Before I begin may i just say a massive HELLOOOOOOO to all my pals after that almost two day long outage. Yay! :D

Okay. For those Bronies out there who enjoy the occasional FanFiction of everybodies favourite Horse Related Cartoon, i would like to pose a question : Have you ever read something that you wished you hadnt?

Yesterday, i did.

Browsing youtube a few days ago brought me to a (may I say VERY impressive) Animated Music Video for the Fan made song "Rainbow Factory" by Wooden Toaster - if you havent heard it look it up, the song is amazingly epic and just a tad dark. :3 So, faved the song, but the music video intrigued me.

For those who havent seen it, it entails the "true" origins of Rainbows in Equestria. Bit dark, bit violent, but it none the less grabbed my attention. Upon hearing that a fanfic had been written based from the song, I soon out of my own damn curiosity found a Dramatic Reading of the Grimdark Fanfic "Rainbow Factory". Before i start on the main bulk here, may i say that the guy reading it was astounding, and were it not for the horrific story, i would definitely reccommend listening to it (hes done some funny readings too such as "And then they Did it", but thats not what Im here for.)

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Okaaay. The basic story of Rainbow Factory is Scootaloo and two original ponies, Orion and Aurora, are taking their final exam at flight school. Rumours are spread about what happens to those who fail the exam, but all Pegasi have to take it. After Aurora crashes and hurts herself, Scoots and Orion ruin their chances of passing by helping her out when no one else does. Sure enough they are shipped away into "exile", but upon arriving at their destination they discover that they hve been sent to the Weather Factory. Yadda yadda yadda, turns out in order to make rainbows they need the ground up bodies of pegasi - cue one distopian/utopian twist later and we discover its better for Cloudsdale overall if the Pegasi who cant fly just dissapear - and so it begins.

Now all this i can handle - ive read Cupcakes and it was just tedious. Violence i can deal with and it didnt change my outlook on Pinkie one bit. But something about this fic made my entire core shrivel - maybe it was the guy's - MictheMicrophone, srsly check him out - reading which was amazing, the guys voices and dramatic ways are fantastic. Or maybe it was the reveal that behind all of this was my Favourite Pony, Rainbow Dash.

Yep, Dashie is the head of this final solution esque operation. The writing then becomes heart rending, as Scootaloo pleads with her "sister" and abuses her and screams "I LOVED YOU" - cudos again to the guys voice acting - and Dash simply retorts with apathy and a violent, heartbreaking speech about how she tried to help Scoots from failing in order to avoid this hell. After Orion is killed and fed through the machine, Scoots stages an uprising and attempts an escape - Im not doing it justic here, i was nearly in tears as she struggles with whats going on. After failing, Dash manages to catch her and by this point has gone completely cookoo. Theyre both physically ripped to shreds in the uprising, and mentally distraught as Dash proceeds to ready a battered and bruised scoota up to the machine. YET MORE heartbreak as Scoots breaks down as Dash beats her into submission, until finally, Dash sees what shes done to her "little sister" and goes total schizo, hating herself and ultimately killing herself. Scoots is killed by one of the engineers, and the Rainbow Factory is destroyed.

Now, fanfics dont usually affect me - but this one was so well written, well read and so very well acted that it made me cry. Didnt help that the Rainbow Dash impression and the Scootaloo impression were spot on.

So, has it changed my outlook on Rainbow Dash? I thought it had. But deep down i know its not even Fanon, its a completely non canon off the rails made up piece of fan fiction. Dash is so out of character in the story that the main baddie may as well be Fluttershy. But even so...

I certainly know Ill never look at cloudsdale the same way...

I decided it was time to give it a proper go instead of just watching out of context clips, and swallowed my pride long enough to type "MLP S1 Ep1" into youtube.

I watched it. All the way through.

