Oh man. I'm not kidding. Within two hours of posting that journal, we managed to coordinate a game.

Wow. I am impressed. Thank you, universe.

Motivation has been of a buzzkill with me, lately. Aside from trying to put together a D&D campaign with people for a while now, I've gotten to watch it crash and burn more times just starting than a year-long campaign did in its entire life.

On top of that, dealing with very very dull classes is never that fun, either.

Right now I'm working on a story idea, however, so we might actually start getting things out of me again. Sorry again for the long delay.

I might even try to sit down after class and draw something.

It was nice and warm today. Supposedly we're getting a lot of snow soon.

Probably because the car got washed.

Got boned out of a snow-day by my shitty community college. Right when I get to class they issue an update saying classes close in an hour.

Also, I forgot how crazy it was to walk about outside in snow and ice. It's literally like a 6pm night in the summer or something right now. So bright.

Almost oddly so, too, since some regions of the sky aren't quite uniform, despite what seems to be a semi-standard cloud mass. Oh well.

Totally hope there's no class tomorrow. Accumulated snow + sleet since 6PM means pretty bad conditions.

Who knows.

I totally hate how there's nothing to do around this hour. I mean, c'mon all you fluffbutts. Some of you have to be nocturnal, right?

My hours have become more nocturnal as of late. Pity.

I've found that I am having trouble waking up in the mornings... often even getting myself out of bed. Perhaps I'm lazy, but that never seems the case once I finally roll myself from the covers and go about my day.

Of course, waking up at 9 only to fall back to sleep into rather feverish dreams twice and ultimately find consciousness on the other side of 11:30 is a bit of a boor.

But there are both good and bad sides to this little malady of mine. Where I may have trouble waking, it's easier to fall back asleep when people find it all to necessary to make noise.

Well, friggin finally. We've got cool scripty-durps that make the pictures look pretty. 'Course, I can see potential complaints coming fast (DUCK, 'NEER, DUCK!) but it's rather nice to start getting up to date.

All we need to do now is round-out the interface (appearance) and basically make stuff nice and smooth so that it stands out. The hard-edged "table" look is sort of degrading to the site on several levels.

Joy. Turns out that one of my buddy-lists (MSN, it seems) has a flaw in it due to an incomplete transaction that now causes Pidgin to burst into flames every time it tries to use that account.

Big deal, really, since I never use it other that a means for my parents to contact me, despite them being more apt to use a phone.

The only downside of all of that was having to root around and nuke all remnants of the old install -- apparently, just deleting the entry in the XML configuration won't do -- and then reinstalling and configuring the whole thing. Took about 4 minutes, sure, but it still sucks.

Classes started back up this Monday.

And of course it turns out that one of them -- a 3D Design class -- got canceled. One aggravating night later, I manage to pencil myself in for an Art History & Appreciation course... it sounds vomit inducing. I have decided that, if all else, I'll simply attempt to draw lots of porn. Why? It's art and it's appreciating itself. (Now that's what I call philosophy)

In other news, I had a great idea for my long weekend, what with the coming holiday and all, but a few rather massive things out of my control have prevented that. Ho hum, another dull weekend.

I'm gonna go get breakfast and convince myself to draw. Yes I will.

In other news, what kind of chocolate do you guys like? Right now I have this 77% Blackberry with Nibs stuff -- which I don't really like since the chunkies kinda hurt your mouth -- this "dark" stuff with bits of dried pear and almonds (sounds delicious), and another block of 99%. The latter, of course, is the kind of thing that seems to consist of raw cocoa that was smooshed together into a bar shape. It's also made of holy-shit-chocolate-nirvana in tiny cm² bits.

It is now breakfast.

There was this thread, with the OP having a strange picture of two kinda-lolis in a bathtub. But, unlike what most would find there... nothing was showing. Turns out it's some shonen manga. Now, I'm semi-familiar with the anime/manga world, but you won't find me browsing the racks at the local store or pooting away on the net to read various popular or even obscure things. Anyway... Most of the comments were pretty positive, and a look-up on a site cast it in good light with some nice reviews. Okay, now I'm interested. It looks like cute art, and I want to know more about this adorable little.... thing.

After a little bit of hunting, I found a site with most of it translated, since I can't speak or read japanese worth crap (hail the subtitle function!) What's better than reasonably good scans?

An amazing story with lovable characters. I'm kinda tempted to use some money to get the physical volumes themselves (damn you cliffhangers).

Anyway, I remember when I went down to hang out with my friend fennecwolfox and stuff... pretty fun time and all, but something amused me. It's been about 7 years I've been in the fandom, and still I don't even have a real name for my 'sona or anything like that. Sure, I keep popping shit out, but even as a character I seem to fail at giving him a proper name.

... so it makes me wonder. How do you guys go about choosing a name and stuff? Should I just forever be known as 'ringtail' and have to contend with people who like any of perhaps 40 species that can have ringed or banded tails?

I guess half the reason is because I'm just ready to ditch this lame-assed attempt at an account and start over again. I kinda want to just try to start over and make little achievements... set aside some time each weekend for little pictures, develop characters, actually draw or even write!

It's sad that somehow, this whole train of thought brings me back to the fact that I feel like I've begun to stagnate here... well, now, at least. It's a whole different rant entirely, but... you guys don't really need to hear it. But for those of you who are curious enough to actually be reading this still... I'm just feeling... distanced.


p.s.: Why does it seem like nearly no one knows what a "ringtail cat" is? It's always fun when people say "so, what species [...] ?" and I reply and get a funny look and say "Oh, like... a lemur?"
