Since I'm a dork, however, that sounds like a pretty good birthday to me.

I'll be turning 22... not really feeling too philosophical about it at the moment, but I'm hoping this summer results in a few things I've been really hoping for coming true, especially now that I have money for things. Part of that will hopefully involve RCFM, if any of you uudes are heading that way.

I... really don't know what to think. I guess I can see a lot of good reasons from moving from FA, but... I dunno, I already put all my stuff on Inkbunny. Did people just give up on that, or what?

I really don't want to move all my crap again, unless they've got some kind of converter utility like Inkbunny has...

Considering my name, and the icon I've used since I've been on FA, I figure I pretty much HAVE to talk about this. So, the new Killer Instinct.

Let me sum it up for you all: No sir, I don't like it.

To be honest, this shouldn't be bothering me that much. I don't play that much Killer Instinct, to be perfectly honest. I mean, I don't HATE it, it's just that it's so amazingly complicated I have no idea what I'm doing whenever I DO play it. I named myself after Riptor because I was at a time in my life when I was really bad at naming things.

It was either Talon from Primal Rage (too generic), Alex from Tekken (WAY too generic), or Rimgal from Star Gladiator. (Nnnnooooo.) Riptor was the best I could come up with the time. I've thought of better names since then, but this one is just so ingrained I'd rather not bother changing.

So, for those of you who haven't seen what this KI looks like, here ya go.



It's pretty sure, especially when you compare it to the... rather dated CGI of the first two games. I hate what they did to the theme song, though. It feels so... lifeless. Tired, even. Like it doesn't actually WANT to be in the game.

Problem #1: It's exclusive to the XBOX One. I don't like the XBOX One. I don't want one. At all.

Problem #2: The presentation is kind of throwing me off. The announcer sounds... really, really weird. I mean, I realize that whoever did the announcer in the first two games probably doesn't work at Rare anymore, but... he sounds like somebody doing some kind of fan video more than anything else. The best comparison I can think of is somebody trying to do Christian Bale's Batman voice as a fighting game announcer. Maybe it'd work better if they got a British guy, I dunno.

Like, I can't hear him say 'Only on XBOX One!' and not imagine some frat boy or something yelling at the top of his lungs. While wearing a beer hat or something. He sounds so... 'dudebro', for lack of a better word.

Problem #3: Double Helix is making this. They don't have a great track record, having made games like Battleship, Silent Hill Homecoming, and GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. That, and they've never made a fighting game.

Problem #4: From the gameplay footage I've seen, it looks like everything does piddly damage. I mean, that's something they could fix down the line, but... well, here's the old Killer Instinct for comparison.



Look about 30 seconds in. Check out that combo Riptor does, that's like half off the other guy's health right there. No super meter involved, the game's just that fast. Compared to this new KI, where a combo does like... I dunno, 1/20 of the other guy's health bar. Just rubs me the wrong way.

So, yeah, I'll play it. As long as I don't have to give Microsoft any sort of money in any way.

Welp. I know people don't usually post in these, but eh, might as well give it a shot. I'll be turning 21 in two weeks, March 22nd, and... going to be honest here, I'm kind of terrified. Mostly because I'm sitting here realizing I still don't have a job yet, and partly because... well, I'm not sure how to handle the whole 'alcohol' thing. For whatever reason, I haven't actually tried it. I mean, I've had the oppurtunity before, I just can't get myself to try it. Not sure if I'm going to stick to that or give it a shot, or what'll happen if I end up actually trying the stuff.

But, on a more positive note, I'll be out seeing some local dudes I haven't seen in a while! I've pretty much got some cabin fever going on over here, so that should help pretty well.

I don't have one. And, honestly, I can't really see why I'd want one, seeing as I'm on two art sites. Anybody care to explain to me why I'd want an account there? Giving a reason that doesn't have something to do with cub? I mean, I don't like cub, let's get that straight right there. But it's hardly a reason for me to go through the effort of uploading all my stuff somewhere else.

So, yeah, for the first time, I'm offering commissions to anybody who'd be interested. So, what exactly is an 'interactive story', you ask? Well, if you want a small sample of my work, you can just click here if you want to see a sample of my work. This is just a small example, and there's no real challenge, but it gives a good example on how it plays and what your story will look like.

So, what makes these special, and different from regular writing, is that YOU are the main character of the story, and you can interact with the world in the way you want. Do you want to look at everything in the room? Do you want to choose what you'll say to the other characters? Go ahead.

I can make pretty much any feature request if you want, as long as involves words. I can handle stuff like combat, spellcasting, and... possibly images and sound, although you'd have to provide them.

A few ground rules:
1. I can't do art, so don't expect to see much of that unless you have some to give me.
2. I CAN do games with sexual themes. However, I won't do scat, watersports, vore, or death in a sexual context.
3. I can put scenes of blood and death and such in your story, but I'd rather not be overly detailed about it.
4. Original characters and settings only. I don't do fanfiction.

Also, here's some quick questions you can answer for yourself so you can get a better idea of what kind of story you want. You don't have to answer them all, but it would help.

