Ritz Commissions Temporarily on Hiatus
Posted 13 years ago(Update 31/01 - First Batch complete! Will be making a start on the Second batch this coming week. Thanks to everyone involved so far!)
(Update 08/02 - an Imposed Hiatus for the past few and the next couple of days while I brave my way up the Kailash mountains to see my painting sensei. Also to clean up my RL portfolio work. Apologies to those who I haven't started yet!)
Alright, I guess this was a long time coming - but now Ritz Commissions are reopen for business!
After the success of last years work, and a lot of requests for commissions these past few months, I thought it was only right to open up again. So for those guys who've been itching for a piece of Ritzmorabilia, Here's your chance!
At the moment, I'll take these on 5 at a time, so if you don't appear in the list below yet, don't panic! You'll be seen to once prior commissions are out of the way.
---
So, For a digitally produced, high resolution picture, featuring any character of your choice, for a limited time can be all yours for only $25! Along with the final high resolution picture, I also include a cropped "FA sized" version and an icon version for FurAffinity Previews. On request, I can also include an animated breakdown of your piece - depending on the circumstance however these may not be available for every piece!
For extra characters, I ask for an additional $10 per character, while for complex backgrounds or objects, I ask for an additional $5.
Also! For those who are interested in my 3D conversions, such as the one seen here: - http://www.furaffinity.net/full/9558184/
You can have one of those too for an additional $10!
Sequences and Comic books will be on a project basis, so they will be priced accordingly depending on their length and complexity. Same goes for animated pieces!
Also, I'm happy to draw character icons for $5, or even simple sketches for those who can't afford these prices.
All prices are negotiable based on subject matter and complexity.
For an example of what you could be in for, check here! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9788453/
My gallery will give you a good clue into the sort of stuff I can and will draw, but I'm open to most ideas! My only no go areas are Cub, Scat, Gore and any other touchy subjects. Also be aware that Taur and Quad characters may be out of my abilities!
Also, for anyone who may be on the fence, I will happily - and can - draw normal stuff too! I'm sure you could find my regular gallery if you were to look hard enough...
---
So! If you're interested in a piece of art, just send me a message via my PM with your idea and any questions you may have! I'll do my best to get to work on them as soon as I can, but be aware that these are pretty complex pieces to draw in a timely fashion!
Any queries, jot them down below - or if you just want to say awesome, that's fine too!

Posted 13 years agoMakes my blood boil.
I mean sure, it looks gorgeous despite running on 6 year old technology, and the battlefield to corridor gameplay is still a treat...
But the serious amount of grind in multiplayer, and the bullshit wall of levelling, has left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially considering the game expects me to put in hours to unlock even the most elementary of items: like emblems.
Freaking emblems.
What happened to the good old days of Counter-Strike where everything was unlocked from the start? Everyone on a level playing field to learn the mechanics of each weapon in order to assure a skill based environment?
That, and it makes people like me with a severe fetish for customisation go nuts when armor options are cut from use.
Now if you excuse me, I have more serious levelling to do :(

HEY YOU GUYS.
Posted 13 years agoJust wanted to let you know that I'm now operating an alternative account in conjunction to this one!
Meet Ritz Bits!

It's going to be the new home for all the commission pictures I've bought over the years, as well as trade pictures, fan art and requests. Considering it's going to feature a collection of pictures of the collosal, I thought it might be to some interests!
Will try to update it as I can, if my brain doesn't collapse under the workload of it.

Posted 13 years agoMaybe it's been the combination of summer fatigue combined with extra layer's of work within the real world... but I'm starting to feel myself grow a little more distant from being a furball.
This doesn't mean I'm going to leave or clear up my gallery - in fact I'll probably begin to post more art. Though it won't be my usual flavors of muscle and macro work - instead opting for everything I do. My concept work, my video stuff. It may even develop into a new gallery far away from the pre-established notions of the Ritz name.
It probably means I'll be unlikely to do in-character stuff, especially role-playing.
Is this bad news for people who like my stuff? Are you someone who follows me for my art style or personality, or because I draw stuff that happen to match your kinks?
I appreciate honesty. I'm not the kind of guy who'll turn my nose up to people who are only interested in the subject matter. Obviously i'm a fan of what I draw - especially from artists that achieve it a lot better then I can. I'd probably be a little surprised if people genuinely thought my art style was worth watching.
So yeah. Ritz Rant.

