In the last journal, I informed that I got injuries on the 24th of July, 2024. For the matter worse, they caused me to rheumatism, which was serious enough to cripple me. I have taken medical treatments since the end of July,
but the doctor says that I cannot expect the total recovery.

Then, I was infected with COVID-19 a couple of days ago. It may not be a serious one, but I had 104F (40.2℃) of fever last night. I met a series of misfortunes, but I am still alive. I do not think it can get any worse.

On my way to office this afternoon in Tokyo Time, the weather turned worse very quickly. I was caught in a squall. It often happens in Summer here though, a gust of incredibly strong wind blew me off, then I was smashed onto the street.
I got an injury to my right elbow, and had big damage to the right shoulder, and the right hip joint. I went to see the doctor who told me to have, at least, five days of rest. I am writing this journal with taking several tables of pain killers.
And not knowing why, I am feverish. I will see the doctor tomorrow morning again to have a medical exam to the brain, because I hit the head, too. It is only one good news that I can keep drawing furry arts, despite of those injuries.

Last week, I was infected with some virus, and had my right hip joint was swollen badly enough to force me to walk with a limp. Then I had a crack in my right knee cap. The doctor said to me that an extraordinary
burden to the knee caused to it, and that it would take forty five days to get recovered from it. They still ahce so badly that I cannot take rough sketches for those who have placed a requsted artwork on me. Being humbly sorry for the delay, I am sure to recommnce to draw once the pain is gone.

先週、何らかのウィルスに感染して右の股関節が腫れてしまい、びっこを引きながら歩かなければならなくなったのだが今度はヒザの皿にひびがはいってしまった。医者は過度の重量がかかったのが原因で、全治45日と言っている。今なお非常に痛いのでリクエストされたスケッチさえも描く事ができないでいる。リクエストされた皆様には大変申し訳ないですが、痛みが引いたら直ぐに描く事再開します。

This year, Japan celebrates one hundred years of Japanese animes. H. Hosokawa (1982 – 1973), J. Kouuchi (1886-1970), and S. Kitayama (1888-1945) were said to be the first Japanese creators of anime. They created their own anime in 1917 though, only the work by J. Kouuchi exists today. At that time, cel sheets were so expensive in Japan that those creators made their animes with cutting papers. This is the first Japan-made anime, entitled, “Namakura Gatana” (The blunt Katana):



Who could imagine that Japan would be one of the leading countries of animes in 100 years?

Recently, The "INABA-PETFOOD CO., LTD", one of the largest petfood companiesin Japan began to broadcast three mintues of their cat food product by television. So many fancy cats can be seen on it though, it is unprecedented that the Japanese TV stations decided to broadcast such an advertisement which lasts for three minutes because the Japanese TV industry has a tacit rule that any TV advertisements should have a duration of five, fifteen, and thirty seconds:



I hope those who feel stressful and irritated would alliviate them to see the cats on it.

最近、日本の大手ペットフード会社である『いなばペットフード株式会社』が3分間の自社キャットフード製品のテレビ広告放映を始めた。多くの可愛いネコがその広告で見られるが、日本のテレビ業界には広告は5秒、15秒、30秒でつくられるべきという暗黙の決まりがある中で、この様な長時間の広告を放映した事は前代未聞だと思われる。ストレス、イライラを感じている人々がこのテレビ広告のネコを見て少しでも癒されれば嬉しい事だ。ともあれ、私のジャーナルを読んで下さったかそのテレビ広告を見てくれた皆様、良いお年をお迎え下さい。

I ceased taking requests till farther notice. It maybe tentative, but I lost my interest in them. I have gotten disgusted with some of those who requested being reluctant reuploading my completed requested artwork, or introducing them in less attaractive ways. From now on, I take priority to art trades mainly.

Series of really big earthquake have broken out in the Western part of Japan since April 14th. The numbers of the earthquakes which can be felt have already reached over 470 times.

I cordially appreciate those who cared me enough to send message through the Skype or the Personal Note on the FA to make sure if I was all right. No damages are reported in the Tokyo area, and I am fine although, 41 people were killed in the earthquakes, and the Kumamoto Castle which has over 400 years of history is half broken. Despite of 800 miles (1,200Km) of distance between Tokyo and the stricken area, I could feel the ground shaking in Tokyo when the earthquake struck.

I hereby express my deep condolence over those who were killed, and sorrow for the victims of this natural disaster. I have been glad if those who are interested in Japan could give some aids through The Japanese Red Cross Society.

日本の西部で4月17日から非常に大きな地震が立て続けに起こっている。有感地震の回数はすでに470回を超えた。

この度、スカイプやFAの個人メールを通じて安否を問い合わせてくれた皆様には心から感謝している。東京では被害がでていないので大丈夫だが、41人がこの地震で死亡し、400年以上の歴史を誇る熊本城は半分壊されている。東京と被災地の間には約1,200Kmの距離があるが、かの地震が発生した時、東京でも揺れを感じた。

この地震で犠牲となった人々に深く哀悼の意を表すと同時に、被災された皆様には大変気の毒に思う。若し日本に興味のある方々が日本赤十字社を通じで何らかの協力をして下されば大変ありがたい。

We have had only three sunny days since we are in July in Tokyo, Japan. I feel myself quite stressful because these rainy days have prevented me from having 4 miles run and practicing tennis. It seems to be a bit early for the Season of mosquitos here, a pharmaceutical company in Japan started to air an advertisement on their insect bite reliever on TV.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AND CANADA DAY!

