2 streams today: comic inks, then seal sketch; 9 AM and 3...
General | Posted 2 years agoI have a vacation coming up in about 4 weeks, and I'd love to get my seal sequence posted before then. To facilitate this without sacrificing my time drawing the comic, I'm doing two streams today. First will be in a few minutes after this journal is posted, and will be spent inking the next AFCAH page. After a good mid-day break, I'll be spending the afternoon sketching out another seal picture.

The stream is always pretty quiet. I admit, although I know of people who run a stream, I have no idea if the wholesome communities they've developed are the result of effort and marketing and networking, or merely an organic unplanned offshoot of mutual art appreciation. Maybe it comes naturally to some creators. I don't want to force anything. I just want to keep putting passion into my work, and hopefully others will pick up on it.

Man, that page took longer than expected, even with extra time. I'm more excited by the idea of finishing the whole phase, potentially by the end of the year. I've done 10 pages so far this year, and 15 more to go... I could really make it!
For now I've got another seal picture to do, and boy are me and my husband looking more like seals than ever. It's time to get some fur and ear and teeth changes, at:

Inking continued tonight
General | Posted 2 years agoSo, I'm back home for the summer semester. It still doesn't feel real. This semester has worn me into a pattern of thinking every day is a checklist. Drawing became my home. Now I'm back in a messy house that no longer feels like home, where none of the doors lock and my brother, my "roommate", doesn't give me the same privacy my college roommates did.
I cleaned up another desk and gave myself a little extra floor space. It isn't much, but it gives me room to stand and move around if necessary.
I'll probably schedule in an extra drawing session tomorrow. And maybe some early morning drawing time on Sunday to account for a family get-together that evening. Ah, the joys of a reshuffled life schedule.
Well, that's a good 15-minute journal entry. Drawing now commences at https://picarto.tv/Rimme . Hope no one else minds if I play WW2 and plane investigation videos in the background. What does everyone think about my media choices? Feel free to judge me below!

General | Posted 2 years agoI will try to finish this all up tonight, but it's going to be tough. There's a lot of action poses and dynamic shots, a lot of hands and clothing to draw, and a lot of nuanced expressions to get right. I'm always glad when my comic gives me challenging things to draw.

Sorry, thanks to the religious holiday, I had to cover for one of my TAs and stay behind later than usual. That works out okay, because I need the extra time to cover the rest of inking tomorrow. Mostly going to be refining and inking for another hour.
