It seems like every fursuit-making panel I or my friends have attended just seem.... either outdated or not detailed enough, no offense to anyone of course, I have still learned a lot from panels! But because of some nudges from friends, I have decided I am going to try to host the ultimate "My First Fursuit" panel at BLFC. I'm going to request a 2 hour slot and we are going to do this thing. The current very loose plans are to have the first hour for introductions and super explaining and showing of how to make a fursuit (a FULL fursuit!), so that if you walk in the door knowing NOTHING about fursuits, you can walk out the door ready to make one. I'll be handing out lists of materials and where to get them as well, because the #1 question I get asked is "Where do you get fur?". The next 30 min I will cover maintaining your suit, from disinfecting and brushing to thorough washing and all that jazz. And the last 30 min I will leave open to questions/discussions, letting people examine some suits and materials up close, and even trying on some of my personal suits if they so wish (look at how blind we are!!).
This will be geared toward people who have NO EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER in owning suits, making suits or even crafting in general. I'll also cover some of my personal experiences and tips and tricks for those with a little more experience, so there can be something for every level!

So, should I bulk order some from Shannon Fabrics? I mean, if I bulk ordered some, would you all be willing to buy some? I'd offer it for $20/yard. Just as a note, the minimum I can purchase is 12 yards of each color, so this would be a major monetary commitment for me, but it seems like other makers are looking for these colors too??

Because the list is taking up too much space on my profile page, and I love adopts so much, and yes, I plan to make them ALL into fursuits some day!! I may keep them as suits, I may sell them, I may loan them out, who knows x)

Introvert with social anxiety, woo! Out of suit, I am the most awkward, "I don't wanna be here" person. In suit though! Tea will try to cute you to death (she's evil, but for some reason her evil plans always turn out cute). In Rio, I feel I can truly be myself and *most of my social anxiety goes away. I can actually go up and talk to people haha

What's your goal for the con this year?
Just have fun! I'm really excited to show around because this will be her first fur con! Her birthday will be during the con too, so that'll be fun!!

Slacking off. Like, I'm not even sure what I did, because usually when I slack off I play video games, but I got behind in games, commissions, and school so I have no idea where my time went but it needs to stop.

I hope to have at least a couple bottles of every scent I currently have ready to go by FC. I ordered some special scents for the diner theme, but I ordered from a new place and the scents didn't turn out quite like I wanted. (It might just be my nose tho).
Cola smells pretty good, like I wanna drink it (but don't) and nicely outweighs the disinfectant scent.
Waffles is pretty good too! Really strong-smelling tho O.O
French Fries.... smells like burned grease to me?
Hungry Man (steak n potatoes with a jelly finish) just does not smell right to me. I'm gonna have some friends give 'em a sniff this weekend tho and see what they think!
Also, feel free to sniff 'em before ya buy 'em at FC! To get the best scent results, spritz it on fabric/fur and let it dry for 5 minutes or so, then give it a sniff! I personally am totally fine with people taking a spritz, and I'll let Muttmix know that, but if it's in a small crowded area (knowing FC, it will be) I probably wouldn't recommend it (don't wanna gas anyone out with all the scents!). Just sniffing out of the bottle should be fine tho, just know that the disinfectant smell is much stronger in the bottle.

SO I'm excited to have something in the dealer's den, even if I myself won't be there (I'll be around!).

FC's theme this coming year is 50s American Diner. I just found a website that sells all kinds of new scent oils that I can make fursuit disinfecting spray out of! So I'm thinking of doing some limited time special scents for FC.

All the bottles and such have arrived! Most of the scents arrived as well. But some don't smell like I think they're supposed to? Here's a quick list of the scents that arrived, and what they are supposed to smell like vs what they smell like to me.

Cappuccino - "A rich strong fresh brewed coffee with heavy cream and sugar"
*Pretty spot on. Definitely really sweet coffee-y and creamy. They also gave me 4x the amount I ordered!!

Pumpkin Spice - "Soft, carbohydrate rich flavor, pulpous note reminiscent of pumpkin pie and American baking"
*I suppose it does smell like something baking, but more like some type of old fashioned sweet bread, rather than pumpkin spice.

Green Tea & Lemon Grass - "Green tea, plum, jasmine, violet with light lemongrass note"
*Smells like a field of lemon grass with a few flowers.

Vanilla - "Sweet, cozy, comforting, with a pleasing cookie-baking feeling"
*Clean and crisp, not really cozy. I more get the image of showering while eating ice cream, rather than baking.

Dark Chocolate - "True Dark Chocolate with a very pervasive undertone of mocha and cocoa"
*Pretty spot on. Definitely dark chocolate, not milk chocolate.

Balsam - "Fresh, woody, and spicy balsam is a distinctive base note"
*Fairly accurate. Smells just like mushed up pine needles, with a bit of spice in the after-scent.

Birthday Cake - "Buttery, creamy, and vanilla notes"
*YUP. Vanilla cupcake with frosting!

Honey - "Sweet, edible, golden autumnal note"
*Definitely honey, but sharp, raw honey. Sweet, but not as sweet as you'd expect.

Cinnamon Stick - "True strong cinnamon stick. Perfect for the warming your home for the holidays along with antibacterial properties"
*YEP.

Strawberry - "Classic red fruit note, jam-like, sweet, child-like and ultra-popular thanks to its inclusion in several products beyond fine fragrance"
*YEP. Like strawberry ice cream with strawberries on top.

Calming Water - "A cool, fresh blend of apricot, geranium, cucumber and fresh water"
*Flowery. Like a perfume I can't quite place.

Black Cherry - "A strong aroma of ripened sweet black cherries"
*YEP.

Peppermint - "Strongly piercing, refreshing, minty and very herbaceous. Among its properties are: Cooling, analgesic, antispasmodic, anesthetic, decongestant, emmenagogue, expectorant"

The person who asked me to make 100 pug hats has decided that I am asking too much money for them when the last price we discussed was less than half of what I normally sell them for. I'm sorry, they are handmade, and I won't work for less than minimum wage. SORRY.
I told him he should be looking at factories that mass produce them, not one person who makes custom ones, if he wants that low of a price.

I have this wonderful friend who is a musician and has a gaming channel on YouTube. I recently sent him a furry hat and tail keychain. He was kind enough to share them on his YouTube channel as well as shared a little of my story and advertised a bit for me.
Well, someone who manages some fairly well-known YouTubers contacted me recently about my hats. He wants to order 100 pug hats from me O.O And he needs them all before February.

As far as commissions right now:
I have a rat partial that is going to be in a play in December, he will be delivered by the deadline.
 SlyRocket's full suit is on point to be delivered at Further Confusion.