I was very pleasantly surprised. It was kiddish, sure, but not to the extent that it made me want to vomit my own testicles out of my nostrils. It was surprisingly entertaining and didnt seem to pander to any particular target audience - at least not the assumed ones anyway. It had charm. I found the characters to be very likeable and, fucking hell i cant believe im sayin this, but it certainly left me wanting to see what happened next.

It was odd. As I pressed play i felt very peculiar. But this faded as soon as i saw the Tapestry-esque intro to the series. It made me hearken back to the days of Samurai Jack and Foster's Home. Soon as i saw the intro i thought to myself "whoa. This thing actually could be worth my time".

I struggled through the - absolutely terrible, im sorry but it has to be said - main theme, but as soon as Twilight Sparkle (I FUCKING KNOW THEIR NAMES THEY ARE IN MY HEAD ALREADY) started meeting all the others i was pretty much in a state of "man this shit is alright."

The humour kept me watching, i gotta admit i giggled a few times and, yeah, i kinda awww'd at Fluttershy's squeek. (d'awww - I MEAN MEAT, BASEBALL, WOMEN, GRRRR), and as the episode drew to a close i found myself looking at the time elapsed and saying "oh no! This isnt gonna get solved in this episode!"

If im saying anything here, its that the writers, artists and voice actors did a fucking good job. To make someone as set in his ways as me actually - get ready for this - ENJOY something such as My Little Pony, fucking cudos to them.

So. Where do i stand on the brony thing?? I wouldnt identify as one - Im a furry above all else, i love this fandom over everything else so sorry Bronydom, but you aint having RJ - but i think my youtube history may have a chronological list of episodes over the next few weeks.

To all my brony friends - and i know there are A FEW *cough* zearfox  aplywoodfox  lantu*cough* - count me in for the fun and story discussions. But dont try and push me. If i ever do decide Im a brony, itll be under MY Conditions. (not that you guys would. Love ya :3)

So it all caught up with me recently - my lifestyle was not heading on the way i wanted it to go, im jobless, and my schoolwork is nowhere near as good as i was hoping it to be. So i pretty much broke down yesterday, after a long argument in my family. I spent a day just lying there, trying to figure out my apparent shit hole of a life.

But then it hit me.

I have no right to be miserable. And here is why.

I have the best friends in the world! I belong to this amazing, wonderful, beautiful community! I have a family that - despite our misunderstandings and dissagreements - loves me!

The world is a beautiful place! Everywhere i look is something positive, no matter how shit everything seems you just have to remember - all this pain is temporary, and i dont care how cliche it is, things ALWAYS get better one way or another!

Ive seen my fair share of arguments on this site. Hell, ive randomly wandered into the middle of a few while both parties are still online, still going at one another. "Well, leave em to it and dont go gettin involved RJ. Thats not your business."

But occasionally Ill come across a Journal by someone completely random and unrelated to any arguments, and there in the comments will be one person who just keeps on popping up, replying to different people's comments until one person gives em a response.

Trolling at its finest, im sure youll agree. Its worse when the Troll attempts to justify their comments and even back them up into an apparently impenetrable argument. And the "victim" - i use that term lightly as to be honest it is their own fault for giving the twat ammo - just carries on.

Well fuckidy doo da day. People need to stop being dicks just for the sake of being dicks. Why is it fun to evoke reactions from people you dont even know? And why bring your hate filled, clearly-could-have-found-a-better-use-of-your-time well constructed arguments and general Cuntyness into something that really doesnt require any response at all.

Fucks sake, people. Everybody fucking grow up, stop using internet memes as a way of saying "Im intellectually superior and cannot be defeated" - Im looking at you, "Problem?", "U Mad Bro" and the worst one of all, "Haters gonna Hate" (has there ever been a more ridiculous way to justify ones actions?) - and learn to FUCKING LOVE EACH OTHER AND ACCEPT EACH OTHER.

Just watched the Furry segment of Peaches Geldof's otherwise GOD AWFUL show in youtube, and I scanned the comments as you do.

