So, I don't expect anyone here to be familiar with my webcomic, (http://www.drunkduck.com/Through_Arcane_Eyes/) Through Arcane Eyes, but here's some news for ya anyways.

TAE has had two different artists. I've had bad luck with things not working out like they ought to, and have simply decided to draw it all myself. It's taken a few months, but I've finally gotten to a point with my art where I can look at it and say that I'd be able to do the story justice.

It's got some religious themes (namely breaking Christian stereotypes), and a bit of M/m and F/f hinting, along of the cast consisting of fallen angels, vampires, Chinese-american girl and a wereskunk, so it's not for everyone... but I tried to make it unique enough that it would appeal to a lot of people.

And no, you didn't see a typo up there. I actually mean a wereskunk.

Mmmkay. Funny story, really. I'm nearly done with my first fursuit, and because I'm limited in distance I can travel locally to just randomly go suiting, I asked the second-highest manager at my Meijer (yes, the one I work at) if it would be okay for me to come in wearing a "costume." He said no. I go to the store manager. He says, "We'd have to pay you."

My first thought was "Damn. There's no way they'll do that." Then Ben tells me that he's actually interested in it, because it has some benefits for Meijer. Bwuh? Say WHAT? So I go over today, and here's the arrangement:

For Halloween and the period of time between when I finish my fursuit and the holiday itself, they're willing to let me get off a lane and go around in fursuit, passing out candy and having fun with the customers. Usually between 4 and 8 or 9 pm. I say that I'm okay with being in suit for that period of time, so long as I get reasonable periods of cool-down in our frigid bathroom stalls and plenty of water. They say "of course." I can wear plainclothes (it is a partial suit, after all) with a Meijer nametag having the character's name on it, or a Meijer workshirt with normal jeans, to show that I am a Meijer employee.

Seriously. I'm getting paid to fursuit. How cool is that? :3

I have some more fabric from my otter tail commission, and I'm planning on buying a bit more. If anyone's interested in tails, I can do simple designs. Also, I'm hoping to use some of that new material to make some hand-sewn plushies.

Would anyone be interested in buying either? Tails would go for $15 plus shipping, and I'll start working on and putting up WIP pics of my first plushie design in the next couple weeks. Once the first one's finished, I'll decide how much they go for. Probably between $10 and $15 plus shipping.

Okay, so I have a crapload of sketches to get uploaded. D: I WILL UPLOAD THEM SOON, I PROMISE. I just have to get my lazy ass off the computer, away from the Doctrine of Labyrinths books (<3!!!), and over to the scanner. But there's just so many sketches, I might just do a mass-dump in one humongo file. Just so you guys can kinda see my overall progress over the last couple of months.

Okay, so maybe this is a big thing for me to do, especially since I really never took a single anatomy class and need to work on things like that myself... but it's for people like me that need all that stuff that I want to make this project for.

Basically, we need a book on furry anatomy. Animal and human anatomy books, while they can be helpful, don't give advice on combining human and animal traits in ways that might be believable. And as for me, since most of my furry characters are of a more human size but are capable of walking on either two or four legs with pretty much equal ease... well, that's a hard challenge to work out on your own.

What I want to do with this project is collect links of tutorials and diagrams of 'furry' anatomy. My own particular interest is in digitigrade anatomy - both completely upright and capable of walking on two and four legs. However, some people might be more interested in how paws look, the differences in tails between species and how it affects posture, and yes, even sexual anatomy.

I'm not sure what the response to this will be. I'm just tired of seeing books on the shelves of a large bookstore that just aren't meeting the needs I have. Maybe, just maybe, some of you out there feel the same. If you decide to help with this project, please post a link in a comment to this journal.
