Last iFurry of the Season is Up... and an explanation

So if you've seen our latest on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/ifurrytv) you'll know I'm heading out west to Saskatchewan for a year!
I had a part-time job at a store here in town that I've had for the past 2 year. I asked them for full-time hours so Aden & I could afford an apartment here but they were unable to offer me that position. Aden hasn't been able to find a full-time job since the carpentry work ended at the end of July and all in all circumstances were starting to look bleak. My family is moving out to Saskatchewan where my step-dad's business is so Aden & I are moving with them. We figure in a year we'll be able to save up enough money out there to get a proper place here and not be scrounging for money month-to-month. It will also be enough to have a buffer if we don't find jobs right away when we come back.
We're taking our computers and we'll be on FA again soon once we get jobs and life sorted out a bit, then the hiatus can be over! YAY!
As for iFurry Potato and I have agreed it's a project we both want to work on again when I return so neither of us is going to take it over in the meantime. I am however hoping to start a vlog as a bunch of my IRL friends here want to know what's going on out there. It should be interesting and informative. I'll include things like funny YouTube clips, updates on our life, funny websites, my cat doing odd things... you know that usual randomness you've come to expect from me. So stay tuned for some info on that and if you have any ideas for me feel free to let me know!

I Need to Commission Someone, any takers?

I'm still on hiatus but Aden asked me to post this as I have more watchers than him.
He got a job recently (YAY) and wants to buy me a commission with his part of his first paycheck (also YAY).
It's to be a commission of Risu dressed as a time lord (a la Doctor Who) leaning nonchalantly against the Tardis holding a sonic screwdriver.
She'd be wearing goggles on her head, glasses, breeches, a steampunk-esque bustier and a billowy pirate blouse as well as the 4th doctor's scarf. (Perhaps a few other accoutrements that would look "time-lordy")
We'd need a full-size drawing (digital, tradition, whatever it may be) and also a scaled down 100x100 version for use on my LJ... (I can scale it myself but I'd need a finished product that's easily downsized)
So any takers? Please let me know of your prices and mediums or if you know of anyone doing commissions at the moment and we'll pick someone.

On Hiatus

As you may have noticed I've been away for quite awhile now. Sorry about that. I feel kind of dumb writing another "sorry for disappearing" journal. I do that far too often... I really don't mean to, life just happens I guess.
My nana did pass away shortly after I wrote my last journal, I spent some time in Saskatchewan for the funeral. Since then life has been very topsy turvy.
Basically we've hit a speed bump as a family. My step dad owns a business out west and needs to be working at it to support us (his 2nd in command recently retired) and my mum doesn't want to move to SK. It's causing a lot of stress and uncertainty.
I'm worried I'll have to move out west or Aden and I will have to move into our own place (which we can't really afford) so I've been trying to pick up extra hours and save up but it's gone poorly and every month that passes makes things a little more uncertain.
Also it being summer the office (where my PC resides) is next to unbearable in warmth so that makes it difficult. Also I'm sharing my PC with Kiki and her bf right now so that just adds to things.
In addition I'm thinking my parents don't really approve of the furry thing at the moment, they think I should be looking for another job and not drawing/looking at art/etc and they're probably right... it's just another thing that makes FA difficult right now.
I'm not trying to seek pity or anything, but warm thoughts and/or prayers would be appreciated I don't really know what to do about all of this and it makes me sad and confused and a little worried.
I'm just waiting for everything to settle in so I can have the time to enjoy FA again, because I really do enjoy it. I just don't know how long that's going to take.
I'm very sorry. I really do miss my furriends and I feel bad I can't be on here, I'll check my inbox from time to time so feel free to pm me or e-mail me (I check that every couple days).

Furnal Equinox 2010 con report!

Late (as always) I give you the FURNAL EQUINOX 2010 CON REPORT!!!! *cheers*
I don't really want to do an itemized list of happenings so let me just ramble some things... (For a complete synopsis of the weekend check out the con report on
artamis's journal.)
I went to FE with
and we were supposed to have Ayres and her fiancée with us as well but due to last minute money troubles they were unable to make it. Since we live just outside Toronto we decided to drive in each morning with TomTom to navigate. We were undecided as to whether we'd attend both days but in the end we did, which was awesome!
Over the course of the weekend we met up with some previous friends
sethtriggs and 
aeliawyndsong as well as 
hypr. I also got to meet one of my good msn friends 
xzion which was super fun!! We also met a bunch of new furs including 
missmab 
matthiasrat 
mmm-dumpling 
tigersammy 
kutekittykatt 
wggthegnoll 
cheeto Also a very sweet kitty named Flow who's not on FA. Oh and the very talented photographer 
shujintribble and his daughter Tiny Tribble.
We also met 2 very cool boys who run a podcast!!!