Many furries in the US celebrate the Independence Day, and the Canada Day for the furries in Canada, many Japanese companies pay bonus to their employees around the first week of July in Japan. Everybody should be happy to get a bonus though, we cannot always say that it is all ours because the Summer gift Season also falls this month in Japan. We have to make a budget on those gifts.

According to the recent research on the Summer gifts, it shows that the following gifts please the recipients:

1st: RICE
2nd: COOKING OIL
3rd: DRIED UDON (OR SOMEN) NOODLES
4th: GREEN TEA

The above result well reflect on the Japanese food culture though, what sorts of gift would please you to have?

The lunar new year's day falls today, 19th February this year. Having the new year's day, I consulted a fortune-teller
about how this year would be. He told me that my bad luck would be over, and that I should need an older person or intermediary to proceed something successful. Discriminated by a furry site, I had really a bad year of 2014. Still having
been caught in a too bad mood to draw anything new, I will have to do something to get out of it. In the lunar calendar,
the new year's day is also regarded as the first day of Spring though, it is still cold here. Walking along the street, I saw

Though it seldom snows in Tokyo, we had 14 inches (approx. 35cm) of snow twice in a week. Last Sunday, I had to shovel the snow for a couple of hours, and today, again. Snow which falls in the warm area contains water so much that it is quite heavy. Once the snow piled up, it turns into a heavy white monster. It calls for much of power to remove. Two hours of snow removal were enough to make my arms and legs sore. > <

Not having updated my journal for more than five months, I strated to feel like to write something. Though the life is not always full of wonderful things, I have been on a diet since the commencemnt of this year. Since my weight reached around 185lbs., I have begun to feel something wrong with me.

The medical check which I took last December revealed that. My blood pressure was higher than 180mmHg over 105mmHg, the value of nutral lipid in my blood was over 145mg/dl., the blood-sugar level was 80mg/dl. These values meant that I was exposed to the menace of diabetes, heart and brain diseases.

However the life may suck, I thought it unreasonable to die of or from a disease which I do not need to fall. So I decided to take 1,200Kcal and to have 4 miles run every day. On starting them, I was tormented by incessant hunger. It was also very hard to walk even only half a mile. I was shocked that my body has been reluctant just to walk while I was having a binge.

Hence diet is an abstemious deed, it is so difficult to fight against indolence that it certainly calls for a resolution
and a perseverence. I, however, had no choice but doing so since I had been standing on the edge of lifestyle related diseases.

Three months have passed since I went on a diet. It was no fun to do it although, the last medical check which I took last week brought me the good results. My blood pressure went back to 110mmHg over 65mmHg, and I could reduce my weight by 35lbs.

No one would praise simply because I reduced my weight although, I was a bit pleased with the words of a clerk at Seven-Eleven by which I drop every day.

"Having seen you for these three months, I noticed that your shape　was getting better and better."

It was a moment that my secret effort was rewarded.


5ヶ月以上何も更新していなかったので、そろそろ何か書かなければで思った。生活はいつも愉しい事いっぱいでないが、体重が85Kg程度がなって身体が異変を感じる事始めていた。それで今年初めから減量する事で決心した。

変調の原因は、昨年12月に受けた検診で明らかがなった。血圧は180mmHg　/ 105mmHg以上、中性脂肪は145mg/dlを越え、血糖値は80mg/dlに達していた。これらの数値は、糖尿病、心臓・脳疾患の脅威にさらされていると分かった。

人生がいかにつまらないものであれ、罹る必要無い病気で死ぬは理不尽で思ったので、1日1,200Kcal食事と6Km走る事で決めた。これらを始めて直ぐ絶え間ない空腹にさいなまれた。500m歩く事さえ辛かった。暴飲暴食していた間に自分の体がもはや歩く事さえ嫌がる事にショックを受けた。

減量はストイックな行動だ。従って、怠惰心と闘う事が本当で難しいから決意と忍耐が要る。それでも成人病の危機にある以上これをするしかなかった。

減量初めてから3か月が過ぎた。減量をする事は全く愉しいでないだったが、先週受けた検診で良い結果が出た。血圧は110mmHg / 65mmHgに戻り、17Kg減量する事できた。

これをしたからと言って誰もほめてはくれないだが、毎日立ち寄るセブン―イレブンのある店員の言葉に少し喜んだ。
「この3か月程度見ておりましたが、恰好がどんどん良くなっていますね。」

人知れない努力が報われた一瞬だった。

I am going to visit China for the first time in the next ten days or so. Though it is on business, I am looking forward to having many of delicious Chinese cuisines. In Japan, there is an amusing anecdote that Jesus Chirst did not like Chinese dishes although, it may be true that China is one of the greatest countries which has a very rich food culture. Since I got the order of business trip from the company, imagines of beef, pork, shrimp, squid, garlic sprouts, bamboo-shoots, Chinese straw mushrooms, etc have been looping around in my brain. The only and the biggest problem is I cannot speak Chinese at all. I hope I will find a good translator there.

