I admit, when I'm writing my comic, I feel like I have ropes pulling me in 4 different directions:

* One rope going "More TF sequences! More TF!";
* Another rope going "No, talking animals! Post-TF!";
* Yet another going "More character interactions! Friendship! Romance!"
* And another going "Tighten the plot! Tie off the loose ends!"

The first two have been pretty consistent over the years, but the last one has been weighing on me for a while now. Early on, adding new details creates more opportunities for gags and plot threads, but also adds complexity, up to this point where there are three main plots that threaten to overwhelm each other.

Honestly, the main problem is I'm torn in different ideas about what's "good" in a comic. Should I make it funny? Should I make it deep? Should I make it coherent? Should I make it simple?

I'm trying to nail down the backstory, and it keeps slipping away into the cracks. Just when I think I've found a permanent way forward, something happens to make me doubt myself. And I keep thinking, editing, pulling, revising, rewriting, and thinking again.

The next several pages are fairly fixed in what happens... but once I get to, say, #70, I have to make sure everything is settled for the next phase. I have to figure out what story I want to tell, and how I can put more TFs into it...

Once again, getting distracted by internet trivia prevents me from putting more time into these journals. Did you know that the "Nuclear Gandhi" meme, where an integer overflow error on learning Democracy causes the pacifist Gandhi leader in early Civilization games to become the most aggressive warlord ever, never actually happened? That it was just an internet rumor started on TV Tropes?

I started the seal sequence with the last page, and have been working my way forward from the beginning. So, although this next page is 9 out of 10, it is in fact the last page I have to draw. The goal is to have it finished before my vacation starts next Thursday, so I have a comfortable window of time to do that.

I'm currently sitting at 499 followers. I've been thinking about what to do once I hit the milestone, and I think I have an idea.

For my big 500-follower milestone, I will be taking on 2 or 3 TF requests to be drawn on Saturday, June 24th, where I'll be running a day-long stream. These will be one-stage TFs, done in the style of my gryphon or my giraffe pics. Just leave your ideas below -- the ONLY hard rule is that you have to be one of my 500 followers to qualify.

There is no guarantee that I will pick your idea, so be creative! Feel free to share your references or original creations! Tell me things to highlight or emphasize! Tell me your weird triggers or points-of-view! Requests will stay open until June 23rd.