Prometheus
Posted 13 years agoMight be a good film or it might not - I may have to see it again to make a much better judgement.
On one hand, it's an incredibly long winded retread on alien territory, on the other its smart cookie among the modern cast of science fiction movies.
As the credits rolled, I did feel a little hard done by - my peers in particular weren't really impressed with the film. But thinking back on it, there were a lot of good but brief parts to the movie.
I can bring it down to a few non-spoiler points.
> A little too much style over substance, although the style is incredible.
> Not enough explanation, and too many key points are left unresolved - while there were a few twists in the film that didn't really add anything.
> It's somewhat based on Alien, but they way they tie it in is half baked.
Almost the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo IN SPACE
With negativity out of the way, I will say it did make me yearn for a directors cut. Though I really should of spent my Midnight Movie time on Men in Black 3!
Anyone else enjoy/loathe Prometheus?

Let me tell you a story.
Posted 13 years agoFollowers, Friends and Fans. I hope you don't mind me getting a little personal for a moment, but something today made me think long and hard about where I am, and where I came from almost half a decade back.
Back before FurAffinity, I was nothing much more then a strange lad going through an even stranger change in my life. I had already began drawing solidly since leaving my Primary, and had already focused a lot of my attention onto drawing doodles, comic strips and sketches for myself and my friends in whatever spare time I had. Crayolas, Charcoals and Pencils were all dried and broken in their hundreds over an eventful summer.
Of course, there seemed to be a lot of recurring themes. Muscular Heroes, Strange Parodies, and more interestingly - Werewolves. Tortured beasts in the body of men, that under the light of the full moon explode out in a feral exposition. Perhaps it was a mix of cartoons as a kid - particular favorites being the rubbery works of Tex Avery and those of their ilk. In fact, I believe I had a very strong fascination for skits that involved growth of some sort. Angry Beavers, Snookems and Meat, Tom and Jerry, even the classic King-sized Canary all seemed to resonate with something I didn't quite understand.

As I became a little more internet savvy, my friends and family would show me the latest and weirdest cartoons and animations that appeared almost on a weekly basis. It was from there that I happened upon the work of Weebl - the British animator famous for his music videos and the adventures of Weebl and Bob. It was these cartoons, and the works of those found of Newgrounds that started a love affair with Macromedia Flash (now owned by Adobe), that has developed over the course of many years, shaping my work and my career prospects. But through these websites, there were other avenues I hadn't known about before. Webcomics in particular caught my attention - one in particular more then the others.
http://www.peteristhewolf.com/
The work of WLP productions, It became an early obsession as I became acquainted with this new, strange world. Not only did it feature artwork that made me want to improve my skills, but it featured characters and situations that I hadn't realised I had an interest in before. Growth, Transformation, Certain elements of the physique becoming more exaggerated then others. I needed more. and through there I found the website that sparked my love affair with the fandom.
http://www.shadowlordinc.com/
One of the earliest memories I have of entering the world of growth, transformations and furrys, it was an amazing database of cartoons from my childhood and beyond that featured all elements of size play. I was completely hooked - I had to hop from artists to artwork to fan-art to animations, and in the process try it out on my own terms.
Through there, I found FA, and after months of sulking around it's pages for favourite artists, I decided to start an account, and post my first strange Sonic the Hedgehog related piece:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/86835/
The rest is visual history. A slow evolution of my style and tastes over almost 6 years.
So what made me want to make me spill my guts out for people who'll think to themselves: tl;dr?
I went to look at my inbox this morning, only to see I was being followed by this man:
stonegate
The wolf who originally put me here. The sage who's gallery of gorgeous growth started a long and sorrid love-affair with the genre. One filled with friends for life, valuable knowledge, and a huge confidence boost that has shaped my adult life.
So yeah, thank you very much for that! You don't know how much your watch meant to me - just as all my watches, favorites and comments mean to me.
Just out of interest, What are your guys stories of how you came to FA? or at least into the Fandom. I'd love to hear everyone's unique tale!

Posted 13 years agoWouldn't it be neat if when you add a linkable name to your post, like so:
Ritz
The icon itself was roughly the same size of the text it's linking too? I think the strange supscript looking links make things a bit messy.
Also, adding facebook elements of being mentioned would be neat.
FurAffinity Facebook in itself is a good idea.
