Ryukami Adopts!
Posted 5 years agoI am currently working on some Ryukami designs which will be up for sale!
Each Ryukami is unique and designed by myself either through traditional or digital media. Ryukami adopts are priced at £25 for both pre-designed and custom designs.

What are Ryukami?
Ryukami are a creature from another world known as the Dystopia; they resemble prehistoric mammalians in that they are oviparous, however the young do not feed on milk and are born with teeth so that they can eat as adults would. They are mostly carnivorous but like canids, have the ability to digest some vegetation. Ryukami are social creatures and tend to live in small family groups or larger packs - however they can be found as isolated individuals. Although usually friendly towards others of their species they can become highly aggressive and fight until the death if needed. Bonded pairs occasionally mate for life.
All Ryukami possess horns, however the females have short stubby horns and the males have large horns that curl backwards behind the ears; the more dominant Ryukami have horns which curl back around the head like a ram. The longer the horns, the more dominant the male is. This is not the only dimorphism among them, Male Ryukami tend to have thicker feathering on their bodies which includes a beard, heavier ruff and cheek fluff.
The Ryukami live in a harsh desert environment and are quite at home among the cliffs where they can seek shelter from the elements and watch for movement of prey but are highly adaptable to new environments. Their thick coats help to protect them from sandstorms and from the freezing temperatures.

Posted 6 years agoSO I recently leveled up to lvl 26 in life.. and with some of my birthday money; my wonderful boyfriend 
Persuaded me to bring home a Blue Freshwater Lobster (Aka as a Blue Crayfish) who was a little bit battered - he's got a few legs missing. We named him Mercury; after Freddie of course as we have a Sarasa Comet named Bowie.
I'll try and get some snaps of him soon when he's not hiding in hos little tower nomming algae

I'm doing this again this year, hopefully it will help me get back into arting on a regular basis. I am working on some traditional work at the moment - it's been nearly a year since I last worked on anything and felt worthwhile. Depression has been kicking me big time and I just couldn't focus on anything long enough to put effort into it.
Mos of my updates will be posted over on my Facebook Art Page >> Here<< so if you use Facebook be sure to head over and follow to see all my updates!
I'll try and be more active here too, anything I finish will be posted here. If anyone is interested in a trade to help me back into art then I am more than happy to do so, just pop me a message or a comment on here :)

Posted 7 years agoIt's been a while, I know I'm a terrible person.
I haven't been very active - mainly due to how horrible my work/sleep pattern is and due to health and whatnot.
So I work night shifts and then do the school run then sleep, do the school run then eat then go to work and that's pretty much an endless cycle except on days off where all I want to do is sleep or find some activity that no longer bores my brain out. (yay depression am I right?)
So on top of that me and Fangus are expecting a baby too - I'm due in May. I kinda forgot to update that here so there's that going on and I haven't really found the time or motivation to really do anything but sleep and moan about how tired I am all the time.
I start my maternity leave mid April and by then we're hoping to make some home improvements - one of which will be getting me a desk where I can work on art from which will be a lot better than sat on the sofa with my art pads and equipment sprawled all over my sofa and it will be a more professional space. I'm hoping to work on some art studies while I have a tonne more free time just to ease me back into things as I go along and hopefully will pick up some commission on the way as I begin to post more and just become more active.
I'm sorry for going quiet for so long - I know a few of you guys really enjoy seeing my work and I feel I've let you down in that, but again, the depression and life in general had just gotten in the way of doing much. Hopefully I will get something up soon - I do have a commission in the works - I'm just being a bit slow about it due to the constant fatigue.

Many of you guys already know that I suffer from depression and I've been off my meds as they were making me nauseous constantly - and I Was discharged from therapy at the start of August, so with that came a massive downer that has lasted for a long time. I've basically not had the motivation to do -anything- at all for over a month, everything that used to bring me entertainment and stimulation no longer does. This includes arting and even gaming. It's hard and I haven't opened my art box until today.
In a little bit of light, I started a new job and money has been coming in but I still find myself struggling financially - and I haven't had the motivation to art and commissions would never get done - so in turn I haven't really advertised for them (even when I do I don't really get anything which has contributed to my massive art block I suspect)
On top of all this I recently had to have one of my rats put to sleep as she was too ill to recover and I also got very bloody ill with a viral infection which has left me covered from head to toe in a skin rash - literally.
But I've picked up a pencil and done a few sketches for a friend who has helped me a lot in the financial area so it's a lot of art as a thank you to owe them back if you will.
That's a brief summary of everything, hopefully I can upload some stuff soon if I get the motivation to do the things.

Should I quit with commissions?

Long story short.. my job is a commission only job. I've had barely anything since January and in the meantime have been living off next to nothing while hunting for work elsewhere. In my crisis I tried to do art - on top of my job to help with my bills and while I know I ain't the best artist ever lol - I also charge about 1/4 of the UK min wage / Hour of work that goes into it. And well... my list has been pretty dry..
I then started to branch out into digital - offering Pay What you Want and I've had like 2... after hours and hours and hours of streaming, I'm still no better off.
I'm really just considering shutting up shop, I feel that , even at the cheapest price I can offer - people are still not paying me to work. It's also why I've not posted anything in a while - I've been feeling that my art is worth so little in value that there's just no point in doing it anymore.

Scanner Ded because of BS reason
Posted 8 years agoMy scanner has decided it can't scan because there is no ink in my printer.... Hence why it's been quiet on here in terms of uploads. That and I haven't had any commissioners, and personal work tends to come in drips and drabs as I much prefer working on characters that are not my own.
I'm usually always open unless stated otherwise - so if you're interested in something, just sent me a note! - I'm likely going to work on pieces for Prints with originals for sale too... once my ink arrives and I can scan things again.

Rats everywhere!
Posted 9 years agoFor those of you who don't have me over on le facebook or Twitter AD or Instagram, I recently re-homed 9 (soon to be 10 now that an escapee has been found) rats from a friend of mine. 7 of those 9 have been re-named with 2 keeping the original names by request of the owner. They are all such pleasant furbabes, well almost, one is naked so not quite a furbaby, but she's cute as hell too.
Solo and Chewy have bonded so well with their new friends which is fantastic and as a bonus two of the re-homed rats are a little bit older so keep all the younger ones in line.
All these rats is hard work!