Three things you expect when reading comments on ANY furry related vid: the chorus of "Yiff in hell!", the occasional furs who try too hard to justify their interest and the intelligent guys who just really dont give a fuck.

But one comment got me right in the heart, and this is because it was from a non fur:

"Furries are without exception, the nicest, friendliest, most accepting people I havr ever had the good fortune to meet.

And no IGNORANT HATEFUL TOSSER will try to misinform me otherwise."

I almost did a little cry at that. :3

Who cares what people think of the Fandom? What are they gonna do, write a nasty comment?

A lot of you may have heard me make jokes at our friendly neighbourhood Bronies. Yeah, i admit it. I dont like MLP. I never have and more than likely never will.

BUT. I am not that much of a twat that I will GENUINELY or HONESTLY mean any cruel comments or piss taking jokes aimed at Bronies - ESPECIALLY my friends who are members of said fandom. I love you guys, so why would I mean any offence?

Its not my place to judge. I will however make jokes because that is who I am. If I ever offend you through a Pony related joke or jibe, I am truely sorry - its like making gay jokes to a gay friend - its Harmless, friendly banter. But if it ever goes to far, please tell me and I will of course be too happy to apologise. :)

SO. Just to get my thoughts clear and out there, here are my five Brony related comments:

NUMBER ONE : I do NOT dislike bronies or fans of the show. There is absolutely no difference in being obsessed with MLP and being obsessed with Furries. Okay, it has the feminine connotations but hey, we're all pretty secure in our sexuality so... XP

NUMBER TWO: I actually really like the art style used in the show. (Im a sucker for big cute eyes and, yep, theyre aplenty).

NUMBER THREE: Bronies are as much Social Outcasts as Furries, so to be honest you guys are kinda kindred spirits.

NUMBER FOUR: Even I think Rainbow Dash looks cool.

NUMBER FIVE: LIVE AND LET LIVE GUYS!

So there you have it. I dont mind that this fad has taken over, i dont mind that my friends are into it and i dont mind if i see an ungodly influx of Pony art.

Whatcha doooooin'?

There is a time where you, as a user of Fur Affinity, will of course be surfing the hundreds of thousands of pieces on here, not a care in the world.

And then you come across an account - a user, a fellow Furry, a fellow HUMAN BEING. And you are suddenly overcome with a feeling like no other. The Strangest, Saddest Feeling that I personally have ever felt.

The feeling of realising that the User of the Page you are looking at, admiring the art of and reading the journals they have left, is dead.

You read that right.

It is the strangest thing - seeing their art, a true, deep view into their soul and mindset, sering them so ALIVE, and then reading all of the heartbreaking tributes that their friends have left. And sometimes, in the case of the user I have just discovered, the last journal they wrote.

In this case, it was a suicide note. The way it was written... So casual, so informal. He even ended it by saying Ciao with an exclamation mark.

Never before in my life have i felt mourning for someone Ive never met. Never even spoken to, didnt even know that they existed until after their death...

I dont know whether its a touching tribute or administrator lazyness, or even if it is just a matter of no one being able to get into the account and close it, but i am so thankful that their pages are still up. I feel honoured that i can discover who these fantastic, talented, tender, occassionally funny and cheeky people were.

I just wish i got to know them beforehand... :(

Seriously, i have just spent a good half hour watching videos from Anthrocon 2010.

It looks so much fun! All the suiters and the "Popufurs" all hangin around acting goofy, and the fact that pretty much everyone around you is a Furry!

I realise Im probably preaching to the choir here, but i SOOOOO WANT TO GO ONE YEAR.

Plus i wanna Fursuit head, cant afford the whole thing. And frankly, id probably die of heat exhaustion. (HOW DO THEY DANCE IN THEM??!)

So yeah. Just thought id share my crazy ramblings with you.

I shall return to my insomnia now. :3