Je vais payer visite à la Chine pour première fois dans dix jours ou à peu près. C'est pour affaires mais je m'attends d'avoir des cuisines délicieuses chinoieses. Il y a une anecdote que Jésus n'a pas aimé la cuisine chinoise qu'un même c'est vrai que la Chine est un des plus grand pays qui est riche à la culture de nourriture. Depuis que le syndicat m'a demandé d'y visiter pour affiares, les images de boeuf, porc, crevette, calmar, tiges d'ail, pousse de bambou, volvaire asiatiaue, etc apparaissent et disappraissent successivement dans la tête. C'est ie seul mais le plus grand problème que je ne sais pas parler chinois du tout. J'espère un bon traducteur là.

今から10日間程度で、初めて中国に行く事がなる。仕事理由だがたくさんの美味しい中国料理を食べられると期待している。イエス・キリストは中国料理が好きでなかったと言う小咄があるが、中国が世界に冠たる食の大国である事は確かだと思われる。この出張命令を受けてから、牛肉や豚肉、エビ、イカ、タケノコ、草菇などのイメージが脳裏をずっとよぎっている。小さいが深刻な問題で、私は中国語(漢文)を全く話す事ができない。現地で良い通訳に出会う事ができれば良いのだが。

Here starts the very hot Summer. Though I like fine days, that hotness makes me quite much exhausted. It was 95F (35C) yesterday here, and that high temperature makes my back and paws dull and sore. I have already started
to get enervated. We had comparatively huge earthquakes every day in the past those three days in the Sendai area. I wonder how long the hotness
and aftershocks would last.

L’oservatoire météorologique à la province de Tohokou au Japon a annoné ce matin à l’heure japonaise que la Saison pluvieuse est finie dans cette région auhourd’hui. Ça commence l’Été très chaud. J’aime de beaux jours qu’un même, la haûte humidité me fait bien épuisé. Il a eu 35F (95F) de température hier ici. Il faut moins chaud aujourd’hui, mais la haûte température fait les pattes
et le dos à moi douloureux. Je me suis déjà senti fatigué. Nous avios de relativement énormes séismes chaque jour dans ces trois jours passés dans la région de Sendaï. Je me doubte combien de temps que les jours d’haûte température et des séisemes dureraient.

A massive earthquake hit the Northeast coast of Japan at 14;46JST (05:46GMT) this afternoon. At around 16:12JST (07:12GMT), over 23ft (7metres) of ferocious tsunami hit those areas. The latest news on TV says that a few hundred bodies were found in the coast of Arai-Hama in the Sendai area. Fires, avalanches, majour blackouts occurred across northeast Japan. The earthquake cut off the railroad traffics at many places in the Tokyo area, and the city looks as if it were isolated. The aftershocks are still going on now, and I feel the ground shakes from time to time. When that big earthquake happened, I perceived that the view looked blurred even in Tokyo. It was difficult even to keep standing while the earthquake was going on. Really huge earthquake it was, but I am safe.

Un très violent séisme a touché la côte Nord-est du Japon à 14:46JST (05:46GMT) cet après-midi. Il a été suivi d'un tsunami féroce avec des vagues de plus de 7 mètres de haut à ces régions à environment 16:12JST(07:12GMT), Les dernières nouvelles à la TV disent que quelques centaines de corps ont été retrouvés sur une plage d'Araï-Hama dans la région de Sendaï. Des incindies, des avalanches, des pannes d'électricité majours sont arrivés à travers le Japon nord-est. Le séisme a tranché les circulations de chemin de fer dans la région de Tokyo, et la ville se semble comme s'il était isolée. Les secousses secondaires se continuent maintnant aussi, et je sens la terre tremble de temps en temps. Quand ce grand séisme est arrivé,　j'ai apperçu que la vue a semblé brouillée même à Tokyo. Il était difficile même pour continuer à être debout pendant que le séisme continuait. Il a été vraiment séisme énorme, mais je suis sûr.

今日、日本時間14:46 (05:46GMT)に日本の東北地方で巨大地震が発生した。　これに続いて日本時間16:12頃7メートルを超える高さの津波がこれらの地方をおそった。テレビの最新の報道は仙台の新井浜で数百の遺体が発見されたと言っている。　火事、山崩れ、大きな停電が日本の東北地方を縦断して発生し、東京は鉄道交通が寸断されてあたかも孤立した状態がなっている。　余震は今も継続して時々地面が揺れるを感じる。　この巨大地震が起きた時、私は東京にいたがそれでも景色が一瞬ぼやける、あるいは歪んで見えた。　立っている事を続ける事も容易ではなかった。　本当で大きい地震だったが、私は無事だ。
