life as much as you'd think. I had to stop the immunosuppressants because my insurance wont cover it unless I try a cheaper kind first. So I'm just waiting for them to approve that and get it in hand. Its known to have worse side effects than the ones my doc wants me to take, so I'm a bit worried about that. But I had zero reaction to the good one and they're in the same family of drugs so maybe that means it'll be mild.

Hi everyone. I hate asking for help because so many of you donated after the fire but I dont know what else to do right now.
For those who dont know- I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in February. Ive been fighting with my insurance to cover the treatments and meds that I need. Ive spent several hundred already on appts and an MRI. I was finally able to get my insurance to approve a steroid infusion. Unfortunately I got a bill for that for $450 AFTER insurance and Im struggling with that.
I also just went to the dentist, I had to get 4 fillings of which I was expecting a $120 copay but my insurance didnt cover as much as I thought. I paid $520 today for all 4 fillings. The doctor also told me I need to get a crown on one of my teeth. They gave me a quote of $1445 AFTER insurance.
I lost it and starting crying uncontrollably, it was very embarrassing
Anyway thats the one my doctor wants me to get but they also have one for half that, at $750. Either way I CANNOT afford these bills.
I have to pay almost $1k in taxes next month as well. Its my responsibility to pay that so I wont be asking for any help towards that but it will wipe out most of my bank account. I dont even have enough on my credit card to cover the dental bills.
Im also unable to take on much more work, as much as I wish I could earn every penny. I will do what I can.

Other than the looming bills I'm feeling okay. I took my first dose of immunosuppressants for my MS last night. I have been very afraid of how the side effects would hit me but I was totally fine! I just took my morning dose and still fine. I have a lot of hope that I can keep working as normal! I do have to double the dosage starting next monday so I will see if that is still okay.
If I'm still doing alright I'll be doing a big ych sale! Thank you everyone for your kind words and patience with me, and for donating or sharing my story.

Tomorrow I will take the first dose of the immunosuppressants to treat my MS. Im afraid of the immediate side effects :(

Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop in for a quick update
I'm FINALLY scheduled for a steroid infusion tomorrow. Cant believe it took 20 days to fight with my insurance to get it. So relieved they told me its only a $40 copay. i have no idea how it will affect me or for how long so I'm not sure what the rest of the week will look like. My doctor is still working with my insurance to cover the pills he wants me to take. But I have to wait 2 weeks to start those anyways so hopefully will have it figured out by then.
I haven't been feeling great emotionally, just kinda dealing with what this MS diagnosis means. I spent a lot of days just laying in my bed. Im feeling better now that something is happening, im not just waiting nervously and impatiently. I hope I dont get many side effects from the steroids and that they improve my symptoms.

As far as work goes, I took a few days off to process but I'm still in a good place on my queue. Im getting as much as I can done before tomorrow in case I need a few more days off for side effects.
My ychs are currently open, I'm leaving the turnaround time open though because I really dont know how these meds will affect me. I will always deliver, or refund if necessary, no matter the circumstances so don't be alarmed if the wait time is inflated. According to my TOS anyone can ask for a refund after the 2 month mark if it gets that long and youre tired of waiting.

Also some big news! I haven't opened for custom comms in a very long time because my mental health has made it hard to visualize someone else's idea. However I've decided to try a slot or 2 of Artistic Liberty comms! I've made a google form where anyone interested can post their ref and prompt and I will choose which I feel able to do. Prompts must include 2-5 descriptive words for theme. Vague clothing/prop ideas welcome. Examples include: "playful, dinosaur costume, sitting" or "shy, dress, fox plushie" or "happy, pacifier, pink shirt, unicorn theme"

Hi friends. Well, I was officially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I have several lesions on my brain including some active ones. I will be given a steroid infusion to calm those down and then will start a twice a day medication, luckily in pill form.
The active lesions are likely causing the numbness still in my hands so I have hope that will go away after the steroids.
With the medication it will prevent some relapses and slow disability progression. So far I have no lasting effects besides what the active lesions are causing.
Ive been told that heat will be my worst enemy, that any symptoms will be worse if Im overheating. Im worried about that with fursuiting but theres plenty of cooling methods fursuiters use.
I am more afraid of the side effects of the medications and making sure my insurance will approve them.

Otherwise life is normal. Im on track with my queue and my psych meds are working fine. Ill keep everyone updated if theres any changes or symptoms affecting my ability to work.

I got the MRI of my brain done yesterday. It was a bit scary but only 15 minutes so I got through. I'm hoping to hear back from my doctor in a few days. Im nervous. but want to know asap.

I'm also like 30% through my February list already and its only the 3rd. That feels great and I'm guessing that means I'll be getting to the March list around mid-february instead. I have hope that my health will be stable enough for a while and I can get back to my normal pace.

