So im all done with the chibi halloween commissions, there was one person left on the list but I had to cut off the commissions some where and I need time to draw my own Halloween pics.

As for when I will open commissions again Im thinking early next year. I would do them sooner but I figure every one is saving money for the holidays so I dont expect any one to commission me and I dont wanna cut into any one holiday money.

Chibi Costume Commissions

It's pretty simple i draw your original character as a chibi in a costume. The costume can be of a copyrighted character but it has to be clear that its our character in a costume, so no masks or wigs (hair styles can be changed but the color of the hair can't)

So I have finally gotten through pretty much every one on my commissions list here on FA, (there are like 2 left, one i need to hear back from and if I dont soon I will move on) so now im taking the next month and a half off from commissions. I will open them again in October to do my yearly chibi Halloween commissions but other then that I wont be taking any new commissions. I still have a few on going commissions I will be working on and I still have my patreon so its not all one long vacation.

So what will I be doing. Well I will be working on personal ideas, I have a short story in the works that is half way sketched, its only about 6 pages but its a start. I want to experiment with video editing, I have had this idea for some meme like vidoes for awhile that I wanna try and do. I want to improve as an artist, I bought a book by Andrew Loomis about figure drawing and I wanna study that. Last and probably most importantly I wanna try and put together a portfolio and actually give getting a job in comics or cartoons a try. I keep thinking im not good enough due to how hard it be for me to draw some things but who knows maybe I am good enough, and I can always learn on the job

I guess that's it for now, you all have a good rest of the summer

So my computer has decided to freak me out this morning. The "Windows Modules Installer worker" along with some other program decided to spike my computers CPU usage to over 90%. It calmed down for awhile but now the CPU usage is around 20%. Im not really sure what I can do to, does any one have any ideas. I have windows 8.1 by the way

You are probably asking, "how can you take a week off, you have only done 3 out of the 4 summer commissions" and that is true but I have also been doing commissions on another site since February along with doing monthly patreon comics/pictures so yeah I wanna take some time to my self. Also there are a few little art things I wanna do for my self and I cant really do them when I know I have art for other people to work on. Any ways I will get back to work on commissions on the 1st of July

If you are interested in getting a commission leave a comment here, do not send a note. Commissions will be done in the order of the comments made. I will send you a note when it is your turn, I use paypal for payment, when the pic is almost done I will request your email so that I can send you an invoice and after you pay it will give you the finished pic. Commissions will end when I have ether finished all the commissions, when im just to tried to work any more or when summer ends (September 1st)

As you can read from the title I returned the tablet, i need to get this off my chest so maybe I wont dwell on it and feel bad about it for too long.

So the thing is I followed all the instructions, downloaded all the drivers, updated other drivers and after my computer had a weird conniption fit, I came to the conclusion that I didnt wanna risk breaking my computer for a tablet.

Now I dont wanna bunch of "you should have done this" or "you could have done this" ok. I already feel really bad about all this because I have a habit of second guessing my self constantly and this whole situation just makes me feel like a big screw up. So thanks for helping in the past and wanting to help now but I just wanna put it behind me for now and just try and feel better about my self.

To end this a bit more positive I haven't given up completely. I just want to put this to the side for now and then at some point I will do more research, i know I was missing some thing and honestly all the "official" places for this stuff gives next to no information about what is actually needed

So im gonna be a bit negative so sorry in advance

So I went out on a limb and bought a Wacom Cintiqe 16, I got it today followed the instructions got it set up and it dosnt work. I turn it on and get a "no signal" message. I tried plugging it into the HDMI port that my monitor is plugged into and that made my desktop show up on the tablet but no windows or icons, and when I tried clicking things with the pen it was clicking things I couldn't see.

I hate to return things as soon as I get them but if it dosnt work it dosnt work, and Im not losing that kind of cash on some thing that not gonna work

Ive been thinking of getting a Cintiq tablet lately, the cheaper one for like 600, but Im unsure if such an investment would be worth it. So if any of you have used a Cintiq what are your thoughts on it. Did it help your art? Was there much of a learning curve?

That kind of money dosnt exactly fall into my lap so I really like to get a good idea if its the right thing for me before I decide any thing.

So I just learned that Paypal made a change to it's invoices. Now when you make an invoice you can make a general statement on what the invoice is for. You can say if the invoice is for "Shippable goods," "digital goods" and "services," there is a 4th one but those are the three I care about. Some are praising Paypal for doing this as I think this will provide more seller protection, some are spreading the idea that this is also away for paypal to start weeding out adult artists, I don't do adult art commissions so I'm not really worried.

One thing I do wonder about is when I use this new option should I mark things as "digital goods" or as a "service." I'm leaning toward "service" because I'm using my artistic skills at the service or another to help realize their ideas. What do you all think?

Before any one jumps the gun I'm not stopping commissions, I just wanted to let every one know that I'm going to be pacing my self with them. Usually I try to blast through as many commissions as I can in a month and just focus on commissions in that time but it usually leaves me a little burnt out. So this time I will be trying to take things a bit slower, only doing one or two commission a week and taking a break to ether work on my own stuff or other projects in between. My hope is that I will be able to work on people's pics and my own with out getting to worn down and becoming unhappy. Ok I think that's every thing I hope to get to every ones commissions in a timely matter so please be patient with me