1. How used are you to this sort of thing? If you're new, would you like extra features that make navigating easier? Do you want lots of hints?
2. Would you prefer more of a story, with lots of character interaction and storytelling, or would you like something more like a game, with puzzles and danger?
3. What is the main character like? How does he or she react to things? How does he or she treat people? Is there anything unusual about him or her, or do they have a special talent?
4. What kind of setting does the main character live in? Is it modern, sci-fi, fantasy, or something else? Where are the places he can go in this setting? Is there anything unusual about this setting?
5. Are there any other characters the main character talks to? Who are they, and how do they treat him?
6. What kind of tone would you like the game's story to take? Silly? Sarcastic? Or serious?
7. Should it be possible for the story to end in failure in some way? If so, should it be common, or uncommon?

Well, sort of. Some of you might be young enough you wouldn't call a text adventure a 'video game'. That's right, a text adventure. See, I've been wanting to do something creative lately, and since I have little to no art skills, this is what I'm doing. I'm using a program called Inform 7, which seems to be the most popular system for this sort of thing, and although it's taking me a while, I'm very slowly getting the hang of it. There are, however, a lot of rules and such I'm wrapping my head around.

This is actually an attempt to make a short story I was working on into a more interactive format. Stories are nice, sure, but this gives me both me and the reader a lot of options that a regular story couldn't. I don't have to sit and spend paragraphs upon paragraphs describing everything in the room, no matter how useless. You, the player, are also free to ignore these tiny little details at your leisure, looking at and interacting with what YOU want.

So, now, I give you the game to look at and mess with all you want. Be warned that this is VERY early in, and the game doesn't have anything close to any puzzles. All I'm wanting from you guys for know is to mess with it. Try everything. If it doesn't work, tell me, and I'll see if I can make it work. Let me know if you find any bugs. When the game is 'done enough', I'll probably put in on my Gallery, somehow. Until then, I'll just keep updating it through the journal.

I have a question, for those of you reading this: Do you think there's a market for this by commision, or is it too niche? I know some people who make money writing stories, isn't this basically the same thing, with more interactivity? Sure, it's more work... much more... but I think it's a neat idea.

Well, they managed to bring in some power from a place in the state that still had some in my town and the town about 15 minutes away from it on Saturday. I have to admit, I'm glad to be home. Maybe it's just that our particular area wasn't hit as hard as some other spots, but looking at town, it's like hardly anything has happened at all. Anyway, things start to look like they're going to be back to normal.

I wasn't really able to bring up something in my last journal, and I feel pretty crappy for that. I know a lot of people in Alabama didn't end up as lucky in this whole situation as I was, and I want to wish everyone caught in this disaster the best of luck so they can get through it as soon as possible. I know a good majority of the state is still without power, and I can't imagine how hard that might be to get through. Especially so for those who have lost their homes. That's just something I couldn't begin to imagine how horrible it would be.

If anybody suffering from this disaster is able to reach this journal, please let me know if you're all right.

Well, some of you may have heard of the tornado that tore through Alabama a few days ago. There was quite a lot of?damage, sadly, and the entire northern half of the state is completely without power. No electricity in houses, businesses, not even stoplights. No idea how long we'll be without power, but worst case scenario is 4-7 days. My town was not one of the areas hit, so I'm staying in a hotel in Tennesse for a couple of days, typing on a cell phone keypad the size of my palm. If anybody else is suffering from the effects of this disaster, let me know how you're holding up, if you are able to. And to any of my friends and watchers see this journal, I just want to say I miss you guys a whole lot and hope this whole mess gets sorted out soon.

Well, a little bit has happened since the last journal entry. I honestly have no idea if anyone actually reads these things, but I might as well put it up. It's not like I've got anything else to do, because my foot is basically broken. It's a long, boring story.

Anyway, something more exciting is that I'm going to Rocket City Fur Meet! It's my first furcon, and to be honest, I'm really nervous. It'll be on May 22-24. If you're in Alabama, come on over!

Here we go, my first journal! I can't guarantee that this will be a very regular thing, because my life isn't exactly what you would call a high-octane thrillride. I guess if the thought doesn't slip my mind, I'll put anything that could be considered exciting up.

I've been in the fandom for about a month, now. I've decided to come out to a few of my online non-furry friends. I decided against it, for a while, but I decided to just get it over with. They were pretty cool with it, actually, and nobody's ever even brought it up.

I'm also using Skype, if you think you can handle by horrible voice. I can't guarantee I'll be on there a lot, because most of the time, there will be people in the room I'm in, and I'd feel uncomfortable talking to people while they were around. Don't forget to add me on one of your chat programs, if you ever want to! I use Pidgin, an all-in-one chat program, so I'll more than likely be available on MSN, ICQ, AIM, and Yahoo.

I managed to get one of my buddies, FelixAlexander, to sign up onto the FA gallery and forums. He's been pretty busy there, he put up a lot of his artwork and started posting on the forums a lot. Sharktheraptor and Brodycatsmouth are pretty cool guys, too.

Anyway, regarding projects... I'm not really sure what to do. I had a plan for a document that basically described people, places, and things of interest in my setting. It wouldn't be in any kind of story format, it'd be more like an encyclopedia, I guess. I've been trying to think of a few villian ideas, and I came up with the idea for some kind of human-hating Hybrid cult. I also thought of another, goofier idea. What is it? You'll have to wait and see.