The Things I liked:
I really enjoyed the later night panel on adult drawing with
bushycat she is just too funny! I loved that there was a rodents panel hosted by MatthiasRat even though not too many rodents showed up this year. :-P The dance was pretty awesome! The fursuit games were really fun! The parade was also a lot of fun. I was Potato's handler and it was neat to be able to walk in the parade! The con staff was also super nice and amazing!! Shout-outs to: Pakesh De and Blindsight and Artctic for an awesome con!!!
The Things That could be improved on:
It was too bad that there were so few panels and they were staggered (half hour/hour) so if you went to one you couldn't make another but I'm sure they'll work that out. Also the walls were really thin so sound checks sometimes interfered with panels. The zoo wasn't well advertised as there were tables in the main area a lot of people just hung at, but again I'm sure it'll be better next year.
Summary:
In conclusion it was awesome for a first-time con, a ton of fun and a really good experience! The smaller atmosphere was so different from big cons like AC, you could actually get to know people and hang out with them more than once! LOL I'd definitely suggest anyone who can make it should plan to go next year!

Is This Fursona Theft?

Having a bit of trouble with a user on FA and I don't know what to do... a little help/advice would be appreciated.
This artist http://www.furaffinity.net/user/masterwindragon/ recently put up a pic http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3559348/ and it looks a lot like adensilverflame's icon/fursona. The artist says he's never seen Aden's fursona but as you can see the pic looks nearly identical to the icon and his fursona. (Another pic of Aden's fursona here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1941490/)
He says his fursona is coloured differently but only one of his pics and his icon are in colour so you really can't tell.
Please advise? (Also I'm posting this in my journal instead of Aden posting it in his because I have more watchers)

I found a home for my 100 sketches!

I found a home for my 100 sketches! I opened a tumblr blog account. Thanks for all the suggestions for other sites. Most of them wouldn't allow NSFW content though and I was worried that if I wanted to draw anything 18+ I'd have nowhere to post it. Also a lot of sites have the same rules in the ToS as DA where they can use your work on their site, which I don't like.

100 Sketch Challenge, help? +Free art for you

So I started to draw again tonight to get in the groove to finish some trades and stuff I owe people and I really am kind of sucking... so I need practice.
I'm going to take on the 100 sketch challenge thing. 100 sketches in 100 days, the thing is I need ideas. If you could offer scenarios, themes, characters, one word suggestions or if you'd like character refs. I'll try to do them all and just keep them coming 'cuz it is 100 I have to get to. I'm not promising they'll be great but I'll try to do them all.
Hopefully these will be digital (but maybe some sketchbook ones) and mostly just lines, although if the mood strikes me I may venture into colour. If something comes out really good I may finish it at a later date too.
Guys where should I post these? I don't want to bother you with sketches in your submissions but I use my scraps for gifts and DA has really stupid rules, basically says they can do what they want with my art if I submit it there... thoughts? I guess for now I'll put them here...

Apparently squirrels hibernate for the winter?!?

So.... I'm back, hopefully for good this time. I didn't die from swine flu or anything like that but I've had a heck of a few months!
Nothing terribly major, just a lot of real life stuff. Mostly work. I work retail and with the holidays it was crazy! I've actually been sick pretty much since I put up the last journal, not with the H1N1 just different various ailments that made it impossible to go to work and do anything else so I was literally medicating myself, getting through work and passing out til I got up and did it again!
Work has finally slowed down and my health is okay... I doubt I'm lucky enough to make it through cold season without getting something else (as I clearly have a crap immune system) but at least the only thing I've to complain of today is a headache. LOL
I'm truly sorry to everyone who I've missed these past months. I've really missed my furriends and I'm hoping that I still have furriends to come back to. I'm so sorry for the silence guys!
To ensure I can keep up with FA I've nuked all my submissions & journals (over 100,000 submissions) it was nuts! I also deleted half my watch list, so if I accidentally deleted you please forgive me and just inform me I did so.
If there's anything I need to see please link me, or if anything is new with you please catch me up!

I have H1N1

So I had a fever Tuesday night, it got worse and I went to the Dr. Wednesday they told me I have H1N1 and can't go back to work til Monday. I'm soooo sick. It feels awful! So sorry if I'm not online, all I've been doing is sleeping.
Oh and apparently what I had before wasn't swine flu but really bad bronchitis (according to my charts at the doctor's despite that my doctor told me I had it *SIGH*)
Anyways I'm going back to bed.

