Promises shromises - raven TF shade stream in a few minut...
Posted a year agoTo be clear, I had every intention of finishing the entire raven picture in one day.
But then I got impulsive. I couldn't find a good angle for including one raven in a shot with a half-raven man, not in the pose I wanted for them. (My best bet would've been to have had her on the ground below flapping her wings -- which would've made the composition too tall for my liking -- or to put her on a shelf behind him instead of in front -- which I admit I didn't think of.) So I thought, "Hey, instead of using this empty negative space to draw a bedroom, why don't I throw in some interstitial TF panels? It's just what I've always wanted..."
So now I pay the price for my hubris by doing another stream in about 15 minutes. 10:30 ET at https://picarto.tv/Rimme . It should only take about 2 hours to shade everything, and that's on top of the 1.75 hours to sketch, 3.75 hours to ink, and 2.5 hours to color from yesterday. Hopefully I finish before our family dinner...
Oh and commissions are still open, see the header.

Werehamster shading stream!
Posted a year agoPossibly other projects too, since my plan is not to try to be super detailed here, and keep the cel-shading aesthetic. Basically, add in flat highlights and shadows and some extra effects.
I've got that Drowzee fullbody I never finished, I might work on that as well.

I offer not just digital art, but also physical art commissions as well. Just fill out the following form to receive an invoice and start getting art. Comic coloring stream tonight
Posted a year agoI got on late last night, but I somehow managed to finish inking. Tonight I'll be coloring the comic.
I keep thinking: this comic is roughly on par with a comic that gets updated weekly. If I were spending every weekday evening on this comic, I could also manage to post it weekly. But since I want to draw other things besides my comic, it's forced into being a bi-weekly comic at best (when I'm not also getting sick or taking a vacation).
I'm working on opening for commissions soon. More on that later.

Posted a year agoYep, this is going to take two days of inking. There are some pages where I'm more optimistic than others, but this one has a bunch of necessary perspective drawing to do, and lots and lots of humans to ink. With all the pesky facial expressions and hand layouts that go with it.

Comic sketching tonight
Posted a year agoThis one HTD program I just joined... it started earlier this week (even as I was nursing my sore throat), and I'm already getting sketchy vibes from it. Apart from the fact there's way too many people accepted for it, the first week is about spamming social media with links to a newly built personal website in order to "brand" yourself.
I have a hard enough time spamming journals announcing my art links. I don't know if I can devote myself to running a social media campaign for myself as well. In any case I have an actual job interview this Thursday that might work out, and it's in more the traditional vein of doing work and answering personal questions about work habits. Not comfortable, but I'd rather do that than try to go viral.
It's been two weeks now since I did comic stuff, so it's time I got back to it on https://picarto.tv/Rimme at 6 PM ET. See you soon!

I'm taking a vacation this Thursday. I have a couple other drawings that I could maybe work on off-stream, so that I hopefully can post something on Wednesday night. We'll see.

Streaming comic page sketch tonight
Posted a year agoI have 5 days to finish page 3 of the AFCAH intermission. I'm going to start off tonight at 6 PM ET at https://picarto.tv/Rimme . There's basically three characters to focus on, moving through three different backgrounds, though thankfully it's all familiar territory. This page is more of a wind-down from the previous two pages, settling down and giving a bit more context for phase 1.

Posted a year agoAnother difficulty to posting these journals early is that it takes me forever to decide what to draw. I have other things to focus on / distract me / worry about during the day, and TF fun doesn't factor in until it's all done.
That said, I'd like to do another one-sitting drawing tonight, and I'd like to draw a fat dagron TF or two, courtesy of jackthelizard 's ongoing obsession with them. He's rubbing off on me. The more he changes, the more I change with him...

I'll be streaming early today, starting at 4 PM ET and continuing until 7 PM ET, or until I finish inking the page, whichever happens first. (Hopefully the latter.)
Last night was hard on me. Instead of 4 panels inked I got 1.5 panels inked. Instead of inking 6 figures, I only inked 3 (and added a new figure). One of them I'm going to have to tweak a bit as well. But I only have 3 more figures to ink; even with 3 backgrounds to ink, that shouldn't be too hard to do in 3 hours.
Just stay confident. Never let go.