Hi everyone! A little update on the MRI situation.
My doctor called this morning to tell me the mri of the brain will be covered by my insurance but the other 2 were still denied. He told me to just get the brain and if he thinks the other 2 are necessary after he sees that one he will fight with the insurance again. My appointment is on friday
I *think* my copay is $100 with insurance, if I read the document right, so that's a huge relief. I'll be reaching out to the 3 people who donated to give them something in return<3
I also got the blood work results back and have tested positive for an autoimmune disease. further testing(the mri) is needed to determine which. I'm still betting on MS.

As far as work goes, I'm exactly on schedule! Doing the very last of January arts today and will be ready to jump into February's this weekend. I'm hoping I can go through february's quicker than anticipated and can get some of the March ones done ahead of time.

Its been 10 years since I started doing art full time. Seeing my progress is INSANE. I started with $5 traditional sketches and looking back at those is painful because of how bad they are lol

This also comes at a time where my health is in question, I'm getting an MRI next week to determine if I have Multiple Sclerosis. If I do, working in larger quantities may be more difficult. So the day before I left, I was finally able to see the neurologist after waiting 3 months. I talked to him about my history of these symptoms; numbness and tingling in my legs and hands, double vision, memory issues etc. He was upset that I wasn't sent to him after the double vision especially with having the episode of numbness a few months earlier. I still have some lingering numbness in my fingers.
Anyway.. In his words. "MS is a high probability." He said its not as scary a diagnosis anymore because there are a lot of treatments. But still scary to me :( Ive been scheduled for an MRI for my brain, thoracic, and cervical spine next friday. My insurance will cover the brain but has denied the other 2. For some reason???? My doc is trying to push it through again to get them covered. If they are covered, my copay is $100 each. If the other 2 aren't covered, they are $500 each..
So on Friday I will either have to pay $300 or $1100. Pretty scared about that..

I finally have my appointment with the neurologist on tuesday and then will be leaving on wednesday for the con!

Hey everyone!
Im still dealing with partially numb hands and havent been able to get an appointment with the neurologist before January. Also I was able to go to BLFC last week and have caught some con crud of course. My at home covid tests have been negative but my con roomies clinic test was positive. I cant figure out how to get to a clinic without exposing someone so im just treating it as if I do have covid. I had sore throat, cough, sneeze, congestion and fatigue but those got better quickly. I still have some congestion and cough but overall was getting ready to work!
Then a new symptom hit, my brain is all over the place. I feel like Im on drugs, it feels like my brain is trying to run away and im corraling it back with what little consciousness i have left. Im so incredibly frustrated, I just want to work.
Im going to try and rest through all this and hope it ends soon.
As soon as I can write a coherent business email Ill be contacting all commissioners and offering refunds.
Please be patient with me at this time, I will be getting back to you guys asap and will be offering refunds.

Well its happening again. Started with some bloodwork yesterday, it came back mostly normal. Getting referred to the same neurologist as last year.
Im hoping itll just go away again but also would like to know wtf is happening..

AND my sibling Zack got covid after seeing friends and while I havent caught it yet, its probably unavoidable.
I havent been able to work for a few days mostly because im an emotional wreck worried about my legs but also trying to rest so covid doesnt hit me as hard.

Working with my psychiatrist Ive finally got the right meds for me!
I feel great, but not too great(watching for hypomania), and my focus is awesome.
I finished 5 ychs and worked on 4 more pics on top of those yesterday!
Only side effect ive had so far is a bit of nausea. Was hard to eat dinner last night.

Getting back to work right now :) Excited about how much I can get done.

Ive been on FA for 16 years and I dont plan on leaving. Yeah theres some shit going down, and it may get worse, but as it is I get a lot of interactions and sales through here.

And an update on art:
I still havent got my meds figured out, been calling the doc office many times and theyre doing everything they can.
Ive been able to work a bit though, except my brother is visiting right now, he will be leaving tomorrow so I can jump back in it.

Ive been able to work a bit more than I had been. Im still fighting a depressive episode but at this point I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The more work I get done the better I feel as well.
Ive caught up on April patreon rewards so I wont have any overlap into May. My patreon queue will be much lighter for May due to a lot of people needing to cancel their pledge :(( I'm sad to lose them but I had been quite overwhelmed with the amount of work anyways so it's a bit of a blessing. It also means I can focus on different projects. I'll be doing a lot more 1 slot ychs I think!
I'm excited for the potential use of my time. We'll see if it works out.
I want to thank everyone for their patience with owed work and posting in general. I'll be chugging along as best as I can.

Also I just hit my weight goal of 175lbs! That's 15lbs lost since I started. I'm pretty proud and hope I can keep going from here. The lowest I've been in over 10 years was 173 and that was literally the day of the fire. Obviously everything went up from there.. To hit that again might cause some kind of mental awakening. Moving past the trauma in a way.