A Risu Update

I couldn't sleep so I'm going to put up an update instead LOL.
My bro's wedding was the 12th of September and it was beautiful, just like the kind in movies, it was crazy! I had a lot of fun and there are some great pics, the photographer was amazing!
Since then things have kind of gone downhill for me though. The Tuesday after the wedding (the 15th) I started getting sick and I'm still not better, it was a cold, then the flu, then bronchitis, then complications from the penicillin and then when I went for my physical on the 14th of this month the doctor said I probably had/have H1N1 but he's not sure and that's probably why I'm still so sick... he said to just keep taking medicine, getting rest and fluids, typical doctory stuff. So I'm still sick, sore & achy and very tired and drained feeling all the time. Today my throat hurts again and I've had a slight dry cough for the last 2 days. I'm so sick of feeling sick!
Besides that everyone at work is sick/having their wisdom teeth out or on vacation (booked a long time ago) and so I'm getting full-time hours (which is awesome and I'm not complaining) but with the whole sick thing all I do is go to work, come home, eat and go to bed. I work most days 8:30-5:30 so I'm getting up at 7am. I've been on a full-time work schedule since around the wedding. That's the main reason I haven't been on FA. I'm really hoping I get better soon!
Other news:
My family moved to Regina til Christmas time, including Kiki because my step-dad needed to go take-over his company there full-time for awhile when his lead-hand retired. I'm very sad about this, I miss Kiki and the others. They just left Monday.
Aden came back to live here on Sunday 'cuz I couldn't really get around this city without him. I don't drive and the buses would have me waiting at the side of the mall after-hours for half an hour every night and there was no bus on Sunday... so Aden came back to chauffeur me around (lol) but he's sick now and I'm really hoping he's not got H1N1

I'd have a Canadian # but I know most U.S. providers allow texting to Canada. If there's enough people who'll text me I'll get the phone, (it's like $20 a month but my current provider doesn't have any U.S. texting) if not then I guess I won't. So let me know who wants to text me?

Short Hiatus
Posted 16 years agoHey guys,
I'm sorry I haven't been around much this summer, it's been a combination of a lot of crazy and I feel really bad.
Lately the 3 biggest things are hours at work picked up (YAY money) and the temperature has risen (which means most days the office is over 31 degrees (celsius) and sadly that is too hot for me (or my PC) to function so I haven't been able to get online too much. The 3rd is my brother's wedding which I'm in the wedding party and there is SO MUCH involved in it! It's kind of a "fairytale" "by the book" wedding so every party, dinner, get-together you could think of for a wedding this one has and I'm to be at all of them... in short I'm a busy squirrely.
I think I'm just going to take a bit of a break (til after the wedding Sept 12th) so I'll try to reply to what I can and shouts and that but if I'm not around much til then please forgive me. Hopefully by then the office will be cooled down and I'll be less busy *crosses fingers*

Also on a personal note, just so you know where I've disappeared to, I was at the con from July 1-7 and then on the 10th I went to North Bay (well Corbeil) to visit's family with him. On the 16th we wen to Wasaga Beach to finish up my family's beach vacation with them. We arrived home on the 18th. My family left again on the 21st to go to SK for my uncle's wedding. I had 2 shifts at work since then (YAY). On Saturday I had some sad news, a friend from college who I lived with for a year passed away, he drowned on Wednesday and they found his body Friday and I was told Saturday. It's been a very emotional weekend all-in-all.
Today I finished iFurry with Potato as we want to try to get 2 episodes out a month. Yesterday got news his parents wanted him to go up north to help them move stuff about so I'm to go as well so he doesn't have to do the 5 hour drive alone. So off to the north I go! I work Sunday so I'll be back by then.
Sorry to scurry off again on such short notice.

I'm off to AC (well as of tomorrow at 6pm) but I thought I'd post this now as tomorrow will be crazy! I still have to mail some things, get some more memory cards for my camera, check the mail for last-minute badges, finish packing... just a bunch of odds & bobs but I'd rather know this is safely posted.
I don't think I'll have my cell phone with me at the con but I'm going to see about buying an American pay-as-you-go to contact any friends I'm supposed to be meeting up with at the con, so sorry guys if I don't contact you from the # I provided!
I won't have internets til I'm back (unless I can find a computer to borrow for a few min) so as of tomorrow around noon I won't be checking FA til after the 7th. (although I will try to get online to post my room # at least or else artamis sornas or potatozombie might so check their pages too if you need my room #)

Need cell phone help for AC?

So I gave a few of you my cell phone # for AC but I don't think I can afford to have my phone turned on... Rogers (my provider) told me there was a better long distance deal, but they were mistaken, the best they can offer is $40 for 60 min and no incoming calls O_O Also 60 cents per text... so I can't afford that...
Can anyone suggest a way to get a U.S. cell phone & plan from Canada in a day? or any other suggestion for how I can get a hold of these furs at AC?
I've considered calling cards but then I have no incoming # and furs wouldn't recognize the number I was calling from.
My laptop is broken so I have no access to FA (or e-mail or the net in general for that matter) after Wednesday around 5pm.
